If thou wilt return, O Israel, saith the LORD, return unto me: and if thou wilt put away thine abominations out of my sight, then shalt thou not remove.
- Israël, si tu reviens, si tu reviens à moi, dit l'Éternel, Si tu ôtes tes abominations de devant moi, Tu ne seras plus errant. (Ⅱ) - ἐὰν ἐπιστραφη̨̃ Ισραηλ λέγει κύριος πρός με ἐπιστραφήσεται ἐὰν περιέλη̨ τὰ βδελύγματα αὐτου̃ ἐκ στόματος αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπὸ του̃ προσώπου μου εὐλαβηθη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Si reverteris, Israël, ait Dominus,/ ad me convertere :/ si abstuleris offendicula tua a facie mea,/ non commoveberis./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃4 אם תשוב ישראל נאם יהוה אלי תשוב ואם תסיר שקוציך מפני ולא תנוד (Ⅴ)

And thou shalt swear, The LORD liveth, in truth, in judgment, and in righteousness; and the nations shall bless themselves in him, and in him shall they glory.
- Si tu jures: L'Éternel est vivant! Avec vérité, avec droiture et avec justice, Alors les nations seront bénies en lui, Et se glorifieront en lui. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὀμόση̨ ζη̨̃ κύριος μετὰ ἀληθείας καὶ ἐν κρίσει καὶ ἐν δικαιοσύνη̨ καὶ εὐλογήσουσιν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ἔθνη καὶ ἐν αὐτω̨̃ αἰνέσουσιν τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - Et jurabis : Vivit Dominus in veritate, et in judicio, et in justitia :/ et benedicent eum gentes,/ ipsumque laudabunt./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃4 ונשבעת חי יהוה באמת במשפט ובצדקה והתברכו בו גוים ובו יתהללו ס (Ⅴ)

For thus saith the LORD to the men of Judah and Jerusalem, Break up your fallow ground, and sow not among thorns.
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel aux hommes de Juda et de Jérusalem: Défrichez-vous un champ nouveau, Et ne semez pas parmi les épines. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι τάδε λέγει κύριος τοι̃ς ἀνδράσιν Ιουδα καὶ τοι̃ς κατοικου̃σιν Ιερουσαλημ νεώσατε ἑαυτοι̃ς νεώματα καὶ μὴ σπείρητε ἐπ' ἀκάνθαις (Ⅲ) - Hæc enim dicit Dominus viro Juda et Jerusalem :/ Novate vobis novale,/ et nolite serere super spinas./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃4 כי כה אמר יהוה לאיש יהודה ולירושלם נירו לכם ניר ואל תזרעו אל קוצים (Ⅴ)

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.
- Circoncisez-vous pour l'Éternel, circoncisez vos coeurs, Hommes de Juda et habitants de Jérusalem, De peur que ma colère n'éclate comme un feu, Et ne s'enflamme, sans qu'on puisse l'éteindre, A cause de la méchanceté de vos actions. (Ⅱ) - περιτμήθητε τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ὑμω̃ν καὶ περιτέμεσθε τὴν σκληροκαρδίαν ὑμω̃ν ἄνδρες Ιουδα καὶ οἱ κατοικου̃ντες Ιερουσαλημ μὴ ἐξέλθη̨ ὡς πυ̃ρ ὁ θυμός μου καὶ ἐκκαυθήσεται καὶ οὐκ ἔσται ὁ σβέσων ἀπὸ προσώπου πονηρίας ἐπιτηδευμάτων ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Circumcidimini Domino,/ et auferte præputia cordium vestrorum,/ viri Juda, et habitatores Jerusalem :/ ne forte egrediatur ut ignis indignatio mea,/ et succendatur, et non sit qui extinguat,/ propter malitiam cogitationum vestrarum.]\ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃4 המלו ליהוה והסרו ערלות לבבכם איש יהודה וישבי ירושלם פן תצא כאש חמתי ובערה ואין מכבה מפני רע מעלליכם (Ⅴ)

Declare ye in Judah, and publish in Jerusalem; and say, Blow ye the trumpet in the land: cry, gather together, and say, Assemble yourselves, and let us go into the defenced cities.
- Annoncez en Juda, publiez à Jérusalem, Et dites: Sonnez de la trompette dans le pays! Criez à pleine voix, et dites: Rassemblez-vous, et allons dans les villes fortes! (Ⅱ) - ἀναγγείλατε ἐν τω̨̃ Ιουδα καὶ ἀκουσθήτω ἐν Ιερουσαλημ εἴπατε σημάνατε ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς σάλπιγγι καὶ κεκράξατε μέγα εἴπατε συνάχθητε καὶ εἰσέλθωμεν εἰς τὰς πόλεις τὰς τειχήρεις (Ⅲ) - Annuntiate in Juda, et in Jerusalem auditum facite :/ loquimini, et canite tuba in terra,/ clamate fortiter, et dicite :/ Congregamini, et ingrediamur civitates munitas./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃4 הגידו ביהודה ובירושלם השמיעו ואמרו *ותקעו **תקעו שופר בארץ קראו מלאו ואמרו האספו ונבואה אל ערי המבצר (Ⅴ)

Set up the standard toward Zion: retire, stay not: for I will bring evil from the north, and a great destruction.
- Élevez une bannière vers Sion, Fuyez, ne vous arrêtez pas! Car je fais venir du septentrion le malheur Et un grand désastre. (Ⅱ) - ἀναλαβόντες φεύγετε εἰς Σιων σπεύσατε μὴ στη̃τε ὅτι κακὰ ἐγὼ ἐπάγω ἀπὸ βορρα̃ καὶ συντριβὴν μεγάλην (Ⅲ) - Levate signum in Sion ;/ confortamini, nolite stare :/ quia malum ego adduco ab aquilone,/ et contritionem magnam./ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃4 שאו נס ציונה העיזו אל תעמדו כי רעה אנכי מביא מצפון ושבר גדול (Ⅴ)

The lion is come up from his thicket, and the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way; he is gone forth from his place to make thy land desolate; and thy cities shall be laid waste, without an inhabitant.
- Le lion s'élance de son taillis, Le destructeur des nations est en marche, il a quitté son lieu, Pour ravager ton pays; Tes villes seront ruinées, il n'y aura plus d'habitants. (Ⅱ) - ἀνέβη λέων ἐκ τη̃ς μάνδρας αὐτου̃ ἐξολεθρεύων ἔθνη ἐξη̃ρεν καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν ἐκ του̃ τόπου αὐτου̃ του̃ θει̃ναι τὴν γη̃ν εἰς ἐρήμωσιν καὶ πόλεις καθαιρεθήσονται παρὰ τὸ μὴ κατοικει̃σθαι αὐτάς (Ⅲ) - Ascendit leo de cubili suo,/ et prædo gentium se levavit :/ egressus est de loco suo ut ponat terram tuam in solitudinem :/ civitates tuæ vastabuntur,/ remanentes absque habitatore./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃4 עלה אריה מסבכו ומשחית גוים נסע יצא ממקמו לשום ארצך לשמה עריך תצינה מאין יושב (Ⅴ)

For this gird you with sackcloth, lament and howl: for the fierce anger of the LORD is not turned back from us.
- C'est pourquoi couvrez-vous de sacs, pleurez et gémissez; Car la colère ardente de l'Éternel ne se détourne pas de nous. (Ⅱ) - ἐπὶ τούτοις περιζώσασθε σάκκους καὶ κόπτεσθε καὶ ἀλαλάξατε διότι οὐκ ἀπεστράφη ὁ θυμὸς κυρίου ἀφ' ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Super hoc accingite vos ciliciis ;/ plangite, et ululate :/ quia non est aversa ira furoris Domini a nobis./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃4 על זאת חגרו שקים ספדו והילילו כי לא שב חרון אף יהוה ממנו פ (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass at that day, saith the LORD, that the heart of the king shall perish, and the heart of the princes; and the priests shall be astonished, and the prophets shall wonder.
- En ce jour-là, dit l'Éternel, Le roi et les chefs perdront courage, Les sacrificateurs seront étonnés, Et les prophètes stupéfaits. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνη̨ τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ λέγει κύριος ἀπολει̃ται ἡ καρδία του̃ βασιλέως καὶ ἡ καρδία τω̃ν ἀρχόντων καὶ οἱ ἱερει̃ς ἐκστήσονται καὶ οἱ προφη̃ται θαυμάσονται (Ⅲ) - Et erit in die illa, dicit Dominus :/ peribit cor regis, et cor principum,/ et obstupescent sacerdotes,/ et prophetæ consternabuntur.] (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃4 והיה ביום ההוא נאם יהוה יאבד לב המלך ולב השרים ונשמו הכהנים והנביאים יתמהו (Ⅴ)

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! surely thou hast greatly deceived this people and Jerusalem, saying, Ye shall have peace; whereas the sword reacheth unto the soul.
- Je dis: Ah! Seigneur Éternel! Tu as donc trompé ce peuple et Jérusalem, en disant: Vous aurez la paix! Et cependant l'épée menace leur vie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πα ὠ̃ δέσποτα κύριε ἄρα γε ἀπατω̃ν ἠπάτησας τὸν λαὸν του̃τον καὶ τὴν Ιερουσαλημ λέγων εἰρήνη ἔσται ὑμι̃ν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἥψατο ἡ μάχαιρα ἕως τη̃ς ψυχη̃ς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et dixi : [Heu ! heu ! heu ! Domine Deus,/ ergone decepisti populum istum et Jerusalem,/ dicens : Pax erit vobis :/ et ecce pervenit gladius usque ad animam ?] (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃4 ואמר אהה אדני יהוה אכן השא השאת לעם הזה ולירושלם לאמר שלום יהיה לכם ונגעה חרב עד הנפש (Ⅴ)

At that time shall it be said to this people and to Jerusalem, A dry wind of the high places in the wilderness toward the daughter of my people, not to fan, nor to cleanse,
- En ce temps-là, il sera dit à ce peuple et à Jérusalem: Un vent brûlant souffle des lieux élevés du désert Sur le chemin de la fille de mon peuple, Non pour vanner ni pour nettoyer le grain. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τω̨̃ καιρω̨̃ ἐκείνω̨ ἐρου̃σιν τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ τούτω̨ καὶ τη̨̃ Ιερουσαλημ πνευ̃μα πλανήσεως ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ὁδὸς τη̃ς θυγατρὸς του̃ λαου̃ μου οὐκ εἰς καθαρὸν οὐδ' εἰς ἅγιον (Ⅲ) - In tempore illo dicetur populo huic et Jerusalem :/ Ventus urens in viis quæ sunt in deserto viæ filiæ populi mei,/ non ad ventilandum et ad purgandum./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃4 בעת ההיא יאמר לעם הזה ולירושלם רוח צח שפיים במדבר דרך בת עמי לוא לזרות ולוא להבר (Ⅴ)

Even a full wind from those places shall come unto me: now also will I give sentence against them.
- C'est un vent impétueux qui vient de là jusqu'à moi. Maintenant, je prononcerai leur sentence. (Ⅱ) - πνευ̃μα πληρώσεως ἥξει μοι νυ̃ν δὲ ἐγὼ λαλω̃ κρίματα πρὸς αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Spiritus plenus ex his veniet mihi,/ et nunc ego loquar judicia mea cum eis./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃4 רוח מלא מאלה יבוא לי עתה גם אני אדבר משפטים אותם (Ⅴ)

Behold, he shall come up as clouds, and his chariots shall be as a whirlwind: his horses are swifter than eagles. Woe unto us! for we are spoiled.
- Voici, le destructeur s'avance comme les nuées; Ses chars sont comme un tourbillon, Ses chevaux sont plus légers que les aigles. -Malheur à nous, car nous sommes détruits! - (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ὡς νεφέλη ἀναβήσεται καὶ ὡς καταιγὶς τὰ ἅρματα αὐτου̃ κουφότεροι ἀετω̃ν οἱ ἵπποι αὐτου̃ οὐαὶ ἡμι̃ν ὅτι ταλαιπωρου̃μεν (Ⅲ) - Ecce quasi nubes ascendet,/ et quasi tempestas currus ejus :/ velociores aquilis equi illius./ Væ nobis, quoniam vastati sumus./ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃4 הנה כעננים יעלה וכסופה מרכבותיו קלו מנשרים סוסיו אוי לנו כי שדדנו (Ⅴ)

O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?
- Purifie ton coeur du mal, Jérusalem, Afin que tu sois sauvée! Jusques à quand garderas-tu dans ton coeur tes pensées iniques? (Ⅱ) - ἀπόπλυνε ἀπὸ κακίας τὴν καρδίαν σου Ιερουσαλημ ἵνα σωθη̨̃ς ἕως πότε ὑπάρξουσιν ἐν σοὶ διαλογισμοὶ πόνων σου (Ⅲ) - Lava a malitia cor tuum, Jerusalem, ut salva fias :/ usquequo morabuntur in te cogitationes noxiæ ?/ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃4 כבסי מרעה לבך ירושלם למען תושעי עד מתי תלין בקרבך מחשבות אונך (Ⅴ)

For a voice declareth from Dan, and publisheth affliction from mount Ephraim.
- Car une voix qui part de Dan annonce la calamité, Elle la publie depuis la montagne d'Éphraïm. (Ⅱ) - διότι φωνὴ ἀναγγέλλοντος ἐκ Δαν ἥξει καὶ ἀκουσθήσεται πόνος ἐξ ὄρους Εφραιμ (Ⅲ) - Vox enim annuntiantis a Dan,/ et notum facientis idolum de monte Ephraim./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃4 כי קול מגיד מדן ומשמיע און מהר אפרים (Ⅴ)

Make ye mention to the nations; behold, publish against Jerusalem, that watchers come from a far country, and give out their voice against the cities of Judah.
- Dites-le aux nations, faites-le connaître à Jérusalem: Des assiégeants viennent d'une terre lointaine; Ils poussent des cris contre les villes de Juda. (Ⅱ) - ἀναμνήσατε ἔθνη ἰδοὺ ἥκασιν ἀναγγείλατε ἐν Ιερουσαλημ συστροφαὶ ἔρχονται ἐκ γη̃ς μακρόθεν καὶ ἔδωκαν ἐπὶ τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα φωνὴν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dicite gentibus : Ecce auditum est in Jerusalem/ custodes venire de terra longinqua,/ et dare super civitates Juda vocem suam :/ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃4 הזכירו לגוים הנה השמיעו על ירושלם נצרים באים מארץ המרחק ויתנו על ערי יהודה קולם (Ⅴ)

As keepers of a field, are they against her round about; because she hath been rebellious against me, saith the LORD.
- Comme ceux qui gardent un champ, ils entourent Jérusalem, Car elle s'est révoltée contre moi, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - ὡς φυλάσσοντες ἀγρὸν ἐγένοντο ἐπ' αὐτὴν κύκλω̨ ὅτι ἐμου̃ ἠμέλησας λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - quasi custodes agrorum facti sunt super eam in gyro,/ quia me ad iracundiam provocavit, dicit Dominus./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃4 כשמרי שדי היו עליה מסביב כי אתי מרתה נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

Thy way and thy doings have procured these things unto thee; this is thy wickedness, because it is bitter, because it reacheth unto thine heart.
- C'est là le produit de tes voies et de tes actions, C'est là le produit de ta méchanceté; Certes cela est amer, cela pénètre jusqu'à ton coeur. (Ⅱ) - αἱ ὁδοί σου καὶ τὰ ἐπιτηδεύματά σου ἐποίησαν ταυ̃τά σοι αὕτη ἡ κακία σου ὅτι πικρά ὅτι ἥψατο ἕως τη̃ς καρδίας σου (Ⅲ) - Viæ tuæ et cogitationes tuæ fecerunt hæc tibi :/ ista malitia tua, quia amara,/ quia tetigit cor tuum./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃4 דרכך ומעלליך עשו אלה לך זאת רעתך כי מר כי נגע עד לבך ס (Ⅴ)

My bowels, my bowels! I am pained at my very heart; my heart maketh a noise in me; I cannot hold my peace, because thou hast heard, O my soul, the sound of the trumpet, the alarm of war.
- Mes entrailles! mes entrailles: je souffre au dedans de mon coeur, Le coeur me bat, je ne puis me taire; Car tu entends, mon âme, le son de la trompette, Le cri de guerre. (Ⅱ) - τὴν κοιλίαν μου τὴν κοιλίαν μου ἀλγω̃ καὶ τὰ αἰσθητήρια τη̃ς καρδίας μου μαιμάσσει ἡ ψυχή μου σπαράσσεται ἡ καρδία μου οὐ σιωπήσομαι ὅτι φωνὴν σάλπιγγος ἤκουσεν ἡ ψυχή μου κραυγὴν πολέμου (Ⅲ) - Ventrem meum, ventrem meum doleo ;/ sensus cordis mei turbati sunt in me./ Non tacebo, quoniam vocem buccinæ audivit anima mea,/ clamorem prælii./ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃4 מעי מעי *אחולה **אוחילה קירות לבי המה לי לבי לא אחריש כי קול שופר *שמעתי **שמעת נפשי תרועת מלחמה (Ⅴ)

Destruction upon destruction is cried; for the whole land is spoiled: suddenly are my tents spoiled, and my curtains in a moment.
- On annonce ruine sur ruine, Car tout le pays est ravagé; Mes tentes sont ravagées tout à coup, Mes pavillons en un instant. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ταλαιπωρίαν συντριμμὸν ἐπικαλει̃ται ὅτι τεταλαιπώρηκεν πα̃σα ἡ γη̃ ἄφνω τεταλαιπώρηκεν ἡ σκηνή διεσπάσθησαν αἱ δέρρεις μου (Ⅲ) - Contritio super contritionem vocata est,/ et vastata est omnis terra :/ repente vastata sunt tabernacula mea ;/ subito pelles meæ./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃4 שבר על שבר נקרא כי שדדה כל הארץ פתאם שדדו אהלי רגע יריעתי (Ⅴ)

How long shall I see the standard, and hear the sound of the trumpet?
- Jusques à quand verrai-je la bannière, Et entendrai-je le son de la trompette? - (Ⅱ) - ἕως πότε ὄψομαι φεύγοντας ἀκούων φωνὴν σαλπίγγων (Ⅲ) - Usquequo videbo fugientem ;/ audiam vocem buccinæ ?/ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃4 עד מתי אראה נס אשמעה קול שופר ס (Ⅴ)

For my people is foolish, they have not known me; they are sottish children, and they have none understanding: they are wise to do evil, but to do good they have no knowledge.
- Certainement mon peuple est fou, il ne me connaît pas; Ce sont des enfants insensés, dépourvus d'intelligence; Ils sont habiles pour faire le mal, Mais ils ne savent pas faire le bien. - (Ⅱ) - διότι οἱ ἡγούμενοι του̃ λαου̃ μου ἐμὲ οὐκ ἤ̨δεισαν υἱοὶ ἄφρονές εἰσιν καὶ οὐ συνετοί σοφοί εἰσιν του̃ κακοποιη̃σαι τὸ δὲ καλω̃ς ποιη̃σαι οὐκ ἐπέγνωσαν (Ⅲ) - Quia stultus populus meus me non cognovit :/ filii insipientes sunt et vecordes :/ sapientes sunt ut faciant mala,/ bene autem facere nescierunt./ (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃4 כי אויל עמי אותי לא ידעו בנים סכלים המה ולא נבונים המה חכמים המה להרע ולהיטיב לא ידעו (Ⅴ)

I beheld the earth, and, lo, it was without form, and void; and the heavens, and they had no light.
- Je regarde la terre, et voici, elle est informe et vide; Les cieux, et leur lumière a disparu. (Ⅱ) - ἐπέβλεψα ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐθέν καὶ εἰς τὸν οὐρανόν καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν τὰ φω̃τα αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Aspexi terram, et ecce vacua erat et nihili ;/ et cælos, et non erat lux in eis./ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃4 ראיתי את הארץ והנה תהו ובהו ואל השמים ואין אורם (Ⅴ)

I beheld the mountains, and, lo, they trembled, and all the hills moved lightly.
- Je regarde les montagnes, et voici, elles sont ébranlées; Et toutes les collines chancellent. (Ⅱ) - εἰ̃δον τὰ ὄρη καὶ ἠ̃ν τρέμοντα καὶ πάντας τοὺς βουνοὺς ταρασσομένους (Ⅲ) - Vidi montes, et ecce movebantur :/ et omnes colles conturbati sunt./ (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃4 ראיתי ההרים והנה רעשים וכל הגבעות התקלקלו (Ⅴ)

I beheld, and, lo, there was no man, and all the birds of the heavens were fled.
- Je regarde, et voici, il n'y a point d'homme; Et tous les oiseaux des cieux ont pris la fuite. (Ⅱ) - ἐπέβλεψα καὶ ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἠ̃ν ἄνθρωπος καὶ πάντα τὰ πετεινὰ του̃ οὐρανου̃ ἐπτοει̃το (Ⅲ) - Intuitus sum, et non erat homo :/ et omne volatile cæli recessit./ (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃4 ראיתי והנה אין האדם וכל עוף השמים נדדו (Ⅴ)

I beheld, and, lo, the fruitful place was a wilderness, and all the cities thereof were broken down at the presence of the LORD, and by his fierce anger.
- Je regarde, et voici, le Carmel est un désert; Et toutes ses villes sont détruites, devant l'Éternel, Devant son ardente colère. For thus hath the LORD said, The whole land shall be desolate; yet will I not make a full end.
- Car ainsi parle l'Éternel: Tout le pays sera dévasté; Mais je ne ferai pas une entière destruction. (Ⅱ) - τάδε λέγει κύριος ἔρημος ἔσται πα̃σα ἡ γη̃ συντέλειαν δὲ οὐ μὴ ποιήσω (Ⅲ) - Hæc enim dicit Dominus :/ Deserta erit omnis terra,/ sed tamen consummationem non faciam./ (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃4 כי כה אמר יהוה שממה תהיה כל הארץ וכלה לא אעשה (Ⅴ)

For this shall the earth mourn, and the heavens above be black; because I have spoken it, I have purposed it, and will not repent, neither will I turn back from it.
- A cause de cela, le pays est en deuil, Et les cieux en haut sont obscurcis; Car je l'ai dit, je l'ai résolu, Et je ne m'en repens pas, je ne me rétracterai pas. (Ⅱ) - ἐπὶ τούτοις πενθείτω ἡ γη̃ καὶ συσκοτασάτω ὁ οὐρανὸς ἄνωθεν διότι ἐλάλησα καὶ οὐ μετανοήσω ὥρμησα καὶ οὐκ ἀποστρέψω ἀπ' αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Lugebit terra, et mœrebunt cæli desuper,/ eo quod locutus sum./ Cogitavi, et non pœnituit me,/ nec aversus sum ab eo./ (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃4 על זאת תאבל הארץ וקדרו השמים ממעל על כי דברתי זמתי ולא נחמתי ולא אשוב ממנה (Ⅴ)

The whole city shall flee for the noise of the horsemen and bowmen; they shall go into thickets, and climb up upon the rocks: every city shall be forsaken, and not a man dwell therein.
- Au bruit des cavaliers et des archers, toutes les villes sont en fuite; On entre dans les bois, on monte sur les rochers; Toutes les villes sont abandonnées, il n'y a plus d'habitants. (Ⅱ) - ἀπὸ φωνη̃ς ἱππέως καὶ ἐντεταμένου τόξου ἀνεχώρησεν πα̃σα χώρα εἰσέδυσαν εἰς τὰ σπήλαια καὶ εἰς τὰ ἄλση ἐκρύβησαν καὶ ἐπὶ τὰς πέτρας ἀνέβησαν πα̃σα πόλις ἐγκατελείφθη οὐ κατοικει̃ ἐν αὐται̃ς ἄνθρωπος (Ⅲ) - A voce equitis et mittentis sagittam fugit omnis civitas :/ ingressi sunt ardua, et ascenderunt rupes :/ universæ urbes derelictæ sunt,/ et non habitat in eis homo./ (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃4 מקול פרש ורמה קשת ברחת כל העיר באו בעבים ובכפים עלו כל העיר עזובה ואין יושב בהן איש (Ⅴ)

And when thou art spoiled, what wilt thou do? Though thou clothest thyself with crimson, though thou deckest thee with ornaments of gold, though thou rentest thy face with painting, in vain shalt thou make thyself fair; thy lovers will despise thee, they will seek thy life.
- Et toi, dévastée, que vas-tu faire? Tu te revêtiras de cramoisi, tu te pareras d'ornements d'or, Tu mettras du fard à tes yeux; Mais c'est en vain que tu t'embelliras; Tes amants te méprisent, Ils en veulent à ta vie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ σὺ τί ποιήσεις ἐὰν περιβάλη̨ κόκκινον καὶ κοσμήση̨ κόσμω̨ χρυσω̨̃ καὶ ἐὰν ἐγχρίση̨ στίβι τοὺς ὀφθαλμούς σου εἰς μάτην ὁ ὡραϊσμός σου ἀπώσαντό σε οἱ ἐρασταί σου τὴν ψυχήν σου ζητου̃σιν (Ⅲ) - Tu autem vastata, quid facies ?/ cum vestieris te coccino,/ cum ornata fueris monili aureo,/ et pinxeris stibio oculos tuos,/ frustra componeris :/ contempserunt te amatores tui ;/ animam tuam quærent./ (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃4 *ואתי **ואת שדוד מה תעשי כי תלבשי שני כי תעדי עדי זהב כי תקרעי בפוך עיניך לשוא תתיפי מאסו בך עגבים נפשך יבקשו (Ⅴ)

For I have heard a voice as of a woman in travail, and the anguish as of her that bringeth forth her first child, the voice of the daughter of Zion, that bewaileth herself, that spreadeth her hands, saying, Woe is me now! for my soul is wearied because of murderers.
- Car j'entends des cris comme ceux d'une femme en travail, Des cris d'angoisse comme dans un premier enfantement. C'est la voix de la fille de Sion; elle soupire, elle étend les mains: Malheureuse que je suis! je succombe sous les meurtriers! (Ⅱ) - ὅτι φωνὴν ὡς ὠδινούσης ἤκουσα του̃ στεναγμου̃ σου ὡς πρωτοτοκούσης φωνὴ θυγατρὸς Σιων ἐκλυθήσεται καὶ παρήσει τὰς χει̃ρας αὐτη̃ς οἴμμοι ἐγώ ὅτι ἐκλείπει ἡ ψυχή μου ἐπὶ τοι̃ς ἀνη̨ρημένοις (Ⅲ) - Vocem enim quasi parturientis audivi,/ angustias ut puerperæ :/ vox filiæ Sion intermorientis,/ expandentisque manus suas :/ Væ mihi, quia defecit anima mea propter interfectos !] (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃4 כי קול כחולה שמעתי צרה כמבכירה קול בת ציון תתיפח תפרש כפיה אוי נא לי כי עיפה נפשי להרגים פ (Ⅴ)
