And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect.
- Lorsque Abram fut âgé de quatre-vingt-dix-neuf ans, l'Éternel apparut à Abram, et lui dit: Je suis le Dieu tout puissant. Marche devant ma face, et sois intègre. (Ⅱ) - ἐγένετο δὲ Αβραμ ἐτω̃ν ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα καὶ ὤφθη κύριος τω̨̃ Αβραμ καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ἐγώ εἰμι ὁ θεός σου εὐαρέστει ἐναντίον ἐμου̃ καὶ γίνου ἄμεμπτος (Ⅲ) - Postquam vero nonaginta et novem annorum esse cœperat, apparuit ei Dominus, dixitque ad eum : Ego Deus omnipotens : ambula coram me, et esto perfectus. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃17 ויהי אברם בן תשעים שנה ותשע שנים וירא יהוה אל אברם ויאמר אליו אני אל שדי התהלך לפני והיה תמים (Ⅴ)

And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly.
- J'établirai mon alliance entre moi et toi, et je te multiplierai à l'infini. (Ⅱ) - καὶ θήσομαι τὴν διαθήκην μου ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμου̃ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον σου̃ καὶ πληθυνω̃ σε σφόδρα (Ⅲ) - Ponamque fœdus meum inter me et te, et multiplicabo te vehementer nimis. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃17 ואתנה בריתי ביני ובינך וארבה אותך במאד מאד (Ⅴ)

And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying,
- Abram tomba sur sa face; et Dieu lui parla, en disant: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔπεσεν Αβραμ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐλάλησεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ θεὸς λέγων (Ⅲ) - Cecidit Abram pronus in faciem. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃17 ויפל אברם על פניו וידבר אתו אלהים לאמר (Ⅴ)

As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.
- Voici mon alliance, que je fais avec toi. Tu deviendras père d'une multitude de nations. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγὼ ἰδοὺ ἡ διαθήκη μου μετὰ σου̃ καὶ ἔση̨ πατὴρ πλήθους ἐθνω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dixitque ei Deus : Ego sum, et pactum meum tecum, erisque pater multarum gentium. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃17 אני הנה בריתי אתך והיית לאב המון גוים (Ⅴ)

Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.
- On ne t'appellera plus Abram; mais ton nom sera Abraham, car je te rends père d'une multitude de nations. (Ⅱ) - καὶ οὐ κληθήσεται ἔτι τὸ ὄνομά σου Αβραμ ἀλλ' ἔσται τὸ ὄνομά σου Αβρααμ ὅτι πατέρα πολλω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν τέθεικά σε (Ⅲ) - Nec ultra vocabitur nomen tuum Abram, sed appellaberis Abraham : quia patrem multarum gentium constitui te. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃17 ולא יקרא עוד את שמך אברם והיה שמך אברהם כי אב המון גוים נתתיך (Ⅴ)

And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee.
- Je te rendrai fécond à l'infini, je ferai de toi des nations; et des rois sortiront de toi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ αὐξανω̃ σε σφόδρα σφόδρα καὶ θήσω σε εἰς ἔθνη καὶ βασιλει̃ς ἐκ σου̃ ἐξελεύσονται (Ⅲ) - Faciamque te crescere vehementissime, et ponam te in gentibus, regesque ex te egredientur. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃17 והפרתי אתך במאד מאד ונתתיך לגוים ומלכים ממך יצאו (Ⅴ)

And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee in their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed after thee.
- J'établirai mon alliance entre moi et toi, et tes descendants après toi, selon leurs générations: ce sera une alliance perpétuelle, en vertu de laquelle je serai ton Dieu et celui de ta postérité après toi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμου̃ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον σου̃ καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ σπέρματός σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς γενεὰς αὐτω̃ν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον εἰ̃ναί σου θεὸς καὶ του̃ σπέρματός σου μετὰ σέ (Ⅲ) - Et statuam pactum meum inter me et te, et inter semen tuum post te in generationibus suis, fœdere sempiterno : ut sim Deus tuus, et seminis tui post te. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃17 והקמתי את בריתי ביני ובינך ובין זרעך אחריך לדרתם לברית עולם להיות לך לאלהים ולזרעך אחריך (Ⅴ)

And I will give unto thee, and to thy seed after thee, the land wherein thou art a stranger, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession; and I will be their God.
- Je te donnerai, et à tes descendants après toi, le pays que tu habites comme étranger, tout le pays de Canaan, en possession perpétuelle, et je serai leur Dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ δώσω σοι καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματί σου μετὰ σὲ τὴν γη̃ν ἣν παροικει̃ς πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν Χανααν εἰς κατάσχεσιν αἰώνιον καὶ ἔσομαι αὐτοι̃ς θεός (Ⅲ) - Daboque tibi et semini tuo terram peregrinationis tuæ, omnem terram Chanaan in possessionem æternam, eroque Deus eorum.\ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃17 ונתתי לך ולזרעך אחריך את ארץ מגריך את כל ארץ כנען לאחזת עולם והייתי להם לאלהים (Ⅴ)

And God said unto Abraham, Thou shalt keep my covenant therefore, thou, and thy seed after thee in their generations.
- Dieu dit à Abraham: Toi, tu garderas mon alliance, toi et tes descendants après toi, selon leurs générations. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ θεὸς πρὸς Αβρααμ σὺ δὲ τὴν διαθήκην μου διατηρήσεις σὺ καὶ τὸ σπέρμα σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς τὰς γενεὰς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dixit iterum Deus ad Abraham : Et tu ergo custodies pactum meum, et semen tuum post te in generationibus suis. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃17 ויאמר אלהים אל אברהם ואתה את בריתי תשמר אתה וזרעך אחריך לדרתם (Ⅴ)

This is my covenant, which ye shall keep, between me and you and thy seed after thee; Every man child among you shall be circumcised.
- C'est ici mon alliance, que vous garderez entre moi et vous, et ta postérité après toi: tout mâle parmi vous sera circoncis. (Ⅱ) - καὶ αὕτη ἡ διαθήκη ἣν διατηρήσεις ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμου̃ καὶ ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἀνὰ μέσον του̃ σπέρματός σου μετὰ σὲ εἰς τὰς γενεὰς αὐτω̃ν περιτμηθήσεται ὑμω̃ν πα̃ν ἀρσενικόν (Ⅲ) - Hoc est pactum meum quod observabitis inter me et vos, et semen tuum post te : circumcidetur ex vobis omne masculinum : (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃17 זאת בריתי אשר תשמרו ביני וביניכם ובין זרעך אחריך המול לכם כל זכר (Ⅴ)

And ye shall circumcise the flesh of your foreskin; and it shall be a token of the covenant betwixt me and you.
- Vous vous circoncirez; et ce sera un signe d'alliance entre moi et vous. (Ⅱ) - καὶ περιτμηθήσεσθε τὴν σάρκα τη̃ς ἀκροβυστίας ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἔσται ἐν σημείω̨ διαθήκης ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμου̃ καὶ ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - et circumcidetis carnem præputii vestri, ut sit in signum fœderis inter me et vos. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃17 ונמלתם את בשר ערלתכם והיה לאות ברית ביני וביניכם (Ⅴ)

And he that is eight days old shall be circumcised among you, every man child in your generations, he that is born in the house, or bought with money of any stranger, which is not of thy seed.
- A l'âge de huit jours, tout mâle parmi vous sera circoncis, selon vos générations, qu'il soit né dans la maison, ou qu'il soit acquis à prix d'argent de tout fils d'étranger, sans appartenir à ta race. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παιδίον ὀκτὼ ἡμερω̃ν περιτμηθήσεται ὑμι̃ν πα̃ν ἀρσενικὸν εἰς τὰς γενεὰς ὑμω̃ν ὁ οἰκογενὴς τη̃ς οἰκίας σου καὶ ὁ ἀργυρώνητος ἀπὸ παντὸς υἱου̃ ἀλλοτρίου ὃς οὐκ ἔστιν ἐκ του̃ σπέρματός σου (Ⅲ) - Infans octo dierum circumcidetur in vobis, omne masculinum in generationibus vestris : tam vernaculus, quam emptitius circumcidetur, et quicumque non fuerit de stirpe vestra : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃17 ובן שמנת ימים ימול לכם כל זכר לדרתיכם יליד בית ומקנת כסף מכל בן נכר אשר לא מזרעך הוא (Ⅴ)

He that is born in thy house, and he that is bought with thy money, must needs be circumcised: and my covenant shall be in your flesh for an everlasting covenant.
- On devra circoncire celui qui est né dans la maison et celui qui est acquis à prix d'argent; et mon alliance sera dans votre chair une alliance perpétuelle. (Ⅱ) - περιτομη̨̃ περιτμηθήσεται ὁ οἰκογενὴς τη̃ς οἰκίας σου καὶ ὁ ἀργυρώνητος καὶ ἔσται ἡ διαθήκη μου ἐπὶ τη̃ς σαρκὸς ὑμω̃ν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον (Ⅲ) - eritque pactum meum in carne vestra in fœdus æternum. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃17 המול ימול יליד ביתך ומקנת כספך והיתה בריתי בבשרכם לברית עולם (Ⅴ)

And the uncircumcised man child whose flesh of his foreskin is not circumcised, that soul shall be cut off from his people; he hath broken my covenant.
- Un mâle incirconcis, qui n'aura pas été circoncis dans sa chair, sera exterminé du milieu de son peuple: il aura violé mon alliance. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπερίτμητος ἄρσην ὃς οὐ περιτμηθήσεται τὴν σάρκα τη̃ς ἀκροβυστίας αὐτου̃ τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ ὀγδόη̨ ἐξολεθρευθήσεται ἡ ψυχὴ ἐκείνη ἐκ του̃ γένους αὐτη̃ς ὅτι τὴν διαθήκην μου διεσκέδασεν (Ⅲ) - Masculus, cujus præputii caro circumcisa non fuerit, delebitur anima illa de populo suo : quia pactum meum irritum fecit.\ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃17 וערל זכר אשר לא ימול את בשר ערלתו ונכרתה הנפש ההוא מעמיה את בריתי הפר ס (Ⅴ)

And God said unto Abraham, As for Sarai thy wife, thou shalt not call her name Sarai, but Sarah shall her name be.
- Dieu dit à Abraham: Tu ne donneras plus à Saraï, ta femme, le nom de Saraï; mais son nom sera Sara. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τω̨̃ Αβρααμ Σαρα ἡ γυνή σου οὐ κληθήσεται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτη̃ς Σαρα ἀλλὰ Σαρρα ἔσται τὸ ὄνομα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Dixit quoque Deus ad Abraham : Sarai uxorem tuam non vocabis Sarai, sed Saram. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃17 ויאמר אלהים אל אברהם שרי אשתך לא תקרא את שמה שרי כי שרה שמה (Ⅴ)

And I will bless her, and give thee a son also of her: yea, I will bless her, and she shall be a mother of nations; kings of people shall be of her.
- Je la bénirai, et je te donnerai d'elle un fils; je la bénirai, et elle deviendra des nations; des rois de peuples sortiront d'elle. (Ⅱ) - εὐλογήσω δὲ αὐτὴν καὶ δώσω σοι ἐξ αὐτη̃ς τέκνον καὶ εὐλογήσω αὐτόν καὶ ἔσται εἰς ἔθνη καὶ βασιλει̃ς ἐθνω̃ν ἐξ αὐτου̃ ἔσονται (Ⅲ) - Et benedicam ei, et ex illa dabo tibi filium cui benedicturus sum : eritque in nationes, et reges populorum orientur ex eo. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃17 וברכתי אתה וגם נתתי ממנה לך בן וברכתיה והיתה לגוים מלכי עמים ממנה יהיו (Ⅴ)

Then Abraham fell upon his face, and laughed, and said in his heart, Shall a child be born unto him that is an hundred years old? and shall Sarah, that is ninety years old, bear?
- Abraham tomba sur sa face; il rit, et dit en son coeur: Naîtrait-il un fils à un homme de cent ans? et Sara, âgée de quatre-vingt-dix ans, enfanterait-elle? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔπεσεν Αβρααμ ἐπὶ πρόσωπον καὶ ἐγέλασεν καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐν τη̨̃ διανοία̨ αὐτου̃ λέγων εἰ τω̨̃ ἑκατονταετει̃ γενήσεται καὶ εἰ Σαρρα ἐνενήκοντα ἐτω̃ν οὐ̃σα τέξεται (Ⅲ) - Cecidit Abraham in faciem suam, et risit, dicens in corde suo : Putasne centenario nascetur filius ? et Sara nonagenaria pariet ? (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃17 ויפל אברהם על פניו ויצחק ויאמר בלבו הלבן מאה שנה יולד ואם שרה הבת תשעים שנה תלד (Ⅴ)

And Abraham said unto God, O that Ishmael might live before thee!
- Et Abraham dit à Dieu: Oh! qu'Ismaël vive devant ta face! (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ Αβρααμ πρὸς τὸν θεόν Ισμαηλ οὑ̃τος ζήτω ἐναντίον σου (Ⅲ) - Dixitque ad Deum : Utinam Ismaël vivat coram te. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃17 ויאמר אברהם אל האלהים לו ישמעאל יחיה לפניך (Ⅴ)

And God said, Sarah thy wife shall bear thee a son indeed; and thou shalt call his name Isaac: and I will establish my covenant with him for an everlasting covenant, and with his seed after him.
- Dieu dit: Certainement Sara, ta femme, t'enfantera un fils; et tu l'appelleras du nom d'Isaac. J'établirai mon alliance avec lui comme une alliance perpétuelle pour sa postérité après lui. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃πεν δὲ ὁ θεὸς τω̨̃ Αβρααμ ναί ἰδοὺ Σαρρα ἡ γυνή σου τέξεταί σοι υἱόν καὶ καλέσεις τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ Ισαακ καὶ στήσω τὴν διαθήκην μου πρὸς αὐτὸν εἰς διαθήκην αἰώνιον καὶ τω̨̃ σπέρματι αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Et ait Deus ad Abraham : Sara uxor tua pariet tibi filium, vocabisque nomen ejus Isaac, et constituam pactum meum illi in fœdus sempiternum, et semini ejus post eum. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃17 ויאמר אלהים אבל שרה אשתך ילדת לך בן וקראת את שמו יצחק והקמתי את בריתי אתו לברית עולם לזרעו אחריו (Ⅴ)

And as for Ishmael, I have heard thee: Behold, I have blessed him, and will make him fruitful, and will multiply him exceedingly; twelve princes shall he beget, and I will make him a great nation.
- A l'égard d'Ismaël, je t'ai exaucé. Voici, je le bénirai, je le rendrai fécond, et je le multiplierai à l'infini; il engendrera douze princes, et je ferai de lui une grande nation. (Ⅱ) - περὶ δὲ Ισμαηλ ἰδοὺ ἐπήκουσά σου ἰδοὺ εὐλόγησα αὐτὸν καὶ αὐξανω̃ αὐτὸν καὶ πληθυνω̃ αὐτὸν σφόδρα δώδεκα ἔθνη γεννήσει καὶ δώσω αὐτὸν εἰς ἔθνος μέγα (Ⅲ) - Super Ismaël quoque exaudivi te : ecce, benedicam ei, et augebo, et multiplicabo eum valde : duodecim duces generabit, et faciam illum in gentem magnam. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃17 ולישמעאל[1] שמעתיך הנה ברכתי אתו והפריתי אתו והרביתי אתו במאד מאד שנים עשר נשיאם יוליד ונתתיו לגוי גדול (Ⅴ)

But my covenant will I establish with Isaac, which Sarah shall bear unto thee at this set time in the next year.
- J'établirai mon alliance avec Isaac, que Sara t'enfantera à cette époque-ci de l'année prochaine. (Ⅱ) - τὴν δὲ διαθήκην μου στήσω πρὸς Ισαακ ὃν τέξεταί σοι Σαρρα εἰς τὸν καιρὸν του̃τον ἐν τω̨̃ ἐνιαυτω̨̃ τω̨̃ ἑτέρω̨ (Ⅲ) - Pactum vero meum statuam ad Isaac, quem pariet tibi Sara tempore isto in anno altero. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃17 ואת בריתי אקים את יצחק אשר תלד לך שרה למועד הזה בשנה האחרת (Ⅴ)

And he left off talking with him, and God went up from Abraham.
- Lorsqu'il eut achevé de lui parler, Dieu s'éleva au-dessus d'Abraham. (Ⅱ) - συνετέλεσεν δὲ λαλω̃ν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ ἀνέβη ὁ θεὸς ἀπὸ Αβρααμ (Ⅲ) - Cumque finitus esset sermo loquentis cum eo, ascendit Deus ab Abraham.\ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃17 ויכל לדבר אתו ויעל אלהים מעל אברהם (Ⅴ)

And Abraham took Ishmael his son, and all that were born in his house, and all that were bought with his money, every male among the men of Abraham's house; and circumcised the flesh of their foreskin in the selfsame day, as God had said unto him.
- Abraham prit Ismaël, son fils, tous ceux qui étaient nés dans sa maison et tous ceux qu'il avait acquis à prix d'argent, tous les mâles parmi les gens de la maison d'Abraham; et il les circoncit ce même jour, selon l'ordre que Dieu lui avait donné. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν Αβρααμ Ισμαηλ τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντας τοὺς οἰκογενει̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ πάντας τοὺς ἀργυρωνήτους καὶ πα̃ν ἄρσεν τω̃ν ἀνδρω̃ν τω̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Αβρααμ καὶ περιέτεμεν τὰς ἀκροβυστίας αὐτω̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ τη̃ς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης καθὰ ἐλάλησεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ θεός (Ⅲ) - Tulit autem Abraham Ismaël filium suum, et omnes vernaculos domus suæ, universosque quos emerat, cunctos mares ex omnibus viris domus suæ : et circumcidit carnem præputii eorum statim in ipsa die, sicut præceperat ei Deus. (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃17 ויקח אברהם את ישמעאל בנו ואת כל ילידי ביתו ואת כל מקנת כספו כל זכר באנשי בית אברהם וימל את בשר ערלתם בעצם היום הזה כאשר דבר אתו אלהים (Ⅴ)

And Abraham was ninety years old and nine, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
- Abraham était âgé de quatre-vingt-dix-neuf ans, lorsqu'il fut circoncis. (Ⅱ) - Αβρααμ δὲ ἠ̃ν ἐνενήκοντα ἐννέα ἐτω̃ν ἡνίκα περιέτεμεν τὴν σάρκα τη̃ς ἀκροβυστίας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Abraham nonaginta et novem erat annorum quando circumcidit carnem præputii sui. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃17 ואברהם בן תשעים ותשע שנה בהמלו בשר ערלתו (Ⅴ)

And Ishmael his son was thirteen years old, when he was circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin.
- Ismaël, son fils, était âgé de treize ans lorsqu'il fut circoncis. (Ⅱ) - Ισμαηλ δὲ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτου̃ ἐτω̃ν δέκα τριω̃ν ἠ̃ν ἡνίκα περιετμήθη τὴν σάρκα τη̃ς ἀκροβυστίας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et Ismaël filius tredecim annos impleverat tempore circumcisionis suæ. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃17 וישמעאל בנו בן שלש עשרה שנה בהמלו את בשר ערלתו (Ⅴ)

In the selfsame day was Abraham circumcised, and Ishmael his son.
- Ce même jour, Abraham fut circoncis, ainsi qu'Ismaël, son fils. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ τη̃ς ἡμέρας ἐκείνης περιετμήθη Αβρααμ καὶ Ισμαηλ ὁ υἱὸς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Eadem die circumcisus est Abraham et Ismaël filius ejus : (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃17 בעצם היום הזה נמול אברהם וישמעאל בנו (Ⅴ)

And all the men of his house, born in the house, and bought with money of the stranger, were circumcised with him.
- Et tous les gens de sa maison, nés dans sa maison, ou acquis à prix d'argent des étrangers, furent circoncis avec lui. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πάντες οἱ ἄνδρες του̃ οἴκου αὐτου̃ καὶ οἱ οἰκογενει̃ς καὶ οἱ ἀργυρώνητοι ἐξ ἀλλογενω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν περιέτεμεν αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - et omnes viri domus illius, tam vernaculi, quam emptitii et alienigenæ pariter circumcisi sunt.
