And when Rehoboam was come to Jerusalem, he gathered of the house of Judah and Benjamin an hundred and fourscore thousand chosen men, which were warriors, to fight against Israel, that he might bring the kingdom again to Rehoboam.
- Roboam, arrivé à Jérusalem, rassembla la maison de Juda et de Benjamin, cent quatre-vingt mille hommes d'élite propres à la guerre, pour qu'ils combattissent contre Israël afin de le ramener sous la domination de Roboam. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃λθεν Ροβοαμ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐξεκκλησίασεν τὸν Ιουδαν καὶ Βενιαμιν ἑκατὸν ὀγδοήκοντα χιλιάδας νεανίσκων ποιούντων πόλεμον καὶ ἐπολέμει πρὸς Ισραηλ του̃ ἐπιστρέψαι τὴν βασιλείαν τω̨̃ Ροβοαμ (Ⅲ) - Venit autem Roboam in Jerusalem, et convocavit universam domum Juda et Benjamin, centum octoginta millia electorum atque bellantium, ut dimicaret contra Israël, et converteret ad se regnum suum. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃11 ויבא רחבעם ירושלם ויקהל את בית יהודה ובנימן מאה ושמונים אלף בחור עשה מלחמה להלחם עם ישראל להשיב את הממלכה לרחבעם פ (Ⅴ)

But the word of the LORD came to Shemaiah the man of God, saying,
- Mais la parole de l'Éternel fut ainsi adressée à Schemaeja, homme de Dieu: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρὸς Σαμαιαν ἄνθρωπον του̃ θεου̃ λέγων (Ⅲ) - Factusque est sermo Domini ad Semeiam hominem Dei, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃11 ויהי דבר יהוה אל שמעיהו איש האלהים לאמר (Ⅴ)

Speak unto Rehoboam the son of Solomon, king of Judah, and to all Israel in Judah and Benjamin, saying,
- Parle à Roboam, fils de Salomon, roi de Juda, et à tout Israël en Juda et en Benjamin. Et dis-leur: (Ⅱ) - εἰπὸν πρὸς Ροβοαμ τὸν του̃ Σαλωμων καὶ πρὸς πάντα Ιουδαν καὶ Βενιαμιν λέγων (Ⅲ) - Loquere ad Roboam filium Salomonis regem Juda, et ad universum Israël, qui est in Juda et Benjamin : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃11 אמר אל רחבעם בן שלמה מלך יהודה ואל כל ישראל ביהודה ובנימן לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not go up, nor fight against your brethren: return every man to his house: for this thing is done of me. And they obeyed the words of the LORD, and returned from going against Jeroboam.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Ne montez point, et ne faites pas la guerre à vos frères! Que chacun de vous retourne dans sa maison, car c'est de par moi que cette chose est arrivée. Ils obéirent aux paroles de l'Éternel, et ils s'en retournèrent, renonçant à marcher contre Jéroboam. (Ⅱ) - τάδε λέγει κύριος οὐκ ἀναβήσεσθε καὶ οὐ πολεμήσετε πρὸς τοὺς ἀδελφοὺς ὑμω̃ν ἀποστρέφετε ἕκαστος εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ ὅτι παρ' ἐμου̃ ἐγένετο τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το καὶ ἐπήκουσαν του̃ λόγου κυρίου καὶ ἀπεστράφησαν του̃ μὴ πορευθη̃ναι ἐπὶ Ιεροβοαμ (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus : Non ascendetis, neque pugnabitis contra fratres vestros : revertatur unusquisque in domum suam, quia mea hoc gestum est voluntate. Qui cum audissent sermonem Domini, reversi sunt, nec perrexerunt contra Jeroboam.\ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃11 כה אמר יהוה לא תעלו ולא תלחמו עם אחיכם שובו איש לביתו כי מאתי נהיה הדבר הזה וישמעו את דברי יהוה וישבו מלכת אל ירבעם פ (Ⅴ)

And Rehoboam dwelt in Jerusalem, and built cities for defense in Judah.

(Ⅱ) - καὶ κατώ̨κησεν Ροβοαμ εἰς Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν πόλεις τειχήρεις ἐν τη̨̃ Ιουδαία̨ (Ⅲ) - Habitavit autem Roboam in Jerusalem, et ædificavit civitates muratas in Juda. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃11 וישב רחבעם בירושלם ויבן ערים למצור ביהודה (Ⅴ)

He built even Bethlehem, and Etam, and Tekoa,
- Il bâtit Bethléhem, Étham, Tekoa, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησεν τὴν Βαιθλεεμ καὶ τὴν Αιταμ καὶ τὴν Θεκωε (Ⅲ) - Exstruxitque Bethlehem, et Etam, et Thecue, (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃11 ויבן את בית לחם ואת עיטם ואת תקוע (Ⅴ)

And Bethzur, and Shoco, and Adullam,
- Beth Tsur, Soco, Adullam, (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὴν Βαιθσουρα καὶ τὴν Σοκχωθ καὶ τὴν Οδολλαμ (Ⅲ) - Bethsur quoque, et Socho, et Odollam, (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃11 ואת בית צור ואת שוכו ואת עדלם (Ⅴ)

And Gath, and Mareshah, and Ziph,
- Gath, Maréscha, Ziph, (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὴν Γεθ καὶ τὴν Μαρισαν καὶ τὴν Ζιφ (Ⅲ) - necnon et Geth, et Maresa, et Ziph, (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃11 ואת גת ואת מרשה ואת זיף (Ⅴ)

And Adoraim, and Lachish, and Azekah,
- Adoraïm, Lakis, Azéka, (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὴν Αδωραιμ καὶ τὴν Λαχις καὶ τὴν Αζηκα (Ⅲ) - sed et Aduram, et Lachis, et Azeca, (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃11 ואת אדורים ואת לכיש ואת עזקה (Ⅴ)

And Zorah, and Aijalon, and Hebron, which are in Judah and in Benjamin fenced cities.
- Tsorea, Ajalon et Hébron, qui étaient en Juda et en Benjamin, et il en fit des villes fortes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὴν Σαραα καὶ τὴν Αιαλων καὶ τὴν Χεβρων ἥ ἐστιν του̃ Ιουδα καὶ Βενιαμιν πόλεις τειχήρεις (Ⅲ) - Saraa quoque, et Ajalon, et Hebron, quæ erant in Juda et Benjamin, civitates munitissimas. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃11 ואת צרעה ואת אילון ואת חברון אשר ביהודה ובבנימן ערי מצרות (Ⅴ)

And he fortified the strong holds, and put captains in them, and store of victual, and of oil and wine.
- Il les fortifia, et y établit des commandants, et des magasins de vivres, d'huile et de vin. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠχύρωσεν αὐτὰς τείχεσιν καὶ ἔδωκεν ἐν αὐται̃ς ἡγουμένους καὶ παραθέσεις βρωμάτων ἔλαιον καὶ οἰ̃νον (Ⅲ) - Cumque clausisset eas muris, posuit in eis principes, ciborumque horrea, hoc est, olei, et vini. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃11 ויחזק את המצרות ויתן בהם נגידים ואצרות מאכל ושמן ויין (Ⅴ)

And in every several city he put shields and spears, and made them exceeding strong, having Judah and Benjamin on his side.
- Il mit dans chacune de ces villes des boucliers et des lances, et il les rendit très fortes. Juda et Benjamin étaient à lui. (Ⅱ) - κατὰ πόλιν καὶ κατὰ πόλιν θυρεοὺς καὶ δόρατα καὶ κατίσχυσεν αὐτὰς εἰς πλη̃θος σφόδρα καὶ ἠ̃σαν αὐτω̨̃ Ιουδα καὶ Βενιαμιν (Ⅲ) - Sed et in singulis urbibus fecit armamentarium scutorum et hastarum, firmavitque eas summa diligentia, et imperavit super Judam et Benjamin.\ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃11 ובכל עיר ועיר צנות ורמחים ויחזקם להרבה מאד ויהי לו יהודה ובנימן ס (Ⅴ)

And the priests and the Levites that were in all Israel resorted to him out of all their coasts.
- Les sacrificateurs et les Lévites qui se trouvaient dans tout Israël quittèrent leurs demeures pour se rendre auprès de lui; (Ⅱ) - καὶ οἱ ἱερει̃ς καὶ οἱ Λευι̃ται οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἐν παντὶ Ισραηλ συνήχθησαν πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐκ πάντων τω̃ν ὁρίων (Ⅲ) - Sacerdotes autem et Levitæ qui erant in universo Israël, venerunt ad eum de cunctis sedibus suis, (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃11 והכהנים והלוים אשר בכל ישראל התיצבו עליו מכל גבולם (Ⅴ)

For the Levites left their suburbs and their possession, and came to Judah and Jerusalem: for Jeroboam and his sons had cast them off from executing the priest's office unto the LORD:
- car les Lévites abandonnèrent leurs banlieues et leurs propriétés et vinrent en Juda et à Jérusalem, parce que Jéroboam et ses fils les empêchèrent de remplir leurs fonctions comme sacrificateurs de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ἐγκατέλιπον οἱ Λευι̃ται τὰ σκηνώματα τη̃ς κατασχέσεως αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν πρὸς Ιουδαν εἰς Ιερουσαλημ ὅτι ἐξέβαλεν αὐτοὺς Ιεροβοαμ καὶ οἱ υἱοὶ αὐτου̃ του̃ μὴ λειτουργει̃ν κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ) - relinquentes suburbana et possessiones suas, et transeuntes ad Judam et Jerusalem : eo quod abjecisset eos Jeroboam et posteri ejus, ne sacerdotio Domini fungerentur. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃11 כי עזבו הלוים את מגרשיהם ואחזתם וילכו ליהודה ולירושלם כי הזניחם ירבעם ובניו מכהן ליהוה (Ⅴ)

And he ordained him priests for the high places, and for the devils, and for the calves which he had made.
- Jéroboam établit des sacrificateurs pour les hauts lieux, pour les boucs, et pour les veaux qu'il avait faits. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατέστησεν ἑαυτω̨̃ ἱερει̃ς τω̃ν ὑψηλω̃ν καὶ τοι̃ς εἰδώλοις καὶ τοι̃ς ματαίοις καὶ τοι̃ς μόσχοις ἃ ἐποίησεν Ιεροβοαμ (Ⅲ) - Qui constituit sibi sacerdotes excelsorum, et dæmoniorum, vitulorumque quos fecerat. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃11 ויעמד לו כהנים לבמות ולשעירים ולעגלים אשר עשה (Ⅴ)

And after them out of all the tribes of Israel such as set their hearts to seek the LORD God of Israel came to Jerusalem, to sacrifice unto the LORD God of their fathers.
- Ceux de toutes les tribus d'Israël qui avaient à coeur de chercher l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, suivirent les Lévites à Jérusalem pour sacrifier à l'Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξέβαλεν αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ φυλω̃ν Ισραηλ οἳ ἔδωκαν καρδίαν αὐτω̃ν του̃ ζητη̃σαι κύριον θεὸν Ισραηλ καὶ ἠ̃λθον εἰς Ιερουσαλημ θυ̃σαι κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ τω̃ν πατέρων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Sed et de cunctis tribubus Israël, quicumque dederant cor suum ut quærerent Dominum Deum Israël, venerunt in Jerusalem ad immolandum victimas suas coram Domino Deo patrum suorum. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃11 ואחריהם מכל שבטי ישראל הנתנים את לבבם לבקש את יהוה אלהי ישראל באו ירושלם לזבוח ליהוה אלהי אבותיהם (Ⅴ)

So they strengthened the kingdom of Judah, and made Rehoboam the son of Solomon strong, three years: for three years they walked in the way of David and Solomon.
- Ils donnèrent ainsi de la force au royaume de Juda, et affermirent Roboam, fils de Salomon, pendant trois ans; car ils marchèrent pendant trois ans dans la voie de David et de Salomon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατίσχυσαν τὴν βασιλείαν Ιουδα καὶ κατίσχυσαν Ροβοαμ τὸν του̃ Σαλωμων εἰς ἔτη τρία ὅτι ἐπορεύθη ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς Δαυιδ καὶ Σαλωμων ἔτη τρία (Ⅲ) - Et roboraverunt regnum Juda, et confirmaverunt Roboam filium Salomonis per tres annos : ambulaverunt enim in viis David et Salomonis, annis tantum tribus.\ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃11 ויחזקו את מלכות יהודה ויאמצו את רחבעם בן שלמה לשנים שלוש כי הלכו בדרך דויד ושלמה לשנים שלוש (Ⅴ)

And Rehoboam took him Mahalath the daughter of Jerimoth the son of David to wife, and Abihail the daughter of Eliab the son of Jesse;
- Roboam prit pour femme Mahalath, fille de Jerimoth, fils de David et d'Abichaïl, fille d'Éliab, fils d'Isaï. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν ἑαυτω̨̃ Ροβοαμ γυναι̃κα τὴν Μολλαθ θυγατέρα Ιεριμουθ υἱου̃ Δαυιδ Αβαιαν θυγατέρα Ελιαβ του̃ Ιεσσαι (Ⅲ) - Duxit autem Roboam uxorem Mahalath filiam Jerimoth filii David : Abihail quoque filiam Eliab filii Isai, (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃11 ויקח לו רחבעם אשה את מחלת *בן **בת ירימות בן דויד אביהיל בת אליאב בן ישי (Ⅴ)

Which bare him children; Jeush, and Shamariah, and Zaham.
- Elle lui enfanta des fils: Jeusch, Schemaria et Zaham. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτω̨̃ υἱοὺς τὸν Ιαους καὶ τὸν Σαμαριαν καὶ τὸν Ροολλαμ (Ⅲ) - quæ peperit ei filios Jehus, et Somoriam, et Zoom. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃11 ותלד לו בנים את יעוש ואת שמריה ואת זהם (Ⅴ)

And after her he took Maachah the daughter of Absalom; which bare him Abijah, and Attai, and Ziza, and Shelomith.
- Après elle, il prit Maaca, fille d'Absalom. Elle lui enfanta Abija, Attaï, Ziza et Schelomith. (Ⅱ) - καὶ μετὰ ταυ̃τα ἔλαβεν ἑαυτω̨̃ τὴν Μααχα θυγατέρα Αβεσσαλωμ καὶ ἔτεκεν αὐτω̨̃ τὸν Αβια καὶ τὸν Ιεθθι καὶ τὸν Ζιζα καὶ τὸν Εμμωθ (Ⅲ) - Post hanc quoque accepit Maacha filiam Absalom, quæ peperit ei Abia, et Ethai, et Ziza, et Salomith. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃11 ואחריה לקח את מעכה בת אבשלום ותלד לו את אביה ואת עתי ואת זיזא ואת שלמית (Ⅴ)

And Rehoboam loved Maachah the daughter of Absalom above all his wives and his concubines: (for he took eighteen wives, and threescore concubines; and begat twenty and eight sons, and threescore daughters.)
- Roboam aimait Maaca, fille d'Absalom, plus que toutes ses femmes et ses concubines; car il eut dix-huit femmes et soixante concubines, et il engendra vingt-huit fils et soixante filles. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠγάπησεν Ροβοαμ τὴν Μααχαν θυγατέρα Αβεσσαλωμ ὑπὲρ πάσας τὰς γυναι̃κας αὐτου̃ καὶ τὰς παλλακὰς αὐτου̃ ὅτι γυναι̃κας δέκα ὀκτὼ εἰ̃χεν καὶ παλλακὰς τριάκοντα καὶ ἐγέννησεν υἱοὺς εἴκοσι ὀκτὼ καὶ θυγατέρας ἑξήκοντα (Ⅲ) - Amavit autem Roboam Maacha filiam Absalom super omnes uxores suas et concubinas : nam uxores decem et octo duxerat, concubinas autem sexaginta : et genuit viginti octo filios, et sexaginta filias. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃11 ויאהב רחבעם את מעכה בת אבשלום מכל נשיו ופילגשיו כי נשים שמונה עשרה נשא ופילגשים ששים ויולד עשרים ושמונה בנים וששים בנות (Ⅴ)

And Rehoboam made Abijah the son of Maachah the chief, to be ruler among his brethren: for he thought to make him king.
- Roboam donna le premier rang à Abija, fils de Maaca, et l'établit chef parmi ses frères, car il voulait le faire roi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατέστησεν εἰς ἄρχοντα Ροβοαμ τὸν Αβια τὸν τη̃ς Μααχα εἰς ἡγούμενον ἐν τοι̃ς ἀδελφοι̃ς αὐτου̃ ὅτι βασιλευ̃σαι διενοει̃το αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Constituit vero in capite Abiam filium Maacha ducem super omnes fratres suos : ipsum enim regem facere cogitabat, (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃11 ויעמד לראש רחבעם את אביה בן מעכה לנגיד באחיו כי להמליכו (Ⅴ)

And he dealt wisely, and dispersed of all his children throughout all the countries of Judah and Benjamin, unto every fenced city: and he gave them victual in abundance. And he desired many wives.
- Il agit avec habileté en dispersant tous ses fils dans toutes les contrées de Juda et de Benjamin, dans toutes les villes fortes; il leur fournit des vivres en abondance, et demanda pour eux une multitude de femmes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ηὐξήθη παρὰ πάντας τοὺς υἱοὺς αὐτου̃ ἐν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ὁρίοις Ιουδα καὶ Βενιαμιν καὶ ἐν ται̃ς πόλεσιν ται̃ς ὀχυραι̃ς καὶ ἔδωκεν αὐται̃ς τροφὰς πλη̃θος πολὺ καὶ ἠ̨τήσατο πλη̃θος γυναικω̃ν (Ⅲ) - quia sapientior fuit, et potentior super omnes filios ejus, et in cunctis finibus Juda et Benjamin, et in universis civitatibus muratis : præbuitque eis escas plurimas, et multas petivit uxores. (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃11 ויבן ויפרץ מכל בניו לכל ארצות יהודה ובנימן לכל ערי המצרות ויתן להם המזון לרב וישאל המון נשים (Ⅴ)
