Tunc Jesus ductus est in desertum a Spiritu, ut tentaretur a diabolo.
- Alors Jésus fut emmené par l'Esprit dans le désert, pour être tenté par le diable. (Ⅱ) - Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. (Ⅲ) - Τότε ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἀνήχθη εἰς τὴν ἔρημον ὑπὸ τοῦ πνεύματος, πειρασθῆναι ὑπὸ τοῦ διαβόλου. (Ⅳ)

Et cum jejunasset quadraginta diebus, et quadraginta noctibus, postea esuriit.
- Après avoir jeûné quarante jours et quarante nuits, il eut faim. (Ⅱ) - And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred. (Ⅲ) - καὶ νηστεύσας ἡμέρας τεσσεράκοντα καὶ νύκτας τεσσεράκοντα ὕστερον ἐπείνασεν. (Ⅳ)

Et accedens tentator dixit ei : Si Filius Dei es, dic ut lapides isti panes fiant.
- Le tentateur, s'étant approché, lui dit: Si tu es Fils de Dieu, ordonne que ces pierres deviennent des pains. (Ⅱ) - And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. (Ⅲ) - καὶ προσελθὼν ⸂ὁ πειράζων εἶπεν αὐτῷ⸃· Εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, εἰπὲ ἵνα οἱ λίθοι οὗτοι ἄρτοι γένωνται. (Ⅳ)

Qui respondens dixit : Scriptum est : Non in solo pane vivit homo, sed in omni verbo, quod procedit de ore Dei.
- Jésus répondit: Il est écrit: L'homme ne vivra pas de pain seulement, mais de toute parole qui sort de la bouche de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God. (Ⅲ) - ὁ δὲ ἀποκριθεὶς εἶπεν· Γέγραπται· Οὐκ ἐπ’ ἄρτῳ μόνῳ ζήσεται ⸀ὁ ἄνθρωπος, ἀλλ’ ⸀ἐπὶ παντὶ ῥήματι ἐκπορευομένῳ διὰ στόματος θεοῦ. (Ⅳ)

Tunc assumpsit eum diabolus in sanctam civitatem, et statuit eum super pinnaculum templi,
- Le diable le transporta dans la ville sainte, le plaça sur le haut du temple, (Ⅱ) - Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, (Ⅲ) - Τότε παραλαμβάνει αὐτὸν ὁ διάβολος εἰς τὴν ἁγίαν πόλιν, καὶ ⸀ἔστησεν αὐτὸν ἐπὶ τὸ πτερύγιον τοῦ ἱεροῦ, (Ⅳ)

et dixit ei : Si Filius Dei es, mitte te deorsum. Scriptum est enim : Quia angelis suis mandavit de te, et in manibus tollent te, ne forte offendas ad lapidem pedem tuum.
- et lui dit: Si tu es Fils de Dieu, jette-toi en bas; car il est écrit: Il donnera des ordres à ses anges à ton sujet; Et ils te porteront sur les mains, De peur que ton pied ne heurte contre une pierre. (Ⅱ) - And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone. (Ⅲ) - καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Εἰ υἱὸς εἶ τοῦ θεοῦ, βάλε σεαυτὸν κάτω· γέγραπται γὰρ ὅτι Τοῖς ἀγγέλοις αὐτοῦ ἐντελεῖται περὶ σοῦ καὶ ἐπὶ χειρῶν ἀροῦσίν σε, μήποτε προσκόψῃς πρὸς λίθον τὸν πόδα σου. (Ⅳ)

Ait illi Jesus : Rursum scriptum est : Non tentabis Dominum Deum tuum.
- Jésus lui dit: Il est aussi écrit: Tu ne tenteras point le Seigneur, ton Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God. (Ⅲ) - ἔφη αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Πάλιν γέγραπται· Οὐκ ἐκπειράσεις κύριον τὸν θεόν σου. (Ⅳ)

Iterum assumpsit eum diabolus in montem excelsum valde : et ostendit ei omnia regna mundi, et gloriam eorum,
- Le diable le transporta encore sur une montagne très élevée, lui montra tous les royaumes du monde et leur gloire, (Ⅱ) - Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; (Ⅲ) - Πάλιν παραλαμβάνει αὐτὸν ὁ διάβολος εἰς ὄρος ὑψηλὸν λίαν, καὶ δείκνυσιν αὐτῷ πάσας τὰς βασιλείας τοῦ κόσμου καὶ τὴν δόξαν αὐτῶν (Ⅳ)

et dixit ei : Hæc omnia tibi dabo, si cadens adoraveris me.
- et lui dit: Je te donnerai toutes ces choses, si tu te prosternes et m'adores. (Ⅱ) - And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ⸀εἶπεν αὐτῷ· Ταῦτά ⸂σοι πάντα⸃ δώσω, ἐὰν πεσὼν προσκυνήσῃς μοι. (Ⅳ)

Tunc dicit ei Jesus : Vade Satana : Scriptum est enim : Dominum Deum tuum adorabis, et illi soli servies.
- Jésus lui dit: Retire-toi, Satan! Car il est écrit: Tu adoreras le Seigneur, ton Dieu, et tu le serviras lui seul. (Ⅱ) - Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. (Ⅲ) - τότε λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· ⸀Ὕπαγε, Σατανᾶ· γέγραπται γάρ· Κύριον τὸν θεόν σου προσκυνήσεις καὶ αὐτῷ μόνῳ λατρεύσεις. (Ⅳ)

Tunc reliquit eum diabolus : et ecce angeli accesserunt, et ministrabant ei.\
- Alors le diable le laissa. Et voici, des anges vinrent auprès de Jésus, et le servaient. (Ⅱ) - Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him. (Ⅲ) - τότε ἀφίησιν αὐτὸν ὁ διάβολος, καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγελοι προσῆλθον καὶ διηκόνουν αὐτῷ. (Ⅳ)

Cum autem audisset Jesus quod Joannes traditus esset, secessit in Galilæam :
- Jésus, ayant appris que Jean avait été livré, se retira dans la Galilée. (Ⅱ) - Now when Jesus had heard that John was cast into prison, he departed into Galilee; (Ⅲ) - Ἀκούσας ⸀δὲ ὅτι Ἰωάννης παρεδόθη ἀνεχώρησεν εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν. (Ⅳ)

et, relicta civitate Nazareth, venit, et habitavit in Capharnaum maritima, in finibus Zabulon et Nephthalim :
- Il quitta Nazareth, et vint demeurer à Capernaüm, située près de la mer, dans le territoire de Zabulon et de Nephthali, (Ⅱ) - And leaving Nazareth, he came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is upon the sea coast, in the borders of Zabulon and Nephthalim: (Ⅲ) - καὶ καταλιπὼν τὴν Ναζαρὰ ἐλθὼν κατῴκησεν εἰς Καφαρναοὺμ τὴν παραθαλασσίαν ἐν ὁρίοις Ζαβουλὼν καὶ Νεφθαλίμ· (Ⅳ)

ut adimpleretur quod dictum est per Isaiam prophetam :
- afin que s'accomplît ce qui avait été annoncé par Ésaïe, le prophète: (Ⅱ) - That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, (Ⅲ) - ἵνα πληρωθῇ τὸ ῥηθὲν διὰ Ἠσαΐου τοῦ προφήτου λέγοντος· (Ⅳ)

- Le peuple de Zabulon et de Nephthali, De la contrée voisine de la mer, du pays au delà du Jourdain, Et de la Galilée des Gentils, (Ⅱ) - The land of Zabulon, and the land of Nephthalim, by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles; (Ⅲ) - Γῆ Ζαβουλὼν καὶ γῆ Νεφθαλίμ, ὁδὸν θαλάσσης, πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου, Γαλιλαία τῶν ἐθνῶν, (Ⅳ)

populus, qui sedebat in tenebris,/ vidit lucem magnam :/ et sedentibus in regione umbræ mortis,/ lux orta est eis.]
- Ce peuple, assis dans les ténèbres, A vu une grande lumière; Et sur ceux qui étaient assis dans la région et l'ombre de la mort La lumière s'est levée. (Ⅱ) - The people which sat in darkness saw great light; and to them which sat in the region and shadow of death light is sprung up. (Ⅲ) - ὁ λαὸς ὁ καθήμενος ἐν ⸀σκοτίᾳ ⸂φῶς εἶδεν⸃ μέγα, καὶ τοῖς καθημένοις ἐν χώρᾳ καὶ σκιᾷ θανάτου φῶς ἀνέτειλεν αὐτοῖς. (Ⅳ)

Exinde cœpit Jesus prædicare, et dicere : Pœnitentiam agite : appropinquavit enim regnum cælorum.\
- Dès ce moment Jésus commença à prêcher, et à dire: Repentez-vous, car le royaume des cieux est proche. (Ⅱ) - From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. (Ⅲ) - Ἀπὸ τότε ἤρξατο ὁ Ἰησοῦς κηρύσσειν καὶ λέγειν· Μετανοεῖτε, ἤγγικεν γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν. (Ⅳ)

Ambulans autem Jesus juxta mare Galilææ, vidit duos fratres, Simonem, qui vocatur Petrus, et Andream fratrem ejus, mittentes rete in mare (erant enim piscatores),
- Comme il marchait le long de la mer de Galilée, il vit deux frères, Simon, appelé Pierre, et André, son frère, qui jetaient un filet dans la mer; car ils étaient pêcheurs. (Ⅱ) - And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. (Ⅲ) - Περιπατῶν δὲ παρὰ τὴν θάλασσαν τῆς Γαλιλαίας εἶδεν δύο ἀδελφούς, Σίμωνα τὸν λεγόμενον Πέτρον καὶ Ἀνδρέαν τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ, βάλλοντας ἀμφίβληστρον εἰς τὴν θάλασσαν, ἦσαν γὰρ ἁλιεῖς· (Ⅳ)

et ait illis : Venite post me, et faciam vos fieri piscatores hominum.
- Il leur dit: Suivez-moi, et je vous ferai pêcheurs d'hommes. (Ⅱ) - And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men. (Ⅲ) - καὶ λέγει αὐτοῖς· Δεῦτε ὀπίσω μου, καὶ ποιήσω ὑμᾶς ἁλιεῖς ἀνθρώπων. (Ⅳ)

At illi continuo relictis retibus secuti sunt eum.
- Aussitôt, ils laissèrent les filets, et le suivirent. (Ⅱ) - And they straightway left their nets, and followed him. (Ⅲ) - οἱ δὲ εὐθέως ἀφέντες τὰ δίκτυα ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ. (Ⅳ)

Et procedens inde, vidit alios duos fratres, Jacobum Zebedæi, et Joannem fratrem ejus, in navi cum Zebedæo patre eorum, reficientes retia sua : et vocavit eos.
- De là étant allé plus loin, il vit deux autres frères, Jacques, fils de Zébédée, et Jean, son frère, qui étaient dans une barque avec Zébédée, leur père, et qui réparaient leurs filets. (Ⅱ) - And going on from thence, he saw other two brethren, James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother, in a ship with Zebedee their father, mending their nets; and he called them. (Ⅲ) - Καὶ προβὰς ἐκεῖθεν εἶδεν ἄλλους δύο ἀδελφούς, Ἰάκωβον τὸν τοῦ Ζεβεδαίου καὶ Ἰωάννην τὸν ἀδελφὸν αὐτοῦ, ἐν τῷ πλοίῳ μετὰ Ζεβεδαίου τοῦ πατρὸς αὐτῶν καταρτίζοντας τὰ δίκτυα αὐτῶν, καὶ ἐκάλεσεν αὐτούς. (Ⅳ)

Illi autem statim relictis retibus et patre, secuti sunt eum.
- Il les appela, et aussitôt ils laissèrent la barque et leur père, et le suivirent. (Ⅱ) - And they immediately left the ship and their father, and followed him. (Ⅲ) - οἱ δὲ εὐθέως ἀφέντες τὸ πλοῖον καὶ τὸν πατέρα αὐτῶν ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ. (Ⅳ)

Et circuibat Jesus totam Galilæam, docens in synagogis eorum, et prædicans Evangelium regni : et sanans omnem languorem, et omnem infirmitatem in populo.
- Jésus parcourait toute la Galilée, enseignant dans les synagogues, prêchant la bonne nouvelle du royaume, et guérissant toute maladie et toute infirmité parmi le peuple. (Ⅱ) - And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people. (Ⅲ) - Καὶ περιῆγεν ⸂ἐν ὅλῃ τῇ Γαλιλαίᾳ⸃, διδάσκων ἐν ταῖς συναγωγαῖς αὐτῶν καὶ κηρύσσων τὸ εὐαγγέλιον τῆς βασιλείας καὶ θεραπεύων πᾶσαν νόσον καὶ πᾶσαν μαλακίαν ἐν τῷ λαῷ. (Ⅳ)

Et abiit opinio ejus in totam Syriam, et obtulerunt ei omnes male habentes, variis languoribus, et tormentis comprehensos, et qui dæmonia habebant, et lunaticos, et paralyticos, et curavit eos :
- Sa renommée se répandit dans toute la Syrie, et on lui amenait tous ceux qui souffraient de maladies et de douleurs de divers genres, des démoniaques, des lunatiques, des paralytiques; et il les guérissait. (Ⅱ) - And his fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and he healed them. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἀπῆλθεν ἡ ἀκοὴ αὐτοῦ εἰς ὅλην τὴν Συρίαν· καὶ προσήνεγκαν αὐτῷ πάντας τοὺς κακῶς ἔχοντας ποικίλαις νόσοις καὶ βασάνοις ⸀συνεχομένους, δαιμονιζομένους καὶ σεληνιαζομένους καὶ παραλυτικούς, καὶ ἐθεράπευσεν αὐτούς. (Ⅳ)

et secutæ sunt eum turbæ multæ de Galilæa, et Decapoli, et de Jerosolymis, et de Judæa, et de trans Jordanem.
- Une grande foule le suivit, de la Galilée, de la Décapole, de Jérusalem, de la Judée, et d'au delà du Jourdain. (Ⅱ) - And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ἠκολούθησαν αὐτῷ ὄχλοι πολλοὶ ἀπὸ τῆς Γαλιλαίας καὶ Δεκαπόλεως καὶ Ἱεροσολύμων καὶ Ἰουδαίας καὶ πέραν τοῦ Ἰορδάνου. (Ⅳ)
