Hear ye the word which the LORD speaketh unto you, O house of Israel:
- Écoutez la parole que l'Éternel vous adresse, Maison d'Israël! (Ⅱ) - ἀκούσατε τὸν λόγον κυρίου ὃν ἐλάλησεν ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς οἰ̃κος Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Audite verbum quod locutus est Dominus super vos, domus Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃10 שמעו את הדבר אשר דבר יהוה עליכם בית ישראל (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: N'imitez pas la voie des nations, Et ne craignez pas les signes du ciel, Parce que les nations les craignent. (Ⅱ) - τάδε λέγει κύριος κατὰ τὰς ὁδοὺς τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν μὴ μανθάνετε καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν σημείων του̃ οὐρανου̃ μὴ φοβει̃σθε ὅτι φοβου̃νται αὐτὰ τοι̃ς προσώποις αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus :/ Juxta vias gentium nolite discere,/ et a signis cæli nolite metuere, quæ timent gentes,/ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃10 כה אמר יהוה אל דרך הגוים אל תלמדו ומאתות השמים אל תחתו כי יחתו הגוים מהמה (Ⅴ)

For the customs of the people are vain: for one cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
- Car les coutumes des peuples ne sont que vanité. On coupe le bois dans la forêt; La main de l'ouvrier le travaille avec la hache; (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τὰ νόμιμα τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν μάταια ξύλον ἐστὶν ἐκ του̃ δρυμου̃ ἐκκεκομμένον ἔργον τέκτονος καὶ χώνευμα (Ⅲ) - quia leges populorum vanæ sunt./ Quia lignum de saltu præcidit opus manus artificis in ascia :/ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃10 כי חקות העמים הבל הוא כי עץ מיער כרתו מעשה ידי חרש במעצד (Ⅴ)

They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.
- On l'embellit avec de l'argent et de l'or, On le fixe avec des clous et des marteaux, Pour qu'il ne branle pas. (Ⅱ) - ἀργυρίω̨ καὶ χρυσίω̨ κεκαλλωπισμένα ἐστίν ἐν σφύραις καὶ ἥλοις ἐστερέωσαν αὐτά καὶ οὐ κινηθήσονται (Ⅲ) - argento et auro decoravit illud :/ clavis et malleis compegit, ut non dissolvatur :/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃10 בכסף ובזהב ייפהו במסמרות ובמקבות יחזקום ולוא יפיק (Ⅴ)

They are upright as the palm tree, but speak not: they must needs be borne, because they cannot go. Be not afraid of them; for they cannot do evil, neither also is it in them to do good.
- Ces dieux sont comme une colonne massive, et ils ne parlent point; On les porte, parce qu'ils ne peuvent marcher. Ne les craignez pas, car ils ne sauraient faire aucun mal, Et ils sont incapables de faire du bien. (Ⅱ) - αἰρόμενα ἀρθήσονται ὅτι οὐκ ἐπιβήσονται μὴ φοβηθη̃τε αὐτά ὅτι οὐ μὴ κακοποιήσωσιν καὶ ἀγαθὸν οὐκ ἔστιν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - in similitudinem palmæ fabricata sunt,/ et non loquentur :/ portata tollentur,/ quia incedere non valent./ Nolite ergo timere ea,/ quia nec male possunt facere, nec bene./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃10 כתמר מקשה המה ולא ידברו נשוא ינשוא כי לא יצעדו אל תיראו מהם כי לא ירעו וגם היטיב אין אותם ס (Ⅴ)

Forasmuch as there is none like unto thee, O LORD; thou art great, and thy name is great in might.
- Nul n'est semblable à toi, ô Éternel! Tu es grand, et ton nom est grand par ta puissance. (Ⅱ) - Non est similis tui, Domine :/ magnus es tu,/ et magnum nomen tuum in fortitudine./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃10 מאין כמוך יהוה גדול אתה וגדול שמך בגבורה (Ⅴ)

Who would not fear thee, O King of nations? for to thee doth it appertain: forasmuch as among all the wise men of the nations, and in all their kingdoms, there is none like unto thee.
- Qui ne te craindrait, roi des nations? C'est à toi que la crainte est due; Car, parmi tous les sages des nations et dans tous leurs royaumes, Nul n'est semblable à toi. (Ⅱ) - Quis non timebit te, o Rex gentium ?/ tuum est enim decus :/ inter cunctos sapientes gentium,/ et in universis regnis eorum,/ nullus est similis tui./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃10 מי לא יראך מלך הגוים כי לך יאתה כי בכל חכמי הגוים ובכל מלכותם מאין כמוך (Ⅴ)

But they are altogether brutish and foolish: the stock is a doctrine of vanities.
- Tous ensemble, ils sont stupides et insensés; Leur science n'est que vanité, c'est du bois! (Ⅱ) - Pariter insipientes et fatui probabuntur :/ doctrina vanitatis eorum lignum est./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃10 ובאחת יבערו ויכסלו מוסר הבלים עץ הוא (Ⅴ)

Silver spread into plates is brought from Tarshish, and gold from Uphaz, the work of the workman, and of the hands of the founder: blue and purple is their clothing: they are all the work of cunning men.
- On apporte de Tarsis des lames d'argent, et d'Uphaz de l'or, L'ouvrier et la main de l'orfèvre les mettent en oeuvre; Les vêtements de ces dieux sont d'étoffes teintes en bleu et en pourpre, Tous sont l'ouvrage d'habiles artisans. (Ⅱ) - ἀργύριον τορευτόν ἐστιν οὐ πορεύσονται ἀργύριον προσβλητὸν ἀπὸ Θαρσις ἥξει χρυσίον Μωφαζ καὶ χεὶρ χρυσοχόων ἔργα τεχνιτω̃ν πάντα ὑάκινθον καὶ πορφύραν ἐνδύσουσιν αὐτά (Ⅲ) - Argentum involutum de Tharsis affertur,/ et aurum de Ophaz :/ opus artificis et manus ærarii./ Hyacinthus et purpura indumentum eorum :/ opus artificum universa hæc./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃10 כסף מרקע מתרשיש יובא וזהב מאופז מעשה חרש וידי צורף תכלת וארגמן לבושם מעשה חכמים כלם (Ⅴ)

But the LORD is the true God, he is the living God, and an everlasting king: at his wrath the earth shall tremble, and the nations shall not be able to abide his indignation.
- Mais l'Éternel est Dieu en vérité, Il est un Dieu vivant et un roi éternel; La terre tremble devant sa colère, Et les nations ne supportent pas sa fureur. (Ⅱ) - Dominus autem Deus verus est,/ ipse Deus vivens,/ et rex sempiternus./ Ab indignatione ejus commovebitur terra,/ et non sustinebunt gentes comminationem ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃10 ויהוה אלהים אמת הוא אלהים חיים ומלך עולם מקצפו תרעש הארץ ולא יכלו גוים זעמו ס (Ⅴ)

Thus shall ye say unto them, The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth, even they shall perish from the earth, and from under these heavens.
- Vous leur parlerez ainsi: Les dieux qui n'ont point fait les cieux et la terre Disparaîtront de la terre et de dessous les cieux. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως ἐρει̃τε αὐτοι̃ς θεοί οἳ τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ τὴν γη̃ν οὐκ ἐποίησαν ἀπολέσθωσαν ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ ὑποκάτωθεν του̃ οὐρανου̃ τούτου (Ⅲ) - Sic ergo dicetis eis :/ Dii qui cælos et terram non fecerunt,/ pereant de terra et de his quæ sub cælo sunt !/ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃10 כדנה תאמרון להום אלהיא די שמיא וארקא לא עבדו יאבדו מארעא ומן תחות שמיא אלה ס (Ⅴ)

He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heavens by his discretion.
- Il a créé la terre par sa puissance, Il a fondé le monde par sa sagesse, Il a étendu les cieux par son intelligence. (Ⅱ) - κύριος ὁ ποιήσας τὴν γη̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ ἰσχύι αὐτου̃ ὁ ἀνορθώσας τὴν οἰκουμένην ἐν τη̨̃ σοφία̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ τη̨̃ φρονήσει αὐτου̃ ἐξέτεινεν τὸν οὐρανὸν (Ⅲ) - Qui facit terram in fortitudine sua,/ præparat orbem in sapientia sua,/ et prudentia sua extendit cælos :/ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃10 עשה ארץ בכחו מכין תבל בחכמתו ובתבונתו נטה שמים (Ⅴ)

When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens, and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth; he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures.
- A sa voix, les eaux mugissent dans les cieux; Il fait monter les nuages des extrémités de la terre, Il produit les éclairs et la pluie, Il tire le vent de ses trésors. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πλη̃θος ὕδατος ἐν οὐρανω̨̃ καὶ ἀνήγαγεν νεφέλας ἐξ ἐσχάτου τη̃ς γη̃ς ἀστραπὰς εἰς ὑετὸν ἐποίησεν καὶ ἐξήγαγεν φω̃ς ἐκ θησαυρω̃ν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - ad vocem suam dat multitudinem aquarum in cælo,/ et elevat nebulas ab extremitatibus terræ :/ fulgura in pluviam facit,/ et educit ventum de thesauris suis./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃10 לקול תתו המון מים בשמים ויעלה נשאים מקצה *ארץ **הארץ ברקים למטר עשה ויוצא רוח מאצרתיו (Ⅴ)

Every man is brutish in his knowledge: every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.
- Tout homme devient stupide par sa science, Tout orfèvre est honteux de son image taillée; Car ses idoles ne sont que mensonge, Il n'y a point en elles de souffle, (Ⅱ) - ἐμωράνθη πα̃ς ἄνθρωπος ἀπὸ γνώσεως κατη̨σχύνθη πα̃ς χρυσοχόος ἐπὶ τοι̃ς γλυπτοι̃ς αὐτου̃ ὅτι ψευδη̃ ἐχώνευσαν οὐκ ἔστιν πνευ̃μα ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Stultus factus est omnis homo a scientia :/ confusus est artifex omnis in sculptili,/ quoniam falsum est quod conflavit,/ et non est spiritus in eis./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃10 נבער כל אדם מדעת הביש כל צורף מפסל כי שקר נסכו ולא רוח בם (Ⅴ)

They are vanity, and the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.
- Elles sont une chose de néant, une oeuvre de tromperie; Elles périront, quand viendra le châtiment. (Ⅱ) - μάταιά ἐστιν ἔργα ἐμπεπαιγμένα ἐν καιρω̨̃ ἐπισκοπη̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἀπολου̃νται (Ⅲ) - Vana sunt, et opus risu dignum :/ in tempore visitationis suæ peribunt./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃10 הבל המה מעשה תעתעים בעת פקדתם יאבדו (Ⅴ)

The portion of Jacob is not like them: for he is the former of all things; and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: The LORD of hosts is his name.
- Celui qui est la part de Jacob n'est pas comme elles; Car c'est lui qui a tout formé, Et Israël est la tribu de son héritage. L'Éternel des armées est son nom. (Ⅱ) - οὐκ ἔστιν τοιαύτη μερὶς τω̨̃ Ιακωβ ὅτι ὁ πλάσας τὰ πάντα αὐτὸς κληρονομία αὐτου̃ κύριος ὄνομα αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Non est his similis pars Jacob :/ qui enim formavit omnia, ipse est,/ et Israël virga hæreditatis ejus :/ Dominus exercituum nomen illi./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃10 לא כאלה חלק יעקב כי יוצר הכל הוא וישראל שבט נחלתו יהוה צבאות שמו ס (Ⅴ)

Gather up thy wares out of the land, O inhabitant of the fortress.
- Emporte du pays ce qui t'appartient, Toi qui es assise dans la détresse! (Ⅱ) - συνήγαγεν ἔξωθεν τὴν ὑπόστασίν σου κατοικου̃σα ἐν ἐκλεκτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Congrega de terra confusionem tuam,/ quæ habitas in obsidione :/ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃10 אספי מארץ כנעתך *ישבתי **ישבת במצור ס (Ⅴ)

For thus saith the LORD, Behold, I will sling out the inhabitants of the land at this once, and will distress them, that they may find it so.
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel: Voici, cette fois je vais lancer au loin les habitants du pays; Je vais les serrer de près, afin qu'on les atteigne. - (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ σκελίζω τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας τὴν γη̃ν ταύτην ἐν θλίψει ὅπως εὑρεθη̨̃ ἡ πληγή σου (Ⅲ) - quia hæc dicit Dominus :/ Ecce ego longe projiciam habitatores terræ in hac vice,/ et tribulabo eos ita ut inveniantur./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃10 כי כה אמר יהוה הנני קולע את יושבי הארץ בפעם הזאת והצרותי להם למען ימצאו ס (Ⅴ)

Woe is me for my hurt! my wound is grievous; but I said, Truly this is a grief, and I must bear it.
- Malheur à moi! je suis brisée! Ma plaie est douloureuse! Mais je dis: C'est une calamité qui m'arrive, Je la supporterai! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ ἐπὶ συντρίμματί σου ἀλγηρὰ ἡ πληγή σου κἀγὼ εἰ̃πα ὄντως του̃το τὸ τραυ̃μά μου καὶ κατέλαβέν με (Ⅲ) - Væ mihi super contritione mea :/ pessima plaga mea./ Ego autem dixi :/ Plane hæc infirmitas mea est, et portabo illam./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃10 אוי לי על שברי נחלה מכתי ואני אמרתי אך זה חלי ואשאנו (Ⅴ)

My tabernacle is spoiled, and all my cords are broken: my children are gone forth of me, and they are not: there is none to stretch forth my tent any more, and to set up my curtains.
- Ma tente est détruite, Tous mes cordages sont rompus; Mes fils m'ont quittée, ils ne sont plus; Je n'ai personne qui dresse de nouveau ma tente, Qui relève mes pavillons. - (Ⅱ) - ἡ σκηνή μου ἐταλαιπώρησεν ὤλετο καὶ πα̃σαι αἱ δέρρεις μου διεσπάσθησαν οἱ υἱοί μου καὶ τὰ πρόβατά μου οὔκ εἰσιν οὐκ ἔστιν ἔτι τόπος τη̃ς σκηνη̃ς μου τόπος τω̃ν δέρρεών μου (Ⅲ) - Tabernaculum meum vastatum est ;/ omnes funiculi mei dirupti sunt :/ filii mei exierunt a me, et non subsistunt./ Non est qui extendat ultra tentorium meum,/ et erigat pelles meas./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃10 אהלי שדד וכל מיתרי נתקו בני יצאני ואינם אין נטה עוד אהלי ומקים יריעותי (Ⅴ)

For the pastors are become brutish, and have not sought the LORD: therefore they shall not prosper, and all their flocks shall be scattered.
- Les bergers ont été stupides, Ils n'ont pas cherché l'Éternel; C'est pour cela qu'ils n'ont point prospéré, Et que tous leurs troupeaux se dispersent. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι οἱ ποιμένες ἠφρονεύσαντο καὶ τὸν κύριον οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν διὰ του̃το οὐκ ἐνόησεν πα̃σα ἡ νομὴ καὶ διεσκορπίσθησαν (Ⅲ) - Quia stulte egerunt pastores,/ et Dominum non quæsierunt :/ propterea non intellexerunt,/ et omnis grex eorum dispersus est./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃10 כי נבערו הרעים ואת יהוה לא דרשו על כן לא השכילו וכל מרעיתם נפוצה ס (Ⅴ)

Behold, the noise of the bruit is come, and a great commotion out of the north country, to make the cities of Judah desolate, and a den of dragons.
- Voici, une rumeur se fait entendre; C'est un grand tumulte qui vient du septentrion, Pour réduire les villes de Juda en un désert, En un repaire de chacals. - (Ⅱ) - φωνὴ ἀκοη̃ς ἰδοὺ ἔρχεται καὶ σεισμὸς μέγας ἐκ γη̃ς βορρα̃ του̃ τάξαι τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα εἰς ἀφανισμὸν καὶ κοίτην στρουθω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Vox auditionis ecce venit,/ et commotio magna de terra aquilonis :/ ut ponat civitates Juda solitudinem,/ et habitaculum draconum./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃10 קול שמועה הנה באה ורעש גדול מארץ צפון לשום את ערי יהודה שממה מעון תנים ס (Ⅴ)

O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.
- Je le sais, ô Éternel! La voie de l'homme n'est pas en son pouvoir; Ce n'est pas à l'homme, quand il marche, A diriger ses pas. (Ⅱ) - οἰ̃δα κύριε ὅτι οὐχὶ του̃ ἀνθρώπου ἡ ὁδὸς αὐτου̃ οὐδὲ ἀνὴρ πορεύσεται καὶ κατορθώσει πορείαν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Scio, Domine,/ quia non est hominis via ejus,/ nec viri est ut ambulet,/ et dirigat gressus suos./ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃10 ידעתי יהוה כי לא לאדם דרכו לא לאיש הלך והכין את צעדו (Ⅴ)

O LORD, correct me, but with judgment; not in thine anger, lest thou bring me to nothing.
- Châtie-moi, ô Éternel! mais avec équité, Et non dans ta colère, de peur que tu ne m'anéantisses. (Ⅱ) - παίδευσον ἡμα̃ς κύριε πλὴν ἐν κρίσει καὶ μὴ ἐν θυμω̨̃ ἵνα μὴ ὀλίγους ἡμα̃ς ποιήση̨ς (Ⅲ) - Corripe me, Domine, verumtamen in judicio,/ et non in furore tuo, ne forte ad nihilum redigas me./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃10 יסרני יהוה אך במשפט אל באפך פן תמעטני (Ⅴ)

Pour out thy fury upon the heathen that know thee not, and upon the families that call not on thy name: for they have eaten up Jacob, and devoured him, and consumed him, and have made his habitation desolate.
- Répands ta fureur sur les nations qui ne te connaissent pas, Et sur les peuples qui n'invoquent pas ton nom! Car ils dévorent Jacob, ils le dévorent, ils le consument, Ils ravagent sa demeure. (Ⅱ) - ἔκχεον τὸν θυμόν σου ἐπὶ ἔθνη τὰ μὴ εἰδότα σε καὶ ἐπὶ γενεὰς αἳ τὸ ὄνομά σου οὐκ ἐπεκαλέσαντο ὅτι κατέφαγον τὸν Ιακωβ καὶ ἐξανήλωσαν αὐτὸν καὶ τὴν νομὴν αὐτου̃ ἠρήμωσαν (Ⅲ) - Effunde indignationem tuam super gentes quæ non cognoverunt te,/ et super provincias quæ nomen tuum non invocaverunt :/ quia comederunt Jacob, et devoraverunt eum,/ et consumpserunt illum, et decus ejus dissipaverunt.] (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃10 שפך חמתך על הגוים אשר לא ידעוך ועל משפחות אשר בשמך לא קראו כי אכלו את יעקב ואכלהו ויכלהו ואת נוהו השמו פ (Ⅴ)
