1 ׃3 אני הגבר ראה עני בשבט עברתו
- Je suis l'homme qui a vu la misère Sous la verge de sa fureur. (Ⅱ) - I AM the man that hath seen affliction by the rod of his wrath. (Ⅲ) - ἐγὼ ἀνὴρ ὁ βλέπων πτωχείαν ἐν ῥάβδω̨ θυμου̃ αὐτου̃ ἐπ' ἐμέ (Ⅳ) - Ego vir videns paupertatem meam/ in virga indignationis ejus./ (Ⅴ)

2 ׃3 אותי נהג וילך חשך ולא אור
- Il m'a conduit, mené dans les ténèbres, Et non dans la lumière. (Ⅱ) - He hath led me, and brought me into darkness, but not into light. (Ⅲ) - παρέλαβέν με καὶ ἀπήγαγεν εἰς σκότος καὶ οὐ φω̃ς (Ⅳ) - Me minavit, et adduxit in tenebras,/ et non in lucem./ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃3 אך בי ישב יהפך ידו כל היום ס
- Contre moi il tourne et retourne sa main Tout le jour. (Ⅱ) - Surely against me is he turned; he turneth his hand against me all the day. (Ⅲ) - πλὴν ἐν ἐμοὶ ἐπέστρεψεν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν (Ⅳ) - Tantum in me vertit et convertit/ manum suam tota die./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃3 בלה בשרי ועורי שבר עצמותי
- Il a fait dépérir ma chair et ma peau, Il a brisé mes os. (Ⅱ) - My flesh and my skin hath he made old; he hath broken my bones. (Ⅲ) - ἐπαλαίωσεν σάρκας μου καὶ δέρμα μου ὀστέα μου συνέτριψεν (Ⅳ) - Vetustam fecit pellem meam et carnem meam ;/ contrivit ossa mea./ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃3 בנה עלי ויקף ראש ותלאה
- Il a bâti autour de moi, Il m'a environné de poison et de douleur. (Ⅱ) - He hath builded against me, and compassed me with gall and travail. (Ⅲ) - ἀνω̨κοδόμησεν κατ' ἐμου̃ καὶ ἐκύκλωσεν κεφαλήν μου καὶ ἐμόχθησεν (Ⅳ) - Ædificavit in gyro meo, et circumdedit me/ felle et labore./ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃3 במחשכים הושיבני כמתי עולם ס
- Il me fait habiter dans les ténèbres, Comme ceux qui sont morts dès longtemps. (Ⅱ) - He hath set me in dark places, as they that be dead of old. (Ⅲ) - ἐν σκοτεινοι̃ς ἐκάθισέν με ὡς νεκροὺς αἰω̃νος (Ⅳ) - In tenebrosis collocavit me,/ quasi mortuos sempiternos./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃3 גדר בעדי ולא אצא הכביד נחשתי
- Il m'a entouré d'un mur, pour que je ne sorte pas; Il m'a donné de pesantes chaînes. (Ⅱ) - He hath hedged me about, that I cannot get out: he hath made my chain heavy. (Ⅲ) - ἀνω̨κοδόμησεν κατ' ἐμου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύσομαι ἐβάρυνεν χαλκόν μου (Ⅳ) - Circumædificavit adversum me, ut non egrediar ;/ aggravavit compedem meum./ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃3 גם כי אזעק ואשוע שתם תפלתי
- J'ai beau crier et implorer du secours, Il ne laisse pas accès à ma prière. (Ⅱ) - Also when I cry and shout, he shutteth out my prayer. (Ⅲ) - καί γε κεκράξομαι καὶ βοήσω ἀπέφραξεν προσευχήν μου (Ⅳ) - Sed et cum clamavero, et rogavero,/ exclusit orationem meam./ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃3 גדר דרכי בגזית נתיבתי עוה ס
- Il a fermé mon chemin avec des pierres de taille, Il a détruit mes sentiers. (Ⅱ) - He hath inclosed my ways with hewn stone, he hath made my paths crooked. (Ⅲ) - ἀνω̨κοδόμησεν ὁδούς μου ἐνέφραξεν τρίβους μου ἐτάραξεν (Ⅳ) - Conclusit vias meas lapidibus quadris ;/ semitas meas subvertit./ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃3 דב ארב הוא לי *אריה **ארי במסתרים
- Il a été pour moi un ours en embuscade, Un lion dans un lieu caché. (Ⅱ) - He was unto me as a bear lying in wait, and as a lion in secret places. (Ⅲ) - ἄρκος ἐνεδρεύουσα αὐτός μοι λέων ἐν κρυφαίοις (Ⅳ) - Ursus insidians factus est mihi,/ leo in absconditis./ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃3 דרכי סורר ויפשחני שמני שמם
- Il a détourné mes voies, il m'a déchiré, Il m'a jeté dans la désolation. (Ⅱ) - He hath turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces: he hath made me desolate. (Ⅲ) - κατεδίωξεν ἀφεστηκότα καὶ κατέπαυσέν με ἔθετό με ἠφανισμένην (Ⅳ) - Semitas meas subvertit, et confregit me ;/ posuit me desolatam./ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃3 דרך קשתו[Q][n][p] ויציבני כמטרא לחץ ס
- Il a tendu son arc, et il m'a placé Comme un but pour sa flèche. (Ⅱ) - He hath bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow. (Ⅲ) - ἐνέτεινεν τόξον αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐστήλωσέν με ὡς σκοπὸν εἰς βέλος (Ⅳ) - Tetendit arcum suum, et posuit me/ quasi signum ad sagittam./ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃3 הביא בכליותי בני אשפתו
- Il a fait entrer dans mes reins Les traits de son carquois. (Ⅱ) - He hath caused the arrows of his quiver to enter into my reins. (Ⅲ) - εἰσήγαγεν τοι̃ς νεφροι̃ς μου ἰοὺς φαρέτρας αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Misit in renibus meis/ filias pharetræ suæ./ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃3 הייתי שחק[P] לכל עמי נגינתם כל היום
- Je suis pour tout mon peuple un objet de raillerie, Chaque jour l'objet de leurs chansons. (Ⅱ) - I was a derision to all my people; and their song all the day. (Ⅲ) - ἐγενήθην γέλως παντὶ λαω̨̃ μου ψαλμὸς αὐτω̃ν ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν (Ⅳ) - Factus sum in derisum omni populo meo,/ canticum eorum tota die./ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃3 השביעני במרורים הרוני לענה ס
- Il m'a rassasié d'amertume, Il m'a enivré d'absinthe. (Ⅱ) - He hath filled me with bitterness, he hath made me drunken with wormwood. (Ⅲ) - ἐχόρτασέν με πικρίας ἐμέθυσέν με χολη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Replevit me amaritudinibus ;/ inebriavit me absinthio./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃3 ויגרס בחצץ שני הכפישני באפר
- Il a brisé mes dents avec des cailloux, Il m'a couvert de cendre. (Ⅱ) - He hath also broken my teeth with gravel stones, he hath covered me with ashes. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐξέβαλεν ψήφω̨ ὀδόντας μου ἐψώμισέν με σποδόν (Ⅳ) - Et fregit ad numerum dentes meos ;/ cibavit me cinere./ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃3 ותזנח משלום נפשי נשיתי טובה
- Tu m'as enlevé la paix; Je ne connais plus le bonheur. (Ⅱ) - And thou hast removed my soul far off from peace: I forgat prosperity. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπώσατο ἐξ εἰρήνης ψυχήν μου ἐπελαθόμην ἀγαθὰ (Ⅳ) - Et repulsa est a pace anima mea ;/ oblitus sum bonorum./ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃3 ואמר אבד נצחי ותוחלתי מיהוה ס
- Et j'ai dit: Ma force est perdue, Je n'ai plus d'espérance en l'Éternel! (Ⅱ) - And I said, My strength and my hope is perished from the LORD: (Ⅲ) - καὶ εἰ̃πα ἀπώλετο νει̃κός μου καὶ ἡ ἐλπίς μου ἀπὸ κυρίου (Ⅳ) - Et dixi : Periit finis meus,/ et spes mea a Domino./ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃3 זכר עניי ומרודי לענה וראש
- Quand je pense à ma détresse et à ma misère, A l'absinthe et au poison; (Ⅱ) - Remembering mine affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall. (Ⅲ) - ἐμνήσθην ἀπὸ πτωχείας μου καὶ ἐκ διωγμου̃ μου πικρίας καὶ χολη̃ς μου (Ⅳ) - Recordare paupertatis, et transgressionis meæ,/ absinthii et fellis./ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃3 זכור תזכור *ותשיח **ותשוח עלי נפשי
- Quand mon âme s'en souvient, Elle est abattue au dedans de moi. (Ⅱ) - My soul hath them still in remembrance, and is humbled in me. (Ⅲ) - μνησθήσεται καὶ καταδολεσχήσει ἐπ' ἐμὲ ἡ ψυχή μου (Ⅳ) - Memoria memor ero, et tabescet/ in me anima mea./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃3 זאת אשיב אל לבי על כן אוחיל ס
- Voici ce que je veux repasser en mon coeur, Ce qui me donnera de l'espérance. (Ⅱ) - This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope. (Ⅲ) - ταύτην τάξω εἰς τὴν καρδίαν μου διὰ του̃το ὑπομενω̃ (Ⅳ) - Hæc recolens in corde meo,/ ideo sperabo./ (Ⅴ)

22 ׃3 חסדי יהוה כי לא תמנו כי לא כלו רחמיו
- Les bontés de l'Éternel ne sont pas épuisés, Ses compassions ne sont pas à leur terme; (Ⅱ) - It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. (Ⅲ) - Misericordiæ Domini, quia non sumus consumpti ;/ quia non defecerunt miserationes ejus./ (Ⅴ)

23 ׃3 חדשים לבקרים רבה אמונתך
- Elles se renouvellent chaque matin. Oh! que ta fidélité est grande! (Ⅱ) - They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness. (Ⅲ) - Novi diluculo,/ multa est fides tua./ (Ⅴ)

24 ׃3 חלקי יהוה אמרה נפשי על כן אוחיל לו ס
- L'Éternel est mon partage, dit mon âme; C'est pourquoi je veux espérer en lui. (Ⅱ) - The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. (Ⅲ) - Pars mea Dominus, dixit anima mea ;/ propterea exspectabo eum./ (Ⅴ)

25 ׃3 טוב יהוה לקוו[Q][q] לנפש תדרשנו
- L'Éternel a de la bonté pour qui espère en lui, Pour l'âme qui le cherche. (Ⅱ) - The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. (Ⅲ) - ἀγαθὸς κύριος τοι̃ς ὑπομένουσιν αὐτόν ψυχη̨̃ ἣ ζητήσει αὐτὸν ἀγαθὸν (Ⅳ) - Bonus est Dominus sperantibus in eum,/ animæ quærenti illum./ (Ⅴ)

26 ׃3 טוב ויחיל ודומם לתשועת יהוה
- Il est bon d'attendre en silence Le secours de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὑπομενει̃ καὶ ἡσυχάσει εἰς τὸ σωτήριον κυρίου (Ⅳ) - Bonum est præstolari cum silentio/ salutare Dei./ (Ⅴ)

27 ׃3 טוב לגבר כי ישא על בנעוריו ס
- Il est bon pour l'homme De porter le joug dans sa jeunesse. (Ⅱ) - It is good for a man that he bear the yoke of his youth. (Ⅲ) - ἀγαθὸν ἀνδρὶ ὅταν ἄρη̨ ζυγὸν ἐν νεότητι αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Bonum est viro cum portaverit jugum/ ab adolescentia sua./ (Ⅴ)

28 ׃3 ישב בדד וידם כי נטל עליו
- Il se tiendra solitaire et silencieux, Parce que l'Éternel le lui impose; (Ⅱ) - He sitteth alone and keepeth silence, because he hath borne it upon him. (Ⅲ) - καθήσεται κατὰ μόνας καὶ σιωπήσεται ὅτι ἠ̃ρεν ἐφ' ἑαυτω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - Sedebit solitarius, et tacebit,/ quia levavit super se./ (Ⅴ)

29 ׃3 יתן בעפר פיהו אולי יש תקוה
- Il mettra sa bouche dans la poussière, Sans perdre toute espérance; (Ⅱ) - He putteth his mouth in the dust; if so be there may be hope. (Ⅲ) - Ponet in pulvere os suum,/ si forte sit spes./ (Ⅴ)

30 ׃3 יתן למכהו לחי ישבע בחרפה ס
- Il présentera la joue à celui qui le frappe, Il se rassasiera d'opprobres. (Ⅱ) - He giveth his cheek to him that smiteth him: he is filled full with reproach. (Ⅲ) - δώσει τω̨̃ παίοντι αὐτὸν σιαγόνα χορτασθήσεται ὀνειδισμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Dabit percutienti se maxillam :/ saturabitur opprobriis./ (Ⅴ)

31 ׃3 כי לא יזנח לעולם אדני
- Car le Seigneur Ne rejette pas à toujours. (Ⅱ) - For the LORD will not cast off for ever: (Ⅲ) - ὅτι οὐκ εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να ἀπώσεται κύριος (Ⅳ) - Quia non repellet/ in sempiternum Dominus./ (Ⅴ)

32 ׃3 כי אם הוגה ורחם כרב *חסדו **חסדיו
- Mais, lorsqu'il afflige, Il a compassion selon sa grande miséricorde; (Ⅱ) - But though he cause grief, yet will he have compassion according to the multitude of his mercies. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ὁ ταπεινώσας οἰκτιρήσει κατὰ τὸ πλη̃θος του̃ ἐλέους αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Quia si abjecit, et miserebitur,/ secundum multitudinem misericordiarum suarum./ (Ⅴ)

- Car ce n'est pas volontiers qu'il humilie Et qu'il afflige les enfants des hommes. (Ⅱ) - For he doth not afflict willingly nor grieve the children of men. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι οὐκ ἀπεκρίθη ἀπὸ καρδίας αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐταπείνωσεν υἱοὺς ἀνδρός (Ⅳ) - Non enim humiliavit ex corde suo/ et abjecit filios hominum./ (Ⅴ)

34 ׃3 לדכא תחת רגליו כל אסירי ארץ
- Quand on foule aux pieds Tous les captifs du pays, (Ⅱ) - To crush under his feet all the prisoners of the earth. (Ⅲ) - του̃ ταπεινω̃σαι ὑπὸ τοὺς πόδας αὐτου̃ πάντας δεσμίους γη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Ut conteret sub pedibus suis/ omnes vinctos terræ./ (Ⅴ)

35 ׃3 להטות משפט גבר נגד פני עליון
- Quand on viole la justice humaine A la face du Très Haut, (Ⅱ) - To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the most High, (Ⅲ) - του̃ ἐκκλι̃ναι κρίσιν ἀνδρὸς κατέναντι προσώπου ὑψίστου (Ⅳ) - Ut declinaret judicium viri/ in conspectu vultus Altissimi./ (Ⅴ)

36 ׃3 לעות אדם בריבו אדני לא ראה ס
- Quand on fait tort à autrui dans sa cause, Le Seigneur ne le voit-il pas? (Ⅱ) - To subvert a man in his cause, the LORD approveth not. (Ⅲ) - καταδικάσαι ἄνθρωπον ἐν τω̨̃ κρίνεσθαι αὐτὸν κύριος οὐκ εἰ̃πεν (Ⅳ) - Ut perverteret hominem in judicio suo ;/ Dominus ignoravit./ (Ⅴ)

37 ׃3 מי זה אמר ותהי אדני לא צוה
- Qui dira qu'une chose arrive, Sans que le Seigneur l'ait ordonnée? (Ⅱ) - Who is he that saith, and it cometh to pass, when the Lord commandeth it not? (Ⅲ) - τίς οὕτως εἰ̃πεν καὶ ἐγενήθη κύριος οὐκ ἐνετείλατο (Ⅳ) - Quis est iste qui dixit ut fieret,/ Domino non jubente ?/ (Ⅴ)

38 ׃3 מפי עליון לא תצא הרעות והטוב
- N'est-ce pas de la volonté du Très Haut que viennent Les maux et les biens? (Ⅱ) - Out of the mouth of the most High proceedeth not evil and good? (Ⅲ) - ἐκ στόματος ὑψίστου οὐκ ἐξελεύσεται τὰ κακὰ καὶ τὸ ἀγαθόν (Ⅳ) - Ex ore Altissimi non egredientur/ nec mala nec bona ?/ (Ⅴ)

39 ׃3 מה יתאונן אדם חי גבר על *חטאו **חטאיו ס
- Pourquoi l'homme vivant se plaindrait-il? Que chacun se plaigne de ses propres péchés. (Ⅱ) - Wherefore doth a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins? (Ⅲ) - τί γογγύσει ἄνθρωπος ζω̃ν ἀνὴρ περὶ τη̃ς ἁμαρτίας αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Quid murmuravit homo vivens,/ vir pro peccatis suis ?/ (Ⅴ)

40 ׃3 נחפשה דרכינו ונחקרה ונשובה עד יהוה
- Recherchons nos voies et sondons, Et retournons à l'Éternel; (Ⅱ) - Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to the LORD. (Ⅲ) - ἐξηρευνήθη ἡ ὁδὸς ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἠτάσθη καὶ ἐπιστρέψωμεν ἕως κυρίου (Ⅳ) - Scrutemur vias nostras, et quæramus,/ et revertamur ad Dominum./ (Ⅴ)

41 ׃3 נשא לבבנו אל כפים אל אל בשמים
- Élevons nos coeurs et nos mains Vers Dieu qui est au ciel: (Ⅱ) - Let us lift up our heart with our hands unto God in the heavens. (Ⅲ) - ἀναλάβωμεν καρδίας ἡμω̃ν ἐπὶ χειρω̃ν πρὸς ὑψηλὸν ἐν οὐρανω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - Levemus corda nostra cum manibus/ ad Dominum in cælos./ (Ⅴ)

42 ׃3 נחנו פשענו ומרינו אתה לא סלחת ס
- Nous avons péché, nous avons été rebelles! Tu n'as point pardonné! (Ⅱ) - We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned. (Ⅲ) - ἡμαρτήσαμεν ἠσεβήσαμεν καὶ οὐχ ἱλάσθης (Ⅳ) - Nos inique egimus, et ad iracundiam provocavimus ;/ idcirco tu inexorabilis es./ (Ⅴ)

43 ׃3 סכתה באף ותרדפנו הרגת לא חמלת
- Tu t'es caché dans ta colère, et tu nous as poursuivis; Tu as tué sans miséricorde; (Ⅱ) - Thou hast covered with anger, and persecuted us: thou hast slain, thou hast not pitied. (Ⅲ) - ἐπεσκέπασας ἐν θυμω̨̃ καὶ ἀπεδίωξας ἡμα̃ς ἀπέκτεινας οὐκ ἐφείσω (Ⅳ) - Operuisti in furore, et percussisti nos ;/ occidisti, nec pepercisti./ (Ⅴ)

44 ׃3 סכותה בענן לך מעבור תפלה
- Tu t'es enveloppé d'un nuage, Pour fermer accès à la prière. (Ⅱ) - Thou hast covered thyself with a cloud, that our prayer should not pass through. (Ⅲ) - ἐπεσκέπασας νεφέλην σεαυτω̨̃ εἵνεκεν προσευχη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Opposuisti nubem tibi,/ ne transeat oratio./ (Ⅴ)

45 ׃3 סחי ומאוס תשימנו בקרב העמים ס
- Tu nous as rendus un objet de mépris et de dédain Au milieu des peuples. (Ⅱ) - Thou hast made us as the offscouring and refuse in the midst of the people. (Ⅲ) - καμμύσαι με καὶ ἀπωσθη̃ναι ἔθηκας ἡμα̃ς ἐν μέσω̨ τω̃ν λαω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Eradicationem et abjectionem posuisti me/ in medio populorum./ (Ⅴ)

46 ׃3 פצו עלינו פיהם כל איבינו
- Ils ouvrent la bouche contre nous, Tous ceux qui sont nos ennemis. (Ⅱ) - All our enemies have opened their mouths against us. (Ⅲ) - διήνοιξαν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς τὸ στόμα αὐτω̃ν πάντες οἱ ἐχθροὶ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Aperuerunt super nos os suum/ omnes inimici./ (Ⅴ)

47 ׃3 פחד ופחת היה לנו השאת והשבר
- Notre partage a été la terreur et la fosse, Le ravage et la ruine. (Ⅱ) - Fear and a snare is come upon us, desolation and destruction. (Ⅲ) - φόβος καὶ θυμὸς ἐγενήθη ἡμι̃ν ἔπαρσις καὶ συντριβή (Ⅳ) - Formido et laqueus facta est nobis/ vaticinatio, et contritio./ (Ⅴ)

48 ׃3 פלגי מים תרד עיני על שבר בת עמי ס
- Des torrents d'eau coulent de mes yeux, A cause de la ruine de la fille de mon peuple. (Ⅱ) - Mine eye runneth down with rivers of water for the destruction of the daughter of my people. 49 ׃3 עיני נגרה ולא תדמה מאין הפגות
- Mon oeil fond en larmes, sans repos, Sans relâche, (Ⅱ) - Mine eye trickleth down, and ceaseth not, without any intermission. (Ⅲ) - ὁ ὀφθαλμός μου κατεπόθη καὶ οὐ σιγήσομαι του̃ μὴ εἰ̃ναι ἔκνηψιν (Ⅳ) - Oculus meus afflictus est, nec tacuit,/ eo quod non esset requies./ (Ⅴ)

50 ׃3 עד ישקיף וירא יהוה משמים
- Jusqu'à ce que l'Éternel regarde et voie Du haut des cieux; (Ⅱ) - Till the LORD look down, and behold from heaven. (Ⅲ) - ἕως οὑ̃ διακύψη̨ καὶ ἴδη̨ κύριος ἐξ οὐρανου̃ (Ⅳ) - Donec respiceret et videret/ Dominus de cælis./ (Ⅴ)
