Loquimini ad cor Jerusalem,/ et advocate eam,/ quoniam completa est malitia ejus,/ dimissa est iniquitas illius :/ suscepit de manu Domini duplicia/ pro omnibus peccatis suis./
- Parlez au coeur de Jérusalem, et criez lui Que sa servitude est finie, Que son iniquité est expiée, Qu'elle a reçu de la main de l'Éternel Au double de tous ses péchés. (Ⅱ) - Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins. Vox clamantis in deserto :/ Parate viam Domini,/ rectas facite in solitudine semitas Dei nostri./
- Une voix crie: Préparez au désert le chemin de l'Éternel, Aplanissez dans les lieux arides Une route pour notre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (Ⅲ) - φωνὴ βοω̃ντος ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἑτοιμάσατε τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου εὐθείας ποιει̃τε τὰς τρίβους του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃40 קול קורא במדבר פנו דרך יהוה ישרו בערבה מסלה לאלהינו (Ⅴ)

Omnis vallis exaltabitur,/ et omnis mons et collis humiliabitur,/ et erunt prava in directa,/ et aspera in vias planas :/
- Que toute vallée soit exhaussée, Que toute montagne et toute colline soient abaissées! Que les coteaux se changent en plaines, Et les défilés étroits en vallons! (Ⅱ) - Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: (Ⅲ) - πα̃σα φάραγξ πληρωθήσεται καὶ πα̃ν ὄρος καὶ βουνὸς ταπεινωθήσεται καὶ ἔσται πάντα τὰ σκολιὰ εἰς εὐθει̃αν καὶ ἡ τραχει̃α εἰς πεδία (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃40 כל גיא ינשא וכל הר וגבעה ישפלו והיה העקב למישור והרכסים לבקעה (Ⅴ)

et revelabitur gloria Domini,/ et videbit omnis caro pariter/ quod os Domini locutum est./
- Alors la gloire de l'Éternel sera révélée, Et au même instant toute chair la verra; Car la bouche de l'Éternel a parlé. (Ⅱ) - And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὀφθήσεται ἡ δόξα κυρίου καὶ ὄψεται πα̃σα σὰρξ τὸ σωτήριον του̃ θεου̃ ὅτι κύριος ἐλάλησεν (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃40 ונגלה כבוד יהוה וראו כל בשר יחדו כי פי יהוה דבר ס (Ⅴ)

- Une voix dit: Crie! -Et il répond: Que crierai-je? Toute chair est comme l'herbe, Et tout son éclat comme la fleur des champs. (Ⅱ) - The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? Exsiccatum est fœnum, et cecidit flos,/ quia spiritus Domini sufflavit in eo./ Vere fœnum est populus :/
- L'herbe sèche, la fleur tombe, Quand le vent de l'Éternel souffle dessus. -Certainement le peuple est comme l'herbe: (Ⅱ) - The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. (Ⅲ) - ἐξηράνθη ὁ χόρτος καὶ τὸ ἄνθος ἐξέπεσεν (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃40 יבש חציר נבל ציץ כי רוח יהוה נשבה בו אכן חציר העם (Ⅴ)

- Monte sur une haute montagne, Sion, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Élève avec force ta voix, Jérusalem, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Élève ta voix, ne crains point, Dis aux villes de Juda: Voici votre Dieu! (Ⅱ) - O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! ecce Dominus Deus in fortitudine veniet,/ et brachium ejus dominabitur :/ ecce merces ejus cum eo,/ et opus illius coram illo./
- Voici, le Seigneur, l'Éternel vient avec puissance, Et de son bras il commande; Voici, le salaire est avec lui, Et les rétributions le précèdent. (Ⅱ) - Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. - Comme un berger, il paîtra son troupeau, Il prendra les agneaux dans ses bras, Et les portera dans son sein; Il conduira les brebis qui allaitent. (Ⅱ) - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. (Ⅲ) - ὡς ποιμὴν ποιμανει̃ τὸ ποίμνιον αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̨̃ βραχίονι αὐτου̃ συνάξει ἄρνας καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας παρακαλέσει (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃40 כרעה עדרו ירעה בזרעו יקבץ טלאים ובחיקו ישא עלות ינהל ס (Ⅴ)

Quis mensus est pugillo aquas,/ et cælos palmo ponderavit ?/ quis appendit tribus digitis molem terræ,/ et libravit in pondere montes,/ et colles in statera ?/
- Qui a mesuré les eaux dans le creux de sa main, Pris les dimensions des cieux avec la paume, Et ramassé la poussière de la terre dans un tiers de mesure? Qui a pesé les montagnes au crochet, Et les collines à la balance? (Ⅱ) - Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? (Ⅲ) - τίς ἐμέτρησεν τη̨̃ χειρὶ τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸν οὐρανὸν σπιθαμη̨̃ καὶ πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν δρακί τίς ἔστησεν τὰ ὄρη σταθμω̨̃ καὶ τὰς νάπας ζυγω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃40 מי מדד בשעלו מים ושמים בזרת תכן וכל בשלש עפר הארץ ושקל בפלס הרים וגבעות במאזנים (Ⅴ)

- Qui a sondé l'esprit de l'Éternel, Et qui l'a éclairé de ses conseils? (Ⅱ) - Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? (Ⅲ) - τίς ἔγνω νου̃ν κυρίου καὶ τίς αὐτου̃ σύμβουλος ἐγένετο ὃς συμβιβα̨̃ αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃40 מי תכן את רוח יהוה ואיש עצתו יודיענו (Ⅴ)

cum quo iniit consilium, et instruxit eum,/ et docuit eum semitam justitiæ,/ et erudivit eum scientiam,/ et viam prudentiæ ostendit illi ?/
- Avec qui a-t-il délibéré pour en recevoir de l'instruction? Qui lui a appris le sentier de la justice? Qui lui a enseigné la sagesse, Et fait connaître le chemin de l'intelligence? (Ⅱ) - With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? - Voici, les nations sont comme une goutte d'un seau, Elles sont comme de la poussière sur une balance; Voici, les îles sont comme une fine poussière qui s'envole. (Ⅱ) - Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. (Ⅲ) - εἰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ὡς σταγὼν ἀπὸ κάδου καὶ ὡς ῥοπὴ ζυγου̃ ἐλογίσθησαν καὶ ὡς σίελος λογισθήσονται (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃40 הן גוים כמר מדלי וכשחק מאזנים נחשבו הן איים כדק יטול (Ⅴ)

Et Libanus non sufficiet ad succendendum,/ et animalia ejus non sufficient ad holocaustum./
- Le Liban ne suffit pas pour le feu, Et ses animaux ne suffisent pas pour l'holocauste. (Ⅱ) - And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering. (Ⅲ) - ὁ δὲ Λίβανος οὐχ ἱκανὸς εἰς καυ̃σιν καὶ πάντα τὰ τετράποδα οὐχ ἱκανὰ εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃40 ולבנון אין די בער וחיתו אין די עולה ס (Ⅴ)

- Toutes les nations sont devant lui comme un rien, Elles ne sont pour lui que néant et vanité. (Ⅱ) - All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. (Ⅱ) - The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. - Celui que la pauvreté oblige à donner peu Choisit un bois qui résiste à la vermoulure; Il se procure un ouvrier capable, Pour faire une idole qui ne branle pas. (Ⅱ) - He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved. (Ⅲ) - ξύλον γὰρ ἄσηπτον ἐκλέγεται τέκτων καὶ σοφω̃ς ζητει̃ πω̃ς στήσει αὐτου̃ εἰκόνα καὶ ἵνα μὴ σαλεύηται (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃40 המסכן תרומה עץ לא ירקב יבחר חרש חכם יבקש לו להכין פסל לא ימוט (Ⅴ)

Numquid non scitis ? numquid non audistis ?/ numquid non annuntiatum est vobis ab initio ?/ numquid non intellexistis fundamenta terræ ?/
- Ne le savez-vous pas? ne l'avez-vous pas appris? Ne vous l'a-t-on pas fait connaître dès le commencement? N'avez-vous jamais réfléchi à la fondation de la terre? (Ⅱ) - Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? (Ⅲ) - οὐ γνώσεσθε οὐκ ἀκούσεσθε οὐκ ἀνηγγέλη ἐξ ἀρχη̃ς ὑμι̃ν οὐκ ἔγνωτε τὰ θεμέλια τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃40 הלוא תדעו הלוא תשמעו הלוא הגד מראש לכם הלוא הבינתם מוסדות הארץ (Ⅴ)

Qui sedet super gyrum terræ,/ et habitatores ejus sunt quasi locustæ ;/ qui extendit velut nihilum cælos,/ et expandit eos sicut tabernaculum ad inhabitandum ;/
- C'est lui qui est assis au-dessus du cercle de la terre, Et ceux qui l'habitent sont comme des sauterelles; Il étend les cieux comme une étoffe légère, Il les déploie comme une tente, pour en faire sa demeure. (Ⅱ) - It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: (Ⅲ) - ὁ κατέχων τὸν γυ̃ρον τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ οἱ ἐνοικου̃ντες ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ὡς ἀκρίδες ὁ στήσας ὡς καμάραν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ διατείνας ὡς σκηνὴν κατοικει̃ν (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃40 הישב על חוג הארץ וישביה כחגבים הנוטה כדק שמים וימתחם כאהל לשבת (Ⅴ)

qui dat secretorum scrutatores quasi non sint,/ judices terræ velut inane fecit./
- C'est lui qui réduit les princes au néant, Et qui fait des juges de la terre une vanité; (Ⅱ) - That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. (Ⅲ) - ὁ διδοὺς ἄρχοντας εἰς οὐδὲν ἄρχειν τὴν δὲ γη̃ν ὡς οὐδὲν ἐποίησεν (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃40 הנותן רוזנים לאין שפטי ארץ כתהו עשה (Ⅴ)

Et quidem neque plantatus, neque satus,/ neque radicatus in terra truncus eorum ;/ repente flavit in eos, et aruerunt,/ et turbo quasi stipulam auferet eos./
- Ils ne sont pas même plantés, pas même semés, Leur tronc n'a pas même de racine en terre: Il souffle sur eux, et ils se dessèchent, Et un tourbillon les emporte comme le chaume. (Ⅱ) - Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. (Ⅲ) - οὐ γὰρ μὴ σπείρωσιν οὐδὲ μὴ φυτεύσωσιν οὐδὲ μὴ ῥιζωθη̨̃ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἡ ῥίζα αὐτω̃ν ἔπνευσεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐξηράνθησαν καὶ καταιγὶς ὡς φρύγανα ἀναλήμψεται αὐτούς (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃40 אף בל נטעו אף בל זרעו אף בל שרש בארץ גזעם וגם נשף בהם ויבשו וסערה כקש תשאם ס (Ⅴ)

Et cui assimilastis me, et adæquastis ?/ dicit Sanctus./
- A qui me comparerez-vous, pour que je lui ressemble? Dit le Saint. (Ⅱ) - To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. (Ⅲ) - νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν τίνι με ὡμοιώσατε καὶ ὑψωθήσομαι εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἅγιος (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃40 ואל מי תדמיוני ואשוה יאמר קדוש (Ⅴ)

Levate in excelsum oculos vestros, et videte/ quis creavit hæc :/ qui educit in numero militiam eorum,/ et omnes ex nomine vocat ;/ præ multitudine fortitudinis et roboris, virtutisque ejus,/ neque unum reliquum fuit./
- Levez vos yeux en haut, et regardez! Qui a créé ces choses? Qui fait marcher en ordre leur armée? Il les appelle toutes par leur nom; Par son grand pouvoir et par sa force puissante, Il n'en est pas une qui fasse défaut. (Ⅱ) - Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. (Ⅲ) - ἀναβλέψατε εἰς ὕψος τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἴδετε τίς κατέδειξεν πάντα ταυ̃τα ὁ ἐκφέρων κατὰ ἀριθμὸν τὸν κόσμον αὐτου̃ πάντας ἐπ' ὀνόματι καλέσει ἀπὸ πολλη̃ς δόξης καὶ ἐν κράτει ἰσχύος οὐδέν σε ἔλαθεν (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃40 שאו מרום עיניכם וראו מי ברא אלה המוציא במספר צבאם לכלם בשם יקרא מרב אונים ואמיץ כח איש לא נעדר ס (Ⅴ)

Quare dicis, Jacob,/ et loqueris, Israël :/ Abscondita est via mea a Domino,/ et a Deo meo judicium meum transivit ?/
- Pourquoi dis-tu, Jacob, Pourquoi dis-tu, Israël: Ma destinée est cachée devant l'Éternel, Mon droit passe inaperçu devant mon Dieu? (Ⅱ) - Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? (Ⅲ) - μὴ γὰρ εἴπη̨ς Ιακωβ καὶ τί ἐλάλησας Ισραηλ ἀπεκρύβη ἡ ὁδός μου ἀπὸ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ ὁ θεός μου τὴν κρίσιν ἀφει̃λεν καὶ ἀπέστη (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃40 למה תאמר יעקב ותדבר ישראל נסתרה דרכי מיהוה ומאלהי משפטי יעבור (Ⅴ)

Numquid nescis, aut non audisti ?/ Deus sempiternus Dominus,/ qui creavit terminos terræ :/ non deficiet, neque laborabit,/ nec est investigatio sapientiæ ejus./
- Ne le sais-tu pas? ne l'as-tu pas appris? C'est le Dieu d'éternité, l'Éternel, Qui a créé les extrémités de la terre; Il ne se fatigue point, il ne se lasse point; On ne peut sonder son intelligence. Qui dat lasso virtutem,/ et his qui non sunt, fortitudinem et robur multiplicat./
- Il donne de la force à celui qui est fatigué, Et il augmente la vigueur de celui qui tombe en défaillance. (Ⅱ) - He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. (Ⅲ) - διδοὺς τοι̃ς πεινω̃σιν ἰσχὺν καὶ τοι̃ς μὴ ὀδυνωμένοις λύπην (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃40 נתן ליעף כח ולאין אונים עצמה ירבה (Ⅴ)

- Les adolescents se fatiguent et se lassent, Et les jeunes hommes chancellent; (Ⅱ) - Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (Ⅲ) - πεινάσουσιν γὰρ νεώτεροι καὶ κοπιάσουσιν νεανίσκοι καὶ ἐκλεκτοὶ ἀνίσχυες ἔσονται (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃40 ויעפו נערים ויגעו ובחורים כשול יכשלו (Ⅴ)

qui autem sperant in Domino mutabunt fortitudinem,/ assument pennas sicut aquilæ :/ current et non laborabunt,/ ambulabunt et non deficient.]
- Mais ceux qui se confient en l'Éternel renouvellent leur force. Ils prennent le vol comme les aigles; Ils courent, et ne se lassent point, Ils marchent, et ne se fatiguent point. (Ⅱ) - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Ⅲ) - οἱ δὲ ὑπομένοντες τὸν θεὸν ἀλλάξουσιν ἰσχύν πτεροφυήσουσιν ὡς ἀετοί δραμου̃νται καὶ οὐ κοπιάσουσιν βαδιου̃νται καὶ οὐ πεινάσουσιν (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃40 וקוי יהוה יחליפו כח יעלו אבר כנשרים ירוצו ולא ייגעו ילכו ולא ייעפו פ (Ⅴ)
