Woe to the rebellious children, saith the LORD, that take counsel, but not of me; and that cover with a covering, but not of my spirit, that they may add sin to sin:
- Malheur, dit l'Éternel, aux enfants rebelles, Qui prennent des résolutions sans moi, Et qui font des alliances sans ma volonté, Pour accumuler péché sur péché! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ τέκνα ἀποστάται τάδε λέγει κύριος ἐποιήσατε βουλὴν οὐ δι' ἐμου̃ καὶ συνθήκας οὐ διὰ του̃ πνεύματός μου προσθει̃ναι ἁμαρτίας ἐφ' ἁμαρτίαις (Ⅲ) - Væ filii desertores, dicit Dominus,/ ut faceretis consilium, et non ex me,/ et ordiremini telam, et non per spiritum meum,/ ut adderetis peccatum super peccatum ;/ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃30 הוי בנים סוררים נאם יהוה לעשות עצה ולא מני ולנסך מסכה ולא רוחי למען ספות חטאת על חטאת (Ⅴ)

That walk to go down into Egypt, and have not asked at my mouth; to strengthen themselves in the strength of Pharaoh, and to trust in the shadow of Egypt!
- Qui descendent en Égypte sans me consulter, Pour se réfugier sous la protection de Pharaon, Et chercher un abri sous l'ombre de l'Égypte! (Ⅱ) - οἱ πορευόμενοι καταβη̃ναι εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐμὲ δὲ οὐκ ἐπηρώτησαν του̃ βοηθηθη̃ναι ὑπὸ Φαραω καὶ σκεπασθη̃ναι ὑπὸ Αἰγυπτίων (Ⅲ) - qui ambulatis ut descendatis in Ægyptum,/ et os meum non interrogastis,/ sperantes auxilium in fortitudine Pharaonis,/ et habentes fiduciam in umbra Ægypti !/ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃30 ההלכים לרדת מצרים ופי לא שאלו לעוז במעוז פרעה ולחסות בצל מצרים (Ⅴ)

Therefore shall the strength of Pharaoh be your shame, and the trust in the shadow of Egypt your confusion.
- La protection de Pharaon sera pour vous une honte, Et l'abri sous l'ombre de l'Égypte une ignominie. (Ⅱ) - ἔσται γὰρ ὑμι̃ν ἡ σκέπη Φαραω εἰς αἰσχύνην καὶ τοι̃ς πεποιθόσιν ἐπ' Αἴγυπτον ὄνειδος (Ⅲ) - Et erit vobis fortitudo Pharaonis in confusionem,/ et fiducia umbræ Ægypti in ignominiam./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃30 והיה לכם מעוז פרעה לבשת והחסות בצל מצרים לכלמה (Ⅴ)

For his princes were at Zoan, and his ambassadors came to Hanes.
- Déjà ses princes sont à Tsoan, Et ses envoyés ont atteint Hanès. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι εἰσὶν ἐν Τάνει ἀρχηγοὶ ἄγγελοι πονηροί μάτην κοπιάσουσιν (Ⅲ) - Erant enim in Tani principes tui,/ et nuntii tui usque ad Hanes pervenerunt./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃30 כי היו בצען שריו ומלאכיו חנס יגיעו (Ⅴ)

They were all ashamed of a people that could not profit them, nor be an help nor profit, but a shame, and also a reproach.
- Tous seront confus au sujet d'un peuple qui ne leur sera point utile, Ni pour les secourir, ni pour les aider, Mais qui fera leur honte et leur opprobre. (Ⅱ) - πρὸς λαόν ὃς οὐκ ὠφελήσει αὐτοὺς οὔτε εἰς βοήθειαν οὔτε εἰς ὠφέλειαν ἀλλὰ εἰς αἰσχύνην καὶ ὄνειδος (Ⅲ) - Omnes confusi sunt super populo qui eis prodesse non potuit :/ non fuerunt in auxilium et in aliquam utilitatem,/ sed in confusionem et in opprobrium.] (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃30 כל *הבאיש **הביש על עם לא יועילו למו לא לעזר ולא להועיל כי לבשת וגם לחרפה ס (Ⅴ)

The burden of the beasts of the south: into the land of trouble and anguish, from whence come the young and old lion, the viper and fiery flying serpent, they will carry their riches upon the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures upon the bunches of camels, to a people that shall not profit them.
- Sentence des bêtes du midi: A travers une contrée de détresse et d'angoisse, D'où viennent la lionne et le lion, La vipère et le dragon volant, Ils portent à dos d'ânes leurs richesses, Et sur la bosse des chameaux leurs trésors, A un peuple qui ne leur sera point utile. (Ⅱ) - ἡ ὅρασις τω̃ν τετραπόδων τω̃ν ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἐν τη̨̃ θλίψει καὶ τη̨̃ στενοχωρία̨ λέων καὶ σκύμνος λέοντος ἐκει̃θεν καὶ ἀσπίδες καὶ ἔκγονα ἀσπίδων πετομένων οἳ ἔφερον ἐπ' ὄνων καὶ καμήλων τὸν πλου̃τον αὐτω̃ν πρὸς ἔθνος ὃ οὐκ ὠφελήσει αὐτοὺς εἰς βοήθειαν ἀλλὰ εἰς αἰσχύνην καὶ ὄνειδος (Ⅲ) - Onus jumentorum austri. [In terra tribulationis et angustiæ/ leæna, et leo ex eis,/ vipera et regulus volans ;/ portantes super humeros jumentorum divitias suas,/ et super gibbum camelorum thesauros suos,/ ad populum qui eis prodesse non poterit./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃30 משא בהמות נגב בארץ צרה וצוקה לביא וליש מהם אפעה ושרף מעופף ישאו על כתף עירים חילהם ועל דבשת גמלים אוצרתם על עם לא יועילו (Ⅴ)

For the Egyptians shall help in vain, and to no purpose: therefore have I cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still.
- Car le secours de l'Égypte n'est que vanité et néant; C'est pourquoi j'appelle cela du bruit qui n'aboutit à rien. (Ⅱ) - Αἰγύπτιοι μάταια καὶ κενὰ ὠφελήσουσιν ὑμα̃ς ἀπάγγειλον αὐτοι̃ς ὅτι ματαία ἡ παράκλησις ὑμω̃ν αὕτη (Ⅲ) - Ægyptus enim frustra et vane auxiliabitur./ Ideo clamavi super hoc : Superbia tantum est, quiesce./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃30 ומצרים הבל וריק יעזרו לכן קראתי לזאת רהב הם שבת (Ⅴ)

Now go, write it before them in a table, and note it in a book, that it may be for the time to come for ever and ever:
- Va maintenant, écris ces choses devant eux sur une table, Et grave-les dans un livre, Afin qu'elles subsistent dans les temps à venir, Éternellement et à perpétuité. (Ⅱ) - νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν καθίσας γράψον ἐπὶ πυξίου ταυ̃τα καὶ εἰς βιβλίον ὅτι ἔσται εἰς ἡμέρας καιρω̃ν ταυ̃τα καὶ ἕως εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅲ) - Nunc ergo ingressus, scribe ei super buxum,/ et in libro diligenter exara illud,/ et erit in die novissimo/ in testimonium usque in æternum./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃30 עתה בוא כתבה על לוח אתם ועל ספר חקה ותהי ליום אחרון לעד עד עולם (Ⅴ)

That this is a rebellious people, lying children, children that will not hear the law of the LORD:
- Car c'est un peuple rebelle, Ce sont des enfants menteurs, Des enfants qui ne veulent point écouter la loi de l'Éternel, (Ⅱ) - ὅτι λαὸς ἀπειθής ἐστιν υἱοὶ ψευδει̃ς οἳ οὐκ ἠβούλοντο ἀκούειν τὸν νόμον του̃ θεου̃ (Ⅲ) - Populus enim ad iracundiam provocans est :/ et filii mendaces,/ filii nolentes/ audire legem Dei ;/ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃30 כי עם מרי הוא בנים כחשים בנים לא אבו שמוע תורת יהוה (Ⅴ)

Which say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Prophesy not unto us right things, speak unto us smooth things, prophesy deceits:
- Qui disent aux voyants: Ne voyez pas! Et aux prophètes: Ne nous prophétisez pas des vérités, Dites-nous des choses flatteuses, Prophétisez des chimères! (Ⅱ) - οἱ λέγοντες τοι̃ς προφήταις μὴ ἀναγγέλλετε ἡμι̃ν καὶ τοι̃ς τὰ ὁράματα ὁρω̃σιν μὴ λαλει̃τε ἡμι̃ν ἀλλὰ ἡμι̃ν λαλει̃τε καὶ ἀναγγέλλετε ἡμι̃ν ἑτέραν πλάνησιν (Ⅲ) - qui dicunt videntibus : Nolite videre,/ et aspicientibus : Nolite aspicere nobis ea quæ recta sunt ;/ loquimini nobis placentia :/ videte nobis errores./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃30 אשר אמרו לראים לא תראו ולחזים לא תחזו לנו נכחות דברו לנו חלקות חזו מהתלות (Ⅴ)

Get you out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.
- Détournez-vous du chemin, Écartez-vous du sentier, Éloignez de notre présence le Saint d'Israël! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀποστρέψατε ἡμα̃ς ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ ταύτης ἀφέλετε ἀφ' ἡμω̃ν τὸν τρίβον του̃τον καὶ ἀφέλετε ἀφ' ἡμω̃ν τὸν ἅγιον του̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Auferte a me viam ;/ declinate a me semitam ;/ cesset a facie nostra/ Sanctus Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃30 סורו מני דרך הטו מני ארח השביתו מפנינו את קדוש ישראל ס (Ⅴ)

Wherefore thus saith the Holy One of Israel, Because ye despise this word, and trust in oppression and perverseness, and stay thereon:
- C'est pourquoi ainsi parle le Saint d'Israël: Puisque vous rejetez cette parole, Que vous vous confiez dans la violence et dans les détours Et que vous les prenez pour appuis, (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το οὕτως λέγει κύριος ὁ ἅγιος του̃ Ισραηλ ὅτι ἠπειθήσατε τοι̃ς λόγοις τούτοις καὶ ἠλπίσατε ἐπὶ ψεύδει καὶ ὅτι ἐγόγγυσας καὶ πεποιθὼς ἐγένου ἐπὶ τω̨̃ λόγω̨ τούτω̨ (Ⅲ) - Propterea hæc dicit Sanctus Israël : Pro eo quod reprobastis verbum hoc,/ et sperastis in calumnia et in tumultu,/ et innixi estis super eo ;/ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃30 לכן כה אמר קדוש ישראל יען מאסכם בדבר הזה ותבטחו בעשק ונלוז ותשענו עליו (Ⅴ)

Therefore this iniquity shall be to you as a breach ready to fall, swelling out in a high wall, whose breaking cometh suddenly at an instant.
- Ce crime sera pour vous Comme une partie crevassée qui menace ruine Et fait saillie dans un mur élevé, Dont l'écroulement arrive tout à coup, en un instant: (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το ἔσται ὑμι̃ν ἡ ἁμαρτία αὕτη ὡς τει̃χος πι̃πτον παραχρη̃μα πόλεως ὀχυρα̃ς ἑαλωκυίας ἡ̃ς παραχρη̃μα πάρεστιν τὸ πτω̃μα (Ⅲ) - propterea erit vobis iniquitas hæc/ sicut interruptio cadens,/ et requisita in muro excelso,/ quoniam subito, dum non speratur, veniet contritio ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃30 לכן יהיה לכם העון הזה כפרץ נפל נבעה בחומה נשגבה אשר פתאם לפתע יבוא שברה (Ⅴ)

And he shall break it as the breaking of the potters' vessel that is broken in pieces; he shall not spare: so that there shall not be found in the bursting of it a sherd to take fire from the hearth, or to take water withal out of the pit.
- Il se brise comme se brise un vase de terre, Que l'on casse sans ménagement, Et dont les débris ne laissent pas un morceau Pour prendre du feu au foyer, Ou pour puiser de l'eau à la citerne. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸ πτω̃μα αὐτη̃ς ἔσται ὡς σύντριμμα ἀγγείου ὀστρακίνου ἐκ κεραμίου λεπτὰ ὥστε μὴ εὑρει̃ν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς ὄστρακον ἐν ὡ̨̃ πυ̃ρ ἀρει̃ς καὶ ἐν ὡ̨̃ ἀποσυριει̃ς ὕδωρ μικρόν (Ⅲ) - Et comminuetur sicut conteritur lagena figuli/ contritione pervalida,/ et non invenietur de fragmentis ejus testa/ in qua portetur igniculus de incendio,/ aut hauriatur parum aquæ de fovea./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃30 ושברה כשבר נבל יוצרים כתות לא יחמל ולא ימצא במכתתו חרש לחתות אש מיקוד ולחשף מים מגבא פ (Ⅴ)

For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
- Car ainsi a parlé le Seigneur, l'Éternel, le Saint d'Israël: C'est dans la tranquillité et le repos que sera votre salut, C'est dans le calme et la confiance que sera votre force. Mais vous ne l'avez pas voulu! (Ⅱ) - οὕτω λέγει κύριος ὁ ἅγιος του̃ Ισραηλ ὅταν ἀποστραφεὶς στενάξη̨ς τότε σωθήση̨ καὶ γνώση̨ που̃ ἠ̃σθα ὅτε ἐπεποίθεις ἐπὶ τοι̃ς ματαίοις ματαία ἡ ἰσχὺς ὑμω̃ν ἐγενήθη καὶ οὐκ ἠβούλεσθε ἀκούειν (Ⅲ) - Quia hæc dicit Dominus Deus, Sanctus Israël :/ Si revertamini et quiescatis, salvi eritis ;/ in silentio et in spe erit fortitudo vestra./ Et noluistis,/ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃30 כי כה אמר אדני יהוה קדוש ישראל בשובה ונחת תושעון בהשקט ובבטחה תהיה גבורתכם ולא אביתם (Ⅴ)

But ye said, No; for we will flee upon horses; therefore shall ye flee: and, We will ride upon the swift; therefore shall they that pursue you be swift.
- Vous avez dit: Non! nous prendrons la course à cheval! -C'est pourquoi vous fuirez à la course. -Nous monterons des coursiers légers! -C'est pourquoi ceux qui vous poursuivront seront légers. (Ⅱ) - ἀλλ' εἴπατε ἐφ' ἵππων φευξόμεθα διὰ του̃το φεύξεσθε καὶ εἴπατε ἐπὶ κούφοις ἀναβάται ἐσόμεθα διὰ του̃το κου̃φοι ἔσονται οἱ διώκοντες ὑμα̃ς (Ⅲ) - et dixistis : Nequaquam,/ sed ad equos fugiemus :/ ideo fugietis ;/ et : Super veloces ascendemus :/ ideo velociores erunt qui persequentur vos./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃30 ותאמרו לא כי על סוס ננוס על כן תנוסון ועל קל נרכב על כן יקלו רדפיכם (Ⅴ)

One thousand shall flee at the rebuke of one; at the rebuke of five shall ye flee: till ye be left as a beacon upon the top of a mountain, and as an ensign on an hill.
- Mille fuiront à la menace d'un seul, Et, à la menace de cinq, vous fuirez, Jusqu'à ce que vous restiez Comme un signal au sommet de la montagne, Comme un étendard sur la colline. (Ⅱ) - διὰ φωνὴν ἑνὸς φεύξονται χίλιοι καὶ διὰ φωνὴν πέντε φεύξονται πολλοί ἕως ἂν καταλειφθη̃τε ὡς ἱστὸς ἐπ' ὄρους καὶ ὡς σημαίαν φέρων ἐπὶ βουνου̃ (Ⅲ) - Mille homines a facie terroris unius ;/ et a facie terroris quinque fugietis,/ donec relinquamini/ quasi malus navis in vertice montis,/ et quasi signum super collem./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃30 אלף אחד מפני גערת אחד מפני גערת חמשה תנסו עד אם נותרתם כתרן על ראש ההר וכנס על הגבעה (Ⅴ)

And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.
- Cependant l'Éternel désire vous faire grâce, Et il se lèvera pour vous faire miséricorde; Car l'Éternel est un Dieu juste: Heureux tous ceux qui espèrent en lui! (Ⅱ) - καὶ πάλιν μενει̃ ὁ θεὸς του̃ οἰκτιρη̃σαι ὑμα̃ς καὶ διὰ του̃το ὑψωθήσεται του̃ ἐλεη̃σαι ὑμα̃ς διότι κριτὴς κύριος ὁ θεὸς ἡμω̃ν ἐστιν καὶ που̃ καταλείψετε τὴν δόξαν ὑμω̃ν μακάριοι οἱ ἐμμένοντες ἐν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Propterea exspectat Dominus ut misereatur vestri ;/ et ideo exaltabitur parcens vobis,/ quia Deus judicii Dominus :/ beati omnes qui exspectant eum !/ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃30 ולכן יחכה יהוה לחננכם ולכן ירום לרחמכם כי אלהי משפט יהוה אשרי כל חוכי לו ס (Ⅴ)

For the people shall dwell in Zion at Jerusalem: thou shalt weep no more: he will be very gracious unto thee at the voice of thy cry; when he shall hear it, he will answer thee.
- Oui, peuple de Sion, habitant de Jérusalem, Tu ne pleureras plus! Il te fera grâce, quand tu crieras; Dès qu'il aura entendu, il t'exaucera. (Ⅱ) - διότι λαὸς ἅγιος ἐν Σιων οἰκήσει καὶ Ιερουσαλημ κλαυθμω̨̃ ἔκλαυσεν ἐλέησόν με ἐλεήσει σε τὴν φωνὴν τη̃ς κραυγη̃ς σου ἡνίκα εἰ̃δεν ἐπήκουσέν σου (Ⅲ) - Populus enim Sion habitabit in Jerusalem :/ plorans nequaquam plorabis :/ miserans miserebitur tui, ad vocem clamoris tui :/ statim ut audierit, respondebit tibi./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃30 כי עם בציון ישב בירושלם בכו לא תבכה חנון יחנך לקול זעקך כשמעתו ענך (Ⅴ)

And though the Lord give you the bread of adversity, and the water of affliction, yet shall not thy teachers be removed into a corner any more, but thine eyes shall see thy teachers:
- Le Seigneur vous donnera du pain dans l'angoisse, Et de l'eau dans la détresse; Ceux qui t'instruisent ne se cacheront plus, Mais tes yeux verront ceux qui t'instruisent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ δώσει κύριος ὑμι̃ν ἄρτον θλίψεως καὶ ὕδωρ στενόν καὶ οὐκέτι μὴ ἐγγίσωσίν σοι οἱ πλανω̃ντές σε ὅτι οἱ ὀφθαλμοί σου ὄψονται τοὺς πλανω̃ντάς σε (Ⅲ) - Et dabit vobis Dominus/ panem arctum, et aquam brevem ;/ et non faciet avolare a te ultra doctorem tuum ;/ et erunt oculi tui videntes præceptorem tuum./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃30 ונתן לכם אדני לחם צר ומים לחץ ולא יכנף עוד מוריך והיו עיניך ראות את מוריך (Ⅴ)

And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
- Tes oreilles entendront derrière toi la voix qui dira: Voici le chemin, marchez-y! Car vous iriez à droite, ou vous iriez à gauche. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὰ ὠ̃τά σου ἀκούσονται τοὺς λόγους τω̃ν ὀπίσω σε πλανησάντων οἱ λέγοντες αὕτη ἡ ὁδός πορευθω̃μεν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ εἴτε δεξιὰ εἴτε ἀριστερά (Ⅲ) - Et aures tuæ audient verbum post tergum monentis :/ Hæc est via ; ambulate in ea,/ et non declinetis neque ad dexteram, neque ad sinistram./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃30 ואזניך תשמענה דבר מאחריך לאמר זה הדרך לכו בו כי תאמינו וכי תשמאילו (Ⅴ)

Ye shall defile also the covering of thy graven images of silver, and the ornament of thy molten images of gold: thou shalt cast them away as a menstruous cloth; thou shalt say unto it, Get thee hence.
- Vous tiendrez pour souillés l'argent qui recouvre vos idoles, Et l'or dont elles sont revêtues; Tu en disperseras les débris comme une impureté: Hors d'ici! leur diras-tu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξαρει̃ς τὰ εἴδωλα τὰ περιηργυρωμένα καὶ τὰ περικεχρυσωμένα λεπτὰ ποιήσεις καὶ λικμήσεις ὡς ὕδωρ ἀποκαθημένης καὶ ὡς κόπρον ὤσεις αὐτά (Ⅲ) - Et contaminabis laminas sculptilium argenti tui,/ et vestimentum conflatilis auri tui,/ et disperges ea sicut immunditiam menstruatæ./ Egredere, dices ei./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃30 וטמאתם את צפוי פסילי כספך ואת אפדת מסכת זהבך תזרם כמו דוה צא תאמר לו (Ⅴ)

Then shall he give the rain of thy seed, that thou shalt sow the ground withal; and bread of the increase of the earth, and it shall be fat and plenteous: in that day shall thy cattle feed in large pastures.
- Alors il répandra la pluie sur la semence que tu auras mise en terre, Et le pain que produira la terre sera savoureux et nourrissant; En ce même temps, tes troupeaux paîtront dans de vastes pâturages. (Ⅱ) - τότε ἔσται ὁ ὑετὸς τω̨̃ σπέρματι τη̃ς γη̃ς σου καὶ ὁ ἄρτος του̃ γενήματος τη̃ς γη̃ς σου ἔσται πλησμονὴ καὶ λιπαρός καὶ βοσκηθήσεταί σου τὰ κτήνη τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ τόπον πίονα καὶ εὐρύχωρον (Ⅲ) - Et dabitur pluvia semini tuo,/ ubicumque seminaveris in terra,/ et panis frugum terræ/ erit uberrimus et pinguis ;/ pascetur in possessione tua in die illo agnus spatiose,/ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃30 ונתן מטר זרעך אשר תזרע את האדמה ולחם תבואת האדמה והיה דשן ושמן ירעה מקניך ביום ההוא כר נרחב (Ⅴ)

The oxen likewise and the young asses that ear the ground shall eat clean provender, which hath been winnowed with the shovel and with the fan.
- Les boeufs et les ânes, qui labourent la terre, Mangeront un fourrage salé, Qu'on aura vanné avec la pelle et le van. (Ⅱ) - οἱ ταυ̃ροι ὑμω̃ν καὶ οἱ βόες οἱ ἐργαζόμενοι τὴν γη̃ν φάγονται ἄχυρα ἀναπεποιημένα ἐν κριθη̨̃ λελικμημένα (Ⅲ) - et tauri tui, et pulli asinorum,/ qui operantur terram,/ commistum migma comedent/ sicut in area ventilatum est./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃30 והאלפים והעירים עבדי האדמה בליל חמיץ יאכלו אשר זרה ברחת ובמזרה (Ⅴ)

And there shall be upon every high mountain, and upon every high hill, rivers and streams of waters in the day of the great slaughter, when the towers fall.
- Sur toute haute montagne et sur toute colline élevée, Il y aura des ruisseaux, des courants d'eau, Au jour du grand carnage, A la chute des tours. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐπὶ παντὸς ὄρους ὑψηλου̃ καὶ ἐπὶ παντὸς βουνου̃ μετεώρου ὕδωρ διαπορευόμενον ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ὅταν ἀπόλωνται πολλοὶ καὶ ὅταν πέσωσιν πύργοι (Ⅲ) - Et erunt super omnem montem excelsum,/ et super omnem collem elevatum,/ rivi currentium aquarum,/ in die interfectionis multorum,/ cum ceciderint turres :/ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃30 והיה על כל הר גבה[1] ועל כל גבעה נשאה פלגים יבלי מים ביום הרג רב בנפל מגדלים (Ⅴ)

Moreover the light of the moon shall be as the light of the sun, and the light of the sun shall be sevenfold, as the light of seven days, in the day that the LORD bindeth up the breach of his people, and healeth the stroke of their wound.
- La lumière de la lune sera comme la lumière du soleil, Et la lumière du soleil sera sept fois plus grande (Comme la lumière de sept jours), Lorsque l'Éternel bandera la blessure de son peuple, Et qu'il guérira la plaie de ses coups. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται τὸ φω̃ς τη̃ς σελήνης ὡς τὸ φω̃ς του̃ ἡλίου καὶ τὸ φω̃ς του̃ ἡλίου ἔσται ἑπταπλάσιον ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ὅταν ἰάσηται κύριος τὸ σύντριμμα του̃ λαου̃ αὐτου̃ καὶ τὴν ὀδύνην τη̃ς πληγη̃ς σου ἰάσεται (Ⅲ) - et erit lux lunæ sicut lux solis,/ et lux solis erit septempliciter/ sicut lux septem dierum,/ in die qua alligaverit Dominus vulnus populi sui,/ et percussuram plagæ ejus sanaverit./ (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃30 והיה אור הלבנה כאור החמה ואור החמה יהיה שבעתים כאור שבעת הימים ביום חבש יהוה את שבר עמו ומחץ מכתו ירפא ס (Ⅴ)

Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof is heavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
- Voici, le nom de l'Éternel vient de loin; Sa colère est ardente, c'est un violent incendie; Ses lèvres sont pleines de fureur, Et sa langue est comme un feu dévorant; (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ τὸ ὄνομα κυρίου διὰ χρόνου ἔρχεται πολλου̃ καιόμενος ὁ θυμός μετὰ δόξης τὸ λόγιον τω̃ν χειλέων αὐτου̃ τὸ λόγιον ὀργη̃ς πλη̃ρες καὶ ἡ ὀργὴ του̃ θυμου̃ ὡς πυ̃ρ ἔδεται (Ⅲ) - Ecce nomen Domini venit de longinquo,/ ardens furor ejus, et gravis ad portandum ;/ labia ejus repleta sunt indignatione,/ et lingua ejus quasi ignis devorans./ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃30 הנה שם יהוה בא ממרחק בער אפו וכבד משאה שפתיו מלאו זעם ולשונו כאש אכלת (Ⅴ)

And his breath, as an overflowing stream, shall reach to the midst of the neck, to sift the nations with the sieve of vanity: and there shall be a bridle in the jaws of the people, causing them to err.
- Son souffle est comme un torrent débordé qui atteint jusqu'au cou, Pour cribler les nations avec le crible de la destruction, Et comme un mors trompeur Entre les mâchoires des peuples. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸ πνευ̃μα αὐτου̃ ὡς ὕδωρ ἐν φάραγγι συ̃ρον ἥξει ἕως του̃ τραχήλου καὶ διαιρεθήσεται του̃ ἔθνη ταράξαι ἐπὶ πλανήσει ματαία̨ καὶ διώξεται αὐτοὺς πλάνησις καὶ λήμψεται αὐτοὺς κατὰ πρόσωπον αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Spiritus ejus velut torrens/ inundans usque ad medium colli,/ ad perdendas gentes in nihilum,/ et frenum erroris quod erat in maxillis populorum./ (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃30 ורוחו כנחל שוטף עד צואר יחצה להנפה גוים בנפת שוא ורסן מתעה על לחיי עמים (Ⅴ)

Ye shall have a song, as in the night when a holy solemnity is kept; and gladness of heart, as when one goeth with a pipe to come into the mountain of the LORD, to the mighty One of Israel.
- Vous chanterez comme la nuit où l'on célèbre la fête, Vous aurez le coeur joyeux comme celui qui marche au son de la flûte, Pour aller à la montagne de l'Éternel, vers le rocher d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - μὴ διὰ παντὸς δει̃ ὑμα̃ς εὐφραίνεσθαι καὶ εἰσπορεύεσθαι εἰς τὰ ἅγιά μου διὰ παντὸς ὡσεὶ ἑορτάζοντας καὶ ὡσεὶ εὐφραινομένους εἰσελθει̃ν μετὰ αὐλου̃ εἰς τὸ ὄρος του̃ κυρίου πρὸς τὸν θεὸν του̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Canticum erit vobis/ sicut nox sanctificatæ solemnitatis,/ et lætitia cordis/ sicut qui pergit cum tibia,/ ut intret in montem Domini/ ad Fortem Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃30 השיר יהיה לכם כליל התקדש חג ושמחת לבב כהולך בחליל לבוא בהר יהוה אל צור ישראל (Ⅴ)

And the LORD shall cause his glorious voice to be heard, and shall shew the lighting down of his arm, with the indignation of his anger, and with the flame of a devouring fire, with scattering, and tempest, and hailstones.
- Et l'Éternel fera retentir sa voix majestueuse, Il montrera son bras prêt à frapper, Dans l'ardeur de sa colère, Au milieu de la flamme d'un feu dévorant, De l'inondation, de la tempête et des pierres de grêle. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀκουστὴν ποιήσει ὁ θεὸς τὴν δόξαν τη̃ς φωνη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ τὸν θυμὸν του̃ βραχίονος αὐτου̃ δείξει μετὰ θυμου̃ καὶ ὀργη̃ς καὶ φλογὸς κατεσθιούσης κεραυνώσει βιαίως καὶ ὡς ὕδωρ καὶ χάλαζα συγκαταφερομένη βία̨ (Ⅲ) - Et auditam faciet Dominus gloriam vocis suæ,/ et terrorem brachii sui ostendet/ in comminatione furoris, et flamma ignis devorantis :/ allidet in turbine, et in lapide grandinis./ (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃30 והשמיע יהוה את הוד קולו ונחת זרועו יראה בזעף אף ולהב אש אוכלה נפץ וזרם ואבן ברד (Ⅴ)

For through the voice of the LORD shall the Assyrian be beaten down, which smote with a rod.
- A la voix de l'Éternel, l'Assyrien tremblera; L'Éternel le frappera de sa verge. (Ⅱ) - διὰ γὰρ φωνὴν κυρίου ἡττηθήσονται 'Ασσύριοι τη̨̃ πληγη̨̃ ἡ̨̃ ἂν πατάξη̨ αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - A voce enim Domini pavebit Assur/ virga percussus./ (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃30 כי מקול יהוה יחת אשור בשבט יכה (Ⅴ)

And in every place where the grounded staff shall pass, which the LORD shall lay upon him, it shall be with tabrets and harps: and in battles of shaking will he fight with it.
- A chaque coup de la verge qui lui est destinée, Et que l'Éternel fera tomber sur lui, On entendra les tambourins et les harpes; L'Éternel combattra contre lui à main levée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται αὐτω̨̃ κυκλόθεν ὅθεν ἠ̃ν αὐτω̨̃ ἡ ἐλπὶς τη̃ς βοηθείας ἐφ' ἡ̨̃ αὐτὸς ἐπεποίθει αὐτοὶ μετὰ αὐλω̃ν καὶ κιθάρας πολεμήσουσιν αὐτὸν ἐκ μεταβολη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et erit transitus virgæ fundatus,/ quam requiescere faciet Dominus super eum/ in tympanis et citharis ;/ et in bellis præcipuis expugnabit eos./ (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃30 והיה כל מעבר מטה מוסדה אשר יניח יהוה עליו בתפים ובכנרות ובמלחמות תנופה נלחם *בה **בם (Ⅴ)

For Tophet is ordained of old; yea, for the king it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the LORD, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it.
- Depuis longtemps un bûcher est préparé, Il est préparé pour le roi, Il est profond, il est vaste; Son bûcher, c'est du feu et du bois en abondance; Le souffle de l'Éternel l'enflamme, comme un torrent de soufre. (Ⅱ) - σὺ γὰρ πρὸ ἡμερω̃ν ἀπαιτηθήση̨ μὴ καὶ σοὶ ἡτοιμάσθη βασιλεύειν φάραγγα βαθει̃αν ξύλα κείμενα πυ̃ρ καὶ ξύλα πολλά ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ὡς φάραγξ ὑπὸ θείου καιομένη (Ⅲ) - Præparata est enim ab heri Topheth,/ a rege præparata,/ profunda, et dilatata./ Nutrimenta ejus, ignis et ligna multa ;/ flatus Domini sicut torrens sulphuris succendens eam.] (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃30 כי ערוך מאתמול תפתה גם *הוא **היא למלך הוכן העמיק הרחב מדרתה אש ועצים הרבה נשמת יהוה כנחל גפרית בערה בה ס (Ⅴ)
