- Les nobles fils de Sion, Estimés à l'égal de l'or pur, Sont regardés, hélas! comme des vases de terre, Ouvrage des mains du potier! (Ⅱ) - The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, how are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter! Sed et lamiæ nudaverunt mammam,/ lactaverunt catulos suos :/ filia populi mei crudelis/ quasi struthio in deserto./
- Les chacals mêmes présentent la mamelle, Et allaitent leurs petits; Mais la fille de mon peuple est devenue cruelle Comme les autruches du désert. (Ⅱ) - Even the sea monsters draw out the breast, they give suck to their young ones: the daughter of my people is become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness. (Ⅲ) - καί γε δράκοντες ἐξέδυσαν μαστούς ἐθήλασαν σκύμνοι αὐτω̃ν θυγατέρες λαου̃ μου εἰς ἀνίατον ὡς στρουθίον ἐν ἐρήμω̨ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃4 גם *תנין **תנים חלצו שד היניקו גוריהן בת עמי לאכזר *כי *ענים **כיענים במדבר ס (Ⅴ)

Adhæsit lingua lactentis/ ad palatum ejus in siti ;/ parvuli petierunt panem,/ et non erat qui frangeret eis./
- La langue du nourrisson s'attache à son palais, Desséchée par la soif; Les enfants demandent du pain, Et personne ne leur en donne. (Ⅱ) - The tongue of the sucking child cleaveth to the roof of his mouth for thirst: the young children ask bread, and no man breaketh it unto them. (Ⅲ) - ἐκολλήθη ἡ γλω̃σσα θηλάζοντος πρὸς τὸν φάρυγγα αὐτου̃ ἐν δίψει νήπια ἤ̨τησαν ἄρτον ὁ διακλω̃ν οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃4 דבק לשון יונק אל חכו[Q][n][v] בצמא עוללים שאלו לחם פרש אין להם ס (Ⅴ)

Qui vescebantur voluptuose,/ interierunt in viis ;/ qui nutriebantur in croceis,/ amplexati sunt stercora./
- Ceux qui se nourrissaient de mets délicats Périssent dans les rues; Ceux qui étaient élevés dans la pourpre Embrassent les fumiers. (Ⅱ) - They that did feed delicately are desolate in the streets: they that were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills. (Ⅲ) - οἱ ἔσθοντες τὰς τρυφὰς ἠφανίσθησαν ἐν ται̃ς ἐξόδοις οἱ τιθηνούμενοι ἐπὶ κόκκων περιεβάλοντο κοπρίας (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃4 האכלים למעדנים נשמו בחוצות האמנים עלי תולע חבקו אשפתות ס (Ⅴ)

Et major effecta est iniquitas filiæ populi mei/ peccato Sodomorum,/ quæ subversa est in momento,/ et non ceperunt in ea manus./
- Le châtiment de la fille de mon peuple est plus grand Que celui de Sodome, Détruite en un instant, Sans que personne ait porté la main sur elle. (Ⅱ) - For the punishment of the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the punishment of the sin of Sodom, that was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands stayed on her. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἐμεγαλύνθη ἀνομία θυγατρὸς λαου̃ μου ὑπὲρ ἀνομίας Σοδομων τη̃ς κατεστραμμένης ὥσπερ σπουδη̨̃ καὶ οὐκ ἐπόνεσαν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ χει̃ρας (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃4 ויגדל עון בת עמי מחטאת סדם ההפוכה כמו רגע ולא חלו בה ידים ס (Ⅴ)

Candidiores Nazaræi ejus nive,/ nitidiores lacte,/ rubicundiores ebore antiquo,/ sapphiro pulchriores./
- Ses princes étaient plus éclatants que la neige, Plus blancs que le lait; Ils avaient le teint plus vermeil que le corail; Leur figure était comme le saphir. (Ⅱ) - Her Nazarites were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk, they were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was of sapphire: (Ⅲ) - ἐκαθαριώθησαν ναζιραι̃οι αὐτη̃ς ὑπὲρ χιόνα ἔλαμψαν ὑπὲρ γάλα ἐπυρρώθησαν ὑπὲρ λίθους σαπφείρου τὸ ἀπόσπασμα αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃4 זכו נזיריה משלג צחו מחלב אדמו עצם מפנינים ספיר גזרתם ס (Ⅴ)

Denigrata est super carbones facies eorum/ et non sunt cogniti in plateis ;/ adhæsit cutis eorum ossibus :/ aruit, et facta est quasi lignum./
- Leur aspect est plus sombre que le noir; On ne les reconnaît pas dans les rues; Ils ont la peau collée sur les os, Sèche comme du bois. (Ⅱ) - Their visage is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: their skin cleaveth to their bones; it is withered, it is become like a stick. (Ⅲ) - ἐσκότασεν ὑπὲρ ἀσβόλην τὸ εἰ̃δος αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἐπεγνώσθησαν ἐν ται̃ς ἐξόδοις ἐπάγη δέρμα αὐτω̃ν ἐπὶ τὰ ὀστέα αὐτω̃ν ἐξηράνθησαν ἐγενήθησαν ὥσπερ ξύλον (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃4 חשך משחור תארם לא נכרו בחוצות צפד עורם על עצמם יבש היה כעץ ס (Ⅴ)

Melius fuit occisis gladio/ quam interfectis fame,/ quoniam isti extabuerunt consumpti/ a sterilitate terræ./
- Ceux qui périssent par l'épée sont plus heureux Que ceux qui périssent par la faim, Qui tombent exténués, Privés du fruit des champs. (Ⅱ) - They that be slain with the sword are better than they that be slain with hunger: for these pine away, stricken through for want of the fruits of the field. (Ⅲ) - καλοὶ ἠ̃σαν οἱ τραυματίαι ῥομφαίας ἢ οἱ τραυματίαι λιμου̃ ἐπορεύθησαν ἐκκεκεντημένοι ἀπὸ γενημάτων ἀγρω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃4 טובים היו חללי חרב מחללי רעב שהם יזובו מדקרים מתנובת שדי ס (Ⅴ)

Manus mulierum misericordium/ coxerunt filios suos ;/ facti sunt cibus earum/ in contritione filiæ populi mei./
- Les femmes, malgré leur tendresse, Font cuire leurs enfants; Ils leur servent de nourriture, Au milieu du désastre de la fille de mon peuple. (Ⅱ) - The hands of the pitiful women have sodden their own children: they were their meat in the destruction of the daughter of my people. (Ⅲ) - χει̃ρες γυναικω̃ν οἰκτιρμόνων ἥψησαν τὰ παιδία αὐτω̃ν ἐγενήθησαν εἰς βρω̃σιν αὐται̃ς ἐν τω̨̃ συντρίμματι τη̃ς θυγατρὸς λαου̃ μου (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃4 ידי נשים רחמניות בשלו ילדיהן היו לברות למו בשבר בת עמי ס (Ⅴ)

Complevit Dominus furorem suum,/ effudit iram indignationis suæ :/ et succendit ignem in Sion,/ et devoravit fundamenta ejus./
- L'Éternel a épuisé sa fureur, Il a répandu son ardente colère; Il a allumé dans Sion un feu Qui en dévore les fondements. (Ⅱ) - The LORD hath accomplished his fury; he hath poured out his fierce anger, and hath kindled a fire in Zion, and it hath devoured the foundations thereof. (Ⅲ) - συνετέλεσεν κύριος θυμὸν αὐτου̃ ἐξέχεεν θυμὸν ὀργη̃ς αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνη̃ψεν πυ̃ρ ἐν Σιων καὶ κατέφαγεν τὰ θεμέλια αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃4 כלה יהוה את חמתו שפך חרון אפו ויצת אש בציון ותאכל יסודתיה ס (Ⅴ)

Non crediderunt reges terræ,/ et universi habitatores orbis,/ quoniam ingrederetur hostis et inimicus/ per portas Jerusalem./
- Les rois de la terre n'auraient pas cru, Aucun des habitants du monde n'aurait cru Que l'adversaire, que l'ennemi entrerait Dans les portes de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - The kings of the earth, and all the inhabitants of the world, would not have believed that the adversary and the enemy should have entered into the gates of Jerusalem. (Ⅲ) - οὐκ ἐπίστευσαν βασιλει̃ς γη̃ς πάντες οἱ κατοικου̃ντες τὴν οἰκουμένην ὅτι εἰσελεύσεται ἐχθρὸς καὶ ἐκθλίβων διὰ τω̃ν πυλω̃ν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃4 לא האמינו מלכי ארץ *וכל **כל ישבי תבל כי יבא צר ואויב בשערי ירושלם ס (Ⅴ)

Propter peccata prophetarum ejus,/ et iniquitates sacerdotum ejus,/ qui effuderunt in medio ejus/ sanguinem justorum./
- Voilà le fruit des péchés de ses prophètes, Des iniquités de ses sacrificateurs, Qui ont répandu dans son sein Le sang des justes! (Ⅱ) - For the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, that have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her, (Ⅲ) - ἐξ ἁμαρτιω̃ν προφητω̃ν αὐτη̃ς ἀδικιω̃ν ἱερέων αὐτη̃ς τω̃ν ἐκχεόντων αἱ̃μα δίκαιον ἐν μέσω̨ αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃4 מחטאת נביאיה עונות כהניה השפכים בקרבה דם צדיקים ס (Ⅴ)

Erraverunt cæci in plateis,/ polluti sunt in sanguine ;/ cumque non possent,/ tenuerunt lacinias suas./
- Ils erraient en aveugles dans les rues, Souillés de sang; On ne pouvait Toucher leurs vêtements. (Ⅱ) - They have wandered as blind men in the streets, they have polluted themselves with blood, so that men could not touch their garments. (Ⅲ) - ἐσαλεύθησαν ἐγρήγοροι αὐτη̃ς ἐν ται̃ς ἐξόδοις ἐμολύνθησαν ἐν αἵματι ἐν τω̨̃ μὴ δύνασθαι αὐτοὺς ἥψαντο ἐνδυμάτων αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃4 נעו עורים בחוצות נגאלו בדם בלא יוכלו יגעו בלבשיהם ס (Ⅴ)

Recedite polluti, clamaverunt eis ;/ recedite, abite, nolite tangere :/ jurgati quippe sunt, et commoti dixerunt inter gentes :/ Non addet ultra ut habitet in eis./
- Éloignez-vous, impurs! leur criait-on, Éloignez-vous, éloignez-vous, ne nous touchez pas! Ils sont en fuite, ils errent çà et là; On dit parmi les nations: Ils n'auront plus leur demeure! (Ⅱ) - They cried unto them, Depart ye; it is unclean; depart, depart, touch not: when they fled away and wandered, they said among the heathen, They shall no more sojourn there. (Ⅲ) - ἀπόστητε ἀκαθάρτων καλέσατε αὐτούς ἀπόστητε ἀπόστητε μὴ ἅπτεσθε ὅτι ἀνήφθησαν καί γε ἐσαλεύθησαν εἴπατε ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν οὐ μὴ προσθω̃σιν του̃ παροικει̃ν (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃4 סורו טמא קראו למו סורו סורו אל תגעו כי נצו גם נעו אמרו בגוים לא יוסיפו לגור ס (Ⅴ)

Facies Domini divisit eos,/ non addet ut respiciat eos ;/ facies sacerdotum non erubuerunt,/ neque senum miserti sunt./
- L'Éternel les a dispersés dans sa colère, Il ne tourne plus les regards vers eux; On n'a eu ni respect pour les sacrificateurs, Ni pitié pour les vieillards. (Ⅱ) - The anger of the LORD hath divided them; he will no more regard them: they respected not the persons of the priests, they favoured not the elders. (Ⅲ) - πρόσωπον κυρίου μερὶς αὐτω̃ν οὐ προσθήσει ἐπιβλέψαι αὐτοι̃ς πρόσωπον ἱερέων οὐκ ἔλαβον πρεσβύτας οὐκ ἠλέησαν (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃4 פני יהוה חלקם לא יוסיף להביטם פני כהנים לא נשאו *זקנים **וזקנים[a] לא חננו ס (Ⅴ)

Cum adhuc subsisteremus, defecerunt oculi nostri/ ad auxilium nostrum vanum ;/ cum respiceremus attenti ad gentem/ quæ salvare non poterat./
- Nos yeux se consumaient encore, Et nous attendions vainement du secours; Nos regards se portaient avec espérance Vers une nation qui ne nous a pas délivrés. (Ⅱ) - As for us, our eyes as yet failed for our vain help: in our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save us. (Ⅲ) - ἔτι ὄντων ἡμω̃ν ἐξέλιπον οἱ ὀφθαλμοὶ ἡμω̃ν εἰς τὴν βοήθειαν ἡμω̃ν μάταια ἀποσκοπευόντων ἡμω̃ν ἀπεσκοπεύσαμεν εἰς ἔθνος οὐ σω̨̃ζον (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃4 *עודינה **עודינו תכלינה עינינו אל עזרתנו הבל בצפיתנו צפינו אל גוי לא יושע ס (Ⅴ)

Lubricaverunt vestigia nostra/ in itinere platearum nostrarum ;/ appropinquavit finis noster, completi sunt dies nostri,/ quia venit finis noster./
- On épiait nos pas, Pour nous empêcher d'aller sur nos places; Notre fin s'approchait, nos jours étaient accomplis... Notre fin est arrivée! (Ⅱ) - They hunt our steps, that we cannot go in our streets: our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end is come. (Ⅲ) - ἐθηρεύσαμεν μικροὺς ἡμω̃ν του̃ μὴ πορεύεσθαι ἐν ται̃ς πλατείαις ἡμω̃ν ἤγγικεν ὁ καιρὸς ἡμω̃ν ἐπληρώθησαν αἱ ἡμέραι ἡμω̃ν πάρεστιν ὁ καιρὸς ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃4 צדו צעדינו מלכת ברחבתינו קרב קצינו מלאו ימינו כי בא קצינו ס (Ⅴ)

Velociores fuerunt persecutores nostri/ aquilis cæli ;/ super montes persecuti sunt nos,/ in deserto insidiati sunt nobis./
- Nos persécuteurs étaient plus légers Que les aigles du ciel; Ils nous ont poursuivis sur les montagnes, Ils nous ont dressé des embûches dans le désert. (Ⅱ) - Our persecutors are swifter than the eagles of the heaven: they pursued us upon the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness. (Ⅲ) - κου̃φοι ἐγένοντο οἱ διώκοντες ἡμα̃ς ὑπὲρ ἀετοὺς οὐρανου̃ ἐπὶ τω̃ν ὀρέων ἐξήφθησαν ἐν ἐρήμω̨ ἐνήδρευσαν ἡμα̃ς (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃4 קלים היו רדפינו מנשרי שמים על ההרים דלקנו במדבר ארבו לנו ס (Ⅴ)

Spiritus oris nostri, christus Dominus,/ captus est in peccatis nostris,/ cui diximus : In umbra tua/ vivemus in gentibus./
- Celui qui nous faisait respirer, l'oint de l'Éternel, A été pris dans leurs fosses, Lui de qui nous disions: Nous vivrons sous son ombre parmi les nations. (Ⅱ) - The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of the LORD, was taken in their pits, of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the heathen. (Ⅲ) - πνευ̃μα προσώπου ἡμω̃ν χριστὸς κυρίου συνελήμφθη ἐν ται̃ς διαφθοραι̃ς αὐτω̃ν οὑ̃ εἴπαμεν ἐν τη̨̃ σκια̨̃ αὐτου̃ ζησόμεθα ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃4 רוח אפינו משיח יהוה נלכד בשחיתותם אשר אמרנו בצלו נחיה בגוים ס (Ⅴ)

Gaude et lætare, filia Edom,/ quæ habitas in terra Hus !/ ad te quoque perveniet calix : inebriaberis,/ atque nudaberis./
- Réjouis-toi, tressaille d'allégresse, fille d'Édom, Habitante du pays d'Uts! Vers toi aussi passera la coupe; Tu t'enivreras, et tu seras mise à nu. (Ⅱ) - Rejoice and be glad, O daughter of Edom, that dwellest in the land of Uz; the cup also shall pass through unto thee: thou shalt be drunken, and shalt make thyself naked. (Ⅲ) - χαι̃ρε καὶ εὐφραίνου θύγατερ Ιδουμαίας ἡ κατοικου̃σα ἐπὶ γη̃ς καί γε ἐπὶ σὲ διελεύσεται τὸ ποτήριον κυρίου καὶ μεθυσθήση̨ καὶ ἀποχεει̃ς (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃4 שישי ושמחי בת אדום *יושבתי **יושבת בארץ עוץ גם עליך תעבר כוס תשכרי ותתערי ס (Ⅴ)

Completa est iniquitas tua, filia Sion :/ non addet ultra ut transmigret te./ Visitavit iniquitatem tuam, filia Edom ;/ discooperuit peccata tua.]
- Fille de Sion, ton iniquité est expiée; Il ne t'enverra plus en captivité. Fille d'Édom, il châtiera ton iniquité, Il mettra tes péchés à découvert. (Ⅱ) - The punishment of thine iniquity is accomplished, O daughter of Zion; he will no more carry thee away into captivity: he will visit thine iniquity, O daughter of Edom; he will discover thy sins. (Ⅲ) - ἐξέλιπεν ἡ ἀνομία σου θύγατερ Σιων οὐ προσθήσει ἔτι ἀποικίσαι σε ἐπεσκέψατο ἀνομίας σου θύγατερ Εδωμ ἀπεκάλυψεν ἐπὶ τὰ ἀσεβήματά σου (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃4 תם עונך בת ציון לא יוסיף להגלותך פקד עונך בת אדום גלה על חטאתיך פ (Ⅴ)
