In the beginning of the reign of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah came this word from the LORD, saying,
- Au commencement du règne de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, cette parole fut prononcée de la part de l'Éternel, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - In principio regni Joakim filii Josiæ regis Juda, factum est verbum istud a Domino, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃26 בראשית ממלכות יהויקים בן יאשיהו מלך יהודה היה הדבר הזה מאת יהוה לאמר (Ⅴ)

Thus saith the LORD; Stand in the court of the LORD's house, and speak unto all the cities of Judah, which come to worship in the LORD's house, all the words that I command thee to speak unto them; diminish not a word:
- Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Tiens-toi dans le parvis de la maison de l'Éternel, et dis à ceux qui de toutes les villes de Juda viennent se prosterner dans la maison de l'Éternel toutes les paroles que je t'ordonne de leur dire; n'en retranche pas un mot. (Ⅱ) - Hæc dicit Dominus : Sta in atrio domus Domini, et loqueris ad omnes civitates Juda, de quibus veniunt ut adorent in domo Domini universos sermones quos ego mandavi tibi ut loquaris ad eos : noli subtrahere verbum, (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃26 כה אמר יהוה עמד בחצר בית יהוה ודברת על כל ערי יהודה הבאים להשתחות בית יהוה את כל הדברים אשר צויתיך לדבר אליהם אל תגרע דבר (Ⅴ)

If so be they will hearken, and turn every man from his evil way, that I may repent me of the evil, which I purpose to do unto them because of the evil of their doings.
- Peut-être écouteront-ils, et reviendront-ils chacun de leur mauvaise voie; alors je me repentirai du mal que j'avais pensé leur faire à cause de la méchanceté de leurs actions. (Ⅱ) - si forte audiant, et convertantur unusquisque a via sua mala, et pœniteat me mali quod cogito facere eis propter malitiam studiorum eorum. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃26 אולי ישמעו וישבו איש מדרכו הרעה ונחמתי אל הרעה אשר אנכי חשב לעשות להם מפני רע מעלליהם (Ⅴ)

And thou shalt say unto them, Thus saith the LORD; If ye will not hearken to me, to walk in my law, which I have set before you,
- Tu leur diras: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Si vous ne m'écoutez pas quand je vous ordonne de suivre ma loi que j'ai mise devant vous, (Ⅱ) - Et dices ad eos : Hæc dicit Dominus : Si non audieritis me, ut ambuletis in lege mea quam dedi vobis, (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃26 ואמרת אליהם כה אמר יהוה אם לא תשמעו אלי ללכת בתורתי אשר נתתי לפניכם (Ⅴ)

To hearken to the words of my servants the prophets, whom I sent unto you, both rising up early, and sending them, but ye have not hearkened;
- d'écouter les paroles de mes serviteurs, les prophètes, que je vous envoie, que je vous ai envoyés dès le matin, et que vous n'avez pas écoutés, (Ⅱ) - ut audiatis sermones servorum meorum prophetarum quos ego misi ad vos, de nocte consurgens, et dirigens, et non audistis : (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃26 לשמע על דברי עבדי הנבאים אשר אנכי שלח אליכם והשכם ושלח ולא שמעתם (Ⅴ)

Then will I make this house like Shiloh, and will make this city a curse to all the nations of the earth.
- alors je traiterai cette maison comme Silo, et je ferai de cette ville un objet de malédiction pour toutes les nations de la terre. (Ⅱ) - dabo domum istam sicut Silo, et urbem hanc dabo in maledictionem cunctis gentibus terræ. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃26 ונתתי את הבית הזה כשלה ואת העיר *הזאתה **הזאת אתן לקללה לכל גויי הארץ ס (Ⅴ)

So the priests and the prophets and all the people heard Jeremiah speaking these words in the house of the LORD.
- Les sacrificateurs, les prophètes, et tout le peuple, entendirent Jérémie prononcer ces paroles dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Et audierunt sacerdotes, et prophetæ, et omnis populus, Jeremiam loquentem verba hæc in domo Domini. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃26 וישמעו הכהנים והנבאים וכל העם את ירמיהו מדבר את הדברים האלה בבית יהוה (Ⅴ)

Now it came to pass, when Jeremiah had made an end of speaking all that the LORD had commanded him to speak unto all the people, that the priests and the prophets and all the people took him, saying, Thou shalt surely die.
- Et comme Jérémie achevait de dire tout ce que l'Éternel lui avait ordonné de dire à tout le peuple, les sacrificateurs, les prophètes, et tout le peuple, se saisirent de lui, en disant: Tu mourras! (Ⅱ) - Cumque complesset Jeremias, loquens omnia quæ præceperat ei Dominus ut loqueretur ad universum populum, apprehenderunt eum sacerdotes, et prophetæ, et omnis populus, dicens : Morte moriatur. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃26 ויהי ככלות ירמיהו לדבר את כל אשר צוה יהוה לדבר אל כל העם ויתפשו אתו הכהנים והנבאים וכל העם לאמר מות תמות (Ⅴ)

Why hast thou prophesied in the name of the LORD, saying, This house shall be like Shiloh, and this city shall be desolate without an inhabitant? And all the people were gathered against Jeremiah in the house of the LORD.
- Pourquoi prophétises-tu au nom de l'Éternel, en disant: Cette maison sera comme Silo, et cette ville sera dévastée, privée d'habitants? Tout le peuple s'attroupa autour de Jérémie dans la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Quare prophetavit in nomine Domini, dicens : Sicut Silo erit domus hæc, et urbs ista desolabitur eo quod non sit habitator ? Et congregatus est omnis populus adversus Jeremiam in domo Domini. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃26 מדוע נבית בשם יהוה לאמר כשלו יהיה הבית הזה והעיר הזאת תחרב מאין יושב ויקהל כל העם אל ירמיהו בבית יהוה (Ⅴ)

When the princes of Judah heard these things, then they came up from the king's house unto the house of the LORD, and sat down in the entry of the new gate of the LORD's house.
- Lorsque les chefs de Juda eurent appris ces choses, ils montèrent de la maison du roi à la maison de l'Éternel, et s'assirent à l'entrée de la porte neuve de la maison de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - Et audierunt principes Juda verba hæc, et ascenderunt de domo regis in domum Domini, et sederunt in introitu portæ domus Domini novæ. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃26 וישמעו שרי יהודה את הדברים האלה ויעלו מבית המלך בית יהוה וישבו בפתח שער יהוה החדש ס (Ⅴ)

Then spake the priests and the prophets unto the princes and to all the people, saying, This man is worthy to die; for he hath prophesied against this city, as ye have heard with your ears.
- Alors les sacrificateurs et les prophètes parlèrent ainsi aux chefs et à tout le peuple: Cet homme mérite la mort; car il a prophétisé contre cette ville, comme vous l'avez entendu de vos oreilles. (Ⅱ) - Et locuti sunt sacerdotes et prophetæ ad principes, et ad omnem populum, dicentes : Judicium mortis est viro huic, quia prophetavit adversus civitatem istam, sicut audistis auribus vestris. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃26 ויאמרו הכהנים והנבאים אל השרים ואל כל העם לאמר משפט מות לאיש הזה כי נבא אל העיר הזאת כאשר שמעתם באזניכם (Ⅴ)

Then spake Jeremiah unto all the princes and to all the people, saying, The LORD sent me to prophesy against this house and against this city all the words that ye have heard.
- Jérémie dit à tous les chefs et à tout le peuple: L'Éternel m'a envoyé pour prophétiser contre cette maison et contre cette ville, toutes les choses que vous avez entendues. (Ⅱ) - Et ait Jeremias ad omnes principes, et ad universum populum, dicens : Dominus misit me ut prophetarem ad domum istam, et ad civitatem hanc, omnia verba quæ audistis. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃26 ויאמר ירמיהו אל כל השרים ואל כל העם לאמר יהוה שלחני להנבא אל הבית הזה ואל העיר הזאת את כל הדברים אשר שמעתם (Ⅴ)

Therefore now amend your ways and your doings, and obey the voice of the LORD your God; and the LORD will repent him of the evil that he hath pronounced against you.
- Maintenant réformez vos voies et vos oeuvres, écoutez la voix de l'Éternel, votre Dieu, et l'Éternel se repentira du mal qu'il a prononcé contre vous. (Ⅱ) - Nunc ergo bonas facite vias vestras et studia vestra, et audite vocem Domini Dei vestri, et pœnitebit Dominum mali quod locutus est adversum vos. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃26 ועתה היטיבו דרכיכם ומעלליכם ושמעו בקול יהוה אלהיכם וינחם יהוה אל הרעה אשר דבר עליכם (Ⅴ)

As for me, behold, I am in your hand: do with me as seemeth good and meet unto you.
- Pour moi, me voici entre vos mains; traitez-moi comme il vous semblera bon et juste. (Ⅱ) - Ego autem ecce in manibus vestris sum : facite mihi quod bonum et rectum est in oculis vestris. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃26 ואני הנני בידכם עשו לי כטוב וכישר בעיניכם (Ⅴ)

But know ye for certain, that if ye put me to death, ye shall surely bring innocent blood upon yourselves, and upon this city, and upon the inhabitants thereof: for of a truth the LORD hath sent me unto you to speak all these words in your ears.
- Seulement sachez que, si vous me faites mourir, vous vous chargez du sang innocent, vous, cette ville et ses habitants; car l'Éternel m'a véritablement envoyé vers vous pour prononcer à vos oreilles toutes ces paroles. (Ⅱ) - Verumtamen scitote et cognoscite quod, si occideritis me, sanguinem innocentem tradetis contra vosmetipsos, et contra civitatem istam, et habitatores ejus : in veritate enim misit me Dominus ad vos, ut loquerer in auribus vestris omnia verba hæc. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃26 אך ידע תדעו כי אם ממתים אתם אתי כי דם נקי אתם נתנים עליכם ואל העיר הזאת ואל ישביה כי באמת שלחני יהוה עליכם לדבר באזניכם את כל הדברים האלה ס (Ⅴ)

Then said the princes and all the people unto the priests and to the prophets; This man is not worthy to die: for he hath spoken to us in the name of the LORD our God.
- Les chefs et tout le peuple dirent aux sacrificateurs et aux prophètes: Cet homme ne mérite point la mort; car c'est au nom de l'Éternel, notre Dieu, qu'il nous a parlé. (Ⅱ) - Et dixerunt principes et omnis populus ad sacerdotes et ad prophetas : Non est viro huic judicium mortis, quia in nomine Domini Dei nostri locutus est ad nos. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃26 ויאמרו השרים וכל העם אל הכהנים ואל הנביאים אין לאיש הזה משפט מות כי בשם יהוה אלהינו דבר אלינו (Ⅴ)

Then rose up certain of the elders of the land, and spake to all the assembly of the people, saying,
- Et quelques-uns des anciens du pays se levèrent, et dirent à toute l'assemblée du peuple: (Ⅱ) - Surrexerunt ergo viri de senioribus terræ, et dixerunt ad omnem cœtum populi, loquentes : (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃26 ויקמו אנשים מזקני הארץ ויאמרו אל כל קהל העם לאמר (Ⅴ)

Micah the Morasthite prophesied in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and spake to all the people of Judah, saying, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Zion shall be plowed like a field, and Jerusalem shall become heaps, and the mountain of the house as the high places of a forest.
- Michée, de Moréscheth, prophétisait du temps d'Ézéchias, roi de Juda, et il disait à tout le peuple de Juda: Ainsi parle l'Éternel des armées: Sion sera labourée comme un champ, Jérusalem deviendra un monceau de pierres, Et la montagne de la maison une haute forêt. (Ⅱ) - Michæas de Morasthi fuit propheta in diebus Ezechiæ regis Juda, et ait ad omnem populum Juda, dicens : [Hæc dicit Dominus exercituum :/ Sion quasi ager arabitur,/ et Jerusalem in acervum lapidum erit,/ et mons domus in excelsa silvarum.] (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃26 *מיכיה **מיכה המורשתי היה נבא בימי חזקיהו מלך יהודה ויאמר אל כל עם יהודה לאמר כה אמר יהוה צבאות ציון שדה תחרש וירושלים עיים תהיה והר הבית לבמות יער (Ⅴ)

Did Hezekiah king of Judah and all Judah put him at all to death? did he not fear the LORD, and besought the LORD, and the LORD repented him of the evil which he had pronounced against them? Thus might we procure great evil against our souls.
- Ézéchias, roi de Juda, et tout Juda l'ont-ils fait mourir? Ézéchias ne craignit-il pas l'Éternel? N'implora-t-il pas l'Éternel? Alors l'Éternel se repentit du mal qu'il avait prononcé contre eux. Et nous, nous chargerions notre âme d'un si grand crime! (Ⅱ) - Numquid morte condemnavit eum Ezechias rex Juda, et omnis Juda ? numquid non timuerunt Dominum, et deprecati sunt faciem Domini, et pœnituit Dominum mali quod locutus fuerat adversum eos ? Itaque nos facimus malum grande contra animas nostras. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃26 ההמת המתהו חזקיהו מלך יהודה וכל יהודה הלא ירא את יהוה ויחל את פני יהוה וינחם יהוה אל הרעה אשר דבר עליהם ואנחנו עשים רעה גדולה על נפשותינו (Ⅴ)

And there was also a man that prophesied in the name of the LORD, Urijah the son of Shemaiah of Kirjathjearim, who prophesied against this city and against this land according to all the words of Jeremiah.
- Il y eut aussi un homme qui prophétisait au nom de l'Éternel, Urie, fils de Schemaeja, de Kirjath Jearim. Il prophétisa contre cette ville et contre ce pays entièrement les mêmes choses que Jérémie. (Ⅱ) - Fuit quoque vir prophetans in nomine Domini, Urias filius Semei de Cariathiarim, et prophetavit adversus civitatem istam, et adversus terram hanc, juxta omnia verba Jeremiæ. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃26 וגם איש היה מתנבא בשם יהוה אוריהו בן שמעיהו מקרית היערים וינבא על העיר הזאת ועל הארץ הזאת ככל דברי ירמיהו (Ⅴ)

And when Jehoiakim the king, with all his mighty men, and all the princes, heard his words, the king sought to put him to death: but when Urijah heard it, he was afraid, and fled, and went into Egypt;
- Le roi Jojakim, tous ses vaillants hommes, et tous ses chefs, entendirent ses paroles, et le roi chercha à le faire mourir. Urie, qui en fut informé, eut peur, prit la fuite, et alla en Égypte. (Ⅱ) - Et audivit rex Joakim, et omnes potentes et principes ejus, verba hæc, et quæsivit rex interficere eum : et audivit Urias, et timuit, fugitque, et ingressus est Ægyptum. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃26 וישמע המלך יהויקים וכל גבוריו וכל השרים את דבריו ויבקש המלך המיתו וישמע אוריהו וירא ויברח ויבא מצרים (Ⅴ)

And Jehoiakim the king sent men into Egypt, namely, Elnathan the son of Achbor, and certain men with him into Egypt.
- Le roi Jojakim envoya des gens en Égypte, Elnathan, fils d'Acbor, et des gens avec lui en Égypte. (Ⅱ) - Et misit rex Joakim viros in Ægyptum, Elnathan filium Achobor, et viros cum eo, in Ægyptum, (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃26 וישלח המלך יהויקים אנשים מצרים את אלנתן בן עכבור ואנשים אתו אל מצרים (Ⅴ)

And they fetched forth Urijah out of Egypt, and brought him unto Jehoiakim the king; who slew him with the sword, and cast his dead body into the graves of the common people.
- Ils firent sortir d'Égypte Urie et l'amenèrent au roi Jojakim, qui le fit mourir par l'épée et jeta son cadavre sur les sépulcres des enfants du peuple. (Ⅱ) - et eduxerunt Uriam de Ægypto, et adduxerunt eum ad regem Joakim, et percussit eum gladio, et projecit cadaver ejus in sepulchris vulgi ignobilis. (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃26 ויוציאו את אוריהו ממצרים ויבאהו אל המלך יהויקים ויכהו בחרב וישלך את נבלתו אל קברי בני העם (Ⅴ)

Nevertheless the hand of Ahikam the son of Shaphan was with Jeremiah, that they should not give him into the hand of the people to put him to death.
- Cependant la main d'Achikam, fils de Schaphan, fut avec Jérémie, et empêcha qu'il ne fût livré au peuple pour être mis à mort. (Ⅱ) - Igitur manus Ahicam filii Saphan fuit cum Jeremia, ut non traderetur in manus populi, et interficerent eum. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃26 אך יד אחיקם בן שפן היתה את ירמיהו לבלתי תת אתו ביד העם להמיתו פ (Ⅴ)
