And it came to pass a long time after that the LORD had given rest unto Israel from all their enemies round about, that Joshua waxed old and stricken in age.
- Depuis longtemps l'Éternel avait donné du repos à Israël, en le délivrant de tous les ennemis qui l'entouraient. Josué était vieux, avancé en âge. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο μεθ' ἡμέρας πλείους μετὰ τὸ καταπαυ̃σαι κύριον τὸν Ισραηλ ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν ἐχθρω̃ν αὐτω̃ν κυκλόθεν καὶ 'Ιησου̃ς πρεσβύτερος προβεβηκὼς ται̃ς ἡμέραις (Ⅲ) - Evoluto autem multo tempore, postquam pacem dederat Dominus Israëli, subjectis in gyro nationibus universis, et Josue jam longævo, et persenilis ætatis, (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃23 ויהי מימים רבים אחרי אשר הניח יהוה לישראל מכל איביהם מסביב ויהושע זקן בא בימים (Ⅴ)

And Joshua called for all Israel, and for their elders, and for their heads, and for their judges, and for their officers, and said unto them, I am old and stricken in age:
- Alors Josué convoqua tout Israël, ses anciens, ses chefs, ses juges et ses officiers. Il leur dit: Je suis vieux, je suis avancé en âge. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνεκάλεσεν 'Ιησου̃ς πάντας τοὺς υἱοὺς Ισραηλ καὶ τὴν γερουσίαν αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς ἄρχοντας αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς γραμματει̃ς αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς δικαστὰς αὐτω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς ἐγὼ γεγήρακα καὶ προβέβηκα ται̃ς ἡμέραις (Ⅲ) - vocavit Josue omnem Israëlem, majoresque natu, et principes ac duces, et magistros, dixitque ad eos : Ego senui, et progressioris ætatis sum : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃23 ויקרא יהושע לכל ישראל לזקניו ולראשיו ולשפטיו ולשטריו ויאמר אלהם אני זקנתי באתי בימים (Ⅴ)

And ye have seen all that the LORD your God hath done unto all these nations because of you; for the LORD your God is he that hath fought for you.
- Vous avez vu tout ce que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, a fait à toutes ces nations devant vous; car c'est l'Éternel, votre Dieu, qui a combattu pour vous. (Ⅱ) - ὑμει̃ς δὲ ἑωράκατε ὅσα ἐποίησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν πα̃σιν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν τούτοις ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν ὁ ἐκπολεμήσας ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - vosque cernitis omnia, quæ fecerit Dominus Deus vester cunctis per circuitum nationibus, quomodo pro vobis ipse pugnaverit : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃23 ואתם ראיתם את כל אשר עשה יהוה אלהיכם לכל הגוים האלה מפניכם כי יהוה אלהיכם הוא הנלחם לכם (Ⅴ)

Behold, I have divided unto you by lot these nations that remain, to be an inheritance for your tribes, from Jordan, with all the nations that I have cut off, even unto the great sea westward.
- Voyez, je vous ai donné en héritage par le sort, selon vos tribus, ces nations qui sont restées, à partir du Jourdain, et toutes les nations que j'ai exterminées, jusqu'à la grande mer vers le soleil couchant. (Ⅱ) - ἴδετε ὅτι ἐπέρριφα ὑμι̃ν τὰ ἔθνη τὰ καταλελειμμένα ὑμι̃ν ταυ̃τα ἐν τοι̃ς κλήροις εἰς τὰς φυλὰς ὑμω̃ν ἀπὸ του̃ Ιορδάνου πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ἃ ἐξωλέθρευσα καὶ ἀπὸ τη̃ς θαλάσσης τη̃ς μεγάλης ὁριει̃ ἐπὶ δυσμὰς ἡλίου (Ⅲ) - et nunc quia vobis sorte divisit omnem terram, ab orientali parte Jordanis usque ad mare magnum, multæque adhuc supersunt nationes : (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃23 ראו הפלתי לכם את הגוים הנשארים האלה בנחלה לשבטיכם מן הירדן וכל הגוים אשר הכרתי והים הגדול מבוא השמש (Ⅴ)

And the LORD your God, he shall expel them from before you, and drive them from out of your sight; and ye shall possess their land, as the LORD your God hath promised unto you.
- L'Éternel, votre Dieu, les repoussera devant vous et les chassera devant vous; et vous posséderez leur pays, comme l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous l'a dit. (Ⅱ) - κύριος δὲ ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν οὑ̃τος ἐξολεθρεύσει αὐτοὺς ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν ἕως ἂν ἀπόλωνται καὶ ἀποστελει̃ αὐτοι̃ς τὰ θηρία τὰ ἄγρια ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύση̨ αὐτοὺς καὶ τοὺς βασιλει̃ς αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν καὶ κατακληρονομήσατε τὴν γη̃ν αὐτω̃ν καθὰ ἐλάλησεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dominus Deus vester disperdet eas et auferet a facie vestra, et possidebitis terram, sicut vobis pollicitus est. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃23 ויהוה אלהיכם הוא יהדפם מפניכם והוריש אתם מלפניכם וירשתם את ארצם כאשר דבר יהוה אלהיכם לכם (Ⅴ)

Be ye therefore very courageous to keep and to do all that is written in the book of the law of Moses, that ye turn not aside therefrom to the right hand or to the left;
- Appliquez-vous avec force à observer et à mettre en pratique tout ce qui est écrit dans le livre de la loi de Moïse, sans vous en détourner ni à droite ni à gauche. (Ⅱ) - κατισχύσατε οὐ̃ν σφόδρα φυλάσσειν καὶ ποιει̃ν πάντα τὰ γεγραμμένα ἐν τω̨̃ βιβλίω̨ του̃ νόμου Μωυση̃ ἵνα μὴ ἐκκλίνητε εἰς δεξιὰν ἢ εὐώνυμα (Ⅲ) - Tantum confortamini, et estote solliciti, ut custodiatis cuncta quæ scripta sunt in volumine legis Moysi : et non declinetis ab eis neque ad dexteram neque ad sinistram : (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃23 וחזקתם מאד לשמר ולעשות את כל הכתוב בספר תורת משה לבלתי סור ממנו ימין ושמאול (Ⅴ)

That ye come not among these nations, these that remain among you; neither make mention of the name of their gods, nor cause to swear by them, neither serve them, nor bow yourselves unto them:
- Ne vous mêlez point avec ces nations qui sont restées parmi vous; ne prononcez point le nom de leurs dieux, et ne l'employez point en jurant; ne les servez point, et ne vous prosternez point devant eux. (Ⅱ) - ὅπως μὴ εἰσέλθητε εἰς τὰ ἔθνη τὰ καταλελειμμένα ταυ̃τα καὶ τὰ ὀνόματα τω̃ν θεω̃ν αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ὀνομασθήσεται ἐν ὑμι̃ν οὐδὲ μὴ προσκυνήσητε αὐτοι̃ς οὐδὲ μὴ λατρεύσητε αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - ne postquam intraveritis ad gentes quæ inter vos futuræ sunt, juretis in nomine deorum earum, et serviatis eis, et adoretis illos : (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃23 לבלתי בוא בגוים האלה הנשארים האלה אתכם ובשם אלהיהם לא תזכירו ולא תשביעו ולא תעבדום ולא תשתחוו להם (Ⅴ)

But cleave unto the LORD your God, as ye have done unto this day.
- Mais attachez-vous à l'Éternel, votre Dieu, comme vous l'avez fait jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ) - ἀλλὰ κυρίω̨ τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν προσκολληθήσεσθε καθάπερ ἐποιήσατε ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ) - sed adhæreatis Domino Deo vestro : quod fecistis usque in diem hanc. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃23 כי אם ביהוה אלהיכם תדבקו כאשר עשיתם עד היום הזה (Ⅴ)

For the LORD hath driven out from before you great nations and strong: but as for you, no man hath been able to stand before you unto this day.
- L'Éternel a chassé devant vous des nations grandes et puissantes; et personne, jusqu'à ce jour, n'a pu vous résister. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξωλέθρευσεν αὐτοὺς κύριος ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν ἔθνη μεγάλα καὶ ἰσχυρά καὶ ὑμι̃ν οὐθεὶς ἀντέστη κατενώπιον ὑμω̃ν ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ) - Et tunc auferet Dominus Deus in conspectu vestro gentes magnas et robustissimas, et nullus vobis resistere poterit. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃23 ויורש יהוה מפניכם גוים גדלים ועצומים ואתם לא עמד איש בפניכם עד היום הזה (Ⅴ)

One man of you shall chase a thousand: for the LORD your God, he it is that fighteth for you, as he hath promised you.
- Un seul d'entre vous en poursuivait mille; car l'Éternel, votre Dieu, combattait pour vous, comme il vous l'a dit. (Ⅱ) - εἱ̃ς ὑμω̃ν ἐδίωξεν χιλίους ὅτι κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν ἐξεπολέμει ὑμι̃ν καθάπερ εἰ̃πεν ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - Unus e vobis persequetur hostium mille viros : quia Dominus Deus vester pro vobis ipse pugnabit, sicut pollicitus est. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃23 איש אחד מכם ירדף אלף כי יהוה אלהיכם הוא הנלחם לכם כאשר דבר לכם (Ⅴ)

Take good heed therefore unto yourselves, that ye love the LORD your God.
- Veillez donc attentivement sur vos âmes, afin d'aimer l'Éternel, votre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ φυλάξασθε σφόδρα του̃ ἀγαπα̃ν κύριον τὸν θεὸν ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Hoc tantum diligentissime præcavete : ut diligatis Dominum Deum vestrum. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃23 ונשמרתם מאד לנפשתיכם לאהבה את יהוה אלהיכם (Ⅴ)

Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:
- Si vous vous détournez et que vous vous attachez au reste de ces nations qui sont demeurées parmi vous, si vous vous unissez avec elles par des mariages, et si vous formez ensemble des relations, (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν γὰρ ἀποστραφη̃τε καὶ προσθη̃σθε τοι̃ς ὑπολειφθει̃σιν ἔθνεσιν τούτοις τοι̃ς μεθ' ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἐπιγαμίας ποιήσητε πρὸς αὐτοὺς καὶ συγκαταμιγη̃τε αὐτοι̃ς καὶ αὐτοὶ ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - Quod si volueritis gentium harum, quæ inter vos habitant, erroribus adhærere, et cum eis miscere connubia, atque amicitias copulare : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃23 כי אם שוב תשובו ודבקתם ביתר הגוים האלה הנשארים האלה אתכם והתחתנתם בהם ובאתם בהם והם בכם (Ⅴ)

Know for a certainty that the LORD your God will no more drive out any of these nations from before you; but they shall be snares and traps unto you, and scourges in your sides, and thorns in your eyes, until ye perish from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
- soyez certains que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, ne continuera pas à chasser ces nations devant vous; mais elles seront pour vous un filet et un piège, un fouet dans vos côtés et des épines dans vos yeux, jusqu'à ce que vous ayez péri de dessus ce bon pays que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a donné. (Ⅱ) - γινώσκετε ὅτι οὐ μὴ προσθη̨̃ κύριος του̃ ἐξολεθρευ̃σαι τὰ ἔθνη ταυ̃τα ἀπὸ προσώπου ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἔσονται ὑμι̃ν εἰς παγίδας καὶ εἰς σκάνδαλα καὶ εἰς ἥλους ἐν ται̃ς πτέρναις ὑμω̃ν καὶ εἰς βολίδας ἐν τοι̃ς ὀφθαλμοι̃ς ὑμω̃ν ἕως ἂν ἀπόλησθε ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς τη̃ς ἀγαθη̃ς ταύτης ἣν ἔδωκεν ὑμι̃ν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - jam nunc scitote quod Dominus Deus vester non eas deleat ante faciem vestram, sed sint vobis in foveam ac laqueum, et offendiculum ex latere vestro, et sudes in oculis vestris, donec vos auferat atque disperdat de terra hac optima, quam tradidit vobis. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃23 ידוע תדעו כי לא יוסיף יהוה אלהיכם להוריש את הגוים האלה מלפניכם והיו לכם לפח ולמוקש ולשטט בצדיכם ולצננים בעיניכם עד אבדכם מעל האדמה הטובה הזאת אשר נתן לכם יהוה אלהיכם (Ⅴ)

And, behold, this day I am going the way of all the earth: and ye know in all your hearts and in all your souls, that not one thing hath failed of all the good things which the LORD your God spake concerning you; all are come to pass unto you, and not one thing hath failed thereof.
- Voici, je m'en vais maintenant par le chemin de toute la terre. Reconnaissez de tout votre coeur et de toute votre âme qu'aucune de toutes les bonnes paroles prononcées sur vous par l'Éternel, votre Dieu, n'est restée sans effet; toutes se sont accomplies pour vous, aucune n'est restée sans effet. (Ⅱ) - ἐγὼ δὲ ἀποτρέχω τὴν ὁδὸν καθὰ καὶ πάντες οἱ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ γνώσεσθε τη̨̃ καρδία̨ ὑμω̃ν καὶ τη̨̃ ψυχη̨̃ ὑμω̃ν διότι οὐ διέπεσεν εἱ̃ς λόγος ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν λόγων ὡ̃ν εἰ̃πεν κύριος ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν πρὸς πάντα τὰ ἀνήκοντα ὑμι̃ν οὐ διεφώνησεν ἐξ αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - En ego hodie ingredior viam universæ terræ, et toto animo cognoscetis quod de omnibus verbis, quæ se Dominus præstiturum vobis esse pollicitus est, unum non præterierit incassum. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃23 והנה אנכי הולך היום בדרך כל הארץ וידעתם בכל לבבכם ובכל נפשכם כי לא נפל דבר אחד מכל הדברים הטובים אשר דבר יהוה אלהיכם עליכם הכל באו לכם לא נפל ממנו דבר אחד (Ⅴ)

Therefore it shall come to pass, that as all good things are come upon you, which the LORD your God promised you; so shall the LORD bring upon you all evil things, until he have destroyed you from off this good land which the LORD your God hath given you.
- Et comme toutes les bonnes paroles que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous avait dites se sont accomplies pour vous, de même l'Éternel accomplira sur vous toutes les paroles mauvaises, jusqu'à ce qu'il vous ait détruits de dessus ce bon pays que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a donné. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ὃν τρόπον ἥκει ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς πάντα τὰ ῥήματα τὰ καλά ἃ ἐλάλησεν κύριος πρὸς ὑμα̃ς οὕτως ἐπάξει κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς πάντα τὰ ῥήματα τὰ πονηρά ἕως ἂν ἐξολεθρεύση̨ ὑμα̃ς ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς τη̃ς ἀγαθη̃ς ταύτης ἡ̃ς ἔδωκεν κύριος ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - Sicut ergo implevit opere quod promisit, et prospera cuncta venerunt : sic adducet super vos quidquid malorum comminatus est, donec vos auferat atque disperdat de terra hac optima, quam tradidit vobis, (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃23 והיה כאשר בא עליכם כל הדבר הטוב אשר דבר יהוה אלהיכם אליכם כן יביא יהוה עליכם את כל הדבר הרע עד השמידו אותכם מעל האדמה הטובה הזאת אשר נתן לכם יהוה אלהיכם (Ⅴ)

When ye have transgressed the covenant of the LORD your God, which he commanded you, and have gone and served other gods, and bowed yourselves to them; then shall the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and ye shall perish quickly from off the good land which he hath given unto you.
- Si vous transgressez l'alliance que l'Éternel, votre Dieu, vous a prescrite, et si vous allez servir d'autres dieux et vous prosterner devant eux, la colère de l'Éternel s'enflammera contre vous, et vous périrez promptement dans le bon pays qu'il vous a donné. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ παραβη̃ναι ὑμα̃ς τὴν διαθήκην κυρίου του̃ θεου̃ ὑμω̃ν ἣν ἐνετείλατο ὑμι̃ν καὶ πορευθέντες λατρεύσητε θεοι̃ς ἑτέροις καὶ προσκυνήσητε αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅲ) - eo quod præterieritis pactum Domini Dei vestri, quod pepigit vobiscum, et servieritis diis alienis, et adoraveritis eos : cito atque velociter consurget in vos furor Domini, et auferemini ab hac terra optima, quam tradidit vobis. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃23 בעברכם את ברית יהוה אלהיכם אשר צוה אתכם והלכתם ועבדתם אלהים אחרים והשתחויתם להם וחרה אף יהוה בכם ואבדתם מהרה מעל הארץ הטובה אשר נתן לכם פ (Ⅴ)
