Then David said, This is the house of the LORD God, and this is the altar of the burnt offering for Israel.
- Et David dit: Ici sera la maison de l'Éternel Dieu, et ici sera l'autel des holocaustes pour Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ οὑ̃τός ἐστιν ὁ οἰ̃κος κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ καὶ του̃το τὸ θυσιαστήριον εἰς ὁλοκαύτωσιν τω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque David : Hæc est domus Dei, et hoc altare in holocaustum Israëli. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃22 ויאמר דויד זה הוא בית יהוה האלהים וזה מזבח לעלה לישראל ס (Ⅴ)

And David commanded to gather together the strangers that were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to hew wrought stones to build the house of God.
- David fit rassembler les étrangers qui étaient dans le pays d'Israël, et il chargea des tailleurs de pierres de préparer des pierres de taille pour la construction de la maison de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ συναγαγει̃ν πάντας τοὺς προσηλύτους ἐν γη̨̃ Ισραηλ καὶ κατέστησεν λατόμους λατομη̃σαι λίθους ξυστοὺς του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Et præcepit ut congregarentur omnes proselyti de terra Israël, et constituit ex eis latomos ad cædendos lapides et poliendos, ut ædificaretur domus Dei. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃22 ויאמר דויד לכנוס את הגרים אשר בארץ ישראל ויעמד חצבים לחצוב אבני גזית לבנות בית האלהים (Ⅴ)

And David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the joinings; and brass in abundance without weight;
- Il prépara aussi du fer en abondance pour les clous des battants des portes et pour les crampons, de l'airain en quantité telle qu'il n'était pas possible de le peser, (Ⅱ) - καὶ σίδηρον πολὺν εἰς τοὺς ἥλους τω̃ν θυρωμάτων καὶ τω̃ν πυλω̃ν καὶ τοὺς στροφει̃ς ἡτοίμασεν Δαυιδ καὶ χαλκὸν εἰς πλη̃θος οὐκ ἠ̃ν σταθμός (Ⅲ) - Ferrum quoque plurimum ad clavos januarum, et ad commissuras atque juncturas, præparavit David : et æris pondus innumerabile. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃22 וברזל לרב למסמרים לדלתות השערים ולמחברות הכין דויד ונחשת לרב אין משקל (Ⅴ)

Also cedar trees in abundance: for the Zidonians and they of Tyre brought much cedar wood to David.
- et des bois de cèdre sans nombre, car les Sidoniens et les Tyriens avaient amené à David des bois de cèdre en abondance. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ξύλα κέδρινα οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἀριθμός ὅτι ἐφέροσαν οἱ Σιδώνιοι καὶ οἱ Τύριοι ξύλα κέδρινα εἰς πλη̃θος τω̨̃ Δαυιδ (Ⅲ) - Ligna quoque cedrina non poterant æstimari, quæ Sidonii et Tyrii deportaverant ad David. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃22 ועצי ארזים לאין מספר כי הביאו הצידנים והצרים עצי ארזים לרב לדויד פ (Ⅴ)

And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death.
- David disait: Mon fils Salomon est jeune et d'un âge faible, et la maison qui sera bâtie à l'Éternel s'élèvera à un haut degré de renommée et de gloire dans tous les pays; c'est pourquoi je veux faire pour lui des préparatifs. Et David fit beaucoup de préparatifs avant sa mort. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ Σαλωμων ὁ υἱός μου παιδάριον ἁπαλόν καὶ ὁ οἰ̃κος του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ εἰς μεγαλωσύνην ἄνω εἰς ὄνομα καὶ εἰς δόξαν εἰς πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν ἑτοιμάσω αὐτω̨̃ καὶ ἡτοίμασεν Δαυιδ εἰς πλη̃θος ἔμπροσθεν τη̃ς τελευτη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et dixit David : Solomon filius meus puer parvulus est et delicatus : domus autem, quam ædificari volo Domino, talis esse debet ut in cunctis regionibus nominetur : præparabo ergo ei necessaria. Et ob hanc causam ante mortem suam omnes præparavit impensas.\ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃22 ויאמר דויד שלמה בני נער ורך והבית לבנות ליהוה להגדיל למעלה לשם ולתפארת לכל הארצות אכינה נא לו ויכן דויד לרב לפני מותו (Ⅴ)

Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel.
- David appela Salomon, son fils, et lui ordonna de bâtir une maison à l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκάλεσεν Σαλωμων τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐνετείλατο αὐτω̨̃ του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι τὸν οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Vocavitque Salomonem filium suum, et præcepit ei ut ædificaret domum Domino Deo Israël. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃22 ויקרא לשלמה בנו ויצוהו לבנות בית ליהוה אלהי ישראל ס (Ⅴ)

And David said to Solomon, My son, as for me, it was in my mind to build an house unto the name of the LORD my God:
- David dit à Salomon: Mon fils, j'avais l'intention de bâtir une maison au nom de l'Éternel, mon Dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Δαυιδ Σαλωμων τέκνον ἐμοὶ ἐγένετο ἐπὶ ψυχη̨̃ του̃ οἰκοδομη̃σαι οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου θεου̃ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque David ad Salomonem : Fili mi, voluntatis meæ fuit ut ædificarem domum nomini Domini Dei mei : (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃22 ויאמר דויד לשלמה *בנו **בני אני היה עם לבבי לבנות בית לשם יהוה אלהי (Ⅴ)

But the word of the LORD came to me, saying, Thou hast shed blood abundantly, and hast made great wars: thou shalt not build an house unto my name, because thou hast shed much blood upon the earth in my sight.
- Mais la parole de l'Éternel m'a été ainsi adressée: Tu as versé beaucoup de sang, et tu as fait de grandes guerres; tu ne bâtiras pas une maison à mon nom, car tu as versé devant moi beaucoup de sang sur la terre. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ' ἐμοὶ λόγος κυρίου λέγων αἱ̃μα εἰς πλη̃θος ἐξέχεας καὶ πολέμους μεγάλους ἐποίησας οὐκ οἰκοδομήσεις οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματί μου ὅτι αἵματα πολλὰ ἐξέχεας ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἐναντίον μου (Ⅲ) - sed factus est sermo Domini ad me, dicens : Multum sanguinem effudisti, et plurima bella bellasti : non poteris ædificare domum nomini meo, tanto effuso sanguine coram me : (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃22 ויהי עלי דבר יהוה לאמר דם לרב שפכת ומלחמות גדלות עשית לא תבנה בית לשמי כי דמים רבים שפכת ארצה לפני (Ⅴ)

Behold, a son shall be born to thee, who shall be a man of rest; and I will give him rest from all his enemies round about: for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness unto Israel in his days.
- Voici, il te naîtra un fils, qui sera un homme de repos, et à qui je donnerai du repos en le délivrant de tous ses ennemis d'alentour; car Salomon sera son nom, et je ferai venir sur Israël la paix et la tranquillité pendant sa vie. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ υἱὸς τίκτεταί σοι οὑ̃τος ἔσται ἀνὴρ ἀναπαύσεως καὶ ἀναπαύσω αὐτὸν ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν κυκλόθεν ὅτι Σαλωμων ὄνομα αὐτω̨̃ καὶ εἰρήνην καὶ ἡσυχίαν δώσω ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - filius qui nascetur tibi, erit vir quietissimus : faciam enim eum requiescere ab omnibus inimicis suis per circuitum : et ob hanc causam Pacificus vocabitur : et pacem et otium dabo in Israël cunctis diebus ejus. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃22 הנה בן נולד לך הוא יהיה איש מנוחה והנחותי לו מכל אויביו מסביב כי שלמה יהיה שמו ושלום ושקט אתן על ישראל בימיו (Ⅴ)

He shall build an house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.
- Ce sera lui qui bâtira une maison à mon nom. Il sera pour moi un fils, et je serai pour lui un père; et j'affermirai pour toujours le trône de son royaume en Israël. (Ⅱ) - οὑ̃τος οἰκοδομήσει οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ ὀνόματί μου καὶ οὑ̃τος ἔσται μοι εἰς υἱὸν κἀγὼ αὐτω̨̃ εἰς πατέρα καὶ ἀνορθώσω θρόνον βασιλείας αὐτου̃ ἐν Ισραηλ ἕως αἰω̃νος (Ⅲ) - Ipse ædificabit domum nomini meo, et ipse erit mihi in filium, et ego ero illi in patrem : firmaboque solium regni ejus super Israël in æternum. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃22 הוא יבנה בית לשמי והוא יהיה לי לבן ואני לו לאב והכינותי כסא מלכותו על ישראל עד עולם (Ⅴ)

Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee.
- Maintenant, mon fils, que l'Éternel soit avec toi, afin que tu prospères et que tu bâtisses la maison de l'Éternel, ton Dieu, comme il l'a déclaré à ton égard! (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν υἱέ μου ἔσται μετὰ σου̃ κύριος καὶ εὐοδώσει καὶ οἰκοδομήσεις οἰ̃κον τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ σου ὡς ἐλάλησεν περὶ σου̃ (Ⅲ) - Nunc ergo fili mi, sit Dominus tecum, et prosperare, et ædifica domum Domino Deo tuo sicut locutus est de te. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃22 עתה בני יהי יהוה עמך והצלחת ובנית בית יהוה אלהיך כאשר דבר עליך (Ⅴ)

Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
- Veuille seulement l'Éternel t'accorder de la sagesse et de l'intelligence, et te faire régner sur Israël dans l'observation de la loi de l'Éternel, ton Dieu! (Ⅱ) - ἀλλ' ἢ δώ̨η σοι σοφίαν καὶ σύνεσιν κύριος καὶ κατισχύσαι σε ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ του̃ φυλάσσεσθαι καὶ του̃ ποιει̃ν τὸν νόμον κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ σου (Ⅲ) - Det quoque Dominus prudentiam et sensum ut regere possis Israël, et custodire legem Domini Dei tui. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃22 אך יתן לך יהוה שכל ובינה ויצוך על ישראל ולשמור את תורת יהוה אלהיך (Ⅴ)

Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed.
- Alors tu prospéreras, si tu as soin de mettre en pratique les lois et les ordonnances que l'Éternel a prescrites à Moïse pour Israël. Fortifie-toi et prends courage, ne crains point et ne t'effraie point. (Ⅱ) - τότε εὐοδώσει ἐὰν φυλάξη̨ς του̃ ποιει̃ν τὰ προστάγματα καὶ τὰ κρίματα ἃ ἐνετείλατο κύριος τω̨̃ Μωυση̨̃ ἐπὶ Ισραηλ ἀνδρίζου καὶ ἴσχυε μὴ φοβου̃ μηδὲ πτοηθη̨̃ς (Ⅲ) - Tunc enim proficere poteris, si custodieris mandata et judicia quæ præcepit Dominus Moysi ut doceret Israël. Confortare, et viriliter age : ne timeas, neque paveas. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃22 אז תצליח אם תשמור לעשות את החקים ואת המשפטים אשר צוה יהוה את משה על ישראל חזק ואמץ אל תירא ואל תחת (Ⅴ)

Now, behold, in my trouble I have prepared for the house of the LORD an hundred thousand talents of gold, and a thousand thousand talents of silver; and of brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance: timber also and stone have I prepared; and thou mayest add thereto.
- Voici, par mes efforts, j'ai préparé pour la maison de l'Éternel cent mille talents d'or, un million de talents d'argent, et une quantité d'airain et de fer qu'il n'est pas possible de peser, car il y en a en abondance; j'ai aussi préparé du bois et des pierres, et tu en ajouteras encore. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ κατὰ τὴν πτωχείαν μου ἡτοίμασα εἰς οἰ̃κον κυρίου χρυσίου ταλάντων ἑκατὸν χιλιάδας καὶ ἀργυρίου ταλάντων χιλίας χιλιάδας καὶ χαλκὸν καὶ σίδηρον οὑ̃ οὐκ ἔστιν σταθμός ὅτι εἰς πλη̃θός ἐστιν καὶ ξύλα καὶ λίθους ἡτοίμασα καὶ πρὸς ταυ̃τα πρόσθες (Ⅲ) - Ecce ego in paupertate mea præparavi impensas domus Domini, auri talenta centum millia, et argenti mille millia talentorum : æris vero et ferri non est pondus, vincitur enim numerus magnitudine ; ligna et lapides præparavi ad universa impendia. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃22 והנה בעניי הכינותי לבית יהוה זהב ככרים מאה אלף וכסף אלף אלפים ככרים ולנחשת ולברזל אין משקל כי לרב היה ועצים ואבנים הכינותי ועליהם תוסיף (Ⅴ)

Moreover there are workmen with thee in abundance, hewers and workers of stone and timber, and all manner of cunning men for every manner of work.
- Tu as auprès de toi un grand nombre d'ouvriers, des tailleurs de pierres, et des charpentiers, et des hommes habiles dans toute espèce d'ouvrages. (Ⅱ) - καὶ μετὰ σου̃ εἰς πλη̃θος ποιούντων ἔργα τεχνι̃ται καὶ οἰκοδόμοι λίθων καὶ τέκτονες ξύλων καὶ πα̃ς σοφὸς ἐν παντὶ ἔργω̨ (Ⅲ) - Habes quoque plurimos artifices, latomos, et cæmentarios, artificesque lignorum, et omnium artium ad faciendum opus prudentissimos, (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃22 ועמך לרב עשי מלאכה חצבים וחרשי אבן ועץ וכל חכם בכל מלאכה (Ⅴ)

Of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise therefore, and be doing, and the LORD be with thee.
- L'or, l'argent, l'airain et le fer, sont sans nombre. Lève-toi et agis, et que l'Éternel soit avec toi! (Ⅱ) - ἐν χρυσίω̨ ἐν ἀργυρίω̨ ἐν χαλκω̨̃ καὶ ἐν σιδήρω̨ οὐκ ἔστιν ἀριθμός ἀνάστηθι καὶ ποίει καὶ κύριος μετὰ σου̃ (Ⅲ) - in auro et argento et ære et ferro, cujus non est numerus. Surge igitur et fac, et erit Dominus tecum.\ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃22 לזהב לכסף ולנחשת ולברזל אין מספר קום ועשה ויהי יהוה עמך (Ⅴ)

David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
- David ordonna à tous les chefs d'Israël de venir en aide à Salomon, son fils. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐνετείλατο Δαυιδ τοι̃ς πα̃σιν ἄρχουσιν Ισραηλ ἀντιλαβέσθαι τω̨̃ Σαλωμων υἱω̨̃ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Præcepit quoque David cunctis principibus Israël ut adjuvarent Salomonem filium suum : (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃22 ויצו דויד לכל שרי ישראל לעזר לשלמה בנו (Ⅴ)

Is not the LORD your God with you? and hath he not given you rest on every side? for he hath given the inhabitants of the land into mine hand; and the land is subdued before the LORD, and before his people.
- L'Éternel, votre Dieu, n'est-il pas avec vous, et ne vous a-t-il pas donné du repos de tous côtés? Car il a livré entre mes mains les habitants du pays, et le pays est assujetti devant l'Éternel et devant son peuple. (Ⅱ) - οὐχὶ κύριος μεθ' ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἀνέπαυσεν ὑμα̃ς κυκλόθεν ὅτι ἔδωκεν ἐν χερσὶν τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ὑπετάγη ἡ γη̃ ἐναντίον κυρίου καὶ ἐναντίον λαου̃ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Cernitis, inquiens, quod Dominus Deus vester vobiscum sit, et dederit vobis requiem per circuitum, et tradiderit omnes inimicos vestros in manus vestras, et subjecta sit terra coram Domino, et coram populo ejus. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃22 הלא יהוה אלהיכם עמכם והניח לכם מסביב כי נתן בידי את ישבי הארץ ונכבשה הארץ לפני יהוה ולפני עמו (Ⅴ)

Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God; arise therefore, and build ye the sanctuary of the LORD God, to bring the ark of the covenant of the LORD, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of the LORD.
- Appliquez maintenant votre coeur et votre âme à chercher l'Éternel, votre Dieu; levez-vous, et bâtissez le sanctuaire de l'Éternel Dieu, afin d'amener l'arche de l'alliance de l'Éternel et les ustensiles consacrés à Dieu dans la maison qui sera bâtie au nom de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - νυ̃ν δότε καρδίας ὑμω̃ν καὶ ψυχὰς ὑμω̃ν του̃ ζητη̃σαι τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἐγέρθητε καὶ οἰκοδομήσατε ἁγίασμα κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν του̃ εἰσενέγκαι τὴν κιβωτὸν διαθήκης κυρίου καὶ σκεύη τὰ ἅγια του̃ θεου̃ εἰς οἰ̃κον τὸν οἰκοδομούμενον τω̨̃ ὀνόματι κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Præbete igitur corda vestra et animas vestras, ut quæratis Dominum Deum vestrum : et consurgite, et ædificate sanctuarium Domino Deo, ut introducatur arca fœderis Domini, et vasa Domino consecrata, in domum quæ ædificatur nomini Domini. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃22 עתה תנו לבבכם ונפשכם לדרוש ליהוה אלהיכם וקומו ובנו את מקדש יהוה האלהים להביא את ארון ברית יהוה וכלי קדש האלהים לבית הנבנה לשם יהוה פ (Ⅴ)
