And Reaiah the son of Shobal begat Jahath; and Jahath begat Ahumai, and Lahad. These are the families of the Zorathites.

And Penuel the father of Gedor, and Ezer the father of Hushah. These are the sons of Hur, the firstborn of Ephratah, the father of Bethlehem.

And Naarah bare him Ahuzam, and Hepher, and Temeni, and Haahashtari. These were the sons of Naarah.

And Jabez was more honorable than his brethren: and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, Because I bare him with sorrow.

And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.

And Eshton begat Bethrapha, and Paseah, and Tehinnah the father of Irnahash. These are the men of Rechah.

And his wife Jehudijah bare Jered the father of Gedor, and Heber the father of Socho, and Jekuthiel the father of Zanoah. And these are the sons of Bithiah the daughter of Pharaoh, which Mered took.

The sons of Shelah the son of Judah were, Er the father of Lecah, and Laadah the father of Mareshah, and the families of the house of them that wrought fine linen, of the house of Ashbea,

And Jokim, and the men of Chozeba, and Joash, and Saraph, who had the dominion in Moab, and Jashubilehem. And these are ancient things.
- et Jokim, et les hommes de Cozéba, et Joas et Saraph, qui dominèrent sur Moab, et Jaschubi Léchem. Ces choses sont anciennes. (Ⅱ) - καὶ Ιωακιμ καὶ ἄνδρες Χωζηβα καὶ Ιωας καὶ Σαραφ οἳ κατώ̨κησαν ἐν Μωαβ καὶ ἀπέστρεψεν αὐτοὺς αβεδηριν αθουκιιν (Ⅲ) - Et qui stare fecit solem, virique Mendacii, et Securus, et Incendens, qui principes fuerunt in Moab, et qui reversi sunt in Lahem : hæc autem verba vetera. These were the potters, and those that dwelt among plants and hedges: there they dwelt with the king for his work.

And Shimei had sixteen sons and six daughters: but his brethren had not many children, neither did all their family multiply, like to the children of Judah.

(Ⅳ) - 27 ׃4 ולשמעי בנים ששה עשר ובנות שש ולאחיו אין בנים רבים וכל משפחתם לא הרבו עד בני יהודה ס (Ⅴ)

And at Bethmarcaboth, and Hazarsusim, and at Bethbirei, and at Shaaraim. These were their cities unto the reign of David.
- à Beth Marcaboth, à Hatsar Susim, à Beth Bireï et à Schaaraïm. Ce furent là leurs villes jusqu'au règne de David, et leurs villages. And their villages were, Etam, and Ain, Rimmon, and Tochen, and Ashan, five cities:
- Ils avaient encore Etham, Aïn, Rimmon, Thoken et Aschan, cinq villes; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπαύλεις αὐτω̃ν Αιταμ καὶ Ηνρεμμων καὶ Θοκκαν καὶ Αισαν πόλεις πέντε (Ⅲ) - Villæ quoque eorum : Etam, et Aën, Remmon, et Thochen, et Asan, civitates quinque. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃4 וחצריהם עיטם ועין רמון ותכן ועשן ערים חמש (Ⅴ)

And all their villages that were round about the same cities, unto Baal. These were their habitations, and their genealogy.
- et tous les villages aux environs de ces villes, jusqu'à Baal. Voilà leurs habitations et leur généalogie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πα̃σαι αἱ ἐπαύλεις αὐτω̃ν κύκλω̨ τω̃ν πόλεων τούτων ἕως Βααλ αὕτη ἡ κατάσχεσις αὐτω̃ν καὶ ὁ καταλοχισμὸς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et universi viculi eorum per circuitum civitatum istarum usque ad Baal : hæc est habitatio eorum, et sedium distributio. (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃4 וכל חצריהם אשר סביבות הערים האלה עד בעל זאת מושבתם והתיחשם להם (Ⅴ)

These mentioned by their names were princes in their families: and the house of their fathers increased greatly.

(Ⅱ) - οὑ̃τοι οἱ διελθόντες ἐν ὀνόμασιν ἀρχόντων ἐν ται̃ς γενέσεσιν αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἐν οἴκοις πατριω̃ν αὐτω̃ν ἐπληθύνθησαν εἰς πλη̃θος (Ⅲ) - Isti sunt nominati principes in cognationibus suis, et in domo affinitatum suarum multiplicati sunt vehementer. (Ⅳ) - 38 ׃4 אלה הבאים בשמות נשיאים במשפחותם ובית אבותיהם פרצו לרוב (Ⅴ)

And they went to the entrance of Gedor, even unto the east side of the valley, to seek pasture for their flocks.
- Ils allèrent du côté de Guedor jusqu'à l'orient de la vallée, afin de chercher des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθησαν ἕως του̃ ἐλθει̃ν Γεραρα ἕως τω̃ν ἀνατολω̃ν τη̃ς Γαι του̃ ζητη̃σαι νομὰς τοι̃ς κτήνεσιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et profecti sunt ut ingrederentur in Gador usque ad orientem vallis, et ut quærerent pascua gregibus suis. (Ⅳ) - 39 ׃4 וילכו למבוא גדר עד למזרח הגיא לבקש מרעה לצאנם (Ⅴ)

And they found fat pasture and good, and the land was wide, and quiet, and peaceable; for they of Ham had dwelt there of old.
- Ils trouvèrent de gras et bons pâturages, et un pays vaste, tranquille et paisible, car ceux qui l'habitaient auparavant descendaient de Cham. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εὑ̃ρον νομὰς πίονας καὶ ἀγαθάς καὶ ἡ γη̃ πλατει̃α ἐναντίον αὐτω̃ν καὶ εἰρήνη καὶ ἡσυχία ὅτι ἐκ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Χαμ τω̃ν κατοικούντων ἐκει̃ ἔμπροσθεν (Ⅲ) - Inveneruntque pascuas uberes, et valde bonas, et terram latissimam et quietam et fertilem, in qua ante habitaverant de stirpe Cham. (Ⅳ) - 40 ׃4 וימצאו מרעה שמן וטוב והארץ רחבת ידים ושקטת ושלוה כי מן חם הישבים שם לפנים (Ⅴ)

And these written by name came in the days of Hezekiah king of Judah, and smote their tents, and the habitations that were found there, and destroyed them utterly unto this day, and dwelt in their rooms: because there was pasture there for their flocks.
- Ces hommes, inscrits par leurs noms, arrivèrent du temps d'Ézéchias, roi de Juda; ils attaquèrent leurs tentes et les Maonites qui se trouvaient là, ils les dévouèrent par interdit jusqu'à ce jour, et ils s'établirent à leur place, car il y avait là des pâturages pour leurs troupeaux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἤλθοσαν οὑ̃τοι οἱ γεγραμμένοι ἐπ' ὀνόματος ἐν ἡμέραις Εζεκιου βασιλέως Ιουδα καὶ ἐπάταξαν τοὺς οἴκους αὐτω̃ν καὶ τοὺς Μιναίους οὓς εὕροσαν ἐκει̃ καὶ ἀνεθεμάτισαν αὐτοὺς ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης καὶ ὤ̨κησαν ἀντ' αὐτω̃ν ὅτι νομαὶ τοι̃ς κτήνεσιν αὐτω̃ν ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ) - Hi ergo venerunt, quos supra descripsimus nominatim, in diebus Ezechiæ regis Juda : et percusserunt tabernacula eorum, et habitatores qui inventi fuerant ibi, et deleverunt eos usque in præsentem diem : habitaveruntque pro eis, quoniam uberrimas pascuas ibidem repererunt. (Ⅳ) - 41 ׃4 ויבאו אלה הכתובים בשמות בימי יחזקיהו מלך יהודה ויכו את אהליהם ואת *המעינים **המעונים אשר נמצאו שמה ויחרימם עד היום הזה וישבו תחתיהם כי מרעה לצאנם שם (Ⅴ)

And some of them, even of the sons of Simeon, five hundred men, went to mount Seir, having for their captains Pelatiah, and Neariah, and Rephaiah, and Uzziel, the sons of Ishi.
- Il y eut aussi des fils de Siméon qui allèrent à la montagne de Séir, au nombre de cinq cents hommes. Ils avaient à leur tête Pelathia, Nearia, Rephaja et Uziel, fils de Jischeï. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξ αὐτω̃ν ἀπὸ τω̃ν υἱω̃ν Συμεων ἐπορεύθησαν εἰς ὄρος Σηιρ ἄνδρες πεντακόσιοι καὶ Φαλεττια καὶ Νωαδια καὶ Ραφαια καὶ Οζιηλ υἱοὶ Ιεσι ἄρχοντες αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - De filiis quoque Simeon abierunt in montem Seir viri quingenti, habentes principes Phalthiam et Naariam et Raphaiam et Oziel filios Jesi : (Ⅳ) - 42 ׃4 ומהם מן בני שמעון הלכו להר שעיר אנשים חמש מאות ופלטיה ונעריה ורפיה ועזיאל בני ישעי בראשם (Ⅴ)

And they smote the rest of the Amalekites that were escaped, and dwelt there unto this day.
- Ils battirent le reste des réchappés d'Amalek, et ils s'établirent là jusqu'à ce jour. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπάταξαν τοὺς καταλοίπους τοὺς καταλειφθέντας του̃ Αμαληκ καὶ κατώ̨κησαν ἐκει̃ ἕως τη̃ς ἡμέρας ταύτης (Ⅲ) - et percusserunt reliquias, quæ evadere potuerant, Amalecitarum, et habitaverunt ibi pro eis usque ad diem hanc. (Ⅳ) - 43 ׃4 ויכו את שארית הפלטה לעמלק וישבו שם עד היום הזה (Ⅴ)
