At this also my heart trembleth, and is moved out of his place.
- Mon coeur est tout tremblant, Il bondit hors de sa place. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ταύτης ἐταράχθη ἡ καρδία μου καὶ ἀπερρύη ἐκ του̃ τόπου αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Super hoc expavit cor meum,/ et emotum est de loco suo./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃37 אף לזאת יחרד לבי ויתר ממקומו (Ⅴ)

Hear attentively the noise of his voice, and the sound that goeth out of his mouth.
- Écoutez, écoutez le frémissement de sa voix, Le grondement qui sort de sa bouche! (Ⅱ) - ἄκουε ἀκοὴν ἐν ὀργη̨̃ θυμου̃ κυρίου καὶ μελέτη ἐκ στόματος αὐτου̃ ἐξελεύσεται (Ⅲ) - Audite auditionem in terrore vocis ejus,/ et sonum de ore illius procedentem./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃37 שמעו שמוע ברגז קלו והגה מפיו יצא (Ⅴ)

He directeth it under the whole heaven, and his lightning unto the ends of the earth.
- Il le fait rouler dans toute l'étendue des cieux, Et son éclair brille jusqu'aux extrémités de la terre. (Ⅱ) - ὑποκάτω παντὸς του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἀρχὴ αὐτου̃ καὶ τὸ φω̃ς αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ πτερύγων τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Subter omnes cælos ipse considerat,/ et lumen illius super terminos terræ./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃37 תחת כל השמים ישרהו ואורו על כנפות הארץ (Ⅴ)

After it a voice roareth: he thundereth with the voice of his excellency; and he will not stay them when his voice is heard.
- Puis éclate un rugissement: il tonne de sa voix majestueuse; Il ne retient plus l'éclair, dès que sa voix retentit. (Ⅱ) - ὀπίσω αὐτου̃ βοήσεται φωνή βροντήσει ἐν φωνη̨̃ ὕβρεως αὐτου̃ καὶ οὐκ ἀνταλλάξει αὐτούς ὅτι ἀκούσει φωνὴν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Post eum rugiet sonitus ;/ tonabit voce magnitudinis suæ :/ et non investigabitur, cum audita fuerit vox ejus./ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃37 אחריו ישאג קול ירעם בקול גאונו ולא יעקבם כי ישמע קולו (Ⅴ)

God thundereth marvellously with his voice; great things doeth he, which we cannot comprehend.
- Dieu tonne avec sa voix d'une manière merveilleuse; Il fait de grandes choses que nous ne comprenons pas. (Ⅱ) - βροντήσει ὁ ἰσχυρὸς ἐν φωνη̨̃ αὐτου̃ θαυμάσια ἐποίησεν γὰρ μεγάλα ἃ οὐκ ἤ̨δειμεν (Ⅲ) - Tonabit Deus in voce sua mirabiliter,/ qui facit magna et inscrutabilia ;/ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃37 ירעם אל בקולו נפלאות עשה גדלות ולא נדע (Ⅴ)

For he saith to the snow, Be thou on the earth; likewise to the small rain, and to the great rain of his strength.
- Il dit à la neige: Tombe sur la terre! Il le dit à la pluie, même aux plus fortes pluies. (Ⅱ) - συντάσσων χιόνι γίνου ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ χειμὼν ὑετός καὶ χειμὼν ὑετω̃ν δυναστείας αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - qui præcipit nivi ut descendat in terram,/ et hiemis pluviis, et imbri fortitudinis suæ ;/ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃37 כי לשלג[1] יאמר הוא ארץ וגשם מטר וגשם מטרות עזו (Ⅴ)

He sealeth up the hand of every man; that all men may know his work.
- Il met un sceau sur la main de tous les hommes, Afin que tous se reconnaissent comme ses créatures. (Ⅱ) - ἐν χειρὶ παντὸς ἀνθρώπου κατασφραγίζει ἵνα γνω̨̃ πα̃ς ἄνθρωπος τὴν ἑαυτου̃ ἀσθένειαν (Ⅲ) - qui in manu omnium hominum signat,/ ut noverint singuli opera sua./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃37 ביד כל אדם יחתום לדעת כל אנשי מעשהו (Ⅴ)

Then the beasts go into dens, and remain in their places.
- L'animal sauvage se retire dans une caverne, Et se couche dans sa tanière. (Ⅱ) - εἰση̃λθεν δὲ θηρία ὑπὸ σκέπην ἡσύχασαν δὲ ἐπὶ κοίτης (Ⅲ) - Ingredietur bestia latibulum,/ et in antro suo morabitur./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃37 ותבא חיה במו ארב ובמעונתיה תשכן (Ⅴ)

Out of the south cometh the whirlwind: and cold out of the north.
- L'ouragan vient du midi, Et le froid, des vents du nord. (Ⅱ) - ἐκ ταμιείων ἐπέρχονται δι̃ναι ἀπὸ δὲ ἀκρωτηρίων ψυ̃χος (Ⅲ) - Ab interioribus egredietur tempestas,/ et ab Arcturo frigus./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃37 מן החדר תבוא סופה וממזרים קרה (Ⅴ)

By the breath of God frost is given: and the breadth of the waters is straitened.
- Par son souffle Dieu produit la glace, Il réduit l'espace où se répandaient les eaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπὸ πνοη̃ς ἰσχυρου̃ δώσει πάγος οἰακίζει δὲ τὸ ὕδωρ ὡς ἐὰν βούληται (Ⅲ) - Flante Deo, concrescit gelu,/ et rursum latissimæ funduntur aquæ./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃37 מנשמת אל יתן קרח ורחב מים במוצק (Ⅴ)

Also by watering he wearieth the thick cloud: he scattereth his bright cloud:
- Il charge de vapeurs les nuages, Il les disperse étincelants; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐκλεκτὸν καταπλάσσει νεφέλη διασκορπιει̃ νέφος φω̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Frumentum desiderat nubes,/ et nubes spargunt lumen suum./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃37 אף ברי יטריח עב יפיץ ענן אורו (Ⅴ)

And it is turned round about by his counsels: that they may do whatsoever he commandeth them upon the face of the world in the earth.
- Leurs évolutions varient selon ses desseins, Pour l'accomplissement de tout ce qu'il leur ordonne, Sur la face de la terre habitée; (Ⅱ) - καὶ αὐτὸς κυκλώματα διαστρέψει ἐν θεεβουλαθω εἰς ἔργα αὐτω̃ν πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείληται αὐτοι̃ς ταυ̃τα συντέτακται παρ' αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Quæ lustrant per circuitum,/ quocumque eas voluntas gubernantis duxerit,/ ad omne quod præceperit illis super faciem orbis terrarum :/ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃37 והוא מסבות מתהפך *בתחבולתו **בתחבולתיו לפעלם כל אשר יצום על פני תבל ארצה (Ⅴ)

He causeth it to come, whether for correction, or for his land, or for mercy.
- C'est comme une verge dont il frappe sa terre, Ou comme un signe de son amour, qu'il les fait apparaître. (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν εἰς παιδείαν ἐὰν εἰς τὴν γη̃ν αὐτου̃ ἐὰν εἰς ἔλεος εὑρήσει αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - sive in una tribu, sive in terra sua,/ sive in quocumque loco misericordiæ suæ/ eas jusserit inveniri./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃37 אם לשבט אם לארצו אם לחסד ימצאהו (Ⅴ)

Hearken unto this, O Job: stand still, and consider the wondrous works of God.

Dost thou know when God disposed them, and caused the light of his cloud to shine?
- Sais-tu comment Dieu les dirige, Et fait briller son nuage étincelant? (Ⅱ) - οἴδαμεν ὅτι ὁ θεὸς ἔθετο ἔργα αὐτου̃ φω̃ς ποιήσας ἐκ σκότους (Ⅲ) - Numquid scis quando præceperit Deus pluviis,/ ut ostenderent lucem nubium ejus ?/ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃37 התדע בשום אלוה עליהם והופיע אור עננו (Ⅴ)

Dost thou know the balancings of the clouds, the wondrous works of him which is perfect in knowledge?
- Comprends-tu le balancement des nuées, Les merveilles de celui dont la science est parfaite? (Ⅱ) - ἐπίσταται δὲ διάκρισιν νεφω̃ν ἐξαίσια δὲ πτώματα πονηρω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Numquid nosti semitas nubium magnas,/ et perfectas scientias ?/ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃37 התדע על מפלשי עב מפלאות תמים דעים (Ⅴ)

How thy garments are warm, when he quieteth the earth by the south wind?
- Sais-tu pourquoi tes vêtements sont chauds Quand la terre se repose par le vent du midi? (Ⅱ) - σου̃ δὲ ἡ στολὴ θερμή ἡσυχάζεται δὲ ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Nonne vestimenta tua calida sunt,/ cum perflata fuerit terra austro ?/ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃37 אשר בגדיך חמים בהשקט ארץ מדרום (Ⅴ)

Hast thou with him spread out the sky, which is strong, and as a molten looking glass?
- Peux-tu comme lui étendre les cieux, Aussi solides qu'un miroir de fonte? (Ⅱ) - στερεώσεις μετ' αὐτου̃ εἰς παλαιώματα ἰσχυραὶ ὡς ὅρασις ἐπιχύσεως (Ⅲ) - Tu forsitan cum eo fabricatus es cælos,/ qui solidissimi quasi ære fusi sunt./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃37 תרקיע עמו לשחקים חזקים כראי מוצק (Ⅴ)

Teach us what we shall say unto him; for we cannot order our speech by reason of darkness.

Shall it be told him that I speak? if a man speak, surely he shall be swallowed up.

And now men see not the bright light which is in the clouds: but the wind passeth, and cleanseth them.
- On ne peut fixer le soleil qui resplendit dans les cieux, Lorsqu'un vent passe et en ramène la pureté; (Ⅱ) - πα̃σιν δ' οὐχ ὁρατὸν τὸ φω̃ς τηλαυγές ἐστιν ἐν τοι̃ς παλαιώμασιν ὥσπερ τὸ παρ' αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ νεφω̃ν (Ⅲ) - At nunc non vident lucem :/ subito aër cogetur in nubes,/ et ventus transiens fugabit eas./ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃37 ועתה לא ראו אור בהיר הוא בשחקים ורוח עברה ותטהרם (Ⅴ)

Fair weather cometh out of the north: with God is terrible majesty.
- Le septentrion le rend éclatant comme l'or. Oh! que la majesté de Dieu est redoutable! (Ⅱ) - ἀπὸ βορρα̃ νέφη χρυσαυγου̃ντα ἐπὶ τούτοις μεγάλη ἡ δόξα καὶ τιμὴ παντοκράτορος (Ⅲ) - Ab aquilone aurum venit,/ et ad Deum formidolosa laudatio./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃37 מצפון זהב יאתה על אלוה נורא הוד (Ⅴ)

Touching the Almighty, we cannot find him out: he is excellent in power, and in judgment, and in plenty of justice: he will not afflict.
- Nous ne saurions parvenir jusqu'au Tout Puissant, Grand par la force, Par la justice, par le droit souverain: Il ne répond pas! Men do therefore fear him: he respecteth not any that are wise of heart.
