Spiritus autem manifeste dicit, quia in novissimis temporibus discedent quidam a fide, attendentes spiritibus erroris, et doctrinis dæmoniorum,
- Mais l'Esprit dit expressément que, dans les derniers temps, quelques-uns abandonneront la foi, pour s'attacher à des esprits séducteurs et à des doctrines de démons, (Ⅱ) - Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; (Ⅲ) - Τὸ δὲ πνεῦμα ῥητῶς λέγει ὅτι ἐν ὑστέροις καιροῖς ἀποστήσονταί τινες τῆς πίστεως, προσέχοντες πνεύμασι πλάνοις καὶ διδασκαλίαις δαιμονίων (Ⅳ)

prohibentium nubere, abstinere a cibis, quod Deus creavit ad percipiendum cum gratiarum actione fidelibus, et iis qui cognoverunt veritatem.
- prescrivant de ne pas se marier, et de s'abstenir d'aliments que Dieu a créés pour qu'ils soient pris avec actions de grâces par ceux qui sont fidèles et qui ont connu la vérité. (Ⅱ) - Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. (Ⅲ) - κωλυόντων γαμεῖν, ἀπέχεσθαι βρωμάτων ἃ ὁ θεὸς ἔκτισεν εἰς μετάλημψιν μετὰ εὐχαριστίας τοῖς πιστοῖς καὶ ἐπεγνωκόσι τὴν ἀλήθειαν. (Ⅳ)

Quia omnis creatura Dei bona est, et nihil rejiciendum quod cum gratiarum actione percipitur :
- Car tout ce que Dieu a créé est bon, et rien ne doit être rejeté, pourvu qu'on le prenne avec actions de grâces, (Ⅱ) - For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving: (Ⅲ) - ὅτι πᾶν κτίσμα θεοῦ καλόν, καὶ οὐδὲν ἀπόβλητον μετὰ εὐχαριστίας λαμβανόμενον, (Ⅳ)

- parce que tout est sanctifié par la parole de Dieu et par la prière. (Ⅱ) - For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer. (Ⅲ) - ἁγιάζεται γὰρ διὰ λόγου θεοῦ καὶ ἐντεύξεως. (Ⅳ)

Hæc proponens fratribus, bonus eris minister Christi Jesu enutritus verbis fidei, et bonæ doctrinæ, quam assecutus es.
- En exposant ces choses au frères, tu seras un bon ministre de Jésus Christ, nourri des paroles de la foi et de la bonne doctrine que tu as exactement suivie. (Ⅱ) - If thou put the brethren in remembrance of these things, thou shalt be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and of good doctrine, whereunto thou hast attained. (Ⅲ) - Ταῦτα ὑποτιθέμενος τοῖς ἀδελφοῖς καλὸς ἔσῃ διάκονος ⸂Χριστοῦ Ἰησοῦ⸃, ἐντρεφόμενος τοῖς λόγοις τῆς πίστεως καὶ τῆς καλῆς διδασκαλίας ᾗ παρηκολούθηκας, (Ⅳ)

Ineptas autem, et aniles fabulas devita : exerce autem teipsum ad pietatem.
- Repousse les contes profanes et absurdes. (Ⅱ) - But refuse profane and old wives' fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. (Ⅲ) - τοὺς δὲ βεβήλους καὶ γραώδεις μύθους παραιτοῦ. γύμναζε δὲ σεαυτὸν πρὸς εὐσέβειαν· (Ⅳ)

Nam corporalis exercitatio, ad modicum utilis est : pietas autem ad omnia utilis est, promissionem habens vitæ, quæ nunc est, et futuræ.
- Exerce-toi à la piété; car l'exercice corporel est utile à peu de chose, tandis que la piété est utile à tout, ayant la promesse de la vie présente et de celle qui est à venir. (Ⅱ) - For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. (Ⅲ) - ἡ γὰρ σωματικὴ γυμνασία πρὸς ὀλίγον ἐστὶν ὠφέλιμος, ἡ δὲ εὐσέβεια πρὸς πάντα ὠφέλιμός ἐστιν, ἐπαγγελίαν ἔχουσα ζωῆς τῆς νῦν καὶ τῆς μελλούσης. (Ⅳ)

Fidelis sermo, et omni acceptione dignus.
- C'est là une parole certaine et entièrement digne d'être reçue. (Ⅱ) - This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptation. (Ⅲ) - πιστὸς ὁ λόγος καὶ πάσης ἀποδοχῆς ἄξιος, (Ⅳ)

In hoc enim laboramus, et maledicimur, quia speramus in Deum vivum, qui est Salvator omnium hominum, maxime fidelium.
- Nous travaillons, en effet, et nous combattons, parce que nous mettons notre espérance dans le Dieu vivant, qui est le Sauveur de tous les hommes, principalement des croyants. (Ⅱ) - For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe. (Ⅲ) - εἰς τοῦτο ⸀γὰρ κοπιῶμεν καὶ ⸀ὀνειδιζόμεθα, ὅτι ἠλπίκαμεν ἐπὶ θεῷ ζῶντι, ὅς ἐστιν σωτὴρ πάντων ἀνθρώπων, μάλιστα πιστῶν. (Ⅳ)

Præcipe hæc, et doce.
- Déclare ces choses, et enseigne-les. (Ⅱ) - These things command and teach. (Ⅲ) - Παράγγελλε ταῦτα καὶ δίδασκε. (Ⅳ)

Nemo adolescentiam tuam contemnat : sed exemplum esto fidelium in verbo, in conversatione, in caritate, in fide, in castitate.
- Que personne ne méprise ta jeunesse; mais sois un modèle pour les fidèles, en parole, en conduite, en charité, en foi, en pureté. (Ⅱ) - Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity. (Ⅲ) - μηδείς σου τῆς νεότητος καταφρονείτω, ἀλλὰ τύπος γίνου τῶν πιστῶν ἐν λόγῳ, ἐν ἀναστροφῇ, ἐν ⸀ἀγάπῃ, ἐν πίστει, ἐν ἁγνείᾳ. (Ⅳ)

Dum venio, attende lectioni, exhortationi, et doctrinæ.
- Jusqu'à ce que je vienne, applique-toi à la lecture, à l'exhortation, à l'enseignement. (Ⅱ) - Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine. (Ⅲ) - ἕως ἔρχομαι πρόσεχε τῇ ἀναγνώσει, τῇ παρακλήσει, τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ. (Ⅳ)

Noli negligere gratiam, quæ in te est, quæ data est tibi per prophetiam, cum impositione manuum presbyterii.
- Ne néglige pas le don qui est en toi, et qui t'a été donné par prophétie avec l'imposition des mains de l'assemblée des anciens. (Ⅱ) - Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery. (Ⅲ) - μὴ ἀμέλει τοῦ ἐν σοὶ χαρίσματος, ὃ ἐδόθη σοι διὰ προφητείας μετὰ ἐπιθέσεως τῶν χειρῶν τοῦ πρεσβυτερίου. (Ⅳ)

Hæc meditare, in his esto : ut profectus tuus manifestus sit omnibus.
- Occupe-toi de ces choses, donne-toi tout entier à elles, afin que tes progrès soient évidents pour tous. (Ⅱ) - Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all. (Ⅲ) - ταῦτα μελέτα, ἐν τούτοις ἴσθι, ἵνα σου ἡ προκοπὴ φανερὰ ⸀ᾖ πᾶσιν· (Ⅳ)

Attende tibi, et doctrinæ : insta in illis. Hoc enim faciens, et teipsum salvum facies, et eos qui te audiunt.
- Veille sur toi-même et sur ton enseignement; persévère dans ces choses, car, en agissant ainsi, tu te sauveras toi-même, et tu sauveras ceux qui t'écoutent. (Ⅱ) - Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee. (Ⅲ) - ἔπεχε σεαυτῷ καὶ τῇ διδασκαλίᾳ· ἐπίμενε αὐτοῖς· τοῦτο γὰρ ποιῶν καὶ σεαυτὸν σώσεις καὶ τοὺς ἀκούοντάς σου. (Ⅳ)
