2 ׃44 אלהים באזנינו שמענו אבותינו ספרו לנו פעל פעלת בימיהם בימי קדם
- O Dieu! nous avons entendu de nos oreilles, Nos pères nous ont raconté Les oeuvres que tu as accomplies de leur temps, Aux jours d'autrefois. (Ⅱ) - We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the times of old. (Ⅲ) - ὁ θεός ἐν τοι̃ς ὠσὶν ἡμω̃ν ἠκούσαμεν οἱ πατέρες ἡμω̃ν ἀνήγγειλαν ἡμι̃ν ἔργον ὃ εἰργάσω ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις αὐτω̃ν ἐν ἡμέραις ἀρχαίαις (Ⅳ) - [Deus, auribus nostris audivimus,/ patres nostri annuntiaverunt nobis,/ opus quod operatus es in diebus eorum,/ et in diebus antiquis./ (Ⅴ)

3 ׃44 אתה ידך גוים הורשת ותטעם תרע לאמים ותשלחם
- De ta main tu as chassé des nations pour les établir, Tu as frappé des peuples pour les étendre. (Ⅱ) - How thou didst drive out the heathen with thy hand, and plantedst them; how thou didst afflict the people, and cast them out. (Ⅲ) - ἡ χείρ σου ἔθνη ἐξωλέθρευσεν καὶ κατεφύτευσας αὐτούς ἐκάκωσας λαοὺς καὶ ἐξέβαλες αὐτούς (Ⅳ) - Manus tua gentes disperdidit, et plantasti eos ;/ afflixisti populos, et expulisti eos./ (Ⅴ)

4 ׃44 כי לא בחרבם ירשו ארץ וזרועם לא הושיעה למו כי ימינך וזרועך ואור פניך כי רציתם
- Car ce n'est point par leur épée qu'ils se sont emparés du pays, Ce n'est point leur bras qui les a sauvés; Mais c'est ta droite, c'est ton bras, c'est la lumière de ta face, Parce que tu les aimais. (Ⅱ) - For they got not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them. (Ⅲ) - οὐ γὰρ ἐν τη̨̃ ῥομφαία̨ αὐτω̃ν ἐκληρονόμησαν γη̃ν καὶ ὁ βραχίων αὐτω̃ν οὐκ ἔσωσεν αὐτούς ἀλλ' ἡ δεξιά σου καὶ ὁ βραχίων σου καὶ ὁ φωτισμὸς του̃ προσώπου σου ὅτι εὐδόκησας ἐν αὐτοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - Nec enim in gladio suo possederunt terram,/ et brachium eorum non salvavit eos :/ sed dextera tua et brachium tuum,/ et illuminatio vultus tui, quoniam complacuisti in eis./ (Ⅴ)

5 ׃44 אתה הוא מלכי אלהים צוה ישועות יעקב
- O Dieu! tu es mon roi: Ordonne la délivrance de Jacob! (Ⅱ) - Thou art my King, O God: command deliverances for Jacob. (Ⅲ) - σὺ εἰ̃ αὐτὸς ὁ βασιλεύς μου καὶ ὁ θεός μου ὁ ἐντελλόμενος τὰς σωτηρίας Ιακωβ (Ⅳ) - Tu es ipse rex meus et Deus meus,/ qui mandas salutes Jacob./ (Ⅴ)

6 ׃44 בך צרינו ננגח בשמך נבוס קמינו
- Avec toi nous renversons nos ennemis, Avec ton nom nous écrasons nos adversaires. (Ⅱ) - Through thee will we push down our enemies: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us. (Ⅲ) - ἐν σοὶ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ἡμω̃ν κερατιου̃μεν καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου ἐξουθενώσομεν τοὺς ἐπανιστανομένους ἡμι̃ν (Ⅳ) - In te inimicos nostros ventilabimus cornu,/ et in nomine tuo spernemus insurgentes in nobis./ (Ⅴ)

7 ׃44 כי לא בקשתי אבטח וחרבי לא תושיעני
- Car ce n'est pas en mon arc que je me confie, Ce n'est pas mon épée qui me sauvera; (Ⅱ) - For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me. (Ⅲ) - οὐ γὰρ ἐπὶ τω̨̃ τόξω̨ μου ἐλπιω̃ καὶ ἡ ῥομφαία μου οὐ σώσει με (Ⅳ) - Non enim in arcu meo sperabo,/ et gladius meus non salvabit me :/ (Ⅴ)

8 ׃44 כי הושעתנו מצרינו ומשנאינו הבישות
- Mais c'est toi qui nous délivres de nos ennemis, Et qui confonds ceux qui nous haïssent. (Ⅱ) - But thou hast saved us from our enemies, and hast put them to shame that hated us. (Ⅲ) - ἔσωσας γὰρ ἡμα̃ς ἐκ τω̃ν θλιβόντων ἡμα̃ς καὶ τοὺς μισου̃ντας ἡμα̃ς κατή̨σχυνας (Ⅳ) - salvasti enim nos de affligentibus nos,/ et odientes nos confudisti./ (Ⅴ)

9 ׃44 באלהים הללנו[1] כל היום ושמך לעולם נודה סלה
- Nous nous glorifions en Dieu chaque jour, Et nous célébrerons à jamais ton nom. -Pause. (Ⅱ) - In God we boast all the day long, and praise thy name for ever. Selah. (Ⅲ) - ἐν τω̨̃ θεω̨̃ ἐπαινεσθησόμεθα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν καὶ ἐν τω̨̃ ὀνόματί σου ἐξομολογησόμεθα εἰς τὸν αἰω̃να διάψαλμα (Ⅳ) - In Deo laudabimur tota die,/ et in nomine tuo confitebimur in sæculum./ (Ⅴ)

10 ׃44 אף זנחת ותכלימנו ולא תצא בצבאותינו
- Cependant tu nous repousses, tu nous couvres de honte, Tu ne sors plus avec nos armées; (Ⅱ) - But thou hast cast off, and put us to shame; and goest not forth with our armies. (Ⅲ) - νυνὶ δὲ ἀπώσω καὶ κατή̨σχυνας ἡμα̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἐξελεύση̨ ἐν ται̃ς δυνάμεσιν ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Nunc autem repulisti et confudisti nos,/ et non egredieris, Deus, in virtutibus nostris./ (Ⅴ)

11 ׃44 תשיבנו אחור מני צר ומשנאינו שסו למו
- Tu nous fais reculer devant l'ennemi, Et ceux qui nous haïssent enlèvent nos dépouilles. (Ⅱ) - Thou makest us to turn back from the enemy: and they which hate us spoil for themselves. (Ⅲ) - ἀπέστρεψας ἡμα̃ς εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω παρὰ τοὺς ἐχθροὺς ἡμω̃ν καὶ οἱ μισου̃ντες ἡμα̃ς διήρπαζον ἑαυτοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - Avertisti nos retrorsum post inimicos nostros,/ et qui oderunt nos diripiebant sibi./ (Ⅴ)

12 ׃44 תתננו כצאן מאכל ובגוים זריתנו
- Tu nous livres comme des brebis à dévorer, Tu nous disperses parmi les nations. (Ⅱ) - Thou hast given us like sheep appointed for meat; and hast scattered us among the heathen. (Ⅲ) - ἔδωκας ἡμα̃ς ὡς πρόβατα βρώσεως καὶ ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν διέσπειρας ἡμα̃ς (Ⅳ) - Dedisti nos tamquam oves escarum,/ et in gentibus dispersisti nos./ (Ⅴ)

13 ׃44 תמכר עמך בלא הון ולא רבית במחיריהם
- Tu vends ton peuple pour rien, Tu ne l'estimes pas à une grande valeur. (Ⅱ) - Thou sellest thy people for nought, and dost not increase thy wealth by their price. (Ⅲ) - ἀπέδου τὸν λαόν σου ἄνευ τιμη̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἠ̃ν πλη̃θος ἐν τοι̃ς ἀλλάγμασιν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Vendidisti populum tuum sine pretio,/ et non fuit multitudo in commutationibus eorum./ (Ⅴ)

14 ׃44 תשימנו חרפה לשכנינו לעג וקלס לסביבותינו
- Tu fais de nous un objet d'opprobre pour nos voisins, De moquerie et de risée pour ceux qui nous entourent; (Ⅱ) - Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us. (Ⅲ) - ἔθου ἡμα̃ς ὄνειδος τοι̃ς γείτοσιν ἡμω̃ν μυκτηρισμὸν καὶ καταγέλωτα τοι̃ς κύκλω̨ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Posuisti nos opprobrium vicinis nostris ;/ subsannationem et derisum his qui sunt in circuitu nostro./ (Ⅴ)

15 ׃44 תשימנו משל בגוים מנוד ראש בל אמים
- Tu fais de nous un objet de sarcasme parmi les nations, Et de hochements de tête parmi les peuples. (Ⅱ) - Thou makest us a byword among the heathen, a shaking of the head among the people. (Ⅲ) - ἔθου ἡμα̃ς εἰς παραβολὴν ἐν τοι̃ς ἔθνεσιν κίνησιν κεφαλη̃ς ἐν τοι̃ς λαοι̃ς (Ⅳ) - Posuisti nos in similitudinem gentibus ;/ commotionem capitis in populis./ (Ⅴ)

16 ׃44 כל היום כלמתי נגדי ובשת פני כסתני
- Ma honte est toujours devant moi, Et la confusion couvre mon visage, (Ⅱ) - My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me, (Ⅲ) - ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἡ ἐντροπή μου κατεναντίον μού ἐστιν καὶ ἡ αἰσχύνη του̃ προσώπου μου ἐκάλυψέν με (Ⅳ) - Tota die verecundia mea contra me est,/ et confusio faciei meæ cooperuit me :/ (Ⅴ)

17 ׃44 מקול מחרף ומגדף מפני אויב ומתנקם
- A la voix de celui qui m'insulte et m'outrage, A la vue de l'ennemi et du vindicatif. (Ⅱ) - For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and avenger. (Ⅲ) - ἀπὸ φωνη̃ς ὀνειδίζοντος καὶ παραλαλου̃ντος ἀπὸ προσώπου ἐχθρου̃ καὶ ἐκδιώκοντος (Ⅳ) - a voce exprobrantis et obloquentis,/ a facie inimici et persequentis./ (Ⅴ)

18 ׃44 כל זאת באתנו ולא שכחנוך ולא שקרנו בבריתך
- Tout cela nous arrive, sans que nous t'ayons oublié, Sans que nous ayons violé ton alliance: (Ⅱ) - All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant. (Ⅲ) - ταυ̃τα πάντα ἠ̃λθεν ἐφ' ἡμα̃ς καὶ οὐκ ἐπελαθόμεθά σου καὶ οὐκ ἠδικήσαμεν ἐν διαθήκη̨ σου (Ⅳ) - Hæc omnia venerunt super nos ; nec obliti sumus te,/ et inique non egimus in testamento tuo./ (Ⅴ)

19 ׃44 לא נסוג אחור לבנו ותט אשרינו מני ארחך
- Notre coeur ne s'est point détourné, Nos pas ne se sont point éloignés de ton sentier, (Ⅱ) - Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way; (Ⅲ) - καὶ οὐκ ἀπέστη εἰς τὰ ὀπίσω ἡ καρδία ἡμω̃ν καὶ ἐξέκλινας τὰς τρίβους ἡμω̃ν ἀπὸ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ σου (Ⅳ) - Et non recessit retro cor nostrum ;/ et declinasti semitas nostras a via tua :/ (Ⅴ)

20 ׃44 כי דכיתנו במקום תנים ותכס עלינו בצלמות
- Pour que tu nous écrases dans la demeure des chacals, Et que tu nous couvres de l'ombre de la mort. (Ⅱ) - Though thou hast sore broken us in the place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἐταπείνωσας ἡμα̃ς ἐν τόπω̨ κακώσεως καὶ ἐπεκάλυψεν ἡμα̃ς σκιὰ θανάτου (Ⅳ) - quoniam humiliasti nos in loco afflictionis,/ et cooperuit nos umbra mortis./ (Ⅴ)

21 ׃44 אם שכחנו שם אלהינו ונפרש כפינו לאל זר
- Si nous avions oublié le nom de notre Dieu, Et étendu nos mains vers un dieu étranger, (Ⅱ) - If we have forgotten the name of our God, or stretched out our hands to a strange god; (Ⅲ) - εἰ ἐπελαθόμεθα του̃ ὀνόματος του̃ θεου̃ ἡμω̃ν καὶ εἰ διεπετάσαμεν χει̃ρας ἡμω̃ν πρὸς θεὸν ἀλλότριον (Ⅳ) - Si obliti sumus nomen Dei nostri,/ et si expandimus manus nostras ad deum alienum,/ (Ⅴ)

22 ׃44 הלא אלהים יחקר זאת כי הוא ידע תעלמות לב
- Dieu ne le saurait-il pas, Lui qui connaît les secrets du coeur? (Ⅱ) - Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. (Ⅲ) - οὐχὶ ὁ θεὸς ἐκζητήσει ταυ̃τα αὐτὸς γὰρ γινώσκει τὰ κρύφια τη̃ς καρδίας (Ⅳ) - nonne Deus requiret ista ?/ ipse enim novit abscondita cordis./ (Ⅴ)

23 ׃44 כי עליך הרגנו כל היום נחשבנו כצאן טבחה
- Mais c'est à cause de toi qu'on nous égorge tous les jours, Qu'on nous regarde comme des brebis destinées à la boucherie. (Ⅱ) - Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἕνεκα σου̃ θανατούμεθα ὅλην τὴν ἡμέραν ἐλογίσθημεν ὡς πρόβατα σφαγη̃ς (Ⅳ) - Quoniam propter te mortificamur tota die ;/ æstimati sumus sicut oves occisionis./ (Ⅴ)

24 ׃44 עורה למה תישן אדני הקיצה אל תזנח לנצח
- Réveille-toi! Pourquoi dors-tu, Seigneur? Réveille-toi! ne nous repousse pas à jamais! (Ⅱ) - Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast us not off for ever. (Ⅲ) - ἐξεγέρθητι ἵνα τί ὑπνοι̃ς κύριε ἀνάστηθι καὶ μὴ ἀπώση̨ εἰς τέλος (Ⅳ) - Exsurge ; quare obdormis, Domine ?/ exsurge, et ne repellas in finem./ (Ⅴ)

25 ׃44 למה פניך תסתיר תשכח ענינו ולחצנו
- Pourquoi caches-tu ta face? Pourquoi oublies-tu notre misère et notre oppression? (Ⅱ) - Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression? (Ⅲ) - ἵνα τί τὸ πρόσωπόν σου ἀποστρέφεις ἐπιλανθάνη̨ τη̃ς πτωχείας ἡμω̃ν καὶ τη̃ς θλίψεως ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Quare faciem tuam avertis ?/ oblivisceris inopiæ nostræ et tribulationis nostræ ?/ (Ⅴ)

26 ׃44 כי שחה לעפר נפשנו דבקה לארץ בטננו
- Car notre âme est abattue dans la poussière, Notre corps est attaché à la terre. (Ⅱ) - For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth. (Ⅲ) - ὅτι ἐταπεινώθη εἰς χου̃ν ἡ ψυχὴ ἡμω̃ν ἐκολλήθη εἰς γη̃ν ἡ γαστὴρ ἡμω̃ν (Ⅳ) - Quoniam humiliata est in pulvere anima nostra ;/ conglutinatus est in terra venter noster./ (Ⅴ)

27 ׃44 קומה עזרתה לנו ופדנו למען חסדך
- Lève-toi, pour nous secourir! Délivre-nous à cause de ta bonté! (Ⅱ) - Arise for our help, and redeem us for thy mercies' sake. (Ⅲ) - ἀνάστα κύριε βοήθησον ἡμι̃ν καὶ λύτρωσαι ἡμα̃ς ἕνεκεν του̃ ὀνόματός σου (Ⅳ) - Exsurge, Domine, adjuva nos,/ et redime nos propter nomen tuum.] (Ⅴ)
