And it came to pass after these things, that the butler of the king of Egypt and his baker had offended their lord the king of Egypt.
- Après ces choses, il arriva que l'échanson et le panetier du roi d'Égypte, offensèrent leur maître, le roi d'Égypte. (Ⅱ) - ἐγένετο δὲ μετὰ τὰ ῥήματα ταυ̃τα ἥμαρτεν ὁ ἀρχιοινοχόος του̃ βασιλέως Αἰγύπτου καὶ ὁ ἀρχισιτοποιὸς τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ αὐτω̃ν βασιλει̃ Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ) - His ita gestis, accidit ut peccarent duo eunuchi, pincerna regis Ægypti, et pistor, domino suo. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃40 ויהי אחר הדברים האלה חטאו משקה מלך מצרים והאפה לאדניהם למלך מצרים (Ⅴ)

And Pharaoh was wroth against two of his officers, against the chief of the butlers, and against the chief of the bakers.
- Pharaon fut irrité contre ses deux officiers, le chef des échansons et le chef des panetiers. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὠργίσθη Φαραω ἐπὶ τοι̃ς δυσὶν εὐνούχοις αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ ἀρχιοινοχόω̨ καὶ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ ἀρχισιτοποιω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Iratusque contra eos Pharao (nam alter pincernis præerat, alter pistoribus), (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃40 ויקצף פרעה על שני סריסיו על שר המשקים ועל שר האופים (Ⅴ)

And he put them in ward in the house of the captain of the guard, into the prison, the place where Joseph was bound.
- Et il les fit mettre dans la maison du chef des gardes, dans la prison, dans le lieu où Joseph était enfermé. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔθετο αὐτοὺς ἐν φυλακη̨̃ παρὰ τω̨̃ δεσμοφύλακι εἰς τὸ δεσμωτήριον εἰς τὸν τόπον οὑ̃ Ιωσηφ ἀπη̃κτο ἐκει̃ (Ⅲ) - misit eos in carcerem principis militum, in quo erat vinctus et Joseph. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃40 ויתן אתם במשמר בית שר הטבחים[1] אל בית הסהר מקום אשר יוסף אסור שם (Ⅴ)

And the captain of the guard charged Joseph with them, and he served them: and they continued a season in ward.
- Le chef des gardes les plaça sous la surveillance de Joseph, qui faisait le service auprès d'eux; et ils passèrent un certain temps en prison. (Ⅱ) - καὶ συνέστησεν ὁ ἀρχιδεσμώτης τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ αὐτούς καὶ παρέστη αὐτοι̃ς ἠ̃σαν δὲ ἡμέρας ἐν τη̨̃ φυλακη̨̃ (Ⅲ) - At custos carceris tradidit eos Joseph, qui et ministrabat eis : aliquantulum temporis fluxerat, et illi in custodia tenebantur. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃40 ויפקד שר הטבחים את יוסף אתם וישרת אתם ויהיו ימים במשמר (Ⅴ)

And they dreamed a dream both of them, each man his dream in one night, each man according to the interpretation of his dream, the butler and the baker of the king of Egypt, which were bound in the prison.
- Pendant une même nuit, l'échanson et le panetier du roi d'Égypte, qui étaient enfermés dans la prison, eurent tous les deux un songe, chacun le sien, pouvant recevoir une explication distincte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δον ἀμφότεροι ἐνύπνιον ἑκάτερος ἐνύπνιον ἐν μια̨̃ νυκτὶ ὅρασις του̃ ἐνυπνίου αὐτου̃ ὁ ἀρχιοινοχόος καὶ ὁ ἀρχισιτοποιός οἳ ἠ̃σαν τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Αἰγύπτου οἱ ὄντες ἐν τω̨̃ δεσμωτηρίω̨ (Ⅲ) - Videruntque ambo somnium nocte una, juxta interpretationem congruam sibi : (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃40 ויחלמו חלום שניהם איש חלמו בלילה אחד איש כפתרון חלמו המשקה והאפה אשר למלך מצרים אשר אסורים בבית הסהר (Ⅴ)

And Joseph came in unto them in the morning, and looked upon them, and, behold, they were sad.
- Joseph, étant venu le matin vers eux, les regarda; et voici, ils étaient tristes. (Ⅱ) - εἰση̃λθεν δὲ πρὸς αὐτοὺς Ιωσηφ τὸ πρωὶ καὶ εἰ̃δεν αὐτούς καὶ ἠ̃σαν τεταραγμένοι (Ⅲ) - ad quos cum introisset Joseph mane, et vidisset eos tristes, (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃40 ויבא אליהם יוסף בבקר וירא אתם והנם זעפים (Ⅴ)

And he asked Pharaoh's officers that were with him in the ward of his lord's house, saying, Wherefore look ye so sadly to day?
- Alors il questionna les officiers de Pharaon, qui étaient avec lui dans la prison de son maître, et il leur dit: Pourquoi avez-vous mauvais visage aujourd'hui? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠρώτα τοὺς εὐνούχους Φαραω οἳ ἠ̃σαν μετ' αὐτου̃ ἐν τη̨̃ φυλακη̨̃ παρὰ τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ αὐτου̃ λέγων τί ὅτι τὰ πρόσωπα ὑμω̃ν σκυθρωπὰ σήμερον (Ⅲ) - sciscitatus est eos, dicens : Cur tristior est hodie solito facies vestra ? (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃40 וישאל את סריסי פרעה אשר אתו במשמר בית אדניו לאמר מדוע פניכם רעים היום (Ⅴ)

And they said unto him, We have dreamed a dream, and there is no interpreter of it. And Joseph said unto them, Do not interpretations belong to God? tell me them, I pray you.
- Ils lui répondirent: Nous avons eu un songe, et il n'y a personne pour l'expliquer. Joseph leur dit: N'est-ce pas à Dieu qu'appartiennent les explications? Racontez-moi donc votre songe. (Ⅱ) - οἱ δὲ εἰ̃παν αὐτω̨̃ ἐνύπνιον εἴδομεν καὶ ὁ συγκρίνων οὐκ ἔστιν αὐτό εἰ̃πεν δὲ αὐτοι̃ς Ιωσηφ οὐχὶ διὰ του̃ θεου̃ ἡ διασάφησις αὐτω̃ν ἐστιν διηγήσασθε οὐ̃ν μοι (Ⅲ) - Qui responderunt : Somnium vidimus, et non est qui interpretetur nobis. Dixitque ad eos Joseph : Numquid non Dei est interpretatio ? referte mihi quid videritis. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃40 ויאמרו אליו חלום חלמנו ופתר אין אתו ויאמר אלהם יוסף הלוא לאלהים פתרנים ספרו נא לי (Ⅴ)

And the chief butler told his dream to Joseph, and said to him, In my dream, behold, a vine was before me;
- Le chef des échansons raconta son songe à Joseph, et lui dit: Dans mon songe, voici, il y avait un cep devant moi. (Ⅱ) - καὶ διηγήσατο ὁ ἀρχιοινοχόος τὸ ἐνύπνιον αὐτου̃ τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐν τω̨̃ ὕπνω̨ μου ἠ̃ν ἄμπελος ἐναντίον μου (Ⅲ) - Narravit prior, præpositus pincernarum, somnium suum : Videbam coram me vitem, (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃40 ויספר שר המשקים את חלמו ליוסף ויאמר לו בחלומי והנה גפן לפני (Ⅴ)

And in the vine were three branches: and it was as though it budded, and her blossoms shot forth; and the clusters thereof brought forth ripe grapes:
- Ce cep avait trois sarments. Quand il eut poussé, sa fleur se développa et ses grappes donnèrent des raisins mûrs. (Ⅱ) - ἐν δὲ τη̨̃ ἀμπέλω̨ τρει̃ς πυθμένες καὶ αὐτὴ θάλλουσα ἀνενηνοχυι̃α βλαστούς πέπειροι οἱ βότρυες σταφυλη̃ς (Ⅲ) - in qua erant tres propagines, crescere paulatim in gemmas, et post flores uvas maturescere : (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃40 ובגפן שלשה שריגם והיא כפרחת עלתה נצה הבשילו אשכלתיה ענבים (Ⅴ)

And Pharaoh's cup was in my hand: and I took the grapes, and pressed them into Pharaoh's cup, and I gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand.
- La coupe de Pharaon était dans ma main. Je pris les raisins, je les pressai dans la coupe de Pharaon, et je mis la coupe dans la main de Pharaon. (Ⅱ) - καὶ τὸ ποτήριον Φαραω ἐν τη̨̃ χειρί μου καὶ ἔλαβον τὴν σταφυλὴν καὶ ἐξέθλιψα αὐτὴν εἰς τὸ ποτήριον καὶ ἔδωκα τὸ ποτήριον εἰς τὰς χει̃ρας Φαραω (Ⅲ) - calicemque Pharaonis in manu mea : tuli ergo uvas, et expressi in calicem quem tenebam, et tradidi poculum Pharaoni. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃40 וכוס פרעה בידי ואקח את הענבים ואשחט אתם אל כוס פרעה ואתן את הכוס על כף פרעה (Ⅴ)

And Joseph said unto him, This is the interpretation of it: The three branches are three days:
- Joseph lui dit: En voici l'explication. Les trois sarments sont trois jours. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Ιωσηφ του̃το ἡ σύγκρισις αὐτου̃ οἱ τρει̃ς πυθμένες τρει̃ς ἡμέραι εἰσίν (Ⅲ) - Respondit Joseph : Hæc est interpretatio somnii : tres propagines, tres adhuc dies sunt : (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃40 ויאמר לו יוסף זה פתרנו שלשת השרגים שלשת ימים הם (Ⅴ)

Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thine head, and restore thee unto thy place: and thou shalt deliver Pharaoh's cup into his hand, after the former manner when thou wast his butler.
- Encore trois jours, et Pharaon relèvera ta tête et te rétablira dans ta charge; tu mettras la coupe dans la main de Pharaon, comme tu en avais l'habitude lorsque tu étais son échanson. (Ⅱ) - ἔτι τρει̃ς ἡμέραι καὶ μνησθήσεται Φαραω τη̃ς ἀρχη̃ς σου καὶ ἀποκαταστήσει σε ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχιοινοχοΐαν σου καὶ δώσεις τὸ ποτήριον Φαραω εἰς τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ κατὰ τὴν ἀρχήν σου τὴν προτέραν ὡς ἠ̃σθα οἰνοχοω̃ν (Ⅲ) - post quos recordabitur Pharao ministerii tui, et restituet te in gradum pristinum : dabisque ei calicem juxta officium tuum, sicut ante facere consueveras. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃40 בעוד שלשת ימים ישא פרעה את ראשך והשיבך על כנך ונתת כוס פרעה בידו כמשפט הראשון אשר היית משקהו (Ⅴ)

But think on me when it shall be well with thee, and show kindness, I pray thee, unto me, and make mention of me unto Pharaoh, and bring me out of this house:
- Mais souviens-toi de moi, quand tu seras heureux, et montre, je te prie, de la bonté à mon égard; parle en ma faveur à Pharaon, et fais-moi sortir de cette maison. (Ⅱ) - ἀλλὰ μνήσθητί μου διὰ σεαυτου̃ ὅταν εὐ̃ σοι γένηται καὶ ποιήσεις ἐν ἐμοὶ ἔλεος καὶ μνησθήση̨ περὶ ἐμου̃ Φαραω καὶ ἐξάξεις με ἐκ του̃ ὀχυρώματος τούτου (Ⅲ) - Tantum memento mei, cum bene tibi fuerit, et facias mecum misericordiam : ut suggeras Pharaoni ut educat me de isto carcere : (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃40 כי אם זכרתני אתך כאשר ייטב לך ועשית נא עמדי חסד והזכרתני אל פרעה והוצאתני מן הבית הזה (Ⅴ)

For indeed I was stolen away out of the land of the Hebrews: and here also have I done nothing that they should put me into the dungeon.
- Car j'ai été enlevé du pays des Hébreux, et ici même je n'ai rien fait pour être mis en prison. (Ⅱ) - ὅτι κλοπη̨̃ ἐκλάπην ἐκ γη̃ς Εβραίων καὶ ὡ̃δε οὐκ ἐποίησα οὐδέν ἀλλ' ἐνέβαλόν με εἰς τὸν λάκκον του̃τον (Ⅲ) - quia furto sublatus sum de terra Hebræorum, et hic innocens in lacum missus sum. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃40 כי גנב גנבתי מארץ העברים וגם פה לא עשיתי מאומה כי שמו אתי בבור (Ⅴ)

When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was good, he said unto Joseph, I also was in my dream, and, behold, I had three white baskets on my head:
- Le chef des panetiers, voyant que Joseph avait donné une explication favorable, dit: Voici, il y avait aussi, dans mon songe, trois corbeilles de pain blanc sur ma tête. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃δεν ὁ ἀρχισιτοποιὸς ὅτι ὀρθω̃ς συνέκρινεν καὶ εἰ̃πεν τω̨̃ Ιωσηφ κἀγὼ εἰ̃δον ἐνύπνιον καὶ ὤ̨μην τρία κανα̃ χονδριτω̃ν αἴρειν ἐπὶ τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς μου (Ⅲ) - Videns pistorum magister quod prudenter somnium dissolvisset, ait : Et ego vidi somnium : quod tria canistra farinæ haberem super caput meum : (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃40 וירא שר האפים כי טוב פתר ויאמר אל יוסף אף אני בחלומי והנה שלשה סלי חרי על ראשי (Ⅴ)

And in the uppermost basket there was of all manner of bakemeats for Pharaoh; and the birds did eat them out of the basket upon my head.
- Dans la corbeille la plus élevée il y avait pour Pharaon des mets de toute espèce, cuits au four; et les oiseaux les mangeaient dans la corbeille au-dessus de ma tête. (Ⅱ) - ἐν δὲ τω̨̃ κανω̨̃ τω̨̃ ἐπάνω ἀπὸ πάντων τω̃ν γενω̃ν ὡ̃ν ὁ βασιλεὺς Φαραω ἐσθίει ἔργον σιτοποιου̃ καὶ τὰ πετεινὰ του̃ οὐρανου̃ κατήσθιεν αὐτὰ ἀπὸ του̃ κανου̃ του̃ ἐπάνω τη̃ς κεφαλη̃ς μου (Ⅲ) - et in uno canistro quod erat excelsius, portare me omnes cibos qui fiunt arte pistoria, avesque comedere ex eo. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃40 ובסל העליון מכל מאכל פרעה מעשה אפה והעוף אכל אתם מן הסל מעל ראשי (Ⅴ)

And Joseph answered and said, This is the interpretation thereof: The three baskets are three days:
- Joseph répondit, et dit: En voici l'explication. Les trois corbeilles sont trois jours. (Ⅱ) - ἀποκριθεὶς δὲ Ιωσηφ εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ αὕτη ἡ σύγκρισις αὐτου̃ τὰ τρία κανα̃ τρει̃ς ἡμέραι εἰσίν (Ⅲ) - Respondit Joseph : Hæc est interpretatio somnii : tria canistra, tres adhuc dies sunt : (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃40 ויען יוסף ויאמר זה פתרנו שלשת הסלים שלשת ימים הם (Ⅴ)

Yet within three days shall Pharaoh lift up thy head from off thee, and shall hang thee on a tree; and the birds shall eat thy flesh from off thee.
- Encore trois jours, et Pharaon enlèvera ta tête de dessus toi, te fera pendre à un bois, et les oiseaux mangeront ta chair. (Ⅱ) - ἔτι τριω̃ν ἡμερω̃ν ἀφελει̃ Φαραω τὴν κεφαλήν σου ἀπὸ σου̃ καὶ κρεμάσει σε ἐπὶ ξύλου καὶ φάγεται τὰ ὄρνεα του̃ οὐρανου̃ τὰς σάρκας σου ἀπὸ σου̃ (Ⅲ) - post quos auferet Pharao caput tuum, ac suspendet te in cruce, et lacerabunt volucres carnes tuas. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃40 בעוד שלשת ימים ישא פרעה את ראשך מעליך ותלה אותך על עץ ואכל העוף את בשרך מעליך (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, that he made a feast unto all his servants: and he lifted up the head of the chief butler and of the chief baker among his servants.
- Le troisième jour, jour de la naissance de Pharaon, il fit un festin à tous ses serviteurs; et il éleva la tête du chef des échansons et la tête du chef des panetiers, au milieu de ses serviteurs: (Ⅱ) - ἐγένετο δὲ ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ τρίτη̨ ἡμέρα γενέσεως ἠ̃ν Φαραω καὶ ἐποίει πότον πα̃σι τοι̃ς παισὶν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἐμνήσθη τη̃ς ἀρχη̃ς του̃ ἀρχιοινοχόου καὶ τη̃ς ἀρχη̃ς του̃ ἀρχισιτοποιου̃ ἐν μέσω̨ τω̃ν παίδων αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Exinde dies tertius natalitius Pharaonis erat : qui faciens grande convivium pueris suis, recordatus est inter epulas magistri pincernarum, et pistorum principis. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃40 ויהי ביום השלישי יום[c] הלדת את פרעה ויעש משתה לכל עבדיו וישא את ראש שר המשקים ואת ראש שר האפים בתוך עבדיו (Ⅴ)

And he restored the chief butler unto his butlership again; and he gave the cup into Pharaoh's hand:
- il rétablit le chef des échansons dans sa charge d'échanson, pour qu'il mît la coupe dans la main de Pharaon; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπεκατέστησεν τὸν ἀρχιοινοχόον ἐπὶ τὴν ἀρχὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔδωκεν τὸ ποτήριον εἰς τὴν χει̃ρα Φαραω (Ⅲ) - Restituitque alterum in locum suum, ut porrigeret ei poculum : (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃40 וישב את שר המשקים על משקהו ויתן הכוס על כף פרעה (Ⅴ)

But he hanged the chief baker: as Joseph had interpreted to them.
- mais il fit pendre le chef des panetiers, selon l'explication que Joseph leur avait donnée. (Ⅱ) - τὸν δὲ ἀρχισιτοποιὸν ἐκρέμασεν καθὰ συνέκρινεν αὐτοι̃ς Ιωσηφ (Ⅲ) - alterum suspendit in patibulo, ut conjectoris veritas probaretur. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃40 ואת שר האפים תלה כאשר פתר להם יוסף (Ⅴ)

Yet did not the chief butler remember Joseph, but forgat him.
- Le chef des échansons ne pensa plus à Joseph. Il l'oublia. (Ⅱ) - οὐκ ἐμνήσθη δὲ ὁ ἀρχιοινοχόος του̃ Ιωσηφ ἀλλὰ ἐπελάθετο αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et tamen succedentibus prosperis, præpositus pincernarum oblitus est interpretis sui. (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃40 ולא זכר שר המשקים את יוסף וישכחהו פ (Ⅴ)
