Samuel also said unto Saul, The LORD sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the LORD.
- Samuel dit à Saül: C'est moi que l'Éternel a envoyé pour t'oindre roi sur son peuple, sur Israël: écoute donc ce que dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς Σαουλ ἐμὲ ἀπέστειλεν κύριος χρι̃σαί σε εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ νυ̃ν ἄκουε τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Samuel ad Saul : Me misit Dominus ut ungerem te in regem super populum ejus Israël : nunc ergo audi vocem Domini. Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Je me souviens de ce qu'Amalek fit à Israël, lorsqu'il lui ferma le chemin à sa sortie d'Égypte. (Ⅱ) - τάδε εἰ̃πεν κύριος σαβαωθ νυ̃ν ἐκδικήσω ἃ ἐποίησεν Αμαληκ τω̨̃ Ισραηλ ὡς ἀπήντησεν αὐτω̨̃ ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ἀναβαίνοντος αὐτου̃ ἐξ Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ) - Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Recensui quæcumque fecit Amalec Israëli : quomodo restitit ei in via cum ascenderet de Ægypto. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃15 כה אמר יהוה צבאות פקדתי את אשר עשה עמלק לישראל אשר שם לו בדרך בעלתו ממצרים (Ⅴ)

Now go and smite Amalek, and utterly destroy all that they have, and spare them not; but slay both man and woman, infant and suckling, ox and sheep, camel and ass.
- Va maintenant, frappe Amalek, et dévouez par interdit tout ce qui lui appartient; tu ne l'épargneras point, et tu feras mourir hommes et femmes, enfants et nourrissons, boeufs et brebis, chameaux et ânes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν πορεύου καὶ πατάξεις τὸν Αμαληκ καὶ Ιεριμ καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐ περιποιήση̨ ἐξ αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐξολεθρεύσεις αὐτὸν καὶ ἀναθεματιει̃ς αὐτὸν καὶ πάντα τὰ αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐ φείση̨ ἀπ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀποκτενει̃ς ἀπὸ ἀνδρὸς καὶ ἕως γυναικὸς καὶ ἀπὸ νηπίου ἕως θηλάζοντος καὶ ἀπὸ μόσχου ἕως προβάτου καὶ ἀπὸ καμήλου ἕως ὄνου (Ⅲ) - Nunc ergo vade, et percute Amalec, et demolire universa ejus : non parcas ei, et non concupiscas ex rebus ipsius aliquid, sed interfice a viro usque ad mulierem, et parvulum atque lactentem, bovem et ovem, camelum et asinum. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃15 עתה לך והכיתה את עמלק והחרמתם את כל אשר לו ולא תחמל עליו והמתה מאיש עד אשה מעלל ועד יונק משור ועד שה מגמל ועד חמור ס (Ⅴ)

And Saul gathered the people together, and numbered them in Telaim, two hundred thousand footmen, and ten thousand men of Judah.
- Saül convoqua le peuple, et en fit la revue à Thelaïm: il y avait deux cent mille hommes de pied, et dix mille hommes de Juda. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρήγγειλεν Σαουλ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ καὶ ἐπισκέπτεται αὐτοὺς ἐν Γαλγαλοις τετρακοσίας χιλιάδας ταγμάτων καὶ τὸν Ιουδαν τριάκοντα χιλιάδας ταγμάτων (Ⅲ) - Præcepit itaque Saul populo, et recensuit eos quasi agnos : ducenta millia peditum, et decem millia virorum Juda. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃15 וישמע שאול את העם ויפקדם בטלאים מאתים אלף רגלי ועשרת אלפים את איש יהודה (Ⅴ)

And Saul came to a city of Amalek, and laid wait in the valley.
- Saül marcha jusqu'à la ville d'Amalek, et mit une embuscade dans la vallée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃λθεν Σαουλ ἕως τω̃ν πόλεων Αμαληκ καὶ ἐνήδρευσεν ἐν τω̨̃ χειμάρρω̨ (Ⅲ) - Cumque venisset Saul usque ad civitatem Amalec, tetendit insidias in torrente. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃15 ויבא שאול עד עיר עמלק וירב בנחל (Ⅴ)

And Saul said unto the Kenites, Go, depart, get you down from among the Amalekites, lest I destroy you with them: for ye showed kindness to all the children of Israel, when they came up out of Egypt. So the Kenites departed from among the Amalekites.
- Il dit aux Kéniens: Allez, retirez-vous, sortez du milieu d'Amalek, afin que je ne vous fasse pas périr avec lui; car vous avez eu de la bonté pour tous les enfants d'Israël, lorsqu'ils montèrent d'Égypte. Et les Kéniens se retirèrent du milieu d'Amalek. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ πρὸς τὸν Κιναι̃ον ἄπελθε καὶ ἔκκλινον ἐκ μέσου του̃ Αμαληκίτου μὴ προσθω̃ σε μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ σὺ ἐποίησας ἔλεος μετὰ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Ισραηλ ἐν τω̨̃ ἀναβαίνειν αὐτοὺς ἐξ Αἰγύπτου καὶ ἐξέκλινεν ὁ Κιναι̃ος ἐκ μέσου Αμαληκ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Saul Cinæo : Abite, recedite, atque descendite ab Amalec, ne forte involvam te cum eo : tu enim fecisti misericordiam cum omnibus filiis Israël, cum ascenderent de Ægypto. And Saul smote the Amalekites from Havilah until thou comest to Shur, that is over against Egypt.
- Saül battit Amalek depuis Havila jusqu'à Schur, qui est en face de l'Égypte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν Σαουλ τὸν Αμαληκ ἀπὸ Ευιλατ ἕως Σουρ ἐπὶ προσώπου Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ) - Percussitque Saul Amalec ab Hevila donec venias ad Sur, quæ est e regione Ægypti. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃15 ויך שאול את עמלק מחוילה בואך שור אשר על פני מצרים (Ⅴ)

And he took Agag the king of the Amalekites alive, and utterly destroyed all the people with the edge of the sword.
- Il prit vivant Agag, roi d'Amalek, et il dévoua par interdit tout le peuple en le passant au fil de l'épée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνέλαβεν τὸν Αγαγ βασιλέα Αμαληκ ζω̃ντα καὶ πάντα τὸν λαὸν Ιεριμ ἀπέκτεινεν ἐν στόματι ῥομφαίας (Ⅲ) - Et apprehendit Agag regem Amalec vivum : omne autem vulgus interfecit in ore gladii. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃15 ויתפש את אגג מלך עמלק חי ואת כל העם החרים לפי חרב (Ⅴ)

But Saul and the people spared Agag, and the best of the sheep, and of the oxen, and of the fatlings, and the lambs, and all that was good, and would not utterly destroy them: but every thing that was vile and refuse, that they destroyed utterly.
- Mais Saül et le peuple épargnèrent Agag, et les meilleures brebis, les meilleurs boeufs, les meilleures bêtes de la seconde portée, les agneaux gras, et tout ce qu'il y avait de bon; ils ne voulurent pas le dévouer par interdit, et ils dévouèrent seulement tout ce qui était méprisable et chétif. (Ⅱ) - καὶ περιεποιήσατο Σαουλ καὶ πα̃ς ὁ λαὸς τὸν Αγαγ ζω̃ντα καὶ τὰ ἀγαθὰ τω̃ν ποιμνίων καὶ τω̃ν βουκολίων καὶ τω̃ν ἐδεσμάτων καὶ τω̃ν ἀμπελώνων καὶ πάντων τω̃ν ἀγαθω̃ν καὶ οὐκ ἐβούλετο αὐτὰ ἐξολεθρευ̃σαι καὶ πα̃ν ἔργον ἠτιμωμένον καὶ ἐξουδενωμένον ἐξωλέθρευσαν (Ⅲ) - Et pepercit Saul et populus Agag, et optimis gregibus ovium et armentorum, et vestibus et arietibus, et universis quæ pulchra erant, nec voluerunt disperdere ea : quidquid vero vile fuit et reprobum, hoc demoliti sunt.\ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃15 ויחמל שאול והעם על אגג ועל מיטב הצאן והבקר והמשנים ועל הכרים ועל כל הטוב ולא אבו החרימם וכל המלאכה נמבזה ונמס אתה החרימו פ (Ⅴ)

Then came the word of the LORD unto Samuel, saying,
- L'Éternel adressa la parole à Samuel, et lui dit: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγενήθη ῥη̃μα κυρίου πρὸς Σαμουηλ λέγων (Ⅲ) - Factum est autem verbum Domini ad Samuel, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃15 ויהי דבר יהוה אל שמואל לאמר (Ⅴ)

It repenteth me that I have set up Saul to be king: for he is turned back from following me, and hath not performed my commandments. And it grieved Samuel; and he cried unto the LORD all night.
- Je me repens d'avoir établi Saül pour roi, car il se détourne de moi et il n'observe point mes paroles. Samuel fut irrité, et il cria à l'Éternel toute la nuit. (Ⅱ) - παρακέκλημαι ὅτι ἐβασίλευσα τὸν Σαουλ εἰς βασιλέα ὅτι ἀπέστρεψεν ἀπὸ ὄπισθέν μου καὶ τοὺς λόγους μου οὐκ ἐτήρησεν καὶ ἠθύμησεν Σαμουηλ καὶ ἐβόησεν πρὸς κύριον ὅλην τὴν νύκτα (Ⅲ) - Pœnitet me quod constituerim Saul regem : quia dereliquit me, et verba mea opere non implevit. Contristatusque est Samuel, et clamavit ad Dominum tota nocte. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃15 נחמתי כי המלכתי את שאול למלך כי שב מאחרי ואת דברי לא הקים ויחר לשמואל ויזעק אל יהוה כל הלילה (Ⅴ)

And when Samuel rose early to meet Saul in the morning, it was told Samuel, saying, Saul came to Carmel, and, behold, he set him up a place, and is gone about, and passed on, and gone down to Gilgal.
- Il se leva de bon matin, pour aller au-devant de Saül. Et on vint lui dire: Saül est allé à Carmel, et voici, il s'est érigé un monument; puis il s'en est retourné, et, passant plus loin, il est descendu à Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὤρθρισεν Σαμουηλ καὶ ἐπορεύθη εἰς ἀπάντησιν Ισραηλ πρωί καὶ ἀπηγγέλη τω̨̃ Σαμουηλ λέγοντες ἥκει Σαουλ εἰς Κάρμηλον καὶ ἀνέστακεν αὐτω̨̃ χει̃ρα καὶ ἐπέστρεψεν τὸ ἅρμα καὶ κατέβη εἰς Γαλγαλα πρὸς Σαουλ καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἀνέφερεν ὁλοκαύτωσιν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ τὰ πρω̃τα τω̃ν σκύλων ὡ̃ν ἤνεγκεν ἐξ Αμαληκ (Ⅲ) - Cumque de nocte surrexisset Samuel ut iret ad Saul mane, nuntiatum est Samueli eo quod venisset Saul in Carmelum, et erexisset sibi fornicem triumphalem, et reversus transisset, descendissetque in Galgala. Venit ergo Samuel ad Saul, et Saul offerebat holocaustum Domino de initiis prædarum quæ attulerat ex Amalec. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃15 וישכם שמואל לקראת שאול בבקר ויגד לשמואל לאמר בא שאול הכרמלה והנה מציב לו יד ויסב ויעבר וירד הגלגל (Ⅴ)

And Samuel came to Saul: and Saul said unto him, Blessed be thou of the LORD: I have performed the commandment of the LORD.
- Samuel se rendit auprès de Saül, et Saül lui dit: Sois béni de l'Éternel! J'ai observé la parole de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρεγένετο Σαμουηλ πρὸς Σαουλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Σαουλ εὐλογητὸς σὺ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ ἔστησα πάντα ὅσα ἐλάλησεν κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et cum venisset Samuel ad Saul, dixit ei Saul : Benedictus tu Domino : implevi verbum Domini. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃15 ויבא שמואל אל שאול ויאמר לו שאול ברוך אתה ליהוה הקימתי את דבר יהוה (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said, What meaneth then this bleating of the sheep in mine ears, and the lowing of the oxen which I hear?
- Samuel dit: Qu'est-ce donc que ce bêlement de brebis qui parvient à mes oreilles, et ce mugissement de boeufs que j'entends? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ καὶ τίς ἡ φωνὴ του̃ ποιμνίου τούτου ἐν τοι̃ς ὠσίν μου καὶ φωνὴ τω̃ν βοω̃ν ὡ̃ν ἐγὼ ἀκούω (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Samuel : Et quæ est hæc vox gregum, quæ resonat in auribus meis, et armentorum, quam ego audio ? (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל ומה קול הצאן הזה באזני וקול הבקר אשר אנכי שמע (Ⅴ)

And Saul said, They have brought them from the Amalekites: for the people spared the best of the sheep and of the oxen, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God; and the rest we have utterly destroyed.
- Saül répondit: Ils les ont amenés de chez les Amalécites, parce que le peuple a épargné les meilleures brebis et les meilleurs boeufs, afin de les sacrifier à l'Éternel, ton Dieu; et le reste, nous l'avons dévoué par interdit. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ ἐξ Αμαληκ ἤνεγκα αὐτά ἃ περιεποιήσατο ὁ λαός τὰ κράτιστα του̃ ποιμνίου καὶ τω̃ν βοω̃ν ὅπως τυθη̨̃ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ σου καὶ τὰ λοιπὰ ἐξωλέθρευσα (Ⅲ) - Et ait Saul : De Amalec adduxerunt ea : pepercit enim populus melioribus ovibus et armentis ut immolarentur Domino Deo tuo, reliqua vero occidimus. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃15 ויאמר שאול מעמלקי הביאום אשר חמל העם על מיטב הצאן והבקר למען זבח ליהוה אלהיך ואת היותר החרמנו ס (Ⅴ)

Then Samuel said unto Saul, Stay, and I will tell thee what the LORD hath said to me this night. And he said unto him, Say on.
- Samuel dit à Saül: Arrête, et je te déclarerai ce que l'Éternel m'a dit cette nuit. Et Saül lui dit: Parle! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς Σαουλ ἄνες καὶ ἀπαγγελω̃ σοι ἃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρός με τὴν νύκτα καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ λάλησον (Ⅲ) - Ait autem Samuel ad Saul : Sine me, et indicabo tibi quæ locutus sit Dominus ad me nocte. Dixitque ei : Loquere. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל אל שאול הרף ואגידה לך את אשר דבר יהוה אלי הלילה *ויאמרו **ויאמר לו דבר ס (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said, When thou wast little in thine own sight, wast thou not made the head of the tribes of Israel, and the LORD anointed thee king over Israel?
- Samuel dit: Lorsque tu étais petit à tes yeux, n'es-tu pas devenu le chef des tribus d'Israël, et l'Éternel ne t'a-t-il pas oint pour que tu sois roi sur Israël? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς Σαουλ οὐχὶ μικρὸς σὺ εἰ̃ ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ ἡγούμενος σκήπτρου φυλη̃ς Ισραηλ καὶ ἔχρισέν σε κύριος εἰς βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Et ait Samuel : Nonne cum parvulus esses in oculis tuis, caput in tribubus Israël factus es ? unxitque te Dominus in regem super Israël, (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל הלוא אם קטן אתה בעיניך ראש שבטי ישראל אתה וימשחך יהוה למלך על ישראל (Ⅴ)

And the LORD sent thee on a journey, and said, Go and utterly destroy the sinners the Amalekites, and fight against them until they be consumed.
- L'Éternel t'avait fait partir, en disant: Va, et dévoue par interdit ces pécheurs, les Amalécites; tu leur feras la guerre jusqu'à ce que tu les aies exterminés. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλέν σε κύριος ἐν ὁδω̨̃ καὶ εἰ̃πέν σοι πορεύθητι καὶ ἐξολέθρευσον τοὺς ἁμαρτάνοντας εἰς ἐμέ τὸν Αμαληκ καὶ πολεμήσεις αὐτούς ἕως συντελέση̨ς αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - et misit te Dominus in viam, et ait : Vade, et interfice peccatores Amalec, et pugnabis contra eos usque ad internecionem eorum ? (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃15 וישלחך יהוה בדרך ויאמר לך והחרמתה את החטאים את עמלק ונלחמת בו עד כלותם אתם (Ⅴ)

Wherefore then didst thou not obey the voice of the LORD, but didst fly upon the spoil, and didst evil in the sight of the LORD?
- Pourquoi n'as-tu pas écouté la voix de l'Éternel? pourquoi t'es-tu jeté sur le butin, et as-tu fait ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἵνα τί οὐκ ἤκουσας τη̃ς φωνη̃ς κυρίου ἀλλ' ὥρμησας του̃ θέσθαι ἐπὶ τὰ σκυ̃λα καὶ ἐποίησας τὸ πονηρὸν ἐνώπιον κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Quare ergo non audisti vocem Domini : sed versus ad prædam es, et fecisti malum in oculis Domini ? (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃15 ולמה לא שמעת בקול יהוה ותעט אל השלל ותעש הרע בעיני יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

And Saul said unto Samuel, Yea, I have obeyed the voice of the LORD, and have gone the way which the LORD sent me, and have brought Agag the king of Amalek, and have utterly destroyed the Amalekites.
- Saül répondit à Samuel: J'ai bien écouté la voix de l'Éternel, et j'ai suivi le chemin par lequel m'envoyait l'Éternel. J'ai amené Agag, roi d'Amalek, et j'ai dévoué par interdit les Amalécites; (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ πρὸς Σαμουηλ διὰ τὸ ἀκου̃σαί με τη̃ς φωνη̃ς του̃ λαου̃ καὶ ἐπορεύθην ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ ἡ̨̃ ἀπέστειλέν με κύριος καὶ ἤγαγον τὸν Αγαγ βασιλέα Αμαληκ καὶ τὸν Αμαληκ ἐξωλέθρευσα (Ⅲ) - Et ait Saul ad Samuelem : Immo audivi vocem Domini, et ambulavi in via per quam misit me Dominus, et adduxi Agag regem Amalec, et Amalec interfeci. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃15 ויאמר שאול אל שמואל אשר שמעתי בקול יהוה ואלך בדרך אשר שלחני יהוה ואביא את אגג מלך עמלק ואת עמלק החרמתי (Ⅴ)

But the people took of the spoil, sheep and oxen, the chief of the things which should have been utterly destroyed, to sacrifice unto the LORD thy God in Gilgal.
- mais le peuple a pris sur le butin des brebis et des boeufs, comme prémices de ce qui devait être dévoué, afin de les sacrifier à l'Éternel, ton Dieu, à Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν ὁ λαὸς τω̃ν σκύλων ποίμνια καὶ βουκόλια τὰ πρω̃τα του̃ ἐξολεθρεύματος θυ̃σαι ἐνώπιον κυρίου θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν ἐν Γαλγαλοις (Ⅲ) - Tulit autem de præda populus oves et boves, primitias eorum quæ cæsa sunt, ut immolet Domino Deo suo in Galgalis.\ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃15 ויקח העם מהשלל צאן ובקר ראשית החרם לזבח ליהוה אלהיך בגלגל (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said, Hath the LORD as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of the LORD? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
- Samuel dit: L'Éternel trouve-t-il du plaisir dans les holocaustes et les sacrifices, comme dans l'obéissance à la voix de l'Éternel? Voici, l'obéissance vaut mieux que les sacrifices, et l'observation de sa parole vaut mieux que la graisse des béliers. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ εἰ θελητὸν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ ὁλοκαυτώματα καὶ θυσίαι ὡς τὸ ἀκου̃σαι φωνη̃ς κυρίου ἰδοὺ ἀκοὴ ὑπὲρ θυσίαν ἀγαθὴ καὶ ἡ ἐπακρόασις ὑπὲρ στέαρ κριω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et ait Samuel : Numquid vult Dominus holocausta et victimas, et non potius ut obediatur voci Domini ? melior est enim obedientia quam victimæ, et auscultare magis quam offerre adipem arietum. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל החפץ ליהוה בעלות וזבחים כשמע בקול יהוה הנה שמע מזבח טוב להקשיב מחלב אילים (Ⅴ)

For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.
- Car la désobéissance est aussi coupable que la divination, et la résistance ne l'est pas moins que l'idolâtrie et les théraphim. Puisque tu as rejeté la parole de l'Éternel, il te rejette aussi comme roi. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι ἁμαρτία οἰώνισμά ἐστιν ὀδύνην καὶ πόνους θεραφιν ἐπάγουσιν ὅτι ἐξουδένωσας τὸ ῥη̃μα κυρίου καὶ ἐξουδενώσει σε κύριος μὴ εἰ̃ναι βασιλέα ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Quoniam quasi peccatum ariolandi est, repugnare : et quasi scelus idololatriæ, nolle acquiescere. And Saul said unto Samuel, I have sinned: for I have transgressed the commandment of the LORD, and thy words: because I feared the people, and obeyed their voice.
- Alors Saül dit à Samuel: J'ai péché, car j'ai transgressé l'ordre de l'Éternel, et je n'ai pas obéi à tes paroles; je craignais le peuple, et j'ai écouté sa voix. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ πρὸς Σαμουηλ ἡμάρτηκα ὅτι παρέβην τὸν λόγον κυρίου καὶ τὸ ῥη̃μά σου ὅτι ἐφοβήθην τὸν λαὸν καὶ ἤκουσα τη̃ς φωνη̃ς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Saul ad Samuelem : Peccavi, quia prævaricatus sum sermonem Domini et verba tua, timens populum, et obediens voci eorum. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃15 ויאמר שאול אל שמואל חטאתי כי עברתי את פי יהוה ואת דבריך כי יראתי את העם ואשמע בקולם (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, I pray thee, pardon my sin, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD.
- Maintenant, je te prie, pardonne mon péché, reviens avec moi, et je me prosternerai devant l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν ἀ̃ρον δὴ τὸ ἁμάρτημά μου καὶ ἀνάστρεψον μετ' ἐμου̃ καὶ προσκυνήσω κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ σου (Ⅲ) - Sed nunc porta, quæso, peccatum meum, et revertere mecum, ut adorem Dominum. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃15 ועתה שא נא את חטאתי ושוב עמי ואשתחוה ליהוה (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said unto Saul, I will not return with thee: for thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, and the LORD hath rejected thee from being king over Israel.
- Samuel dit à Saül: Je ne retournerai point avec toi; car tu as rejeté la parole de l'Éternel, et l'Éternel te rejette, afin que tu ne sois plus roi sur Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς Σαουλ οὐκ ἀναστρέφω μετὰ σου̃ ὅτι ἐξουδένωσας τὸ ῥη̃μα κυρίου καὶ ἐξουδενώσει σε κύριος του̃ μὴ εἰ̃ναι βασιλέα ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Et ait Samuel ad Saul : Non revertar tecum, quia projecisti sermonem Domini, et projecit te Dominus ne sis rex super Israël. (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל אל שאול לא אשוב עמך כי מאסתה את דבר יהוה וימאסך יהוה מהיות מלך על ישראל ס (Ⅴ)

And as Samuel turned about to go away, he laid hold upon the skirt of his mantle, and it rent.
- Et comme Samuel se tournait pour s'en aller, Saül le saisit par le pan de son manteau, qui se déchira. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν Σαμουηλ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ του̃ ἀπελθει̃ν καὶ ἐκράτησεν Σαουλ του̃ πτερυγίου τη̃ς διπλοΐδος αὐτου̃ καὶ διέρρηξεν αὐτό (Ⅲ) - Et conversus est Samuel ut abiret : ille autem apprehendit summitatem pallii ejus, quæ et scissa est. (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃15 ויסב שמואל ללכת ויחזק בכנף מעילו ויקרע (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said unto him, The LORD hath rent the kingdom of Israel from thee this day, and hath given it to a neighbor of thine, that is better than thou.
- Samuel lui dit: L'Éternel déchire aujourd'hui de dessus toi la royauté d'Israël, et il la donne à un autre, qui est meilleur que toi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Σαμουηλ διέρρηξεν κύριος τὴν βασιλείαν Ισραηλ ἐκ χειρός σου σήμερον καὶ δώσει αὐτὴν τω̨̃ πλησίον σου τω̨̃ ἀγαθω̨̃ ὑπὲρ σέ (Ⅲ) - Et ait ad eum Samuel : Scidit Dominus regnum Israël a te hodie, et tradidit illud proximo tuo meliori te. (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃15 ויאמר אליו שמואל קרע יהוה את ממלכות ישראל מעליך היום ונתנה לרעך הטוב ממך (Ⅴ)

And also the Strength of Israel will not lie nor repent: for he is not a man, that he should repent.
- Celui qui est la force d'Israël ne ment point et ne se repent point, car il n'est pas un homme pour se repentir. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διαιρεθήσεται Ισραηλ εἰς δύο καὶ οὐκ ἀποστρέψει οὐδὲ μετανοήσει ὅτι οὐχ ὡς ἄνθρωπός ἐστιν του̃ μετανοη̃σαι αὐτός (Ⅲ) - Porro triumphator in Israël non parcet, et pœnitudine non flectetur : neque enim homo est ut agat pœnitentiam. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃15 וגם נצח ישראל לא ישקר ולא ינחם כי לא אדם הוא להנחם (Ⅴ)

Then he said, I have sinned: yet honor me now, I pray thee, before the elders of my people, and before Israel, and turn again with me, that I may worship the LORD thy God.
- Saül dit encore: J'ai péché! Maintenant, je te prie, honore-moi en présence des anciens de mon peuple et en présence d'Israël; reviens avec moi, et je me prosternerai devant l'Éternel, ton Dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαουλ ἡμάρτηκα ἀλλὰ δόξασόν με δὴ ἐνώπιον πρεσβυτέρων Ισραηλ καὶ ἐνώπιον λαου̃ μου καὶ ἀνάστρεψον μετ' ἐμου̃ καὶ προσκυνήσω τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ σου (Ⅲ) - At ille ait : Peccavi : sed nunc honora me coram senioribus populi mei et coram Israël, et revertere mecum, ut adorem Dominum Deum tuum. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃15 ויאמר חטאתי עתה כבדני נא נגד זקני עמי ונגד ישראל ושוב עמי והשתחויתי ליהוה אלהיך (Ⅴ)

So Samuel turned again after Saul; and Saul worshipped the LORD.
- Samuel retourna et suivit Saül, et Saül se prosterna devant l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέστρεψεν Σαμουηλ ὀπίσω Σαουλ καὶ προσεκύνησεν τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ (Ⅲ) - Reversus ergo Samuel secutus est Saulem : et adoravit Saul Dominum.\ (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃15 וישב שמואל אחרי שאול וישתחו שאול ליהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Then said Samuel, Bring ye hither to me Agag the king of the Amalekites. And Agag came unto him delicately. And Agag said, Surely the bitterness of death is past.
- Puis Samuel dit: Amenez-moi Agag, roi d'Amalek. Et Agag s'avança vers lui d'un air joyeux; il disait: Certainement, l'amertume de la mort est passée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ προσαγάγετέ μοι τὸν Αγαγ βασιλέα Αμαληκ καὶ προση̃λθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν Αγαγ τρέμων καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αγαγ εἰ οὕτως πικρὸς ὁ θάνατος (Ⅲ) - Dixitque Samuel : Adducite ad me Agag regem Amalec. Et oblatus est ei Agag, pinguissimus et tremens. Et dixit Agag : Siccine separat amara mors ? (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל הגישו אלי את אגג מלך עמלק וילך אליו אגג מעדנת ויאמר אגג אכן סר מר המות ס (Ⅴ)

And Samuel said, As the sword hath made women childless, so shall thy mother be childless among women. And Samuel hewed Agag in pieces before the LORD in Gilgal.
- Samuel dit: De même que ton épée a privé des femmes de leurs enfants, ainsi ta mère entre les femmes sera privée d'un fils. Et Samuel mit Agag en pièces devant l'Éternel, à Guilgal. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Σαμουηλ πρὸς Αγαγ καθότι ἠτέκνωσεν γυναι̃κας ἡ ῥομφαία σου οὕτως ἀτεκνωθήσεται ἐκ γυναικω̃ν ἡ μήτηρ σου καὶ ἔσφαξεν Σαμουηλ τὸν Αγαγ ἐνώπιον κυρίου ἐν Γαλγαλ (Ⅲ) - Et ait Samuel : Sicut fecit absque liberis mulieres gladius tuus, sic absque liberis erit inter mulieres mater tua. Et in frustra concidit eum Samuel coram Domino in Galgalis. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃15 ויאמר שמואל כאשר שכלה נשים חרבך כן תשכל מנשים אמך וישסף שמואל את אגג לפני יהוה בגלגל ס (Ⅴ)

Then Samuel went to Ramah; and Saul went up to his house to Gibeah of Saul.
- Samuel partit pour Rama, et Saül monta dans sa maison à Guibea de Saül. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπη̃λθεν Σαμουηλ εἰς Αρμαθαιμ καὶ Σαουλ ἀνέβη εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ εἰς Γαβαα (Ⅲ) - Abiit autem Samuel in Ramatha : Saul vero ascendit in domum suam in Gabaa. (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃15 וילך שמואל הרמתה ושאול עלה אל ביתו גבעת שאול (Ⅴ)

And Samuel came no more to see Saul until the day of his death: nevertheless Samuel mourned for Saul: and the LORD repented that he had made Saul king over Israel.
- Samuel n'alla plus voir Saül jusqu'au jour de sa mort; car Samuel pleurait sur Saül, parce que l'Éternel se repentait d'avoir établi Saül roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐ προσέθετο Σαμουηλ ἔτι ἰδει̃ν τὸν Σαουλ ἕως ἡμέρας θανάτου αὐτου̃ ὅτι ἐπένθει Σαμουηλ ἐπὶ Σαουλ καὶ κύριος μετεμελήθη ὅτι ἐβασίλευσεν τὸν Σαουλ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Et non vidit Samuel ultra Saul usque ad diem mortis suæ : verumtamen lugebat Samuel Saulem, quoniam Dominum pœnitebat quod constituisset eum regem super Israël. (Ⅳ) - 35 ׃15 ולא יסף שמואל לראות את שאול עד יום מותו כי התאבל שמואל אל שאול ויהוה נחם כי המליך את שאול על ישראל פ (Ⅴ)
