Now after this it came to pass, that David smote the Philistines, and subdued them, and took Gath and her towns out of the hand of the Philistines.
- Après cela, David battit les Philistins et les humilia, et il enleva de la main des Philistins Gath et les villes de son ressort. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταυ̃τα καὶ ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ τοὺς ἀλλοφύλους καὶ ἐτροπώσατο αὐτοὺς καὶ ἔλαβεν τὴν Γεθ καὶ τὰς κώμας αὐτη̃ς ἐκ χειρὸς ἀλλοφύλων (Ⅲ) - Factum est autem post hæc, ut percuteret David Philisthiim, et humiliaret eos, et tolleret Geth et filias ejus de manu Philisthiim, (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃18 ויהי אחרי כן ויך דויד את פלשתים ויכניעם ויקח את גת ובנתיה מיד פלשתים (Ⅴ)

And he smote Moab; and the Moabites became David's servants, and brought gifts.
- Il battit les Moabites, et les Moabites furent assujettis à David et lui payèrent un tribut. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν τὴν Μωαβ καὶ ἠ̃σαν Μωαβ παι̃δες τω̨̃ Δαυιδ φέροντες δω̃ρα (Ⅲ) - percuteretque Moab, et fierent Moabitæ servi David, offerentes ei munera. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃18 ויך את מואב ויהיו מואב עבדים לדויד נשאי מנחה (Ⅴ)

And David smote Hadarezer king of Zobah unto Hamath, as he went to stablish his dominion by the river Euphrates.
- David battit Hadarézer, roi de Tsoba, vers Hamath, lorsqu'il alla établir sa domination sur le fleuve de l'Euphrate. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ τὸν Αδρααζαρ βασιλέα Σουβα Ημαθ πορευομένου αὐτου̃ ἐπιστη̃σαι χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ ποταμὸν Εὐφράτην (Ⅲ) - Eo tempore percussit David etiam Adarezer regem Soba regionis Hemath, quando perrexit ut dilataret imperium suum usque ad flumen Euphraten. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃18 ויך דויד את הדדעזר מלך צובה חמתה בלכתו להציב ידו בנהר פרת (Ⅴ)

And David took from him a thousand chariots, and seven thousand horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen: David also houghed all the chariot horses, but reserved of them an hundred chariots.
- David lui prit mille chars, sept mille cavaliers, et vingt mille hommes de pied; il coupa les jarrets à tous les chevaux de trait, et ne conserva que cent attelages. (Ⅱ) - καὶ προκατελάβετο Δαυιδ αὐτω̃ν χίλια ἅρματα καὶ ἑπτὰ χιλιάδας ἵππων καὶ εἴκοσι χιλιάδας ἀνδρω̃ν πεζω̃ν καὶ παρέλυσεν Δαυιδ πάντα τὰ ἅρματα καὶ ὑπελίπετο ἐξ αὐτω̃ν ἑκατὸν ἅρματα (Ⅲ) - Cepit ergo David mille quadrigas ejus, et septem millia equitum, ac viginti millia virorum peditum, subnervavitque omnes equos curruum, exceptis centum quadrigis, quas reservavit sibi. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃18 וילכד דויד ממנו אלף רכב ושבעת אלפים פרשים ועשרים אלף איש רגלי ויעקר דויד את כל הרכב ויותר ממנו מאה רכב (Ⅴ)

And when the Syrians of Damascus came to help Hadarezer king of Zobah, David slew of the Syrians two and twenty thousand men.
- Les Syriens de Damas vinrent au secours d'Hadarézer, roi de Tsoba, et David battit vingt-deux mille Syriens. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃λθεν Σύρος ἐκ Δαμασκου̃ βοηθη̃σαι Αδρααζαρ βασιλει̃ Σουβα καὶ ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ ἐν τω̨̃ Σύρω̨ εἴκοσι καὶ δύο χιλιάδας ἀνδρω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Supervenit autem et Syrus Damascenus, ut auxilium præberet Adarezer regi Soba : sed et hujus percussit David viginti duo millia virorum. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃18 ויבא ארם דרמשק לעזור להדדעזר מלך צובה ויך דויד בארם עשרים ושנים אלף איש (Ⅴ)

Then David put garrisons in Syriadamascus; and the Syrians became David's servants, and brought gifts. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
- David mit des garnisons dans la Syrie de Damas. Et les Syriens furent assujettis à David, et lui payèrent un tribut. L'Éternel protégeait David partout où il allait. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔθετο Δαυιδ φρουρὰν ἐν Συρία̨ τη̨̃ κατὰ Δαμασκόν καὶ ἠ̃σαν τω̨̃ Δαυιδ εἰς παι̃δας φέροντας δω̃ρα καὶ ἔσω̨ζεν κύριος τὸν Δαυιδ ἐν πα̃σιν οἱ̃ς ἐπορεύετο (Ⅲ) - Et posuit milites in Damasco, ut Syria quoque serviret sibi, et offerret munera. Adjuvitque eum Dominus in cunctis ad quæ perrexerat. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃18 וישם דויד בארם דרמשק ויהי ארם לדויד עבדים נשאי מנחה ויושע יהוה לדויד בכל אשר הלך (Ⅴ)

And David took the shields of gold that were on the servants of Hadarezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
- Et David prit les boucliers d'or qu'avaient les serviteurs d'Hadarézer, et les apporta à Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ τοὺς κλοιοὺς τοὺς χρυσου̃ς οἳ ἠ̃σαν ἐπὶ τοὺς παι̃δας Αδρααζαρ καὶ ἤνεγκεν αὐτοὺς εἰς Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - Tulit quoque David pharetras aureas, quas habuerant servi Adarezer, et attulit eas in Jerusalem. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃18 ויקח דויד את שלטי הזהב אשר היו על עבדי הדדעזר ויביאם ירושלם (Ⅴ)

Likewise from Tibhath, and from Chun, cities of Hadarezer, brought David very much brass, wherewith Solomon made the brazen sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
- David prit encore une grande quantité d'airain à Thibchath et à Cun, villes d'Hadarézer. Salomon en fit la mer d'airain, les colonnes et les ustensiles d'airain. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκ τη̃ς μεταβηχας καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν ἐκλεκτω̃ν πόλεων τω̃ν Αδρααζαρ ἔλαβεν Δαυιδ χαλκὸν πολὺν σφόδρα ἐξ αὐτου̃ ἐποίησεν Σαλωμων τὴν θάλασσαν τὴν χαλκη̃ν καὶ τοὺς στύλους καὶ τὰ σκεύη τὰ χαλκα̃ (Ⅲ) - Necnon de Thebath et Chun urbibus Adarezer æris plurimum, de quo fecit Salomon mare æneum, et columnas, et vasa ænea.\ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃18 ומטבחת ומכון ערי הדדעזר לקח דויד נחשת רבה מאד בה עשה שלמה את ים הנחשת ואת העמודים ואת כלי הנחשת פ (Ⅴ)

Now when Tou king of Hamath heard how David had smitten all the host of Hadarezer king of Zobah;
- Thohu, roi de Hamath, apprit que David avait battu toute l'armée d'Hadarézer, roi de Tsoba, (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἤκουσεν Θωα βασιλεὺς Ημαθ ὅτι ἐπάταξεν Δαυιδ τὴν πα̃σαν δύναμιν Αδρααζαρ βασιλέως Σουβα (Ⅲ) - Quod cum audisset Thou rex Hemath, percussisse videlicet David omnem exercitum Adarezer regis Soba, (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃18 וישמע תעו מלך חמת כי הכה דויד את כל חיל הדדעזר מלך צובה (Ⅴ)

He sent Hadoram his son to king David, to enquire of his welfare, and to congratulate him, because he had fought against Hadarezer, and smitten him; (for Hadarezer had war with Tou;) and with him all manner of vessels of gold and silver and brass.
- et il envoya Hadoram, son fils, vers le roi David, pour le saluer, et pour le féliciter d'avoir attaqué Hadarézer et de l'avoir battu. Car Thohu était en guerre avec Hadarézer. Il envoya aussi toutes sortes de vases d'or, d'argent et d'airain. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν τὸν Ιδουραμ υἱὸν αὐτου̃ πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Δαυιδ του̃ ἐρωτη̃σαι αὐτὸν τὰ εἰς εἰρήνην καὶ του̃ εὐλογη̃σαι αὐτὸν ὑπὲρ οὑ̃ ἐπολέμησεν τὸν Αδρααζαρ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτόν ὅτι ἀνὴρ πολέμιος Θωα ἠ̃ν τω̨̃ Αδρααζαρ καὶ πάντα τὰ σκεύη ἀργυρα̃ καὶ χρυσα̃ (Ⅲ) - misit Adoram filium suum ad regem David, ut postularet ab eo pacem, et congratularetur ei quod percussisset et expugnasset Adarezer : adversarius quippe erat Thou Adarezer. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃18 וישלח את הדורם בנו אל המלך דויד *לשאול **לשאל לו לשלום ולברכו על אשר נלחם בהדדעזר ויכהו כי איש מלחמות תעו היה הדדעזר וכל כלי זהב וכסף ונחשת (Ⅴ)

Them also king David dedicated unto the LORD, with the silver and the gold that he brought from all these nations; from Edom, and from Moab, and from the children of Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from Amalek.
- Le roi David les consacra à l'Éternel, avec l'argent et l'or qu'il avait pris sur toutes les nations, sur Édom, sur Moab, sur les fils d'Ammon, sur les Philistins et sur Amalek. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ταυ̃τα ἡγίασεν Δαυιδ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ μετὰ του̃ ἀργυρίου καὶ του̃ χρυσίου οὑ̃ ἔλαβεν ἐκ πάντων τω̃ν ἐθνω̃ν ἐξ Ιδουμαίας καὶ Μωαβ καὶ ἐξ υἱω̃ν Αμμων καὶ ἐκ τω̃ν ἀλλοφύλων καὶ ἐξ Αμαληκ (Ⅲ) - Sed et omnia vasa aurea, et argentea, et ænea consecravit David rex Domino, cum argento et auro quod tulerat ex universis gentibus, tam de Idumæa, et Moab, et filiis Ammon, quam de Philisthiim et Amalec. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃18 גם אתם הקדיש המלך דויד ליהוה עם הכסף והזהב אשר נשא מכל הגוים מאדום וממואב ומבני עמון ומפלשתים ומעמלק (Ⅴ)

Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah slew of the Edomites in the valley of salt eighteen thousand.
- Abischaï, fils de Tseruja, battit dans la vallée du sel dix-huit mille Édomites. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Αβεσσα υἱὸς Σαρουια ἐπάταξεν τὴν Ιδουμαίαν ἐν κοιλάδι τω̃ν ἁλω̃ν ὀκτὼ καὶ δέκα χιλιάδας (Ⅲ) - Abisai vero filius Sarviæ percussit Edom in valle Salinarum, decem et octo millia : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃18 ואבשי בן צרויה הכה את אדום בגיא המלח שמונה עשר אלף (Ⅴ)

And he put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became David's servants. Thus the LORD preserved David whithersoever he went.
- Il mit des garnisons dans Édom, et tout Édom fut assujetti à David. L'Éternel protégeait David partout où il allait. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔθετο ἐν τη̨̃ κοιλάδι φρουράς καὶ ἠ̃σαν πάντες οἱ Ιδουμαι̃οι παι̃δες Δαυιδ καὶ ἔσω̨ζεν κύριος τὸν Δαυιδ ἐν πα̃σιν οἱ̃ς ἐπορεύετο (Ⅲ) - et constituit in Edom præsidium, ut serviret Idumæa David : salvavitque Dominus David in cunctis ad quæ perrexerat. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃18 וישם באדום נציבים ויהיו כל אדום עבדים לדויד ויושע יהוה את דויד בכל אשר הלך (Ⅴ)

So David reigned over all Israel, and executed judgment and justice among all his people.
- David régna sur tout Israël, et il faisait droit et justice à tout son peuple. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν Δαυιδ ἐπὶ πάντα Ισραηλ καὶ ἠ̃ν ποιω̃ν κρίμα καὶ δικαιοσύνην τω̨̃ παντὶ λαω̨̃ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Regnavit ergo David super universum Israël, et faciebat judicium atque justitiam cuncto populo suo. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃18 וימלך דויד על כל ישראל ויהי עשה משפט וצדקה לכל עמו (Ⅴ)

And Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the host; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, recorder.
- Joab, fils de Tseruja, commandait l'armée; Josaphat, fils d'Achilud, était archiviste; (Ⅱ) - καὶ Ιωαβ υἱὸς Σαρουια ἐπὶ τη̃ς στρατια̃ς καὶ Ιωσαφατ υἱὸς Αχιλουδ ὑπομνηματογράφος (Ⅲ) - Porro Joab filius Sarviæ erat super exercitum, et Josaphat filius Ahilud a commentariis : (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃18 ויואב בן צרויה על הצבא ויהושפט בן אחילוד מזכיר (Ⅴ)

And Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were the priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
- Tsadok, fils d'Achithub, et Abimélec, fils d'Abiathar, étaient sacrificateurs; Schavscha était secrétaire; (Ⅱ) - καὶ Σαδωκ υἱὸς Αχιτωβ καὶ Αχιμελεχ υἱὸς Αβιαθαρ ἱερει̃ς καὶ Σουσα γραμματεὺς (Ⅲ) - Sadoc autem filius Achitob, et Ahimelech filius Abiathar, sacerdotes : et Susa, scriba : (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃18 וצדוק בן אחיטוב ואבימלך בן אביתר כהנים ושושא סופר (Ⅴ)

And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
- Benaja, fils de Jehojada, était chef des Kéréthiens et des Péléthiens; et les fils de David étaient les premiers auprès du roi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Βαναιας υἱὸς Ιωδαε ἐπὶ του̃ χερεθθι καὶ του̃ φελεθθι καὶ υἱοὶ Δαυιδ οἱ πρω̃τοι διάδοχοι του̃ βασιλέως (Ⅲ) - Banaias quoque filius Jojadæ super legiones Cerethi et Phelethi : porro filii David, primi ad manum regis. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃18 ובניהו בן יהוידע על הכרתי והפלתי ובני דויד הראשנים ליד המלך פ (Ⅴ)
