Again the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
- La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃16 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר (Ⅴ)

Son of man, cause Jerusalem to know her abominations,
- Fils de l'homme, fais connaître à Jérusalem ses abominations! (Ⅱ) - υἱὲ ἀνθρώπου διαμάρτυραι τη̨̃ Ιερουσαλημ τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Fili hominis, notas fac Jerusalem abominationes suas, (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃16 בן אדם הודע את ירושלם את תועבתיה (Ⅴ)

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD unto Jerusalem; Thy birth and thy nativity is of the land of Canaan; thy father was an Amorite, and thy mother an Hittite.
- Tu diras: Ainsi parle le Seigneur, l'Éternel, à Jérusalem: Par ton origine et ta naissance tu es du pays de Canaan; ton père était un Amoréen, et ta mère une Héthienne. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐρει̃ς τάδε λέγει κύριος τη̨̃ Ιερουσαλημ ἡ ῥίζα σου καὶ ἡ γένεσίς σου ἐκ γη̃ς Χανααν ὁ πατήρ σου Αμορραι̃ος καὶ ἡ μήτηρ σου Χετταία (Ⅲ) - et dices : Hæc dicit Dominus Deus Jerusalem : Radix tua et generatio tua de terra Chanaan : pater tuus Amorrhæus, et mater tua Cethæa. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃16 ואמרת כה אמר אדני יהוה לירושלם מכרתיך ומלדתיך מארץ הכנעני אביך האמרי ואמך חתית (Ⅴ)

And as for thy nativity, in the day thou wast born thy navel was not cut, neither wast thou washed in water to supple thee; thou wast not salted at all, nor swaddled at all.
- A ta naissance, au jour où tu naquis, ton nombril n'a pas été coupé, tu n'as pas été lavée dans l'eau pour être purifiée, tu n'as pas été frottée avec du sel, tu n'as pas été enveloppée dans des langes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡ γένεσίς σου ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐτέχθης οὐκ ἔδησαν τοὺς μαστούς σου καὶ ἐν ὕδατι οὐκ ἐλούσθης οὐδὲ ἁλὶ ἡλίσθης καὶ σπαργάνοις οὐκ ἐσπαργανώθης (Ⅲ) - Et quando nata es, in die ortus tui non est præcisus umbilicus tuus, et aqua non es lota in salutem, nec sale salita, nec involuta pannis. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃16 ומולדותיך ביום הולדת אתך לא כרת שרך ובמים לא רחצת למשעי והמלח לא המלחת והחתל לא חתלת (Ⅴ)

None eye pitied thee, to do any of these unto thee, to have compassion upon thee; but thou wast cast out in the open field, to the lothing of thy person, in the day that thou wast born.
- Nul n'a porté sur toi un regard de pitié pour te faire une seule de ces choses, par compassion pour toi; mais tu as été jetée dans les champs, le jour de ta naissance, parce qu'on avait horreur de toi. (Ⅱ) - οὐδὲ ἐφείσατο ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου ἐπὶ σοὶ του̃ ποιη̃σαί σοι ἓν ἐκ πάντων τούτων του̃ παθει̃ν τι ἐπὶ σοί καὶ ἀπερρίφης ἐπὶ πρόσωπον του̃ πεδίου τη̨̃ σκολιότητι τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς σου ἐν ἡ̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐτέχθης (Ⅲ) - Non pepercit super te oculus, ut faceret tibi unum de his, misertus tui : sed projecta es super faciem terræ in abjectione animæ tuæ in die qua nata es.\ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃16 לא חסה עליך עין לעשות לך אחת מאלה לחמלה עליך ותשלכי אל פני השדה בגעל נפשך ביום הלדת אתך (Ⅴ)

And when I passed by thee, and saw thee polluted in thine own blood, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live; yea, I said unto thee when thou wast in thy blood, Live.
- Je passais près de toi, je t'aperçus baignée dans ton sang, et je te dis: Vis dans ton sang! je te dis: Vis dans ton sang! (Ⅱ) - καὶ διη̃λθον ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ εἰ̃δόν σε πεφυρμένην ἐν τω̨̃ αἵματί σου καὶ εἰ̃πά σοι ἐκ του̃ αἵματός σου ζωή (Ⅲ) - Transiens autem per te, vidi te conculcari in sanguine tuo : et dixi tibi cum esses in sanguine tuo : Vive, dixi, inquam, tibi : in sanguine tuo vive. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃16 ואעבר עליך ואראך מתבוססת בדמיך ואמר לך בדמיך חיי ואמר לך בדמיך חיי (Ⅴ)

I have caused thee to multiply as the bud of the field, and thou hast increased and waxen great, and thou art come to excellent ornaments: thy breasts are fashioned, and thine hair is grown, whereas thou wast naked and bare.
- Je t'ai multipliée par dix milliers, comme les herbes des champs. Et tu pris de l'accroissement, tu grandis, tu devins d'une beauté parfaite; tes seins se formèrent, ta chevelure se développa. Mais tu étais nue, entièrement nue. (Ⅱ) - πληθύνου καθὼς ἡ ἀνατολὴ του̃ ἀγρου̃ δέδωκά σε καὶ ἐπληθύνθης καὶ ἐμεγαλύνθης καὶ εἰση̃λθες εἰς πόλεις πόλεων οἱ μαστοί σου ἀνωρθώθησαν καὶ ἡ θρίξ σου ἀνέτειλεν σὺ δὲ ἠ̃σθα γυμνὴ καὶ ἀσχημονου̃σα (Ⅲ) - Multiplicatam quasi germen agri dedi te : et multiplicata es, et grandis effecta, et ingressa es, et pervenisti ad mundum muliebrem : ubera tua intumuerunt, et pilus tuus germinavit : et eras nuda, et confusione plena. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃16 רבבה כצמח השדה נתתיך ותרבי ותגדלי ותבאי בעדי עדיים שדים נכנו ושערך צמח ואת ערם ועריה (Ⅴ)

Now when I passed by thee, and looked upon thee, behold, thy time was the time of love; and I spread my skirt over thee, and covered thy nakedness: yea, I sware unto thee, and entered into a covenant with thee, saith the Lord GOD, and thou becamest mine.
- Je passai près de toi, je te regardai, et voici, ton temps était là, le temps des amours. J'étendis sur toi le pan de ma robe, je couvris ta nudité, je te jurai fidélité, je fis alliance avec toi, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, et tu fus à moi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διη̃λθον διὰ σου̃ καὶ εἰ̃δόν σε καὶ ἰδοὺ καιρός σου καιρὸς καταλυόντων καὶ διεπέτασα τὰς πτέρυγάς μου ἐπὶ σὲ καὶ ἐκάλυψα τὴν ἀσχημοσύνην σου καὶ ὤμοσά σοι καὶ εἰση̃λθον ἐν διαθήκη̨ μετὰ σου̃ λέγει κύριος καὶ ἐγένου μοι (Ⅲ) - Et transivi per te, et vidi te : et ecce tempus tuum, tempus amantium : et expandi amictum meum super te, et operui ignominiam tuam : et juravi tibi, et ingressus sum pactum tecum, ait Dominus Deus, et facta es mihi. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃16 ואעבר עליך ואראך והנה עתך עת דדים ואפרש כנפי עליך ואכסה ערותך ואשבע לך ואבוא בברית אתך נאם אדני יהוה ותהיי לי (Ⅴ)

Then washed I thee with water; yea, I throughly washed away thy blood from thee, and I anointed thee with oil.
- Je te lavai dans l'eau, je fis disparaître le sang qui était sur toi, et je t'oignis avec de l'huile. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλουσά σε ἐν ὕδατι καὶ ἀπέπλυνα τὸ αἱ̃μά σου ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ ἔχρισά σε ἐν ἐλαίω̨ (Ⅲ) - Et lavi te aqua, et emundavi sanguinem tuum ex te, et unxi te oleo. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃16 וארחצך במים ואשטף דמיך מעליך ואסכך בשמן (Ⅴ)

I clothed thee also with broidered work, and shod thee with badgers' skin, and I girded thee about with fine linen, and I covered thee with silk.
- Je te donnai des vêtements brodés, et une chaussure de peaux teintes en bleu; je te ceignis de fin lin, et je te couvris de soie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνέδυσά σε ποικίλα καὶ ὑπέδησά σε ὑάκινθον καὶ ἔζωσά σε βύσσω̨ καὶ περιέβαλόν σε τριχάπτω̨ (Ⅲ) - Et vestivi te discoloribus, et calceavi te janthino, et cinxi te bysso, et indui te subtilibus : (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃16 ואלבישך רקמה ואנעלך תחש ואחבשך בשש ואכסך משי (Ⅴ)

I decked thee also with ornaments, and I put bracelets upon thy hands, and a chain on thy neck.
- Je te parai d'ornements: je mis des bracelets à tes mains, un collier à ton cou, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκόσμησά σε κόσμω̨ καὶ περιέθηκα ψέλια περὶ τὰς χει̃ράς σου καὶ κάθεμα περὶ τὸν τράχηλόν σου (Ⅲ) - et ornavi te ornamento, et dedi armillas in manibus tuis, et torquem circa collum tuum : (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃16 ואעדך עדי ואתנה צמידים על ידיך ורביד על גרונך (Ⅴ)

And I put a jewel on thy forehead, and earrings in thine ears, and a beautiful crown upon thine head.
- je mis un anneau à ton nez, des pendants à tes oreilles, et une couronne magnifique sur ta tête. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔδωκα ἐνώτιον περὶ τὸν μυκτη̃ρά σου καὶ τροχίσκους ἐπὶ τὰ ὠ̃τά σου καὶ στέφανον καυχήσεως ἐπὶ τὴν κεφαλήν σου (Ⅲ) - et dedi inaurem super os tuum, et circulos auribus tuis, et coronam decoris in capite tuo. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃16 ואתן נזם על אפך ועגילים על אזניך ועטרת תפארת בראשך (Ⅴ)

Thus wast thou decked with gold and silver; and thy raiment was of fine linen, and silk, and broidered work; thou didst eat fine flour, and honey, and oil: and thou wast exceeding beautiful, and thou didst prosper into a kingdom.
- Ainsi tu fus parée d'or et d'argent, et tu fus vêtue de fin lin, de soie et d'étoffes brodées. La fleur de farine, le miel et l'huile, furent ta nourriture. Tu étais d'une beauté accomplie, digne de la royauté. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκοσμήθης χρυσίω̨ καὶ ἀργυρίω̨ καὶ τὰ περιβόλαιά σου βύσσινα καὶ τρίχαπτα καὶ ποικίλα σεμίδαλιν καὶ ἔλαιον καὶ μέλι ἔφαγες καὶ ἐγένου καλὴ σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Et ornata es auro et argento, et vestita es bysso et polymito et multicoloribus : similam, et mel, et oleum comedisti : et decora facta es vehementer nimis, et profecisti in regnum.\ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃16 ותעדי זהב וכסף ומלבושך *ששי **שש ומשי ורקמה סלת ודבש ושמן *אכלתי **אכלת ותיפי במאד מאד ותצלחי למלוכה (Ⅴ)

And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
- Et ta renommée se répandit parmi les nations, à cause de ta beauté; car elle était parfaite, grâce à l'éclat dont je t'avais ornée, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξη̃λθέν σου ὄνομα ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν ἐν τω̨̃ κάλλει σου διότι συντετελεσμένον ἠ̃ν ἐν εὐπρεπεία̨ ἐν τη̨̃ ὡραιότητι ἡ̨̃ ἔταξα ἐπὶ σέ λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et egressum est nomen tuum in gentes propter speciem tuam, quia perfecta eras in decore meo quem posueram super te, dicit Dominus Deus. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃16 ויצא לך שם בגוים ביפיך כי כליל הוא בהדרי אשר שמתי עליך נאם אדני יהוה (Ⅴ)

But thou didst trust in thine own beauty, and playedst the harlot because of thy renown, and pouredst out thy fornications on every one that passed by; his it was.
- Mais tu t'es confiée dans ta beauté, et tu t'es prostituée, à la faveur de ton nom; tu as prodigué tes prostitutions à tous les passants, tu t'es livrée à eux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπεποίθεις ἐν τω̨̃ κάλλει σου καὶ ἐπόρνευσας ἐπὶ τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου καὶ ἐξέχεας τὴν πορνείαν σου ἐπὶ πάντα πάροδον ὃ οὐκ ἔσται (Ⅲ) - Et habens fiduciam in pulchritudine tua, fornicata es in nomine tuo : et exposuisti fornicationem tuam omni transeunti, ut ejus fieres. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃16 ותבטחי ביפיך ותזני על שמך ותשפכי את תזנותיך על כל עובר לו יהי (Ⅴ)

And of thy garments thou didst take, and deckedst thy high places with divers colours, and playedst the harlot thereupon: the like things shall not come, neither shall it be so.
- Tu as pris de tes vêtements, tu t'es fait des hauts lieux que tu as garnis d'étoffes de toutes couleurs, et tu t'y es prostituée: rien de semblable n'était arrivé et n'arrivera jamais. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβες ἐκ τω̃ν ἱματίων σου καὶ ἐποίησας σεαυτη̨̃ εἴδωλα ῥαπτὰ καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσας ἐπ' αὐτά καὶ οὐ μὴ εἰσέλθη̨ς οὐδὲ μὴ γένηται (Ⅲ) - Et sumens de vestimentis tuis, fecisti tibi excelsa hinc inde consuta, et fornicata es super eis sicut non est factum, neque futurum est. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃16 ותקחי מבגדיך ותעשי לך במות טלאות ותזני עליהם לא באות ולא יהיה (Ⅴ)

Thou hast also taken thy fair jewels of my gold and of my silver, which I had given thee, and madest to thyself images of men, and didst commit whoredom with them,
- Tu as pris ta magnifique parure d'or et d'argent, que je t'avais donnée, et tu en as fait des simulacres d'hommes, auxquels tu t'es prostituée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβες τὰ σκεύη τη̃ς καυχήσεώς σου ἐκ του̃ χρυσίου μου καὶ ἐκ του̃ ἀργυρίου μου ἐξ ὡ̃ν ἔδωκά σοι καὶ ἐποίησας σεαυτη̨̃ εἰκόνας ἀρσενικὰς καὶ ἐξεπόρνευσας ἐν αὐται̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et tulisti vasa decoris tui de auro meo atque argento meo, quæ dedi tibi, et fecisti tibi imagines masculinas, et fornicata es in eis. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃16 ותקחי כלי תפארתך מזהבי ומכספי אשר נתתי לך ותעשי לך צלמי זכר ותזני בם (Ⅴ)

And tookest thy broidered garments, and coveredst them: and thou hast set mine oil and mine incense before them.
- Tu as pris tes vêtements brodés, tu les en as couverts, et tu as offert à ces simulacres mon huile et mon encens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβες τὸν ἱματισμὸν τὸν ποικίλον σου καὶ περιέβαλες αὐτὰ καὶ τὸ ἔλαιόν μου καὶ τὸ θυμίαμά μου ἔθηκας πρὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et sumpsisti vestimenta tua multicoloria, et operuisti illas, et oleum meum et thymiama meum posuisti coram eis. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃16 ותקחי את בגדי רקמתך ותכסים ושמני וקטרתי *נתתי **נתת לפניהם (Ⅴ)

My meat also which I gave thee, fine flour, and oil, and honey, wherewith I fed thee, thou hast even set it before them for a sweet savour: and thus it was, saith the Lord GOD.
- Le pain que je t'avais donné, la fleur de farine, l'huile et le miel, dont je te nourrissais, tu leur as offert ces choses comme des parfums d'une odeur agréable. Voilà ce qui est arrivé, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τοὺς ἄρτους μου οὓς ἔδωκά σοι σεμίδαλιν καὶ ἔλαιον καὶ μέλι ἐψώμισά σε καὶ ἔθηκας αὐτὰ πρὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν εἰς ὀσμὴν εὐωδίας καὶ ἐγένετο λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et panem meum quem dedi tibi, similam, et oleum, et mel, quibus enutrivi te, posuisti in conspectu eorum in odorem suavitatis : et factum est, ait Dominus Deus. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃16 ולחמי אשר נתתי לך סלת ושמן ודבש האכלתיך ונתתיהו לפניהם לריח ניחח ויהי נאם אדני יהוה (Ⅴ)

Moreover thou hast taken thy sons and thy daughters, whom thou hast borne unto me, and these hast thou sacrificed unto them to be devoured. Is this of thy whoredoms a small matter,
- Tu as pris tes fils et tes filles, que tu m'avais enfantés, et tu les leur as sacrifiés pour qu'ils leur servent d'aliment: n'était-ce pas assez de tes prostitutions? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβες τοὺς υἱούς σου καὶ τὰς θυγατέρας σου ἃς ἐγέννησας καὶ ἔθυσας αὐτὰ αὐτοι̃ς εἰς ἀνάλωσιν ὡς μικρὰ ἐξεπόρνευσας (Ⅲ) - Et tulisti filios tuos et filias tuas quas generasti mihi, et immolasti eis ad devorandum. Numquid parva est fornicatio tua ? (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃16 ותקחי את בניך ואת בנותיך אשר ילדת לי ותזבחים להם לאכול המעט *מתזנתך **מתזנותיך (Ⅴ)

That thou hast slain my children, and delivered them to cause them to pass through the fire for them?
- Tu as égorgé mes fils, et tu les as donnés, en les faisant passer par le feu en leur honneur. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσφαξας τὰ τέκνα σου καὶ ἔδωκας αὐτὰ ἐν τω̨̃ ἀποτροπιάζεσθαί σε ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - Immolasti filios meos, et dedisti, illos consecrans, eis. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃16 ותשחטי את בני ותתנים בהעביר אותם להם (Ⅴ)

And in all thine abominations and thy whoredoms thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, when thou wast naked and bare, and wast polluted in thy blood.
- Au milieu de toutes tes abominations et de tes prostitutions, tu ne t'es pas souvenue du temps de ta jeunesse, lorsque tu étais nue, entièrement nue, et baignée dans ton sang. (Ⅱ) - του̃το παρὰ πα̃σαν τὴν πορνείαν σου καὶ οὐκ ἐμνήσθης τὰς ἡμέρας τη̃ς νηπιότητός σου ὅτε ἠ̃σθα γυμνὴ καὶ ἀσχημονου̃σα καὶ πεφυρμένη ἐν τω̨̃ αἵματί σου ἔζησας (Ⅲ) - Et post omnes abominationes tuas et fornicationes, non es recordata dierum adolescentiæ tuæ, quando eras nuda et confusione plena, conculcata in sanguine tuo. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃16 ואת כל תועבתיך ותזנתיך לא *זכרתי **זכרת את ימי נעוריך בהיותך ערם ועריה מתבוססת בדמך היית (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass after all thy wickedness, (woe, woe unto thee! saith the LORD GOD;)
- Après toutes tes méchantes actions, -malheur, malheur à toi! dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, - (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ πάσας τὰς κακίας σου λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et accidit post omnem malitiam tuam (væ, væ tibi ! ait Dominus Deus), (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃16 ויהי אחרי כל רעתך אוי אוי לך נאם אדני יהוה (Ⅴ)

That thou hast also built unto thee an eminent place, and hast made thee an high place in every street.
- tu t'es bâti des maisons de prostitution, tu t'es fait des hauts lieux dans toutes les places; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠ̨κοδόμησας σεαυτη̨̃ οἴκημα πορνικὸν καὶ ἐποίησας σεαυτη̨̃ ἔκθεμα ἐν πάση̨ πλατεία̨ (Ⅲ) - et ædificasti tibi lupanar, et fecisti tibi prostibulum in cunctis plateis. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃16 ותבני לך גב[1] ותעשי לך רמה בכל רחוב (Ⅴ)

Thou hast built thy high place at every head of the way, and hast made thy beauty to be abhorred, and hast opened thy feet to every one that passed by, and multiplied thy whoredoms.
- à l'entrée de chaque chemin tu as construit tes hauts lieux, tu as déshonoré ta beauté, tu t'es livrée à tous les passants, tu as multiplié tes prostitutions. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπ' ἀρχη̃ς πάσης ὁδου̃ ὠ̨κοδόμησας τὰ πορνει̃ά σου καὶ ἐλυμήνω τὸ κάλλος σου καὶ διήγαγες τὰ σκέλη σου παντὶ παρόδω̨ καὶ ἐπλήθυνας τὴν πορνείαν σου (Ⅲ) - Ad omne caput viæ ædificasti signum prostitutionis tuæ, et abominabilem fecisti decorem tuum : et divisisti pedes tuos omni transeunti, et multiplicasti fornicationes tuas : (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃16 אל כל ראש דרך בנית רמתך ותתעבי את יפיך ותפשקי את רגליך לכל עובר ותרבי את *תזנתך **תזנותיך (Ⅴ)

Thou hast also committed fornication with the Egyptians thy neighbours, great of flesh; and hast increased thy whoredoms, to provoke me to anger.
- Tu t'es prostituée aux Égyptiens, tes voisins au corps vigoureux, et tu as multiplié tes prostitutions pour m'irriter. Behold, therefore I have stretched out my hand over thee, and have diminished thine ordinary food, and delivered thee unto the will of them that hate thee, the daughters of the Philistines, which are ashamed of thy lewd way.
- Et voici, j'ai étendu ma main contre toi, j'ai diminué la part que je t'avais assignée, je t'ai livrée à la volonté de tes ennemis, les filles des Philistins, qui ont rougi de ta conduite criminelle. And the contrary is in thee from other women in thy whoredoms, whereas none followeth thee to commit whoredoms: and in that thou givest a reward, and no reward is given unto thee, therefore thou art contrary.
- Tu as été le contraire des autres prostituées, parce qu'on ne te recherchait pas; et en donnant un salaire au lieu d'en recevoir un, tu as été le contraire des autres. Behold, therefore I will gather all thy lovers, with whom thou hast taken pleasure, and all them that thou hast loved, with all them that thou hast hated; I will even gather them round about against thee, and will discover thy nakedness unto them, that they may see all thy nakedness.

And I will also give thee into their hand, and they shall throw down thine eminent place, and shall break down thy high places: they shall strip thee also of thy clothes, and shall take thy fair jewels, and leave thee naked and bare.
- Je te livrerai entre leurs mains; ils abattront tes maisons de prostitution et détruiront tes hauts lieux; ils te dépouilleront de tes vêtements, prendront ta magnifique parure, et te laisseront nue, entièrement nue. They shall also bring up a company against thee, and they shall stone thee with stones, and thrust thee through with their swords.

And they shall burn thine houses with fire, and execute judgments upon thee in the sight of many women: and I will cause thee to cease from playing the harlot, and thou also shalt give no hire any more.

Et desines fornicari, et mercedes ultra non dabis : (Ⅳ) - 41 ׃16 ושרפו בתיך באש ועשו בך שפטים לעיני נשים רבות והשבתיך מזונה וגם אתנן לא תתני עוד (Ⅴ)

So will I make my fury toward thee to rest, and my jealousy shall depart from thee, and I will be quiet, and will be no more angry.
- J'assouvirai ma colère contre toi, et tu ne seras plus l'objet de ma jalousie; je m'apaiserai, je ne serai plus irrité. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπαφήσω τὸν θυμόν μου ἐπὶ σέ καὶ ἐξαρθήσεται ὁ ζη̃λός μου ἐκ σου̃ καὶ ἀναπαύσομαι καὶ οὐ μὴ μεριμνήσω οὐκέτι (Ⅲ) - et requiescet indignatio mea in te, et auferetur zelus meus a te : et quiescam, nec irascar amplius. Because thou hast not remembered the days of thy youth, but hast fretted me in all these things; behold, therefore I also will recompense thy way upon thine head, saith the Lord GOD: and thou shalt not commit this lewdness above all thine abominations.
- Parce que tu ne t'es pas souvenue du temps de ta jeunesse, parce que tu m'as provoqué par toutes ces choses, voici, je ferai retomber ta conduite sur ta tête, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, et tu ne commettras plus le crime avec toutes tes abominations. Yet hast thou not walked after their ways, nor done after their abominations: but, as if that were a very little thing, thou wast corrupted more than they in all thy ways.
- Tu n'as pas seulement marché dans leurs voies, commis les mêmes abominations, c'était trop peu; tu as été plus corrompue qu'elles dans toutes tes voies. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐδ' ὡ̃ς ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἐπορεύθης οὐδὲ κατὰ τὰς ἀνομίας αὐτω̃ν ἐποίησας παρὰ μικρὸν καὶ ὑπέρκεισαι αὐτὰς ἐν πάσαις ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς σου (Ⅲ) - Sed nec in viis earum ambulasti, neque secundum scelera earum fecisti pauxillum minus : pene sceleratiora fecisti illis in omnibus viis tuis.\ (Ⅳ) - 47 ׃16 ולא בדרכיהן הלכת ובתועבותיהן *עשיתי **עשית כמעט קט ותשחתי מהן בכל דרכיך (Ⅴ)

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, Sodom thy sister hath not done, she nor her daughters, as thou hast done, thou and thy daughters.

(Ⅱ) - πλὴν του̃το τὸ ἀνόμημα Σοδομων τη̃ς ἀδελφη̃ς σου ὑπερηφανία ἐν πλησμονη̨̃ ἄρτων καὶ ἐν εὐθηνία̨ οἴνου ἐσπατάλων αὐτὴ καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες αὐτη̃ς του̃το ὑπη̃ρχεν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ ται̃ς θυγατράσιν αὐτη̃ς καὶ χει̃ρα πτωχου̃ καὶ πένητος οὐκ ἀντελαμβάνοντο (Ⅲ) - Ecce hæc fuit iniquitas Sodomæ sororis tuæ : superbia, saturitas panis et abundantia, et otium ipsius et filiarum ejus : et manum egeno et pauperi non porrigebant : (Ⅳ) - 49 ׃16 הנה זה היה עון סדם אחותך גאון שבעת לחם ושלות השקט היה לה ולבנותיה ויד עני ואביון לא החזיקה (Ⅴ)

And they were haughty, and committed abomination before me: therefore I took them away as I saw good.

(Ⅳ) - 50 ׃16 ותגבהינה ותעשינה תועבה לפני ואסיר אתהן כאשר ראיתי ס (Ⅴ)
