Visio dura nuntiata est mihi :/ qui incredulus est infideliter agit ;/ et qui depopulator est vastat./ Ascende, Ælam ; obside, Mede ;/ omnem gemitum ejus cessare feci./
- Une vision terrible m'a été révélée. L'oppresseur opprime, le dévastateur dévaste. -Monte, Élam! Assiège, Médie! Je fais cesser tous les soupirs. - (Ⅱ) - A grievous vision is declared unto me; the treacherous dealer dealeth treacherously, and the spoiler spoileth. Go up, O Elam: besiege, O Media; all the sighing thereof have I made to cease. (Ⅲ) - τὸ ὅραμα καὶ σκληρὸν ἀνηγγέλη μοι ὁ ἀθετω̃ν ἀθετει̃ ὁ ἀνομω̃ν ἀνομει̃ ἐπ' ἐμοὶ οἱ Αιλαμι̃ται καὶ οἱ πρέσβεις τω̃ν Περσω̃ν ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἔρχονται νυ̃ν στενάξω καὶ παρακαλέσω ἐμαυτόν (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃21 חזות קשה הגד לי הבוגד בוגד והשודד שודד עלי עילם צורי מדי כל אנחתה השבתי (Ⅴ)

Propterea repleti sunt lumbi mei dolore ;/ angustia possedit me/ sicut angustia parturientis ;/ corrui cum audirem, conturbatus sum cum viderem./
- C'est pourquoi mes reins sont remplis d'angoisses; Des douleurs me saisissent, Comme les douleurs d'une femme en travail; Les spasmes m'empêchent d'entendre, Le tremblement m'empêche de voir. (Ⅱ) - Therefore are my loins filled with pain: pangs have taken hold upon me, as the pangs of a woman that travaileth: I was bowed down at the hearing of it; I was dismayed at the seeing of it. (Ⅲ) - διὰ του̃το ἐνεπλήσθη ἡ ὀσφύς μου ἐκλύσεως καὶ ὠδι̃νες ἔλαβόν με ὡς τὴν τίκτουσαν ἠδίκησα τὸ μὴ ἀκου̃σαι ἐσπούδασα τὸ μὴ βλέπειν (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃21 על כן מלאו מתני חלחלה צירים אחזוני כצירי יולדה נעויתי משמע נבהלתי מראות (Ⅴ)

Emarcuit cor meum ;/ tenebræ stupefecerunt me :/ Babylon dilecta mea/ posita est mihi in miraculum./
- Mon coeur est troublé, La terreur s'empare de moi; La nuit de mes plaisirs devient une nuit d'épouvante. (Ⅱ) - My heart panted, fearfulness affrighted me: the night of my pleasure hath he turned into fear unto me. (Ⅲ) - ἡ καρδία μου πλανα̃ται καὶ ἡ ἀνομία με βαπτίζει ἡ ψυχή μου ἐφέστηκεν εἰς φόβον (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃21 תעה לבבי פלצות בעתתני את נשף חשקי שם לי לחרדה (Ⅴ)

Pone mensam, contemplare in specula/ comedentes et bibentes :/ surgite, principes,/ arripite clypeum./
- On dresse la table, la garde veille, on mange, on boit... Debout, princes! oignez le bouclier! (Ⅱ) - Prepare the table, watch in the watchtower, eat, drink: arise, ye princes, and anoint the shield. (Ⅲ) - ἑτοίμασον τὴν τράπεζαν πίετε φάγετε ἀναστάντες οἱ ἄρχοντες ἑτοιμάσατε θυρεούς (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃21 ערך השלחן צפה הצפית אכול שתה קומו השרים משחו מגן פ (Ⅴ)

Hæc enim dixit mihi Dominus :/ Vade, et pone speculatorem,/ et quodcumque viderit annuntiet./
- Car ainsi m'a parlé le Seigneur: Va, place la sentinelle; Qu'elle annonce ce qu'elle verra. - (Ⅱ) - For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Go, set a watchman, let him declare what he seeth. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι οὕτως εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με βαδίσας σεαυτω̨̃ στη̃σον σκοπὸν καὶ ὃ ἂν ἴδη̨ς ἀνάγγειλον (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃21 כי כה אמר אלי אדני לך העמד המצפה אשר יראה יגיד (Ⅴ)

Et vidit currum duorum equitum,/ ascensorem asini,/ et ascensorem cameli ;/ et contemplatus est diligenter multo intuitu./
- Elle vit de la cavalerie, des cavaliers deux à deux, Des cavaliers sur des ânes, des cavaliers sur des chameaux; Et elle était attentive, très attentive. (Ⅱ) - And he saw a chariot with a couple of horsemen, a chariot of asses, and a chariot of camels; and he hearkened diligently with much heed: (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃δον ἀναβάτας ἱππει̃ς δύο ἀναβάτην ὄνου καὶ ἀναβάτην καμήλου ἀκρόασαι ἀκρόασιν πολλὴν (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃21 וראה רכב צמד פרשים רכב חמור רכב גמל והקשיב קשב רב קשב (Ⅴ)

Et clamavit leo :/ Super speculam Domini ego sum,/ stans jugiter per diem ;/ et super custodiam meam ego sum,/ stans totis noctibus./
- Puis elle s'écria, comme un lion: Seigneur, je me tiens sur la tour toute la journée, Et je suis à mon poste toutes les nuits; (Ⅱ) - And he cried, A lion: My lord, I stand continually upon the watchtower in the daytime, and I am set in my ward whole nights: (Ⅲ) - καὶ κάλεσον Ουριαν εἰς τὴν σκοπιὰν κυρίου καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἔστην διὰ παντὸς ἡμέρας καὶ ἐπὶ τη̃ς παρεμβολη̃ς ἔστην ὅλην τὴν νύκτα (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃21 ויקרא אריה על מצפה אדני אנכי עמד תמיד יומם ועל משמרתי אנכי נצב כל הלילות (Ⅴ)

Ecce iste venit ascensor/ vir bigæ equitum ;/ et respondit, et dixit :/ Cecidit, cecidit Babylon,/ et omnia sculptilia deorum ejus/ contrita sunt in terram./
- Et voici, il vient de la cavalerie, des cavaliers deux à deux! Elle prit encore la parole, et dit: Elle est tombée, elle est tombée, Babylone, Et toutes les images de ses dieux sont brisées par terre! - (Ⅱ) - And, behold, here cometh a chariot of men, with a couple of horsemen. And he answered and said, Babylon is fallen, is fallen; and all the graven images of her gods he hath broken unto the ground. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ αὐτὸς ἔρχεται ἀναβάτης συνωρίδος καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς εἰ̃πεν πέπτωκεν Βαβυλών καὶ πάντα τὰ ἀγάλματα αὐτη̃ς καὶ τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτη̃ς συνετρίβησαν εἰς τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃21 והנה זה בא רכב איש צמד פרשים ויען ויאמר נפלה נפלה בבל וכל פסילי אלהיה שבר לארץ (Ⅴ)

Tritura mea et filii areæ meæ,/ quæ audivi a Domino exercituum,/ Deo Israël,/ annuntiavi vobis.]\
- O mon peuple, qui as été battu comme du grain dans mon aire! Ce que j'ai appris de l'Éternel des armées, Dieu d'Israël, Je vous l'ai annoncé. (Ⅱ) - O my threshing, and the corn of my floor: that which I have heard of the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, have I declared unto you. (Ⅲ) - ἀκούσατε οἱ καταλελειμμένοι καὶ οἱ ὀδυνώμενοι ἀκούσατε ἃ ἤκουσα παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ὁ θεὸς του̃ Ισραηλ ἀνήγγειλεν ἡμι̃ν (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃21 מדשתי ובן גרני אשר שמעתי מאת יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל הגדתי לכם ס (Ⅴ)

- Oracle sur Duma. On me crie de Séir: Sentinelle, que dis-tu de la nuit? Sentinelle, que dis-tu de la nuit? (Ⅱ) - The burden of Dumah. He calleth to me out of Seir, Watchman, what of the night? - La sentinelle répond: Le matin vient, et la nuit aussi. Si vous voulez interroger, interrogez; Convertissez-vous, et revenez. (Ⅱ) - The watchman said, The morning cometh, and also the night: if ye will enquire, enquire ye: return, come. (Ⅲ) - φυλάσσω τὸ πρωὶ καὶ τὴν νύκτα ἐὰν ζητη̨̃ς ζήτει καὶ παρ' ἐμοὶ οἴκει (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃21 אמר שמר אתה בקר וגם לילה אם תבעיון בעיו שבו אתיו ס (Ⅴ)

- Oracle sur l'Arabie. Vous passerez la nuit dans les broussailles de l'Arabie, Caravanes de Dedan! (Ⅱ) - The burden upon Arabia. In the forest in Arabia shall ye lodge, O ye travelling companies of Dedanim. (Ⅲ) - ἐν τω̨̃ δρυμω̨̃ ἑσπέρας κοιμηθήση̨ ἐν τη̨̃ ὁδω̨̃ Δαιδαν (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃21 משא בערב ביער בערב תלינו ארחות דדנים (Ⅴ)

(Ⅲ) - εἰς συνάντησιν διψω̃ντι ὕδωρ φέρετε οἱ ἐνοικου̃ντες ἐν χώρα̨ Θαιμαν ἄρτοις συναντα̃τε τοι̃ς φεύγουσιν (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃21 לקראת צמא התיו מים ישבי ארץ תימא בלחמו קדמו נדד (Ⅴ)

A facie enim gladiorum fugerunt,/ a facie gladii imminentis,/ a facie arcus extenti,/ a facie gravis prælii./
- Car ils fuient devant les épées, Devant l'épée nue, devant l'arc tendu, Devant un combat acharné. (Ⅱ) - For they fled from the swords, from the drawn sword, and from the bent bow, and from the grievousness of war. (Ⅲ) - διὰ τὸ πλη̃θος τω̃ν φευγόντων καὶ διὰ τὸ πλη̃θος τω̃ν πλανωμένων καὶ διὰ τὸ πλη̃θος τη̃ς μαχαίρας καὶ διὰ τὸ πλη̃θος τω̃ν τοξευμάτων τω̃ν διατεταμένων καὶ διὰ τὸ πλη̃θος τω̃ν πεπτωκότων ἐν τω̨̃ πολέμω̨ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃21 כי מפני חרבות נדדו מפני חרב נטושה ומפני קשת דרוכה ומפני כבד מלחמה ס (Ⅴ)

Quoniam hæc dicit Dominus ad me :/ Adhuc in uno anno, quasi in anno mercenarii,/ et auferetur omnis gloria Cedar./
- Car ainsi m'a parlé le Seigneur: Encore une année, comme les années d'un mercenaire, Et c'en est fait de toute la gloire de Kédar. (Ⅱ) - For thus hath the LORD said unto me, Within a year, according to the years of an hireling, and all the glory of Kedar shall fail: (Ⅲ) - ὅτι οὕτως εἰ̃πέν μοι κύριος ἔτι ἐνιαυτὸς ὡς ἐνιαυτὸς μισθωτου̃ ἐκλείψει ἡ δόξα τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Κηδαρ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃21 כי כה אמר אדני אלי בעוד שנה כשני שכיר וכלה כל כבוד קדר (Ⅴ)

Et reliquiæ numeri sagittariorum fortium/ de filiis Cedar imminuentur ;/ Dominus enim Deus Israël locutus est.]
- Il ne restera qu'un petit nombre des vaillants archers, fils de Kédar, Car l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël, l'a déclaré. (Ⅱ) - And the residue of the number of archers, the mighty men of the children of Kedar, shall be diminished: for the LORD God of Israel hath spoken it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ τὸ κατάλοιπον τω̃ν τοξευμάτων τω̃ν ἰσχυρω̃ν υἱω̃ν Κηδαρ ἔσται ὀλίγον διότι κύριος ἐλάλησεν ὁ θεὸς Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃21 ושאר מספר קשת גבורי בני קדר ימעטו כי יהוה אלהי ישראל דבר ס (Ⅴ)
