1 ׃3 ויהורם בן אחאב מלך על ישראל בשמרון בשנת שמנה עשרה ליהושפט מלך יהודה וימלך שתים עשרה שנה
- Joram, fils d'Achab, régna sur Israël à Samarie, la dix-huitième année de Josaphat, roi de Juda. Il régna douze ans. (Ⅱ) - Now Jehoram the son of Ahab began to reign over Israel in Samaria the eighteenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned twelve years. (Ⅲ) - καὶ Ιωραμ υἱὸς Αχααβ ἐβασίλευσεν ἐν Ισραηλ ἐν ἔτει ὀκτωκαιδεκάτω̨ Ιωσαφατ βασιλει̃ Ιουδα καὶ ἐβασίλευσεν δώδεκα ἔτη (Ⅳ) - Joram vero filius Achab regnavit super Israël in Samaria anno decimooctavo Josaphat regis Judæ : regnavitque duodecim annis. (Ⅴ)

2 ׃3 ויעשה הרע בעיני יהוה רק לא כאביו וכאמו ויסר את מצבת הבעל אשר עשה אביו
- Il fit ce qui est mal aux yeux de l'Éternel, non pas toutefois comme son père et sa mère. Il renversa les statues de Baal que son père avait faites; (Ⅱ) - And he wrought evil in the sight of the LORD; but not like his father, and like his mother: for he put away the image of Baal that his father had made. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐποίησεν τὸ πονηρὸν ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς κυρίου πλὴν οὐχ ὡς ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐχ ὡς ἡ μήτηρ αὐτου̃ καὶ μετέστησεν τὰς στήλας του̃ Βααλ ἃς ἐποίησεν ὁ πατὴρ αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Et fecit malum coram Domino, sed non sicut pater suus et mater : tulit enim statuas Baal quas fecerat pater ejus. (Ⅴ)

3 ׃3 רק בחטאות ירבעם בן נבט אשר החטיא את ישראל דבק לא סר ממנה ס
- mais il se livra aux péchés de Jéroboam, fils de Nebath, qui avait fait pécher Israël, et il ne s'en détourna point. (Ⅱ) - Nevertheless he cleaved unto the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom. (Ⅲ) - πλὴν ἐν τη̨̃ ἁμαρτία̨ Ιεροβοαμ υἱου̃ Ναβατ ὃς ἐξήμαρτεν τὸν Ισραηλ ἐκολλήθη οὐκ ἀπέστη ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Verumtamen in peccatis Jeroboam filii Nabat, qui peccare fecit Israël, adhæsit, nec recessit ab eis. (Ⅴ)

4 ׃3 ומישע מלך מואב היה נקד והשיב למלך ישראל מאה אלף כרים ומאה אלף אילים צמר
- Méscha, roi de Moab, possédait des troupeaux, et il payait au roi d'Israël un tribut de cent mille agneaux et de cent mille béliers avec leur laine. (Ⅱ) - And Mesha king of Moab was a sheepmaster, and rendered unto the king of Israel an hundred thousand lambs, and an hundred thousand rams, with the wool. (Ⅲ) - καὶ Μωσα βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἠ̃ν νωκηδ καὶ ἐπέστρεφεν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Ισραηλ ἐν τη̨̃ ἐπαναστάσει ἑκατὸν χιλιάδας ἀρνω̃ν καὶ ἑκατὸν χιλιάδας κριω̃ν ἐπὶ πόκων (Ⅳ) - Porro Mesa rex Moab nutriebat pecora multa, et solvebat regi Israël centum millia agnorum, et centum millia arietum cum velleribus suis. (Ⅴ)

5 ׃3 ויהי כמות אחאב ויפשע מלך מואב במלך ישראל
- A la mort d'Achab, le roi de Moab se révolta contre le roi d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - But it came to pass, when Ahab was dead, that the king of Moab rebelled against the king of Israel. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ τὸ ἀποθανει̃ν Αχααβ καὶ ἠθέτησεν βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἐν βασιλει̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - Cumque mortuus fuisset Achab, prævaricatus est fœdus quod habebat cum rege Israël. (Ⅴ)

6 ׃3 ויצא המלך יהורם ביום ההוא משמרון ויפקד את כל ישראל
- Le roi Joram sortit alors de Samarie, et passa en revue tout Israël. (Ⅱ) - And king Jehoram went out of Samaria the same time, and numbered all Israel. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιωραμ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἐκ Σαμαρείας καὶ ἐπεσκέψατο τὸν Ισραηλ (Ⅳ) - Egressus est igitur rex Joram in die illa de Samaria, et recensuit universum Israël. (Ⅴ)

7 ׃3 וילך וישלח אל יהושפט מלך יהודה לאמר מלך מואב פשע בי התלך אתי אל מואב למלחמה ויאמר אעלה כמוני כמוך כעמי כעמך כסוסי כסוסיך
- Il se mit en marche, et il fit dire à Josaphat, roi de Juda: Le roi de Moab s'est révolté contre moi; veux-tu venir avec moi attaquer Moab? Josaphat répondit: J'irai, moi comme toi, mon peuple comme ton peuple, mes chevaux comme tes chevaux. (Ⅱ) - And he went and sent to Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, saying, The king of Moab hath rebelled against me: wilt thou go with me against Moab to battle? And he said, I will go up: I am as thou art, my people as thy people, and my horses as thy horses. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν πρὸς Ιωσαφατ βασιλέα Ιουδα λέγων βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ἠθέτησεν ἐν ἐμοί εἰ πορεύση̨ μετ' ἐμου̃ εἰς Μωαβ εἰς πόλεμον καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἀναβήσομαι ὅμοιός μοι ὅμοιός σοι ὡς ὁ λαός μου ὁ λαός σου ὡς οἱ ἵπποι μου οἱ ἵπποι σου (Ⅳ) - Misitque ad Josaphat regem Juda, dicens : Rex Moab recessit a me : veni mecum contra eum ad prælium. Qui respondit : Ascendam : qui meus est, tuus est : populus meus, populus tuus, et equi mei, equi tui. (Ⅴ)

8 ׃3 ויאמר אי זה הדרך נעלה ויאמר דרך מדבר אדום
- Et il dit: Par quel chemin monterons-nous? Joram dit: Par le chemin du désert d'Édom. (Ⅱ) - And he said, Which way shall we go up? And he answered, The way through the wilderness of Edom. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ποία̨ ὁδω̨̃ ἀναβω̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁδὸν ἔρημον Εδωμ (Ⅳ) - Dixitque : Per quam viam ascendemus ? At ille respondit : Per desertum Idumææ. (Ⅴ)

9 ׃3 וילך מלך ישראל ומלך יהודה[1] ומלך אדום ויסבו דרך שבעת ימים ולא היה מים למחנה ולבהמה אשר ברגליהם
- Le roi d'Israël, le roi de Juda et le roi d'Édom, partirent; et après une marche de sept jours, ils manquèrent d'eau pour l'armée et pour les bêtes qui la suivaient. (Ⅱ) - So the king of Israel went, and the king of Judah, and the king of Edom: and they fetched a compass of seven days' journey: and there was no water for the host, and for the cattle that followed them. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα καὶ ὁ βασιλεὺς Εδωμ καὶ ἐκύκλωσαν ὁδὸν ἑπτὰ ἡμερω̃ν καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ὕδωρ τη̨̃ παρεμβολη̨̃ καὶ τοι̃ς κτήνεσιν τοι̃ς ἐν τοι̃ς ποσὶν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Perrexerunt igitur rex Israël, et rex Juda, et rex Edom, et circuierunt per viam septem dierum, nec erat aqua exercitui et jumentis quæ sequebantur eos. (Ⅴ)

10 ׃3 ויאמר מלך ישראל אהה כי קרא יהוה לשלשת[c] המלכים האלה לתת אותם ביד מואב
- Alors le roi d'Israël dit: Hélas! l'Éternel a appelé ces trois rois pour les livrer entre les mains de Moab. (Ⅱ) - And the king of Israel said, Alas! that the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab! (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ὠ̃ ὅτι κέκληκεν κύριος τοὺς τρει̃ς βασιλει̃ς παρερχομένους δου̃ναι αὐτοὺς ἐν χειρὶ Μωαβ (Ⅳ) - Dixitque rex Israël : Heu ! heu ! heu ! congregavit nos Dominus tres reges ut traderet in manus Moab. (Ⅴ)

11 ׃3 ויאמר יהושפט האין פה נביא ליהוה ונדרשה את יהוה מאותו ויען אחד מעבדי מלך ישראל ויאמר פה אלישע בן שפט אשר יצק מים על ידי אליהו
- Mais Josaphat dit: N'y a-t-il ici aucun prophète de l'Éternel, par qui nous puissions consulter l'Éternel? L'un des serviteurs du roi d'Israël répondit: Il y a ici Élisée, fils de Schaphath, qui versait l'eau sur les mains d'Élie. (Ⅱ) - But Jehoshaphat said, Is there not here a prophet of the LORD, that we may enquire of the LORD by him? And one of the king of Israel's servants answered and said, Here is Elisha the son of Shaphat, which poured water on the hands of Elijah. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσαφατ οὐκ ἔστιν ὡ̃δε προφήτης του̃ κυρίου καὶ ἐπιζητήσωμεν τὸν κύριον παρ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπεκρίθη εἱ̃ς τω̃ν παίδων βασιλέως Ισραηλ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὡ̃δε Ελισαιε υἱὸς Σαφατ ὃς ἐπέχεεν ὕδωρ ἐπὶ χει̃ρας Ηλιου (Ⅳ) - Et ait Josaphat : Estne hic propheta Domini, ut deprecemur Dominum per eum ? Et respondit unus de servis regis Israël : Est hic Eliseus filius Saphat, qui fundebat aquam super manus Eliæ. (Ⅴ)

12 ׃3 ויאמר יהושפט יש אותו דבר יהוה וירדו אליו מלך ישראל ויהושפט ומלך אדום
- Et Josaphat dit: La parole de l'Éternel est avec lui. Le roi d'Israël, Josaphat et le roi d'Édom, descendirent auprès de lui. (Ⅱ) - And Jehoshaphat said, The word of the LORD is with him. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat and the king of Edom went down to him. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ιωσαφατ ἔστιν αὐτω̨̃ ῥη̃μα κυρίου καὶ κατέβη πρὸς αὐτὸν βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ καὶ Ιωσαφατ βασιλεὺς Ιουδα καὶ βασιλεὺς Εδωμ (Ⅳ) - Et ait Josaphat : Est apud eum sermo Domini. Descenditque ad eum rex Israël, et Josaphat rex Juda, et rex Edom.\ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃3 ויאמר אלישע אל מלך ישראל מה לי ולך לך אל נביאי אביך ואל נביאי אמך ויאמר לו מלך ישראל אל כי קרא יהוה לשלשת המלכים האלה לתת אותם ביד מואב
- Élisée dit au roi d'Israël: Qu'y a-t-il entre moi et toi? Va vers les prophètes de ton père et vers les prophètes de ta mère. Et le roi d'Israël lui dit: Non! car l'Éternel a appelé ces trois rois pour les livrer entre les mains de Moab. (Ⅱ) - And Elisha said unto the king of Israel, What have I to do with thee? get thee to the prophets of thy father, and to the prophets of thy mother. And the king of Israel said unto him, Nay: for the LORD hath called these three kings together, to deliver them into the hand of Moab. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε πρὸς βασιλέα Ισραηλ τί ἐμοὶ καὶ σοί δευ̃ρο πρὸς τοὺς προφήτας του̃ πατρός σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ μή ὅτι κέκληκεν κύριος τοὺς τρει̃ς βασιλει̃ς του̃ παραδου̃ναι αὐτοὺς εἰς χει̃ρας Μωαβ (Ⅳ) - Dixit autem Eliseus ad regem Israël : Quid mihi et tibi est ? vade ad prophetas patris tui et matris tuæ. Et ait illi rex Israël : Quare congregavit Dominus tres reges hos ut traderet eos in manus Moab ? (Ⅴ)

14 ׃3 ויאמר אלישע חי יהוה צבאות אשר עמדתי לפניו כי לולי פני יהושפט מלך יהודה אני נשא אם אביט אליך ואם אראך
- Élisée dit: L'Éternel des armées, dont je suis le serviteur, est vivant! si je n'avais égard à Josaphat, roi de Juda, je ne ferais aucune attention à toi et je ne te regarderais pas. (Ⅱ) - And Elisha said, As the LORD of hosts liveth, before whom I stand, surely, were it not that I regard the presence of Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, I would not look toward thee, nor see thee. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε ζη̨̃ κύριος τω̃ν δυνάμεων ὡ̨̃ παρέστην ἐνώπιον αὐτου̃ ὅτι εἰ μὴ πρόσωπον Ιωσαφατ βασιλέως Ιουδα ἐγὼ λαμβάνω εἰ ἐπέβλεψα πρὸς σὲ καὶ εἰ̃δόν σε (Ⅳ) - Dixitque ad eum Eliseus : Vivit Dominus exercituum, in cujus conspectu sto, quod si non vultum Josaphat regis Judæ erubescerem, non attendissem quidem te, nec respexissem. (Ⅴ)

15 ׃3 ועתה קחו לי מנגן והיה כנגן המנגן ותהי עליו יד יהוה
- Maintenant, amenez-moi un joueur de harpe. Et comme le joueur de harpe jouait, la main de l'Éternel fut sur Élisée. (Ⅱ) - But now bring me a minstrel. And it came to pass, when the minstrel played, that the hand of the LORD came upon him. (Ⅲ) - καὶ νυνὶ δὲ λαβέ μοι ψάλλοντα καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἔψαλλεν ὁ ψάλλων καὶ ἐγένετο ἐπ' αὐτὸν χεὶρ κυρίου (Ⅳ) - Nunc autem adducite mihi psaltem. Cumque caneret psaltes, facta est super eum manus Domini, et ait : (Ⅴ)

16 ׃3 ויאמר כה אמר יהוה עשה הנחל הזה גבים גבים
- Et il dit: Ainsi parle l'Éternel: Faites dans cette vallée des fosses, des fosses! (Ⅱ) - And he said, Thus saith the LORD, Make this valley full of ditches. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν τάδε λέγει κύριος ποιήσατε τὸν χειμάρρουν του̃τον βοθύνους βοθύνους (Ⅳ) - Hæc dicit Dominus : Facite alveum torrentis hujus fossas et fossas. (Ⅴ)

17 ׃3 כי כה אמר יהוה לא תראו רוח ולא תראו גשם והנחל ההוא ימלא מים ושתיתם אתם ומקניכם ובהמתכם
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel: Vous n'apercevrez point de vent et vous ne verrez point de pluie, et cette vallée se remplira d'eau, et vous boirez, vous, vos troupeaux et votre bétail. (Ⅱ) - For thus saith the LORD, Ye shall not see wind, neither shall ye see rain; yet that valley shall be filled with water, that ye may drink, both ye, and your cattle, and your beasts. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος οὐκ ὄψεσθε πνευ̃μα καὶ οὐκ ὄψεσθε ὑετόν καὶ ὁ χειμάρρους οὑ̃τος πλησθήσεται ὕδατος καὶ πίεσθε ὑμει̃ς καὶ αἱ κτήσεις ὑμω̃ν καὶ τὰ κτήνη ὑμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Hæc enim dicit Dominus : Non videbitis ventum, neque pluviam : et alveus iste replebitur aquis, et bibetis vos, et familiæ vestræ, et jumenta vestra. (Ⅴ)

18 ׃3 ונקל זאת בעיני יהוה ונתן את מואב בידכם
- Mais cela est peu de chose aux yeux de l'Éternel. Il livrera Moab entre vos mains; (Ⅱ) - And this is but a light thing in the sight of the LORD: he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand. (Ⅲ) - καὶ κούφη αὕτη ἐν ὀφθαλμοι̃ς κυρίου καὶ παραδώσω τὴν Μωαβ ἐν χειρὶ ὑμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Parumque est hoc in conspectu Domini : insuper tradet etiam Moab in manus vestras. (Ⅴ)

19 ׃3 והכיתם כל עיר מבצר וכל עיר מבחור וכל עץ טוב תפילו וכל מעיני מים תסתמו וכל החלקה הטובה תכאבו באבנים
- vous frapperez toutes les villes fortes et toutes les villes d'élite, vous abattrez tous les bons arbres, vous boucherez toutes les sources d'eau, et vous ruinerez avec des pierres tous les meilleurs champs. (Ⅱ) - And ye shall smite every fenced city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all wells of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones. (Ⅲ) - καὶ πατάξετε πα̃σαν πόλιν ὀχυρὰν καὶ πα̃ν ξύλον ἀγαθὸν καταβαλει̃τε καὶ πάσας πηγὰς ὕδατος ἐμφράξετε καὶ πα̃σαν μερίδα ἀγαθὴν ἀχρειώσετε ἐν λίθοις (Ⅳ) - Et percutietis omnem civitatem munitam, et omnem urbem electam, et universum lignum fructiferum succidetis, cunctosque fontes aquarum obturabitis, et omnem agrum egregium operietis lapidibus. (Ⅴ)

20 ׃3 ויהי בבקר כעלות המנחה והנה מים באים מדרך אדום ותמלא הארץ את המים
- Or le matin, au moment de la présentation de l'offrande, voici, l'eau arriva du chemin d'Édom, et le pays fut rempli d'eau. (Ⅱ) - And it came to pass in the morning, when the meat offering was offered, that, behold, there came water by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐγένετο τὸ πρωὶ ἀναβαινούσης τη̃ς θυσίας καὶ ἰδοὺ ὕδατα ἤρχοντο ἐξ ὁδου̃ Εδωμ καὶ ἐπλήσθη ἡ γη̃ ὕδατος (Ⅳ) - Factum est igitur mane, quando sacrificium offerri solet, et ecce aquæ veniebant per viam Edom, et repleta est terra aquis. (Ⅴ)

21 ׃3 וכל מואב שמעו כי עלו המלכים להלחם בם ויצעקו מכל חגר חגרה ומעלה ויעמדו על הגבול
- Cependant, tous les Moabites ayant appris que les rois montaient pour les attaquer, on convoqua tous ceux en âge de porter les armes et même au-dessus, et ils se tinrent sur la frontière. (Ⅱ) - And when all the Moabites heard that the kings were come up to fight against them, they gathered all that were able to put on armor, and upward, and stood in the border. (Ⅲ) - καὶ πα̃σα Μωαβ ἤκουσαν ὅτι ἀνέβησαν οἱ βασιλει̃ς πολεμει̃ν αὐτούς καὶ ἀνεβόησαν ἐκ παντὸς περιεζωσμένου ζώνην καὶ ἐπάνω καὶ ἔστησαν ἐπὶ του̃ ὁρίου (Ⅳ) - Universi autem Moabitæ audientes quod ascendissent reges ut pugnarent adversum eos, convocaverunt omnes qui accincti erant balteo desuper, et steterunt in terminis. (Ⅴ)

22 ׃3 וישכימו בבקר והשמש זרחה על המים ויראו מואב מנגד את המים אדמים כדם
- Ils se levèrent de bon matin, et quand le soleil brilla sur les eaux, les Moabites virent en face d'eux les eaux rouges comme du sang. (Ⅱ) - And they rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone upon the water, and the Moabites saw the water on the other side as red as blood: (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὤρθρισαν τὸ πρωί καὶ ὁ ἥλιος ἀνέτειλεν ἐπὶ τὰ ὕδατα καὶ εἰ̃δεν Μωαβ ἐξ ἐναντίας τὰ ὕδατα πυρρὰ ὡσεὶ αἱ̃μα (Ⅳ) - Primoque mane surgentes, et orto jam sole ex adverso aquarum, viderunt Moabitæ e contra aquas rubras quasi sanguinem, (Ⅴ)

23 ׃3 ויאמרו דם זה החרב נחרבו המלכים ויכו איש את רעהו ועתה לשלל מואב
- Ils dirent: C'est du sang! les rois ont tiré l'épée entre eux, ils se sont frappés les uns les autres; maintenant, Moabites, au pillage! (Ⅱ) - And they said, This is blood: the kings are surely slain, and they have smitten one another: now therefore, Moab, to the spoil. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃παν αἱ̃μα του̃το τη̃ς ῥομφαίας ἐμαχέσαντο οἱ βασιλει̃ς καὶ ἐπάταξαν ἀνὴρ τὸν πλησίον αὐτου̃ καὶ νυ̃ν ἐπὶ τὰ σκυ̃λα Μωαβ (Ⅳ) - dixeruntque : Sanguis gladii est : pugnaverunt reges contra se, et cæsi sunt mutuo : nunc perge ad prædam, Moab. (Ⅴ)

24 ׃3 ויבאו אל מחנה ישראל ויקמו ישראל ויכו את מואב וינסו מפניהם *ויבו **ויכו בה והכות את מואב
- Et ils marchèrent contre le camp d'Israël. Mais Israël se leva, et frappa Moab, qui prit la fuite devant eux. Ils pénétrèrent dans le pays, et frappèrent Moab. (Ⅱ) - And when they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and smote the Moabites, so that they fled before them: but they went forward smiting the Moabites, even in their country. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰς τὴν παρεμβολὴν Ισραηλ καὶ Ισραηλ ἀνέστησαν καὶ ἐπάταξαν τὴν Μωαβ καὶ ἔφυγον ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν καὶ εἰση̃λθον εἰσπορευόμενοι καὶ τύπτοντες τὴν Μωαβ (Ⅳ) - Perrexeruntque in castra Israël : porro consurgens Israël, percussit Moab : at illi fugerunt coram eis. 25 ׃3 והערים יהרסו וכל חלקה טובה ישליכו איש אבנו ומלאוה וכל מעין מים יסתמו וכל עץ טוב יפילו עד השאיר אבניה בקיר חרשת ויסבו הקלעים ויכוה
- Ils renversèrent les villes, ils jetèrent chacun des pierres dans tous les meilleurs champs et les en remplirent, ils bouchèrent toutes les sources d'eau, et ils abattirent tous les bons arbres; et les frondeurs enveloppèrent et battirent Kir Haréseth, dont on ne laissa que les pierres. (Ⅱ) - And they beat down the cities, and on every good piece of land cast every man his stone, and filled it; and they stopped all the wells of water, and felled all the good trees: only in Kirharaseth left they the stones thereof; howbeit the slingers went about it, and smote it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ τὰς πόλεις καθει̃λον καὶ πα̃σαν μερίδα ἀγαθὴν ἔρριψαν ἀνὴρ τὸν λίθον καὶ ἐνέπλησαν αὐτὴν καὶ πα̃σαν πηγὴν ὕδατος ἐνέφραξαν καὶ πα̃ν ξύλον ἀγαθὸν κατέβαλον ἕως του̃ καταλιπει̃ν τοὺς λίθους του̃ τοίχου καθη̨ρημένους καὶ ἐκύκλευσαν οἱ σφενδονη̃ται καὶ ἐπάταξαν αὐτήν (Ⅳ) - et civitates destruxerunt : et omnem agrum optimum, mittentes singuli lapides, repleverunt : et universos fontes aquarum obturaverunt : et omnia ligna fructifera succiderunt, ita ut muri tantum fictiles remanerent : et circumdata est civitas a fundibulariis, et magna ex parte percussa. (Ⅴ)

26 ׃3 וירא מלך מואב כי חזק ממנו המלחמה ויקח אותו שבע מאות איש שלף חרב להבקיע אל מלך אדום ולא יכלו
- Le roi de Moab, voyant qu'il avait le dessous dans le combat, prit avec lui sept cents hommes tirant l'épée pour se frayer un passage jusqu'au roi d'Édom; mais ils ne purent pas. (Ⅱ) - And when the king of Moab saw that the battle was too sore for him, he took with him seven hundred men that drew swords, to break through even unto the king of Edom: but they could not. (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Μωαβ ὅτι ἐκραταίωσεν ὑπὲρ αὐτὸν ὁ πόλεμος καὶ ἔλαβεν μεθ' ἑαυτου̃ ἑπτακοσίους ἄνδρας ἐσπασμένους ῥομφαίαν διακόψαι πρὸς βασιλέα Εδωμ καὶ οὐκ ἠδυνήθησαν (Ⅳ) - Quod cum vidisset rex Moab, prævaluisse scilicet hostes, tulit secum septingentos viros educentes gladium, ut irrumperent ad regem Edom : et non potuerunt. (Ⅴ)

27 ׃3 ויקח את בנו הבכור אשר ימלך תחתיו ויעלהו עלה על החמה ויהי קצף גדול על ישראל ויסעו מעליו וישבו לארץ פ
- Il prit alors son fils premier-né, qui devait régner à sa place, et il l'offrit en holocauste sur la muraille. Et une grande indignation s'empara d'Israël, qui s'éloigna du roi de Moab et retourna dans son pays. (Ⅱ) - Then he took his eldest son that should have reigned in his stead, and offered him for a burnt offering upon the wall. And there was great indignation against Israel: and they departed from him, and returned to their own land. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἔλαβεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτου̃ τὸν πρωτότοκον ὃς ἐβασίλευσεν ἀντ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνήνεγκεν αὐτὸν ὁλοκαύτωμα ἐπὶ του̃ τείχους καὶ ἐγένετο μετάμελος μέγας ἐπὶ Ισραηλ καὶ ἀπη̃ραν ἀπ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐπέστρεψαν εἰς τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅳ) - Arripiensque filium suum primogenitum, qui regnaturus erat pro eo, obtulit holocaustum super murum : et facta est indignatio magna in Israël, statimque recesserunt ab eo, et reversi sunt in terram suam. (Ⅴ)
