The word that came to Jeremiah concerning all the people of Judah in the fourth year of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, that was the first year of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon;
- La parole fut adressée à Jérémie sur tout le peuple de Juda, la quatrième année de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, -c'était la première année de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, - (Ⅱ) - Verbum quod factum est ad Jeremiam, de omni populo Juda, in anno quarto Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda (ipse est annus primus Nabuchodonosor regis Babylonis), (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃25 הדבר אשר היה על ירמיהו על כל עם יהודה בשנה הרבעית ליהויקים בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה היא השנה הראשנית לנבוכדראצר מלך בבל (Ⅴ)

The which Jeremiah the prophet spake unto all the people of Judah, and to all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, saying,
- parole que Jérémie prononça devant tout le peuple de Juda et devant tous les habitants de Jérusalem, en disant: (Ⅱ) - quod locutus est Jeremias propheta ad omnem populum Juda, et ad universos habitatores Jerusalem, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃25 אשר דבר ירמיהו הנביא על כל עם יהודה ואל כל ישבי ירושלם לאמר (Ⅴ)

From the thirteenth year of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, even unto this day, that is the three and twentieth year, the word of the LORD hath come unto me, and I have spoken unto you, rising early and speaking; but ye have not hearkened.
- Depuis la treizième année de Josias, fils d'Amon, roi de Juda, il y a vingt-trois ans que la parole de l'Éternel m'a été adressée; je vous ai parlé, je vous ai parlé dès le matin, et vous n'avez pas écouté. (Ⅱ) - A tertiodecimo anno Josiæ filii Amon regis Juda, usque ad diem hanc, iste tertius et vigesimus annus, factum est verbum Domini ad me, et locutus sum ad vos, de nocte consurgens et loquens, et non audistis. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃25 מן שלש עשרה שנה ליאשיהו בן אמון מלך יהודה ועד היום הזה זה שלש ועשרים שנה היה דבר יהוה אלי ואדבר אליכם אשכים ודבר ולא שמעתם (Ⅴ)

And the LORD hath sent unto you all his servants the prophets, rising early and sending them; but ye have not hearkened, nor inclined your ear to hear.
- L'Éternel vous a envoyé tous ses serviteurs, les prophètes, il les a envoyés dès le matin; et vous n'avez pas écouté, vous n'avez pas prêté l'oreille pour écouter. (Ⅱ) - Et misit Dominus ad vos omnes servos suos prophetas, consurgens diluculo, mittensque : et non audistis, neque inclinastis aures vestras ut audiretis, (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃25 ושלח יהוה אליכם את כל עבדיו הנבאים השכם ושלח ולא שמעתם ולא הטיתם את אזנכם לשמע (Ⅴ)

They said, Turn ye again now every one from his evil way, and from the evil of your doings, and dwell in the land that the LORD hath given unto you and to your fathers for ever and ever:
- Ils ont dit: Revenez chacun de votre mauvaise voie et de la méchanceté de vos actions, et vous resterez dans le pays que j'ai donné à vous et à vos pères, d'éternité en éternité; (Ⅱ) - cum diceret : Revertimini unusquisque a via sua mala, et a pessimis cogitationibus vestris, et habitabitis in terra quam dedit Dominus vobis et patribus vestris, a sæculo et usque in sæculum : (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃25 לאמר שובו נא איש מדרכו הרעה ומרע מעלליכם ושבו על האדמה אשר נתן יהוה לכם ולאבותיכם למן עולם ועד עולם (Ⅴ)

And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you no hurt.
- n'allez pas après d'autres dieux, pour les servir et pour vous prosterner devant eux, ne m'irritez pas par l'ouvrage de vos mains, et je ne vous ferai aucun mal. (Ⅱ) - et nolite ire post deos alienos, ut serviatis eis, adoretisque eos : neque me ad iracundiam provocetis in operibus manuum vestrarum, et non affligam vos. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃25 ואל תלכו אחרי אלהים אחרים לעבדם ולהשתחות להם ולא תכעיסו אותי במעשה ידיכם ולא ארע לכם (Ⅴ)

Yet ye have not hearkened unto me, saith the LORD; that ye might provoke me to anger with the works of your hands to your own hurt.
- Mais vous ne m'avez pas écouté, dit l'Éternel, afin de m'irriter par l'ouvrage de vos mains, pour votre malheur. (Ⅱ) - Et non audistis me, dicit Dominus, ut me ad iracundiam provocaretis in operibus manuum vestrarum, in malum vestrum. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃25 ולא שמעתם אלי נאם יהוה למען *הכעסוני **הכעיסני במעשה ידיכם לרע לכם ס (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD of hosts; Because ye have not heard my words,
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Parce que vous n'avez point écouté mes paroles, (Ⅱ) - Propterea hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Pro eo quod non audistis verba mea, (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃25 לכן כה אמר יהוה צבאות יען אשר לא שמעתם את דברי (Ⅴ)

Behold, I will send and take all the families of the north, saith the LORD, and Nebuchadrezzar the king of Babylon, my servant, and will bring them against this land, and against the inhabitants thereof, and against all these nations round about, and will utterly destroy them, and make them an astonishment, and an hissing, and perpetual desolations.
- j'enverrai chercher tous les peuples du septentrion, dit l'Éternel, et j'enverrai auprès de Nebucadnetsar, roi de Babylone, mon serviteur; je le ferai venir contre ce pays et contre ses habitants, et contre toutes ces nations à l'entour, afin de les dévouer par interdit, et d'en faire un objet de désolation et de moquerie, des ruines éternelles. (Ⅱ) - ecce ego mittam et assumam universas cognationes aquilonis, ait Dominus, et Nabuchodonosor regem Babylonis servum meum, et adducam eos super terram istam, et super habitatores ejus, et super omnes nationes quæ in circuitu illius sunt : et interficiam eos, et ponam eos in stuporem et in sibilum, et in solitudines sempiternas. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃25 הנני שלח ולקחתי את כל משפחות צפון נאם יהוה ואל נבוכדראצר מלך בבל עבדי והבאתים על הארץ הזאת ועל ישביה ועל כל הגוים האלה סביב והחרמתים ושמתים לשמה ולשרקה ולחרבות עולם (Ⅴ)

Moreover I will take from them the voice of mirth, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the sound of the millstones, and the light of the candle.
- Je ferai cesser parmi eux les cris de réjouissance et les cris d'allégresse, les chants du fiancé et les chants de la fiancée, le bruit de la meule et la lumière de la lampe. (Ⅱ) - Perdamque ex eis vocem gaudii et vocem lætitiæ, vocem sponsi et vocem sponsæ, vocem molæ et lumen lucernæ. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃25 והאבדתי מהם קול ששון וקול שמחה קול חתן וקול כלה קול רחים ואור נר (Ⅴ)

And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years.
- Tout ce pays deviendra une ruine, un désert, et ces nations seront asservies au roi de Babylone pendant soixante-dix ans. (Ⅱ) - Et erit universa terra hæc in solitudinem, et in stuporem : et servient omnes gentes istæ regi Babylonis septuaginta annis. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃25 והיתה כל הארץ הזאת לחרבה לשמה ועבדו הגוים האלה את מלך בבל שבעים שנה (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass, when seventy years are accomplished, that I will punish the king of Babylon, and that nation, saith the LORD, for their iniquity, and the land of the Chaldeans, and will make it perpetual desolations.
- Mais lorsque ces soixante-dix ans seront accomplis, je châtierai le roi de Babylone et cette nation, dit l'Éternel, à cause de leurs iniquités; je punirai le pays des Chaldéens, et j'en ferai des ruines éternelles. (Ⅱ) - Cumque impleti fuerint septuaginta anni, visitabo super regem Babylonis et super gentem illam, dicit Dominus, iniquitatem eorum, et super terram Chaldæorum, et ponam illam in solitudines sempiternas. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃25 והיה כמלאות שבעים שנה אפקד על מלך בבל ועל הגוי ההוא נאם יהוה את עונם ועל ארץ כשדים ושמתי אתו לשממות עולם (Ⅴ)

And I will bring upon that land all my words which I have pronounced against it, even all that is written in this book, which Jeremiah hath prophesied against all the nations.
- Je ferai venir sur ce pays toutes les choses que j'ai annoncées sur lui, tout ce qui est écrit dans ce livre, ce que Jérémie a prophétisé sur toutes les nations. (Ⅱ) - Et adducam super terram illam omnia verba mea, quæ locutus sum contra eam, omne quod scriptum est in libro isto, quæcumque prophetavit Jeremias adversum omnes gentes : (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃25 *והבאיתי **והבאתי על הארץ ההיא את כל דברי אשר דברתי עליה את כל הכתוב בספר הזה אשר נבא ירמיהו על כל הגוים (Ⅴ)

For many nations and great kings shall serve themselves of them also: and I will recompense them according to their deeds, and according to the works of their own hands.
- Car des nations puissantes et de grands rois les asserviront, eux aussi, et je leur rendrai selon leurs oeuvres et selon l'ouvrage de leurs mains. (Ⅱ) - quia servierunt eis, cum essent gentes multæ, et reges magni : et reddam eis secundum opera eorum, et secundum facta manuum suarum.\ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃25 כי עבדו בם גם המה גוים רבים ומלכים גדולים ושלמתי להם כפעלם וכמעשה ידיהם ס (Ⅴ)

For thus saith the LORD God of Israel unto me; Take the wine cup of this fury at my hand, and cause all the nations, to whom I send thee, to drink it.
- Car ainsi m'a parlé l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël: Prends de ma main cette coupe remplie du vin de ma colère, Et fais-la boire à toutes les nations Vers lesquelles je t'enverrai. (Ⅱ) - Quia sic dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Sume calicem vini furoris hujus de manu mea, et propinabis de illo cunctis gentibus ad quas ego mittam te. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃25 כי כה אמר יהוה אלהי ישראל אלי קח את כוס היין החמה הזאת מידי והשקיתה אתו את כל הגוים אשר אנכי שלח אותך אליהם (Ⅴ)

And they shall drink, and be moved, and be mad, because of the sword that I will send among them.
- Ils boiront, et ils chancelleront et seront comme fous, A la vue du glaive que j'enverrai au milieu d'eux. (Ⅱ) - Et bibent, et turbabuntur et insanient a facie gladii quem ego mittam inter eos. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃25 ושתו והתגעשו והתהללו מפני החרב אשר אנכי שלח בינתם (Ⅴ)

Then took I the cup at the LORD's hand, and made all the nations to drink, unto whom the LORD had sent me:
- Et je pris la coupe de la main de l'Éternel, Et je la fis boire à toutes les nations Vers lesquelles l'Éternel m'envoyait: (Ⅱ) - Et accepi calicem de manu Domini, et propinavi cunctis gentibus ad quas misit me Dominus, (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃25 ואקח את הכוס מיד יהוה ואשקה את כל הגוים אשר שלחני יהוה אליהם (Ⅴ)

To wit, Jerusalem, and the cities of Judah, and the kings thereof, and the princes thereof, to make them a desolation, an astonishment, an hissing, and a curse; as it is this day;
- A Jérusalem et aux villes de Juda, A ses rois et à ses chefs, Pour en faire une ruine, Un objet de désolation, de moquerie et de malédiction, Comme cela se voit aujourd'hui; (Ⅱ) - Jerusalem, et civitatibus Juda, et regibus ejus, et principibus ejus, ut darem eos in solitudinem, et in stuporem, et in sibilum, et in maledictionem, sicut est dies ista : (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃25 את ירושלם ואת ערי יהודה ואת מלכיה את שריה לתת אתם לחרבה לשמה לשרקה ולקללה כיום הזה (Ⅴ)

Pharaoh king of Egypt, and his servants, and his princes, and all his people;
- A Pharaon, roi d'Égypte, A ses serviteurs, à ses chefs, et à tout son peuple; (Ⅱ) - Pharaoni regi Ægypti, et servis ejus, et principibus ejus, et omni populo ejus : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃25 את פרעה מלך מצרים ואת עבדיו ואת שריו ואת כל עמו (Ⅴ)

And all the mingled people, and all the kings of the land of Uz, and all the kings of the land of the Philistines, and Ashkelon, and Azzah, and Ekron, and the remnant of Ashdod,
- A toute l'Arabie, à tous les rois du pays d'Uts, A tous les rois du pays des Philistins, A Askalon, à Gaza, à Ékron, et à ce qui reste d'Asdod; (Ⅱ) - et universis generaliter : cunctis regibus terræ Ausitidis, et cunctis regibus terræ Philisthiim, et Ascaloni, et Gazæ, et Accaron, et reliquiis Azoti : (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃25 ואת כל הערב ואת כל מלכי ארץ העוץ ואת כל מלכי ארץ פלשתים ואת אשקלון ואת עזה ואת עקרון ואת שארית אשדוד (Ⅴ)

And all the kings of Tyrus, and all the kings of Zidon, and the kings of the isles which are beyond the sea,
- A tous les rois de Tyr, à tous les rois de Sidon, Et aux rois des îles qui sont au delà de la mer; (Ⅱ) - et cunctis regibus Tyri, et universis regibus Sidonis, et regibus terræ insularum qui sunt trans mare : (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃25 ואת כל מלכי צר ואת כל מלכי צידון ואת מלכי האי אשר בעבר הים (Ⅴ)

Dedan, and Tema, and Buz, and all that are in the utmost corners,
- A Dedan, à Théma, à Buz, Et à tous ceux qui se rasent les coins de la barbe; (Ⅱ) - et Dedan, et Thema, et Buz, et universis qui attonsi sunt in comam : (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃25 ואת דדן ואת תימא ואת בוז ואת כל קצוצי פאה (Ⅴ)

And all the kings of Arabia, and all the kings of the mingled people that dwell in the desert,
- A tous les rois d'Arabie, Et à tous les rois des Arabes qui habitent dans le désert; (Ⅱ) - et cunctis regibus Arabiæ, et cunctis regibus occidentis, qui habitant in deserto : (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃25 ואת כל מלכי ערב ואת כל מלכי הערב השכנים במדבר (Ⅴ)

And all the kings of Zimri, and all the kings of Elam, and all the kings of the Medes,
- A tous les rois de Zimri, A tous les rois d'Élam, Et à tous les rois de Médie; (Ⅱ) - et cunctis regibus Zambri, et cunctis regibus Elam, et cunctis regibus Medorum : (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃25 ואת כל מלכי זמרי ואת כל מלכי עילם ואת כל מלכי מדי (Ⅴ)

And all the kings of the north, far and near, one with another, and all the kingdoms of the world, which are upon the face of the earth: and the king of Sheshach shall drink after them.
- A tous les rois du septentrion, Proches ou éloignés, Aux uns et aux autres, Et à tous les royaumes du monde Qui sont sur la face de la terre. Et le roi de Schéschac boira après eux. (Ⅱ) - cunctis quoque regibus aquilonis, de prope et de longe, unicuique contra fratrem suum : et omnibus regnis terræ quæ super faciem ejus sunt : et rex Sesach bibet post eos. (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃25 ואת כל מלכי הצפון הקרבים והרחקים איש אל אחיו ואת כל הממלכות הארץ אשר על פני האדמה ומלך ששך ישתה אחריהם (Ⅴ)

Therefore thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel; Drink ye, and be drunken, and spue, and fall, and rise no more, because of the sword which I will send among you.
- Tu leur diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées, le Dieu d'Israël: Buvez, enivrez-vous, et vomissez, Et tombez sans vous relever, A la vue du glaive que j'enverrai au milieu de vous! (Ⅱ) - Et dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum, Deus Israël : Bibite, et inebriamini, et vomite : et cadite, neque surgatis a facie gladii quem ego mittam inter vos. (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃25 ואמרת אליהם סכה אמר יהוה צבאות אלהי ישראל שתו ושכרו וקיו ונפלו ולא תקומו מפני החרב אשר אנכי שלח ביניכם (Ⅴ)

And it shall be, if they refuse to take the cup at thine hand to drink, then shalt thou say unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Ye shall certainly drink.
- Et s'ils refusent de prendre de ta main la coupe pour boire, Dis-leur: Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Vous boirez! (Ⅱ) - Cumque noluerint accipere calicem de manu tua ut bibant, dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum : Bibentes bibetis : (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃25 והיה כי ימאנו לקחת הכוס מידך לשתות ואמרת אליהם כה אמר יהוה צבאות שתו תשתו (Ⅴ)

For, lo, I begin to bring evil on the city which is called by my name, and should ye be utterly unpunished? Ye shall not be unpunished: for I will call for a sword upon all the inhabitants of the earth, saith the LORD of hosts.
- Car voici, dans la ville sur laquelle mon nom est invoqué Je commence à faire du mal; Et vous, vous resteriez impunis! Vous ne resterez pas impunis; Car j'appellerai le glaive sur tous les habitants de la terre, Dit l'Éternel des armées. (Ⅱ) - quia ecce in civitate in qua invocatum est nomen meum ego incipiam affligere, et vos quasi innocentes et immunes eritis ? non eritis immunes : gladium enim ego voco super omnes habitatores terræ, dicit Dominus exercituum. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃25 כי הנה בעיר אשר נקרא שמי עליה אנכי מחל להרע ואתם הנקה תנקו לא תנקו כי חרב אני קרא על כל ישבי הארץ נאם יהוה צבאות (Ⅴ)

Therefore prophesy thou against them all these words, and say unto them, The LORD shall roar from on high, and utter his voice from his holy habitation; he shall mightily roar upon his habitation; he shall give a shout, as they that tread the grapes, against all the inhabitants of the earth.
- Et toi, tu leur prophétiseras toutes ces choses, Et tu leur diras: L'Éternel rugira d'en haut; De sa demeure sainte il fera retentir sa voix; Il rugira contre le lieu de sa résidence; Il poussera des cris, comme ceux qui foulent au pressoir, Contre tous les habitants de la terre. (Ⅱ) - Et tu prophetabis ad eos omnia verba hæc, et dices ad illos : [Dominus de excelso rugiet,/ et de habitaculo sancto suo dabit vocem suam :/ rugiens rugiet super decorem suum :/ celeuma quasi calcantium concinetur/ adversus omnes habitatores terræ./ (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃25 ואתה תנבא אליהם את כל הדברים האלה ואמרת אליהם יהוה ממרום ישאג וממעון קדשו יתן קולו שאג ישאג על נוהו הידד כדרכים יענה אל כל ישבי הארץ (Ⅴ)

A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, he will plead with all flesh; he will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD.
- Le bruit parvient jusqu'à l'extrémité de la terre; Car l'Éternel est en dispute avec les nations, Il entre en jugement contre toute chair; Il livre les méchants au glaive, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Pervenit sonitus usque ad extrema terræ,/ quia judicium Domino cum gentibus :/ judicatur ipse cum omni carne./ Impios tradidi gladio, dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃25 בא שאון עד קצה הארץ כי ריב ליהוה בגוים נשפט הוא לכל בשר הרשעים נתנם לחרב נאם יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Voici, la calamité va de nation en nation, Et une grande tempête s'élève des extrémités de la terre. (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum :/ Ecce afflictio egredietur de gente in gentem,/ et turbo magnus egredietur a summitatibus terræ./ (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃25 כה אמר יהוה צבאות הנה רעה יצאת מגוי אל גוי וסער גדול יעור מירכתי ארץ (Ⅴ)

And the slain of the LORD shall be at that day from one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth: they shall not be lamented, neither gathered, nor buried; they shall be dung upon the ground.
- Ceux que tuera l'Éternel en ce jour seront étendus D'un bout à l'autre de la terre; Ils ne seront ni pleurés, ni recueillis, ni enterrés, Ils seront comme du fumier sur la terre. (Ⅱ) - Et erunt interfecti Domini in die illa,/ a summo terræ usque ad summum ejus :/ non plangentur, et non colligentur, neque sepelientur :/ in sterquilinium super faciem terræ jacebunt./ (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃25 והיו חללי יהוה ביום ההוא מקצה הארץ ועד קצה הארץ לא יספדו ולא יאספו ולא יקברו לדמן על פני האדמה יהיו (Ⅴ)

Howl, ye shepherds, and cry; and wallow yourselves in the ashes, ye principal of the flock: for the days of your slaughter and of your dispersions are accomplished; and ye shall fall like a pleasant vessel.
- Gémissez, pasteurs, et criez! Roulez-vous dans la cendre, conducteurs de troupeaux! Car les jours sont venus où vous allez être égorgés. Je vous briserai, et vous tomberez comme un vase de prix. (Ⅱ) - Ululate, pastores, et clamate,/ et aspergite vos cinere, optimates gregis :/ quia completi sunt dies vestri ut interficiamini,/ et dissipationes vestræ :/ et cadetis quasi vasa pretiosa./ (Ⅳ) - 34 ׃25 הילילו הרעים וזעקו והתפלשו אדירי הצאן כי מלאו ימיכם לטבוח ותפוצותיכם ונפלתם ככלי חמדה (Ⅴ)

And the shepherds shall have no way to flee, nor the principal of the flock to escape.

A voice of the cry of the shepherds, and an howling of the principal of the flock, shall be heard: for the LORD hath spoiled their pasture.
- On entend les cris des pasteurs, Les gémissements des conducteurs de troupeaux; Car l'Éternel ravage leur pâturage. (Ⅱ) - Vox clamoris pastorum, et ululatus optimatum gregis,/ quia vastavit Dominus pascua eorum :/ (Ⅳ) - 36 ׃25 קול צעקת הרעים ויללת אדירי הצאן כי שדד יהוה את מרעיתם (Ⅴ)

And the peaceable habitations are cut down because of the fierce anger of the LORD.
- Les habitations paisibles sont détruites Par la colère ardente de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - et conticuerunt arva pacis a facie iræ furoris Domini./ (Ⅳ) - 37 ׃25 ונדמו נאות השלום מפני חרון אף יהוה (Ⅴ)

He hath forsaken his covert, as the lion: for their land is desolate because of the fierceness of the oppressor, and because of his fierce anger.
- Il a abandonné sa demeure comme un lionceau sa tanière; Car leur pays est réduit en désert Par la fureur du destructeur Et par son ardente colère. (Ⅱ) - Dereliquit quasi leo umbraculum suum,/ quia facta est terra eorum in desolationem/ a facie iræ columbæ,/ et a facie iræ furoris Domini.] (Ⅳ) - 38 ׃25 עזב ככפיר סכו כי היתה ארצם לשמה מפני חרון היונה ומפני חרון אפו פ (Ⅴ)
