Vixit autem Sara centum viginti septem annis.
- La vie de Sara fut de cent vingt-sept ans: telles sont les années de la vie de Sara. (Ⅱ) - And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these were the years of the life of Sarah. (Ⅲ) - ἐγένετο δὲ ἡ ζωὴ Σαρρας ἔτη ἑκατὸν εἴκοσι ἑπτά (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃23 ויהיו חיי שרה מאה שנה ועשרים שנה ושבע שנים שני חיי שרה (Ⅴ)

Et mortua est in civitate Arbee, quæ est Hebron, in terra Chanaan : venitque Abraham ut plangeret et fleret eam.
- Sara mourut à Kirjath Arba, qui est Hébron, dans le pays de Canaan; et Abraham vint pour mener deuil sur Sara et pour la pleurer. (Ⅱ) - And Sarah died in Kirjatharba; the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπέθανεν Σαρρα ἐν πόλει Αρβοκ ἥ ἐστιν ἐν τω̨̃ κοιλώματι αὕτη ἐστὶν Χεβρων ἐν γη̨̃ Χανααν ἠ̃λθεν δὲ Αβρααμ κόψασθαι Σαρραν καὶ πενθη̃σαι (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃23 ותמת שרה בקרית ארבע הוא חברון בארץ כנען ויבא אברהם לספד לשרה ולבכתה (Ⅴ)

Cumque surrexisset ab officio funeris, locutus est ad filios Heth, dicens :
- Abraham se leva de devant son mort, et parla ainsi aux fils de Heth: (Ⅱ) - And Abraham stood up from before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀνέστη Αβρααμ ἀπὸ του̃ νεκρου̃ αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Χετ λέγων (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃23 ויקם אברהם מעל פני מתו וידבר אל בני חת לאמר (Ⅴ)

Advena sum et peregrinus apud vos : date mihi jus sepulchri vobiscum, ut sepeliam mortuum meum.
- Je suis étranger et habitant parmi vous; donnez-moi la possession d'un sépulcre chez vous, pour enterrer mon mort et l'ôter de devant moi. (Ⅱ) - I am a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight. (Ⅲ) - πάροικος καὶ παρεπίδημος ἐγώ εἰμι μεθ' ὑμω̃ν δότε οὐ̃ν μοι κτη̃σιν τάφου μεθ' ὑμω̃ν καὶ θάψω τὸν νεκρόν μου ἀπ' ἐμου̃ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃23 גר ותושב אנכי עמכם תנו לי אחזת קבר עמכם ואקברה מתי מלפני (Ⅴ)

Responderunt filii Heth, dicentes :
- Les fils de Heth répondirent à Abraham, en lui disant: (Ⅱ) - And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him, (Ⅲ) - ἀπεκρίθησαν δὲ οἱ υἱοὶ Χετ πρὸς Αβρααμ λέγοντες (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃23 ויענו בני חת את אברהם לאמר לו (Ⅴ)

Audi nos, domine : princeps Dei es apud nos : in electis sepulchris nostris sepeli mortuum tuum, nullusque te prohibere poterit quin in monumento ejus sepelias mortuum tuum.
- Écoute-nous, mon seigneur! Tu es un prince de Dieu au milieu de nous; enterre ton mort dans celui de nos sépulcres que tu choisiras; aucun de nous ne te refusera son sépulcre pour enterrer ton mort. (Ⅱ) - Hear us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. (Ⅲ) - μή κύριε ἄκουσον δὲ ἡμω̃ν βασιλεὺς παρὰ θεου̃ εἰ̃ σὺ ἐν ἡμι̃ν ἐν τοι̃ς ἐκλεκτοι̃ς μνημείοις ἡμω̃ν θάψον τὸν νεκρόν σου οὐδεὶς γὰρ ἡμω̃ν τὸ μνημει̃ον αὐτου̃ κωλύσει ἀπὸ σου̃ του̃ θάψαι τὸν νεκρόν σου ἐκει̃ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃23 שמענו אדני נשיא אלהים אתה בתוכנו במבחר קברינו קבר את מתך איש ממנו את קברו לא יכלה ממך מקבר מתך (Ⅴ)

Surrexit Abraham, et adoravit populum terræ, filios videlicet Heth :
- Abraham se leva, et se prosterna devant le peuple du pays, devant les fils de Heth. (Ⅱ) - And Abraham stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to the children of Heth. (Ⅲ) - ἀναστὰς δὲ Αβρααμ προσεκύνησεν τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς τοι̃ς υἱοι̃ς Χετ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃23 ויקם אברהם וישתחו לעם הארץ לבני חת (Ⅴ)

dixitque ad eos : Si placet animæ vestræ ut sepeliam mortuum meum, audite me, et intercedite pro me apud Ephron filium Seor :
- Et il leur parla ainsi: Si vous permettez que j'enterre mon mort et que je l'ôte de devant mes yeux, écoutez-moi, et priez pour moi Éphron, fils de Tsochar, (Ⅱ) - And he communed with them, saying, If it be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear me, and entreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐλάλησεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Αβρααμ λέγων εἰ ἔχετε τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ ὑμω̃ν ὥστε θάψαι τὸν νεκρόν μου ἀπὸ προσώπου μου ἀκούσατέ μου καὶ λαλήσατε περὶ ἐμου̃ Εφρων τω̨̃ του̃ Σααρ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃23 וידבר אתם לאמר אם יש את נפשכם לקבר את מתי מלפני שמעוני ופגעו לי בעפרון בן צחר (Ⅴ)

ut det mihi speluncam duplicem, quam habet in extrema parte agri sui : pecunia digna tradat eam mihi coram vobis in possessionem sepulchri.
- de me céder la caverne de Macpéla, qui lui appartient, à l'extrémité de son champ, de me la céder contre sa valeur en argent, afin qu'elle me serve de possession sépulcrale au milieu de vous. (Ⅱ) - That he may give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. (Ⅲ) - καὶ δότω μοι τὸ σπήλαιον τὸ διπλου̃ν ὅ ἐστιν αὐτω̨̃ τὸ ὂν ἐν μέρει του̃ ἀγρου̃ αὐτου̃ ἀργυρίου του̃ ἀξίου δότω μοι αὐτὸ ἐν ὑμι̃ν εἰς κτη̃σιν μνημείου (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃23 ויתן לי את מערת המכפלה אשר לו אשר בקצה שדהו בכסף מלא יתננה לי בתוככם לאחזת קבר (Ⅴ)

Habitabat autem Ephron in medio filiorum Heth. Responditque Ephron ad Abraham, cunctis audientibus qui ingrediebantur portam civitatis illius, dicens :
- Éphron était assis parmi les fils de Heth. Et Éphron, le Héthien, répondit à Abraham, en présence des fils de Heth et de tous ceux qui entraient par la porte de sa ville: (Ⅱ) - And Ephron dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that went in at the gate of his city, saying, (Ⅲ) - Εφρων δὲ ἐκάθητο ἐν μέσω̨ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Χετ ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Εφρων ὁ Χετται̃ος πρὸς Αβρααμ εἰ̃πεν ἀκουόντων τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Χετ καὶ πάντων τω̃ν εἰσπορευομένων εἰς τὴν πόλιν λέγων (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃23 ועפרון ישב בתוך בני חת ויען עפרון החתי את אברהם באזני בני חת לכל באי שער עירו לאמר (Ⅴ)

Nequaquam ita fiat, domine mi, sed tu magis ausculta quod loquor. Agrum trado tibi, et speluncam quæ in eo est, præsentibus filiis populi mei ; sepeli mortuum tuum.
- Non, mon seigneur, écoute-moi! Je te donne le champ, et je te donne la caverne qui y est. Je te les donne, aux yeux des fils de mon peuple: enterre ton mort. (Ⅱ) - Nay, my lord, hear me: the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee: bury thy dead. (Ⅲ) - παρ' ἐμοὶ γενου̃ κύριε καὶ ἄκουσόν μου τὸν ἀγρὸν καὶ τὸ σπήλαιον τὸ ἐν αὐτω̨̃ σοι δίδωμι ἐναντίον πάντων τω̃ν πολιτω̃ν μου δέδωκά σοι θάψον τὸν νεκρόν σου (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃23 לא אדני שמעני השדה נתתי לך והמערה אשר בו לך נתתיה לעיני בני עמי נתתיה לך קבר מתך (Ⅴ)

Adoravit Abraham coram populo terræ.
- Abraham se prosterna devant le peuple du pays. (Ⅱ) - And Abraham bowed down himself before the people of the land. (Ⅲ) - καὶ προσεκύνησεν Αβρααμ ἐναντίον του̃ λαου̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃23 וישתחו אברהם לפני עם הארץ (Ⅴ)

Et locutus est ad Ephron circumstante plebe : Quæso ut audias me : dabo pecuniam pro agro : suscipe eam, et sic sepeliam mortuum meum in eo.
- Et il parla ainsi à Éphron, en présence du peuple du pays: Écoute-moi, je te prie! Je donne le prix du champ: accepte-le de moi; et j'y enterrerai mon mort. (Ⅱ) - And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I will bury my dead there. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ Εφρων εἰς τὰ ὠ̃τα του̃ λαου̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἐπειδὴ πρὸς ἐμου̃ εἰ̃ ἄκουσόν μου τὸ ἀργύριον του̃ ἀγρου̃ λαβὲ παρ' ἐμου̃ καὶ θάψω τὸν νεκρόν μου ἐκει̃ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃23 וידבר אל עפרון באזני עם הארץ לאמר אך אם אתה לו שמעני נתתי כסף השדה קח ממני ואקברה את מתי שמה (Ⅴ)

- Et Éphron répondit à Abraham, en lui disant: (Ⅱ) - And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto him, (Ⅲ) - ἀπεκρίθη δὲ Εφρων τω̨̃ Αβρααμ λέγων (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃23 ויען עפרון את אברהם לאמר לו (Ⅴ)

Domine mi, audi me : terra, quam postulas, quadringentis siclis argenti valet : istud est pretium inter me et te : sed quantum est hoc ? sepeli mortuum tuum.
- Mon seigneur, écoute-moi! Une terre de quatre cents sicles d'argent, qu'est-ce que cela entre moi et toi? Enterre ton mort. (Ⅱ) - My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore thy dead. (Ⅲ) - οὐχί κύριε ἀκήκοα γη̃ τετρακοσίων διδράχμων ἀργυρίου ἀνὰ μέσον ἐμου̃ καὶ σου̃ τί ἂν εἴη του̃το σὺ δὲ τὸν νεκρόν σου θάψον (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃23 אדני שמעני ארץ ארבע מאת שקל כסף ביני ובינך מה הוא ואת מתך קבר (Ⅴ)

Quod cum audisset Abraham, appendit pecuniam, quam Ephron postulaverat, audientibus filiis Heth, quadringentos siclos argenti probatæ monetæ publicæ.
- Abraham comprit Éphron; et Abraham pesa à Éphron l'argent qu'il avait dit, en présence des fils de Heth, quatre cents sicles d'argent ayant cours chez le marchand. (Ⅱ) - And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with the merchant. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἤκουσεν Αβρααμ του̃ Εφρων καὶ ἀπεκατέστησεν Αβρααμ τω̨̃ Εφρων τὸ ἀργύριον ὃ ἐλάλησεν εἰς τὰ ὠ̃τα τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Χετ τετρακόσια δίδραχμα ἀργυρίου δοκίμου ἐμπόροις (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃23 וישמע אברהם אל עפרון וישקל אברהם לעפרן את הכסף אשר דבר באזני בני חת ארבע מאות שקל כסף עבר לסחר (Ⅴ)

Confirmatusque est ager quondam Ephronis, in quo erat spelunca duplex, respiciens Mambre, tam ipse, quam spelunca, et omnes arbores ejus in cunctis terminis ejus per circuitum,
- Le champ d'Éphron à Macpéla, vis-à-vis de Mamré, le champ et la caverne qui y est, et tous les arbres qui sont dans le champ et dans toutes ses limites alentour, (Ⅱ) - And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah, which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein, and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the borders round about, were made sure (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔστη ὁ ἀγρὸς Εφρων ὃς ἠ̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ διπλω̨̃ σπηλαίω̨ ὅς ἐστιν κατὰ πρόσωπον Μαμβρη ὁ ἀγρὸς καὶ τὸ σπήλαιον ὃ ἠ̃ν ἐν αὐτω̨̃ καὶ πα̃ν δένδρον ὃ ἠ̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ ἀγρω̨̃ ὅ ἐστιν ἐν τοι̃ς ὁρίοις αὐτου̃ κύκλω̨ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃23 ויקם שדה עפרון אשר במכפלה אשר לפני ממרא השדה והמערה אשר בו וכל העץ אשר בשדה אשר בכל גבלו סביב (Ⅴ)

Abrahæ in possessionem, videntibus filiis Heth, et cunctis qui intrabant portam civitatis illius.
- devinrent ainsi la propriété d'Abraham, aux yeux des fils de Heth et de tous ceux qui entraient par la porte de sa ville. (Ⅱ) - Unto Abraham for a possession in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went in at the gate of his city. (Ⅲ) - τω̨̃ Αβρααμ εἰς κτη̃σιν ἐναντίον τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Χετ καὶ πάντων τω̃ν εἰσπορευομένων εἰς τὴν πόλιν (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃23 לאברהם למקנה לעיני בני חת בכל באי שער עירו (Ⅴ)

Atque ita sepelivit Abraham Saram uxorem suam in spelunca agri duplici, quæ respiciebat Mambre. Hæc est Hebron in terra Chanaan.
- Après cela, Abraham enterra Sara, sa femme, dans la caverne du champ de Macpéla, vis-à-vis de Mamré, qui est Hébron, dans le pays de Canaan. (Ⅱ) - And after this, Abraham buried Sarah his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. (Ⅲ) - μετὰ ταυ̃τα ἔθαψεν Αβρααμ Σαρραν τὴν γυναι̃κα αὐτου̃ ἐν τω̨̃ σπηλαίω̨ του̃ ἀγρου̃ τω̨̃ διπλω̨̃ ὅ ἐστιν ἀπέναντι Μαμβρη αὕτη ἐστὶν Χεβρων ἐν τη̨̃ γη̨̃ Χανααν (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃23 ואחרי כן קבר אברהם את שרה אשתו אל מערת שדה המכפלה על פני ממרא הוא חברון בארץ כנען (Ⅴ)

Et confirmatus est ager, et antrum quod erat in eo, Abrahæ in possessionem monumenti a filiis Heth.
- Le champ et la caverne qui y est demeurèrent à Abraham comme possession sépulcrale, acquise des fils de Heth. (Ⅱ) - And the field, and the cave that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐκυρώθη ὁ ἀγρὸς καὶ τὸ σπήλαιον ὃ ἠ̃ν ἐν αὐτω̨̃ τω̨̃ Αβρααμ εἰς κτη̃σιν τάφου παρὰ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Χετ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃23 ויקם השדה והמערה אשר בו לאברהם לאחזת קבר מאת בני חת ס (Ⅴ)
