Woe to them that go down to Egypt for help; and stay on horses, and trust in chariots, because they are many; and in horsemen, because they are very strong; but they look not unto the Holy One of Israel, neither seek the LORD!
- Malheur à ceux qui descendent en Égypte pour avoir du secours, Qui s'appuient sur des chevaux, Et se fient à la multitude des chars et à la force des cavaliers, Mais qui ne regardent pas vers le Saint d'Israël, Et ne recherchent pas l'Éternel! (Ⅱ) - οὐαὶ οἱ καταβαίνοντες εἰς Αἴγυπτον ἐπὶ βοήθειαν οἱ ἐφ' ἵπποις πεποιθότες καὶ ἐφ' ἅρμασιν ἔστιν γὰρ πολλά καὶ ἐφ' ἵπποις πλη̃θος σφόδρα καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃σαν πεποιθότες ἐπὶ τὸν ἅγιον του̃ Ισραηλ καὶ τὸν θεὸν οὐκ ἐξεζήτησαν (Ⅲ) - Væ qui descendunt in Ægyptum ad auxilium,/ in equis sperantes,/ et habentes fiduciam super quadrigis, quia multæ sunt ;/ et super equitibus, quia prævalidi nimis ;/ et non sunt confisi super Sanctum Israël,/ et Dominum non requisierunt !/ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃31 הוי הירדים מצרים לעזרה על סוסים ישענו ויבטחו על רכב כי רב ועל פרשים כי עצמו מאד ולא שעו על קדוש ישראל ואת יהוה לא דרשו (Ⅴ)

Yet he also is wise, and will bring evil, and will not call back his words: but will arise against the house of the evildoers, and against the help of them that work iniquity.
- Lui aussi, cependant, il est sage, il fait venir le malheur, Et ne retire point ses paroles; Il s'élève contre la maison des méchants, Et contre le secours de ceux qui commettent l'iniquité. (Ⅱ) - καὶ αὐτὸς σοφὸς ἠ̃γεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς κακά καὶ ὁ λόγος αὐτου̃ οὐ μὴ ἀθετηθη̨̃ καὶ ἐπαναστήσεται ἐπ' οἴκους ἀνθρώπων πονηρω̃ν καὶ ἐπὶ τὴν ἐλπίδα αὐτω̃ν τὴν ματαίαν (Ⅲ) - Ipse autem sapiens adduxit malum,/ et verba sua non abstulit ;/ et consurget contra domum pessimorum,/ et contra auxilium operantium iniquitatem./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃31 וגם הוא חכם ויבא רע ואת דבריו לא הסיר וקם על בית מרעים ועל עזרת פעלי און (Ⅴ)

Now the Egyptians are men, and not God; and their horses flesh, and not spirit. When the LORD shall stretch out his hand, both he that helpeth shall fall, and he that is holpen shall fall down, and they all shall fail together.
- L'Égyptien est homme et non dieu; Ses chevaux sont chair et non esprit. Quand l'Éternel étendra sa main, Le protecteur chancellera, le protégé tombera, Et tous ensemble ils périront. (Ⅱ) - Αἰγύπτιον ἄνθρωπον καὶ οὐ θεόν ἵππων σάρκας καὶ οὐκ ἔστιν βοήθεια ὁ δὲ κύριος ἐπάξει τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ ἐπ' αὐτούς καὶ κοπιάσουσιν οἱ βοηθου̃ντες καὶ ἅμα πάντες ἀπολου̃νται (Ⅲ) - Ægyptus homo, et non deus ;/ et equi eorum caro, et non spiritus ;/ et Dominus inclinabit manum suam,/ et corruet auxiliator, et cadet cui præstatur auxilium,/ simulque omnes consumentur./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃31 ומצרים אדם ולא אל וסוסיהם בשר ולא רוח ויהוה יטה ידו וכשל עוזר ונפל עזר ויחדו כלם יכליון ס (Ⅴ)

For thus hath the LORD spoken unto me, Like as the lion and the young lion roaring on his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called forth against him, he will not be afraid of their voice, nor abase himself for the noise of them: so shall the LORD of hosts come down to fight for mount Zion, and for the hill thereof.
- Car ainsi m'a parlé l'Éternel: Comme le lion, comme le lionceau rugit sur sa proie, Et, malgré tous les bergers rassemblés contre lui, Ne se laisse ni effrayer par leur voix, Ni intimider par leur nombre; De même l'Éternel des armées descendra Pour combattre sur la montagne de Sion et sur sa colline. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι οὕτως εἰ̃πέν μοι κύριος ὃν τρόπον ἐὰν βοήση̨ ὁ λέων ἢ ὁ σκύμνος ἐπὶ τη̨̃ θήρα̨ ἡ̨̃ ἔλαβεν καὶ κεκράξη̨ ἐπ' αὐτη̨̃ ἕως ἂν ἐμπλησθη̨̃ τὰ ὄρη τη̃ς φωνη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἡττήθησαν καὶ τὸ πλη̃θος του̃ θυμου̃ ἐπτοήθησαν οὕτως καταβήσεται κύριος σαβαωθ ἐπιστρατευ̃σαι ἐπὶ τὸ ὄρος τὸ Σιων ἐπὶ τὰ ὄρη αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Quia hæc dicit Dominus ad me :/ Quomodo si rugiat leo/ et catulus leonis super prædam suam ;/ et cum occurrerit ei multitudo pastorum,/ a voce eorum non formidabit,/ et a multitudine eorum non pavebit :/ sic descendet Dominus exercituum ut prælietur/ super montem Sion et super collem ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃31 כי כה אמר יהוה אלי כאשר יהגה האריה והכפיר על טרפו אשר יקרא עליו מלא רעים מקולם לא יחת ומהמונם לא יענה כן ירד יהוה צבאות לצבא על הר ציון ועל גבעתה (Ⅴ)

As birds flying, so will the LORD of hosts defend Jerusalem; defending also he will deliver it; and passing over he will preserve it.
- Comme des oiseaux déploient les ailes sur leur couvée, Ainsi l'Éternel des armées étendra sa protection sur Jérusalem; Il protégera et délivrera, Il épargnera et sauvera. (Ⅱ) - ὡς ὄρνεα πετόμενα οὕτως ὑπερασπιει̃ κύριος ὑπὲρ Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐξελει̃ται καὶ περιποιήσεται καὶ σώσει (Ⅲ) - Sicut aves volantes,/ sic proteget Dominus exercituum Jerusalem,/ protegens et liberans, transiens et salvans./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃31 כצפרים עפות כן יגן יהוה צבאות על ירושלם גנון והציל פסח והמליט (Ⅴ)

Turn ye unto him from whom the children of Israel have deeply revolted.
- Revenez à celui dont on s'est profondément détourné, Enfants d'Israël! (Ⅱ) - ἐπιστράφητε οἱ τὴν βαθει̃αν βουλὴν βουλευόμενοι καὶ ἄνομον (Ⅲ) - Convertimini, sicut in profundum recesseratis,/ filii Israël./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃31 שובו לאשר העמיקו סרה בני ישראל (Ⅴ)

For in that day every man shall cast away his idols of silver, and his idols of gold, which your own hands have made unto you for a sin.
- En ce jour, chacun rejettera ses idoles d'argent et ses idoles d'or, Que vous vous êtes fabriquées de vos mains criminelles. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἀπαρνήσονται οἱ ἄνθρωποι τὰ χειροποίητα αὐτω̃ν τὰ ἀργυρα̃ καὶ τὰ χρυσα̃ ἃ ἐποίησαν αἱ χει̃ρες αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - In die enim illa abjiciet vir/ idola argenti sui, et idola auri sui,/ quæ fecerunt vobis manus vestræ in peccatum./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃31 כי ביום ההוא ימאסון איש אלילי כספו ואלילי זהבו אשר עשו לכם ידיכם חטא (Ⅴ)

Then shall the Assyrian fall with the sword, not of a mighty man; and the sword, not of a mean man, shall devour him: but he shall flee from the sword, and his young men shall be discomfited.
- Et l'Assyrien tombera sous un glaive qui n'est pas celui d'un homme, Et un glaive qui n'est pas celui d'un homme le dévorera; Il s'enfuira devant le glaive, Et ses jeunes guerriers seront asservis. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πεσει̃ται Ασσουρ οὐ μάχαιρα ἀνδρὸς οὐδὲ μάχαιρα ἀνθρώπου καταφάγεται αὐτόν καὶ φεύξεται οὐκ ἀπὸ προσώπου μαχαίρας οἱ δὲ νεανίσκοι ἔσονται εἰς ἥττημα (Ⅲ) - Et cadet Assur in gladio non viri,/ et gladius non hominis vorabit eum :/ et fugiet non a facie gladii,/ et juvenes ejus vectigales erunt./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃31 ונפל אשור בחרב לא איש וחרב לא אדם תאכלנו ונס לו מפני חרב ובחוריו למס יהיו (Ⅴ)

And he shall pass over to his strong hold for fear, and his princes shall be afraid of the ensign, saith the LORD, whose fire is in Zion, and his furnace in Jerusalem.
- Son rocher s'enfuira d'épouvante, Et ses chefs trembleront devant la bannière, Dit l'Éternel, qui a son feu dans Sion Et sa fournaise dans Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - πέτρα̨ γὰρ περιλημφθήσονται ὡς χάρακι καὶ ἡττηθήσονται ὁ δὲ φεύγων ἁλώσεται τάδε λέγει κύριος μακάριος ὃς ἔχει ἐν Σιων σπέρμα καὶ οἰκείους ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - Et fortitudo ejus a terrore transibit,/ et pavebunt fugientes principes ejus,/ dixit Dominus : cujus ignis est in Sion/ et caminus ejus in Jerusalem.] (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃31 וסלעו ממגור יעבור וחתו מנס שריו נאם יהוה אשר אור לו בציון ותנור לו בירושלם ס (Ⅴ)
