καὶ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς Μωυση̃ν λέγων
- L'Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit: (Ⅱ) - And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, (Ⅲ) - Ibique locutus est Dominus ad Moysen, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃13 וידבר יהוה אל משה לאמר (Ⅴ)

ἀπόστειλον σεαυτω̨̃ ἄνδρας καὶ κατασκεψάσθωσαν τὴν γη̃ν τω̃ν Χαναναίων ἣν ἐγὼ δίδωμι τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Ισραηλ εἰς κατάσχεσιν ἄνδρα ἕνα κατὰ φυλὴν κατὰ δήμους πατριω̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἀποστελει̃ς αὐτούς πάντα ἀρχηγὸν ἐξ αὐτω̃ν
- Envoie des hommes pour explorer le pays de Canaan, que je donne aux enfants d'Israël. Tu enverras un homme de chacune des tribus de leurs pères; tous seront des principaux d'entre eux. (Ⅱ) - Send thou men, that they may search the land of Canaan, which I give unto the children of Israel: of every tribe of their fathers shall ye send a man, every one a ruler among them. (Ⅲ) - Mitte viros, qui considerent terram Chanaan, quam daturus sum filiis Israël, singulos de singulis tribubus, ex principibus. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃13 שלח לך אנשים ויתרו את ארץ כנען אשר אני נתן לבני ישראל איש אחד איש אחד למטה אבתיו תשלחו כל נשיא בהם (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Μωυση̃ς ἐκ τη̃ς ἐρήμου Φαραν διὰ φωνη̃ς κυρίου πάντες ἄνδρες ἀρχηγοὶ υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ οὑ̃τοι
- Moïse les envoya du désert de Paran, d'après l'ordre de l'Éternel; tous ces hommes étaient chefs des enfants d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - And Moses by the commandment of the LORD sent them from the wilderness of Paran: all those men were heads of the children of Israel. (Ⅲ) - Fecit Moyses quod Dominus imperaverat, de deserto Pharan mittens principes viros, quorum ista sunt nomina. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃13 וישלח אתם משה ממדבר פארן על פי יהוה כלם אנשים ראשי בני ישראל המה (Ⅴ)

- Voici leurs noms. Pour la tribu de Ruben: Schammua, fils de Zaccur; (Ⅱ) - And these were their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur. (Ⅲ) - De tribu Ruben, Sammua filium Zechur. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃13 ואלה שמותם למטה ראובן שמוע בן זכור (Ⅴ)

- Tels sont les noms des hommes que Moïse envoya pour explorer le pays. Moïse donna à Hosée, fils de Nun, le nom de Josué. (Ⅱ) - These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua. (Ⅲ) - Hæc sunt nomina virorum, quos misit Moyses ad considerandam terram : vocavitque Osee filium Nun, Josue.\ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃13 אלה שמות האנשים אשר שלח משה לתור את הארץ ויקרא משה להושע בן נון יהושע (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτοὺς Μωυση̃ς κατασκέψασθαι τὴν γη̃ν Χανααν καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἀνάβητε ταύτη̨ τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ καὶ ἀναβήσεσθε εἰς τὸ ὄρος
- Moïse les envoya pour explorer le pays de Canaan. Il leur dit: Montez ici, par le midi; et vous monterez sur la montagne. (Ⅱ) - And Moses sent them to spy out the land of Canaan, and said unto them, Get you up this way southward, and go up into the mountain: (Ⅲ) - Misit ergo eos Moyses ad considerandam terram Chanaan, et dixit ad eos : Ascendite per meridianam plagam. Cumque veneritis ad montes, (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃13 וישלח אתם משה לתור את ארץ כנען ויאמר אלהם עלו זה בנגב ועליתם את ההר (Ⅴ)

καὶ ὄψεσθε τὴν γη̃ν τίς ἐστιν καὶ τὸν λαὸν τὸν ἐγκαθήμενον ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς εἰ ἰσχυρότερός ἐστιν ἢ ἀσθενής εἰ ὀλίγοι εἰσὶν ἢ πολλοί
- Vous verrez le pays, ce qu'il est, et le peuple qui l'habite, s'il est fort ou faible, s'il est en petit ou en grand nombre; (Ⅱ) - And see the land, what it is, and the people that dwelleth therein, whether they be strong or weak, few or many; (Ⅲ) - considerate terram, qualis sit : et populum qui habitator est ejus, utrum fortis sit an infirmus : si pauci numero an plures : (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃13 וראיתם את הארץ מה הוא ואת העם הישב עליה החזק הוא הרפה המעט הוא אם רב (Ⅴ)

καὶ τίς ἡ γη̃ εἰς ἣν οὑ̃τοι ἐγκάθηνται ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς εἰ καλή ἐστιν ἢ πονηρά καὶ τίνες αἱ πόλεις εἰς ἃς οὑ̃τοι κατοικου̃σιν ἐν αὐται̃ς εἰ ἐν τειχήρεσιν ἢ ἐν ἀτειχίστοις
- ce qu'est le pays où il habite, s'il est bon ou mauvais; ce que sont les villes où il habite, si elles sont ouvertes ou fortifiées; (Ⅱ) - And what the land is that they dwell in, whether it be good or bad; and what cities they be that they dwell in, whether in tents, or in strong holds; (Ⅲ) - ipsa terra, bona an mala : urbes quales, muratæ an absque muris : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃13 ומה הארץ אשר הוא ישב בה הטובה הוא אם רעה ומה הערים אשר הוא יושב בהנה הבמחנים אם במבצרים (Ⅴ)

καὶ τίς ἡ γη̃ εἰ πίων ἢ παρειμένη εἰ ἔστιν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ δένδρα ἢ οὔ καὶ προσκαρτερήσαντες λήμψεσθε ἀπὸ τω̃ν καρπω̃ν τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ αἱ ἡμέραι ἡμέραι ἔαρος πρόδρομοι σταφυλη̃ς
- ce qu'est le terrain, s'il est gras ou maigre, s'il y a des arbres ou s'il n'y en a point. Ayez bon courage, et prenez des fruits du pays. C'était le temps des premiers raisins. (Ⅱ) - And what the land is, whether it be fat or lean, whether there be wood therein, or not. And be ye of good courage, and bring of the fruit of the land. Now the time was the time of the first ripe grapes. (Ⅲ) - humus, pinguis an sterilis, nemorosa an absque arboribus. Confortamini, et afferte nobis de fructibus terræ. Erat autem tempus quando jam præcoquæ uvæ vesci possunt. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃13 ומה הארץ השמנה הוא אם רזה היש בה עץ אם אין והתחזקתם ולקחתם מפרי הארץ והימים ימי בכורי ענבים (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἀναβάντες κατεσκέψαντο τὴν γη̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἐρήμου Σιν ἕως Ρααβ εἰσπορευομένων Εφααθ
- Ils montèrent, et ils explorèrent le pays, depuis le désert de Tsin jusqu'à Rehob, sur le chemin de Hamath. (Ⅱ) - So they went up, and searched the land from the wilderness of Zin unto Rehob, as men come to Hamath. (Ⅲ) - Cumque ascendissent, exploraverunt terram a deserto Sin, usque Rohob intrantibus Emath. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃13 ויעלו ויתרו את הארץ ממדבר צן עד רחב לבא חמת (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἀνέβησαν κατὰ τὴν ἔρημον καὶ ἠ̃λθον ἕως Χεβρων καὶ ἐκει̃ Αχιμαν καὶ Σεσσι καὶ Θελαμιν γενεαὶ Εναχ καὶ Χεβρων ἑπτὰ ἔτεσιν ὠ̨κοδομήθη πρὸ του̃ Τάνιν Αἰγύπτου
- Ils montèrent, par le midi, et ils allèrent jusqu'à Hébron, où étaient Ahiman, Schéschaï et Talmaï, enfants d'Anak. Hébron avait été bâtie sept ans avant Tsoan en Égypte. (Ⅱ) - And they ascended by the south, and came unto Hebron; where Ahiman, Sheshai, and Talmai, the children of Anak, were. (Now Hebron was built seven years before Zoan in Egypt.) (Ⅲ) - Ascenderuntque ad meridiem, et venerunt in Hebron, ubi erant Achiman et Sisai et Tholmai filii Enac : nam Hebron septem annis ante Tanim urbem Ægypti condita est. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃13 ויעלו בנגב ויבא עד חברון ושם אחימן ששי ותלמי ילידי הענק וחברון שבע שנים נבנתה לפני צען מצרים (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἤλθοσαν ἕως Φάραγγος βότρυος καὶ κατεσκέψαντο αὐτήν καὶ ἔκοψαν ἐκει̃θεν κλη̃μα καὶ βότρυν σταφυλη̃ς ἕνα ἐπ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἠ̃ραν αὐτὸν ἐπ' ἀναφορευ̃σιν καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν ῥοω̃ν καὶ ἀπὸ τω̃ν συκω̃ν
- Ils arrivèrent jusqu'à la vallée d'Eschcol, où ils coupèrent une branche de vigne avec une grappe de raisin, qu'ils portèrent à deux au moyen d'une perche; ils prirent aussi des grenades et des figues. (Ⅱ) - And they came unto the brook of Eshcol, and cut down from thence a branch with one cluster of grapes, and they bare it between two upon a staff; and they brought of the pomegranates, and of the figs. (Ⅲ) - Pergentesque usque ad Torrentem botri, absciderunt palmitem cum uva sua, quem portaverunt in vecte duo viri. De malis quoque granatis et de ficis loci illius tulerunt : (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃13 ויבאו עד נחל אשכל ויכרתו משם זמורה ואשכול ענבים אחד וישאהו במוט בשנים ומן הרמנים ומן התאנים (Ⅴ)

τὸν τόπον ἐκει̃νον ἐπωνόμασαν Φάραγξ βότρυος διὰ τὸν βότρυν ὃν ἔκοψαν ἐκει̃θεν οἱ υἱοὶ Ισραηλ
- On donna à ce lieu le nom de vallée d'Eschcol, à cause de la grappe que les enfants d'Israël y coupèrent. (Ⅱ) - The place was called the brook Eshcol, because of the cluster of grapes which the children of Israel cut down from thence. (Ⅲ) - qui appellatus est Nehelescol, id est Torrens botri, eo quod botrum portassent inde filii Israël.\ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃13 למקום ההוא קרא נחל אשכול על אדות האשכול אשר כרתו משם בני ישראל (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἀπέστρεψαν ἐκει̃θεν κατασκεψάμενοι τὴν γη̃ν μετὰ τεσσαράκοντα ἡμέρας
- Ils furent de retour de l'exploration du pays au bout de quarante jours. (Ⅱ) - And they returned from searching of the land after forty days. (Ⅲ) - Reversique exploratores terræ post quadraginta dies, omni regione circuita, (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃13 וישבו מתור הארץ מקץ ארבעים יום (Ⅴ)

καὶ πορευθέντες ἠ̃λθον πρὸς Μωυση̃ν καὶ Ααρων καὶ πρὸς πα̃σαν συναγωγὴν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ εἰς τὴν ἔρημον Φαραν Καδης καὶ ἀπεκρίθησαν αὐτοι̃ς ῥη̃μα καὶ πάση̨ τη̨̃ συναγωγη̨̃ καὶ ἔδειξαν τὸν καρπὸν τη̃ς γη̃ς
- A leur arrivée, ils se rendirent auprès de Moïse et d'Aaron, et de toute l'assemblée des enfants d'Israël, à Kadès dans le désert de Paran. Ils leur firent un rapport, ainsi qu'à toute l'assemblée, et ils leur montrèrent les fruits du pays. (Ⅱ) - And they went and came to Moses, and to Aaron, and to all the congregation of the children of Israel, unto the wilderness of Paran, to Kadesh; and brought back word unto them, and unto all the congregation, and showed them the fruit of the land. (Ⅲ) - venerunt ad Moysen et Aaron et ad omnem cœtum filiorum Israël in desertum Pharan, quod est in Cades. Locutique eis et omni multitudini ostenderunt fructus terræ : (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃13 וילכו ויבאו אל משה ואל אהרן ואל כל עדת בני ישראל אל מדבר פארן קדשה וישיבו אותם דבר ואת כל העדה ויראום את פרי הארץ (Ⅴ)

καὶ διηγήσαντο αὐτω̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃παν ἤλθαμεν εἰς τὴν γη̃ν εἰς ἣν ἀπέστειλας ἡμα̃ς γη̃ν ῥέουσαν γάλα καὶ μέλι καὶ οὑ̃τος ὁ καρπὸς αὐτη̃ς
- Voici ce qu'ils racontèrent à Moïse: Nous sommes allés dans le pays où tu nous as envoyés. A la vérité, c'est un pays où coulent le lait et le miel, et en voici les fruits. (Ⅱ) - And they told him, and said, We came unto the land whither thou sentest us, and surely it floweth with milk and honey; and this is the fruit of it. (Ⅲ) - et narraverunt, dicentes : Venimus in terram, ad quam misisti nos, quæ revera fluit lacte et melle, ut ex his fructibus cognosci potest : (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃13 ויספרו לו ויאמרו באנו אל הארץ אשר שלחתנו וגם זבת חלב ודבש הוא וזה פריה (Ⅴ)

ἀλλ' ἢ ὅτι θρασὺ τὸ ἔθνος τὸ κατοικου̃ν ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς καὶ αἱ πόλεις ὀχυραὶ τετειχισμέναι καὶ μεγάλαι σφόδρα καὶ τὴν γενεὰν Εναχ ἑωράκαμεν ἐκει̃
- Mais le peuple qui habite ce pays est puissant, les villes sont fortifiées, très grandes; nous y avons vu des enfants d'Anak. (Ⅱ) - Nevertheless the people be strong that dwell in the land, and the cities are walled, and very great: and moreover we saw the children of Anak there. (Ⅲ) - sed cultores fortissimos habet, et urbes grandes atque muratas. Stirpem Enac vidimus ibi. (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃13 אפס כי עז העם הישב בארץ והערים בצרות גדלת מאד וגם ילדי הענק ראינו שם (Ⅴ)

καὶ Αμαληκ κατοικει̃ ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ τη̨̃ πρὸς νότον καὶ ὁ Χετται̃ος καὶ ὁ Ευαι̃ος καὶ ὁ Ιεβουσαι̃ος καὶ ὁ Αμορραι̃ος κατοικει̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ὀρεινη̨̃ καὶ ὁ Χαναναι̃ος κατοικει̃ παρὰ θάλασσαν καὶ παρὰ τὸν Ιορδάνην ποταμόν
- Les Amalécites habitent la contrée du midi; les Héthiens, les Jébusiens et les Amoréens habitent la montagne; et les Cananéens habitent près de la mer et le long du Jourdain. (Ⅱ) - The Amalekites dwell in the land of the south: and the Hittites, and the Jebusites, and the Amorites, dwell in the mountains: and the Canaanites dwell by the sea, and by the coast of Jordan. (Ⅲ) - Amalec habitat in meridie, Hethæus et Jebusæus et Amorrhæus in montanis : Chananæus vero moratur juxta mare et circa fluenta Jordanis. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃13 עמלק יושב בארץ הנגב והחתי והיבוסי והאמרי יושב בהר והכנעני ישב על הים ועל יד הירדן (Ⅴ)

καὶ κατεσιώπησεν Χαλεβ τὸν λαὸν πρὸς Μωυση̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ οὐχί ἀλλὰ ἀναβάντες ἀναβησόμεθα καὶ κατακληρονομήσομεν αὐτήν ὅτι δυνατοὶ δυνησόμεθα πρὸς αὐτούς
- Caleb fit taire le peuple, qui murmurait contre Moïse. Il dit: Montons, emparons-nous du pays, nous y serons vainqueurs! (Ⅱ) - And Caleb stilled the people before Moses, and said, Let us go up at once, and possess it; for we are well able to overcome it. (Ⅲ) - Inter hæc Caleb compescens murmur populi, qui oriebatur contra Moysen, ait : Ascendamus, et possideamus terram, quoniam poterimus obtinere eam. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃13 ויהס כלב את העם אל משה ויאמר עלה נעלה וירשנו אתה כי יכול נוכל לה (Ⅴ)

καὶ οἱ ἄνθρωποι οἱ συναναβάντες μετ' αὐτου̃ εἰ̃παν οὐκ ἀναβαίνομεν ὅτι οὐ μὴ δυνώμεθα ἀναβη̃ναι πρὸς τὸ ἔθνος ὅτι ἰσχυρότερόν ἐστιν ἡμω̃ν μα̃λλον
- Mais les hommes qui y étaient allés avec lui dirent: Nous ne pouvons pas monter contre ce peuple, car il est plus fort que nous. (Ⅱ) - But the men that went up with him said, We be not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we. καὶ ἐξήνεγκαν ἔκστασιν τη̃ς γη̃ς ἣν κατεσκέψαντο αὐτήν πρὸς τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ λέγοντες τὴν γη̃ν ἣν παρήλθομεν αὐτὴν κατασκέψασθαι γη̃ κατέσθουσα τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας ἐπ' αὐτη̃ς ἐστιν πα̃ς ὁ λαός ὃν ἑωράκαμεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἄνδρες ὑπερμήκεις
- Et ils décrièrent devant les enfants d'Israël le pays qu'ils avaient exploré. Ils dirent: Le pays que nous avons parcouru, pour l'explorer, est un pays qui dévore ses habitants; tous ceux que nous y avons vus sont des hommes d'une haute taille; (Ⅱ) - And they brought up an evil report of the land which they had searched unto the children of Israel, saying, The land, through which we have gone to search it, is a land that eateth up the inhabitants thereof; and all the people that we saw in it are men of a great stature. (Ⅲ) - Detraxeruntque terræ, quam inspexerant, apud filios Israël, dicentes : Terra, quam lustravimus, devorat habitatores suos : populus, quem aspeximus, proceræ staturæ est. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃13 ויוציאו דבת הארץ אשר תרו אתה אל בני ישראל לאמר הארץ אשר עברנו בה לתור אתה ארץ אכלת יושביה הוא וכל העם אשר ראינו בתוכה אנשי מדות (Ⅴ)

καὶ ἐκει̃ ἑωράκαμεν τοὺς γίγαντας καὶ ἠ̃μεν ἐνώπιον αὐτω̃ν ὡσεὶ ἀκρίδες ἀλλὰ καὶ οὕτως ἠ̃μεν ἐνώπιον αὐτω̃ν
- et nous y avons vu les géants, enfants d'Anak, de la race des géants: nous étions à nos yeux et aux leurs comme des sauterelles. (Ⅱ) - And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. (Ⅲ) - Ibi vidimus monstra quædam filiorum Enac de genere giganteo : quibus comparati, quasi locustæ videbamur. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃13 ושם ראינו את הנפילים בני ענק מן הנפלים ונהי בעינינו כחגבים וכן היינו בעיניהם (Ⅴ)
