1 ׃40 נחמו נחמו עמי יאמר אלהיכם
- Consolez, consolez mon peuple, Dit votre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. (Ⅲ) - παρακαλει̃τε παρακαλει̃τε τὸν λαόν μου λέγει ὁ θεός (Ⅳ) - Consolamini, consolamini, popule meus,/ dicit Deus vester./ (Ⅴ)

2 ׃40 דברו על לב ירושלם וקראו אליה כי מלאה צבאה כי נרצה עונה כי לקחה מיד יהוה כפלים בכל חטאתיה ס
- Parlez au coeur de Jérusalem, et criez lui Que sa servitude est finie, Que son iniquité est expiée, Qu'elle a reçu de la main de l'Éternel Au double de tous ses péchés. (Ⅱ) - Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins. (Ⅲ) - ἱερει̃ς λαλήσατε εἰς τὴν καρδίαν Ιερουσαλημ παρακαλέσατε αὐτήν ὅτι ἐπλήσθη ἡ ταπείνωσις αὐτη̃ς λέλυται αὐτη̃ς ἡ ἁμαρτία ὅτι ἐδέξατο ἐκ χειρὸς κυρίου διπλα̃ τὰ ἁμαρτήματα αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Loquimini ad cor Jerusalem,/ et advocate eam,/ quoniam completa est malitia ejus,/ dimissa est iniquitas illius :/ suscepit de manu Domini duplicia/ pro omnibus peccatis suis./ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃40 קול קורא במדבר פנו דרך יהוה ישרו בערבה מסלה לאלהינו
- Une voix crie: Préparez au désert le chemin de l'Éternel, Aplanissez dans les lieux arides Une route pour notre Dieu. (Ⅱ) - The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. (Ⅲ) - φωνὴ βοω̃ντος ἐν τη̨̃ ἐρήμω̨ ἑτοιμάσατε τὴν ὁδὸν κυρίου εὐθείας ποιει̃τε τὰς τρίβους του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Vox clamantis in deserto :/ Parate viam Domini,/ rectas facite in solitudine semitas Dei nostri./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃40 כל גיא ינשא וכל הר וגבעה ישפלו והיה העקב למישור והרכסים לבקעה
- Que toute vallée soit exhaussée, Que toute montagne et toute colline soient abaissées! Que les coteaux se changent en plaines, Et les défilés étroits en vallons! (Ⅱ) - Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: (Ⅲ) - πα̃σα φάραγξ πληρωθήσεται καὶ πα̃ν ὄρος καὶ βουνὸς ταπεινωθήσεται καὶ ἔσται πάντα τὰ σκολιὰ εἰς εὐθει̃αν καὶ ἡ τραχει̃α εἰς πεδία (Ⅳ) - Omnis vallis exaltabitur,/ et omnis mons et collis humiliabitur,/ et erunt prava in directa,/ et aspera in vias planas :/ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃40 ונגלה כבוד יהוה וראו כל בשר יחדו כי פי יהוה דבר ס
- Alors la gloire de l'Éternel sera révélée, Et au même instant toute chair la verra; Car la bouche de l'Éternel a parlé. (Ⅱ) - And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. (Ⅲ) - καὶ ὀφθήσεται ἡ δόξα κυρίου καὶ ὄψεται πα̃σα σὰρξ τὸ σωτήριον του̃ θεου̃ ὅτι κύριος ἐλάλησεν (Ⅳ) - et revelabitur gloria Domini,/ et videbit omnis caro pariter/ quod os Domini locutum est./ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃40 קול אמר קרא ואמר מה אקרא כל הבשר חציר וכל חסדו כציץ השדה
- Une voix dit: Crie! -Et il répond: Que crierai-je? Toute chair est comme l'herbe, Et tout son éclat comme la fleur des champs. (Ⅱ) - The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: (Ⅲ) - φωνὴ λέγοντος βόησον καὶ εἰ̃πα τί βοήσω πα̃σα σὰρξ χόρτος καὶ πα̃σα δόξα ἀνθρώπου ὡς ἄνθος χόρτου (Ⅳ) - Vox dicentis : Clama./ Et dixi : Quid clamabo ?/ Omnis caro fœnum,/ et omnis gloria ejus quasi flos agri./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃40 יבש חציר נבל ציץ כי רוח יהוה נשבה בו אכן חציר העם
- L'herbe sèche, la fleur tombe, Quand le vent de l'Éternel souffle dessus. -Certainement le peuple est comme l'herbe: (Ⅱ) - The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. (Ⅲ) - ἐξηράνθη ὁ χόρτος καὶ τὸ ἄνθος ἐξέπεσεν (Ⅳ) - Exsiccatum est fœnum, et cecidit flos,/ quia spiritus Domini sufflavit in eo./ Vere fœnum est populus :/ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃40 יבש חציר נבל ציץ ודבר אלהינו יקום לעולם ס
- L'herbe sèche, la fleur tombe; Mais la parole de notre Dieu subsiste éternellement. (Ⅱ) - The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever. (Ⅲ) - τὸ δὲ ῥη̃μα του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν μένει εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να (Ⅳ) - exsiccatum est fœnum, et cecidit flos ;/ verbum autem Domini nostri manet in æternum./ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃40 על הר גבה עלי לך מבשרת ציון הרימי בכח קולך מבשרת ירושלם הרימי אל תיראי אמרי לערי יהודה הנה אלהיכם
- Monte sur une haute montagne, Sion, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Élève avec force ta voix, Jérusalem, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Élève ta voix, ne crains point, Dis aux villes de Juda: Voici votre Dieu! (Ⅱ) - O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God! (Ⅲ) - ἐπ' ὄρος ὑψηλὸν ἀνάβηθι ὁ εὐαγγελιζόμενος Σιων ὕψωσον τη̨̃ ἰσχύι τὴν φωνήν σου ὁ εὐαγγελιζόμενος Ιερουσαλημ ὑψώσατε μὴ φοβει̃σθε εἰπὸν ται̃ς πόλεσιν Ιουδα ἰδοὺ ὁ θεὸς ὑμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Super montem excelsum ascende,/ tu qui evangelizas Sion ;/ exalta in fortitudine vocem tuam,/ qui evangelizas Jerusalem :/ exalta, noli timere./ Dic civitatibus Juda :/ Ecce Deus vester :/ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃40 הנה אדני יהוה בחזק יבוא וזרעו משלה לו הנה שכרו אתו ופעלתו לפניו
- Voici, le Seigneur, l'Éternel vient avec puissance, Et de son bras il commande; Voici, le salaire est avec lui, Et les rétributions le précèdent. (Ⅱ) - Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. (Ⅲ) - ἰδοὺ κύριος μετὰ ἰσχύος ἔρχεται καὶ ὁ βραχίων μετὰ κυριείας ἰδοὺ ὁ μισθὸς αὐτου̃ μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ τὸ ἔργον ἐναντίον αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - ecce Dominus Deus in fortitudine veniet,/ et brachium ejus dominabitur :/ ecce merces ejus cum eo,/ et opus illius coram illo./ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃40 כרעה עדרו ירעה בזרעו יקבץ טלאים ובחיקו ישא עלות ינהל ס
- Comme un berger, il paîtra son troupeau, Il prendra les agneaux dans ses bras, Et les portera dans son sein; Il conduira les brebis qui allaitent. (Ⅱ) - He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young. (Ⅲ) - ὡς ποιμὴν ποιμανει̃ τὸ ποίμνιον αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̨̃ βραχίονι αὐτου̃ συνάξει ἄρνας καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἐχούσας παρακαλέσει (Ⅳ) - Sicut pastor gregem suum pascet,/ in brachio suo congregabit agnos,/ et in sinu suo levabit ;/ fœtas ipse portabit./ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃40 מי מדד בשעלו מים ושמים בזרת תכן וכל בשלש עפר הארץ ושקל בפלס הרים וגבעות במאזנים
- Qui a mesuré les eaux dans le creux de sa main, Pris les dimensions des cieux avec la paume, Et ramassé la poussière de la terre dans un tiers de mesure? Qui a pesé les montagnes au crochet, Et les collines à la balance? (Ⅱ) - Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance? (Ⅲ) - τίς ἐμέτρησεν τη̨̃ χειρὶ τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ τὸν οὐρανὸν σπιθαμη̨̃ καὶ πα̃σαν τὴν γη̃ν δρακί τίς ἔστησεν τὰ ὄρη σταθμω̨̃ καὶ τὰς νάπας ζυγω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - Quis mensus est pugillo aquas,/ et cælos palmo ponderavit ?/ quis appendit tribus digitis molem terræ,/ et libravit in pondere montes,/ et colles in statera ?/ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃40 מי תכן את רוח יהוה ואיש עצתו יודיענו
- Qui a sondé l'esprit de l'Éternel, Et qui l'a éclairé de ses conseils? (Ⅱ) - Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him? (Ⅲ) - τίς ἔγνω νου̃ν κυρίου καὶ τίς αὐτου̃ σύμβουλος ἐγένετο ὃς συμβιβα̨̃ αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - Quis adjuvit spiritum Domini ?/ aut quis consiliarius ejus fuit, et ostendit illi ?/ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃40 את מי נועץ ויבינהו וילמדהו בארח משפט וילמדהו דעת ודרך תבונות יודיענו
- Avec qui a-t-il délibéré pour en recevoir de l'instruction? Qui lui a appris le sentier de la justice? Qui lui a enseigné la sagesse, Et fait connaître le chemin de l'intelligence? (Ⅱ) - With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding? (Ⅲ) - ἢ πρὸς τίνα συνεβουλεύσατο καὶ συνεβίβασεν αὐτόν ἢ τίς ἔδειξεν αὐτω̨̃ κρίσιν ἢ ὁδὸν συνέσεως τίς ἔδειξεν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - cum quo iniit consilium, et instruxit eum,/ et docuit eum semitam justitiæ,/ et erudivit eum scientiam,/ et viam prudentiæ ostendit illi ?/ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃40 הן גוים כמר מדלי וכשחק מאזנים נחשבו הן איים כדק יטול
- Voici, les nations sont comme une goutte d'un seau, Elles sont comme de la poussière sur une balance; Voici, les îles sont comme une fine poussière qui s'envole. (Ⅱ) - Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing. (Ⅲ) - εἰ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ὡς σταγὼν ἀπὸ κάδου καὶ ὡς ῥοπὴ ζυγου̃ ἐλογίσθησαν καὶ ὡς σίελος λογισθήσονται (Ⅳ) - Ecce gentes quasi stilla situlæ,/ et quasi momentum stateræ reputatæ sunt ;/ ecce insulæ quasi pulvis exiguus./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃40 ולבנון אין די בער וחיתו אין די עולה ס
- Le Liban ne suffit pas pour le feu, Et ses animaux ne suffisent pas pour l'holocauste. (Ⅱ) - And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering. (Ⅲ) - ὁ δὲ Λίβανος οὐχ ἱκανὸς εἰς καυ̃σιν καὶ πάντα τὰ τετράποδα οὐχ ἱκανὰ εἰς ὁλοκάρπωσιν (Ⅳ) - Et Libanus non sufficiet ad succendendum,/ et animalia ejus non sufficient ad holocaustum./ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃40 כל הגוים כאין נגדו מאפס ותהו נחשבו לו
- Toutes les nations sont devant lui comme un rien, Elles ne sont pour lui que néant et vanité. (Ⅱ) - All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity. (Ⅲ) - καὶ πάντα τὰ ἔθνη ὡς οὐδέν εἰσι καὶ εἰς οὐθὲν ἐλογίσθησαν (Ⅳ) - Omnes gentes quasi non sint, sic sunt coram eo,/ et quasi nihilum et inane reputatæ sunt ei.]\ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃40 ואל מי תדמיון אל ומה דמות תערכו לו
- A qui voulez-vous comparer Dieu? Et quelle image ferez-vous son égale? (Ⅱ) - To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him? (Ⅲ) - τίνι ὡμοιώσατε κύριον καὶ τίνι ὁμοιώματι ὡμοιώσατε αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - Cui ergo similem fecisti Deum ?/ aut quam imaginem ponetis ei ?/ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃40 הפסל נסך חרש וצרף בזהב ירקענו ורתקות כסף צורף
- C'est un ouvrier qui fond l'idole, Et c'est un orfèvre qui la couvre d'or, Et y soude des chaînettes d'argent. (Ⅱ) - The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains. (Ⅲ) - μὴ εἰκόνα ἐποίησεν τέκτων ἢ χρυσοχόος χωνεύσας χρυσίον περιεχρύσωσεν αὐτόν ὁμοίωμα κατεσκεύασεν αὐτόν (Ⅳ) - Numquid sculptile conflavit faber ?/ aut aurifex auro figuravit illud,/ et laminis argenteis argentarius ?/ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃40 המסכן תרומה עץ לא ירקב יבחר חרש חכם יבקש לו להכין פסל לא ימוט
- Celui que la pauvreté oblige à donner peu Choisit un bois qui résiste à la vermoulure; Il se procure un ouvrier capable, Pour faire une idole qui ne branle pas. (Ⅱ) - He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved. (Ⅲ) - ξύλον γὰρ ἄσηπτον ἐκλέγεται τέκτων καὶ σοφω̃ς ζητει̃ πω̃ς στήσει αὐτου̃ εἰκόνα καὶ ἵνα μὴ σαλεύηται (Ⅳ) - Forte lignum et imputribile elegit ;/ artifex sapiens quærit/ quomodo statuat simulacrum, quod non moveatur./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃40 הלוא תדעו הלוא תשמעו הלוא הגד מראש לכם הלוא הבינתם מוסדות הארץ
- Ne le savez-vous pas? ne l'avez-vous pas appris? Ne vous l'a-t-on pas fait connaître dès le commencement? N'avez-vous jamais réfléchi à la fondation de la terre? (Ⅱ) - Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? (Ⅲ) - οὐ γνώσεσθε οὐκ ἀκούσεσθε οὐκ ἀνηγγέλη ἐξ ἀρχη̃ς ὑμι̃ν οὐκ ἔγνωτε τὰ θεμέλια τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Numquid non scitis ? numquid non audistis ?/ numquid non annuntiatum est vobis ab initio ?/ numquid non intellexistis fundamenta terræ ?/ (Ⅴ)

22 ׃40 הישב על חוג הארץ וישביה כחגבים הנוטה כדק שמים וימתחם כאהל לשבת
- C'est lui qui est assis au-dessus du cercle de la terre, Et ceux qui l'habitent sont comme des sauterelles; Il étend les cieux comme une étoffe légère, Il les déploie comme une tente, pour en faire sa demeure. (Ⅱ) - It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in: (Ⅲ) - ὁ κατέχων τὸν γυ̃ρον τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ οἱ ἐνοικου̃ντες ἐν αὐτη̨̃ ὡς ἀκρίδες ὁ στήσας ὡς καμάραν τὸν οὐρανὸν καὶ διατείνας ὡς σκηνὴν κατοικει̃ν (Ⅳ) - Qui sedet super gyrum terræ,/ et habitatores ejus sunt quasi locustæ ;/ qui extendit velut nihilum cælos,/ et expandit eos sicut tabernaculum ad inhabitandum ;/ (Ⅴ)

23 ׃40 הנותן רוזנים לאין שפטי ארץ כתהו עשה
- C'est lui qui réduit les princes au néant, Et qui fait des juges de la terre une vanité; (Ⅱ) - That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity. (Ⅲ) - ὁ διδοὺς ἄρχοντας εἰς οὐδὲν ἄρχειν τὴν δὲ γη̃ν ὡς οὐδὲν ἐποίησεν (Ⅳ) - qui dat secretorum scrutatores quasi non sint,/ judices terræ velut inane fecit./ (Ⅴ)

24 ׃40 אף בל נטעו אף בל זרעו אף בל שרש בארץ גזעם וגם נשף בהם ויבשו וסערה כקש תשאם ס
- Ils ne sont pas même plantés, pas même semés, Leur tronc n'a pas même de racine en terre: Il souffle sur eux, et ils se dessèchent, Et un tourbillon les emporte comme le chaume. (Ⅱ) - Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble. (Ⅲ) - οὐ γὰρ μὴ σπείρωσιν οὐδὲ μὴ φυτεύσωσιν οὐδὲ μὴ ῥιζωθη̨̃ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν ἡ ῥίζα αὐτω̃ν ἔπνευσεν ἐπ' αὐτοὺς καὶ ἐξηράνθησαν καὶ καταιγὶς ὡς φρύγανα ἀναλήμψεται αὐτούς (Ⅳ) - Et quidem neque plantatus, neque satus,/ neque radicatus in terra truncus eorum ;/ repente flavit in eos, et aruerunt,/ et turbo quasi stipulam auferet eos./ (Ⅴ)

25 ׃40 ואל מי תדמיוני ואשוה יאמר קדוש
- A qui me comparerez-vous, pour que je lui ressemble? Dit le Saint. (Ⅱ) - To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. (Ⅲ) - νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν τίνι με ὡμοιώσατε καὶ ὑψωθήσομαι εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἅγιος (Ⅳ) - Et cui assimilastis me, et adæquastis ?/ dicit Sanctus./ (Ⅴ)

26 ׃40 שאו מרום עיניכם וראו מי ברא אלה המוציא במספר צבאם לכלם בשם יקרא מרב אונים ואמיץ כח איש לא נעדר ס
- Levez vos yeux en haut, et regardez! Qui a créé ces choses? Qui fait marcher en ordre leur armée? Il les appelle toutes par leur nom; Par son grand pouvoir et par sa force puissante, Il n'en est pas une qui fasse défaut. (Ⅱ) - Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth. (Ⅲ) - ἀναβλέψατε εἰς ὕψος τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς ὑμω̃ν καὶ ἴδετε τίς κατέδειξεν πάντα ταυ̃τα ὁ ἐκφέρων κατὰ ἀριθμὸν τὸν κόσμον αὐτου̃ πάντας ἐπ' ὀνόματι καλέσει ἀπὸ πολλη̃ς δόξης καὶ ἐν κράτει ἰσχύος οὐδέν σε ἔλαθεν (Ⅳ) - Levate in excelsum oculos vestros, et videte/ quis creavit hæc :/ qui educit in numero militiam eorum,/ et omnes ex nomine vocat ;/ præ multitudine fortitudinis et roboris, virtutisque ejus,/ neque unum reliquum fuit./ (Ⅴ)

27 ׃40 למה תאמר יעקב ותדבר ישראל נסתרה דרכי מיהוה ומאלהי משפטי יעבור
- Pourquoi dis-tu, Jacob, Pourquoi dis-tu, Israël: Ma destinée est cachée devant l'Éternel, Mon droit passe inaperçu devant mon Dieu? (Ⅱ) - Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God? (Ⅲ) - μὴ γὰρ εἴπη̨ς Ιακωβ καὶ τί ἐλάλησας Ισραηλ ἀπεκρύβη ἡ ὁδός μου ἀπὸ του̃ θεου̃ καὶ ὁ θεός μου τὴν κρίσιν ἀφει̃λεν καὶ ἀπέστη (Ⅳ) - Quare dicis, Jacob,/ et loqueris, Israël :/ Abscondita est via mea a Domino,/ et a Deo meo judicium meum transivit ?/ (Ⅴ)

28 ׃40 הלוא ידעת אם לא שמעת אלהי עולם יהוה בורא קצות הארץ לא ייעף ולא ייגע אין חקר לתבונתו
- Ne le sais-tu pas? ne l'as-tu pas appris? C'est le Dieu d'éternité, l'Éternel, Qui a créé les extrémités de la terre; Il ne se fatigue point, il ne se lasse point; On ne peut sonder son intelligence. (Ⅱ) - Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. (Ⅲ) - καὶ νυ̃ν οὐκ ἔγνως εἰ μὴ ἤκουσας θεὸς αἰώνιος ὁ θεὸς ὁ κατασκευάσας τὰ ἄκρα τη̃ς γη̃ς οὐ πεινάσει οὐδὲ κοπιάσει οὐδὲ ἔστιν ἐξεύρεσις τη̃ς φρονήσεως αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - Numquid nescis, aut non audisti ?/ Deus sempiternus Dominus,/ qui creavit terminos terræ :/ non deficiet, neque laborabit,/ nec est investigatio sapientiæ ejus./ (Ⅴ)

29 ׃40 נתן ליעף כח ולאין אונים עצמה ירבה
- Il donne de la force à celui qui est fatigué, Et il augmente la vigueur de celui qui tombe en défaillance. (Ⅱ) - He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. (Ⅲ) - διδοὺς τοι̃ς πεινω̃σιν ἰσχὺν καὶ τοι̃ς μὴ ὀδυνωμένοις λύπην (Ⅳ) - Qui dat lasso virtutem,/ et his qui non sunt, fortitudinem et robur multiplicat./ (Ⅴ)

30 ׃40 ויעפו נערים ויגעו ובחורים כשול יכשלו
- Les adolescents se fatiguent et se lassent, Et les jeunes hommes chancellent; (Ⅱ) - Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: (Ⅲ) - πεινάσουσιν γὰρ νεώτεροι καὶ κοπιάσουσιν νεανίσκοι καὶ ἐκλεκτοὶ ἀνίσχυες ἔσονται (Ⅳ) - Deficient pueri, et laborabunt,/ et juvenes in infirmitate cadent ;/ (Ⅴ)

31 ׃40 וקוי יהוה יחליפו כח יעלו אבר כנשרים ירוצו ולא ייגעו ילכו ולא ייעפו פ
- Mais ceux qui se confient en l'Éternel renouvellent leur force. Ils prennent le vol comme les aigles; Ils courent, et ne se lassent point, Ils marchent, et ne se fatiguent point. (Ⅱ) - But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint. (Ⅲ) - οἱ δὲ ὑπομένοντες τὸν θεὸν ἀλλάξουσιν ἰσχύν πτεροφυήσουσιν ὡς ἀετοί δραμου̃νται καὶ οὐ κοπιάσουσιν βαδιου̃νται καὶ οὐ πεινάσουσιν (Ⅳ) - qui autem sperant in Domino mutabunt fortitudinem,/ assument pennas sicut aquilæ :/ current et non laborabunt,/ ambulabunt et non deficient.] (Ⅴ)
