Then Darius the king made a decree, and search was made in the house of the rolls, where the treasures were laid up in Babylon.
- Alors le roi Darius donna ordre de faire des recherches dans la maison des archives où l'on déposait les trésors à Babylone. (Ⅱ) - Tunc Darius rex præcepit : et recensuerunt in bibliotheca librorum, qui erant repositi in Babylone. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃6 באדין דריוש מלכא שם טעם ובקרו בבית ספריא די גנזיא מהחתין תמה בבבל (Ⅴ)

And there was found at Achmetha, in the palace that is in the province of the Medes, a roll, and therein was a record thus written:
- Et l'on trouva à Achmetha, capitale de la province de Médie, un rouleau sur lequel était écrit le mémoire suivant: (Ⅱ) - Et inventum est in Ecbatanis, quod est castrum in Medena provincia, volumen unum : talisque scriptus erat in eo commentarius : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃6 והשתכח באחמתא בבירתא די במדי מדינתה מגלה חדה וכן כתיב בגוה דכרונה פ (Ⅴ)

In the first year of Cyrus the king the same Cyrus the king made a decree concerning the house of God at Jerusalem, Let the house be builded, the place where they offered sacrifices, and let the foundations thereof be strongly laid; the height thereof threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof threescore cubits;
- La première année du roi Cyrus, le roi Cyrus a donné cet ordre au sujet de la maison de Dieu à Jérusalem: Que la maison soit rebâtie, pour être un lieu où l'on offre des sacrifices, et qu'elle ait des solides fondements. Elle aura soixante coudées de hauteur, soixante coudées de largeur, (Ⅱ) - Anno primo Cyri regis, Cyrus rex decrevit ut domus Dei ædificaretur, quæ est in Jerusalem, in loco ubi immolent hostias, et ut ponant fundamenta supportantia altitudinem cubitorum sexaginta, et latitudinem cubitorum sexaginta, (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃6 בשנת חדה לכורש מלכא כורש מלכא שם טעם בית אלהא בירושלם ביתא יתבנא אתר די דבחין דבחין ואשוהי מסובלין רומה אמין שתין פתיה אמין שתין (Ⅴ)

With three rows of great stones, and a row of new timber: and let the expenses be given out of the king's house:
- trois rangées de pierres de taille et une rangée de bois neuf. Les frais seront payés par la maison du roi. (Ⅱ) - ordines de lapidibus impolitis tres, et sic ordines de lignis novis : sumptus autem de domo regis dabuntur. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃6 נדבכין די אבן גלל תלתא ונדבך די אע חדת ונפקתא מן בית מלכא תתיהב (Ⅴ)

And also let the golden and silver vessels of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took forth out of the temple which is at Jerusalem, and brought unto Babylon, be restored, and brought again unto the temple which is at Jerusalem, every one to his place, and place them in the house of God.
- De plus, les ustensiles d'or et d'argent de la maison de Dieu, que Nebucadnetsar avait enlevés du temple de Jérusalem et transportés à Babylone, seront rendus, transportés au temple de Jérusalem à la place où ils étaient, et déposés dans la maison de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Sed et vasa templi Dei aurea et argentea, quæ Nabuchodonosor tulerat de templo Jerusalem, et attulerat ea in Babylonem, reddantur, et referantur in templum in Jerusalem in locum suum, quæ et posita sunt in templo Dei. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃6 ואף מאני בית אלהא די דהבה וכספא די נבוכדנצר הנפק מן היכלא די בירושלם והיבל לבבל יהתיבון ויהך להיכלא די בירושלם לאתרה ותחת בבית אלהא ס (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, Tatnai, governor beyond the river, Shetharboznai, and your companions the Apharsachites, which are beyond the river, be ye far from thence:
- Maintenant, Thathnaï, gouverneur de l'autre côté du fleuve, Schethar Boznaï, et vos collègues d'Apharsac, qui demeurez de l'autre côté du fleuve, tenez-vous loin de ce lieu. (Ⅱ) - Nunc ergo Thathanai dux regionis, quæ est trans flumen, Stharbuzanai, et consiliarii vestri Apharsachæi, qui estis trans flumen, procul recedite ab illis, (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃6 כען תתני פחת עבר נהרה שתר בוזני וכנותהון[C] אפרסכיא די בעבר נהרה רחיקין הוו מן תמה (Ⅴ)

Let the work of this house of God alone; let the governor of the Jews and the elders of the Jews build this house of God in his place.
- Laissez continuer les travaux de cette maison de Dieu; que le gouverneur des Juifs et les anciens des Juifs la rebâtissent sur l'emplacement qu'elle occupait. (Ⅱ) - et dimittite fieri templum Dei illud a duce Judæorum, et a senioribus eorum, ut domum Dei illam ædificent in loco suo. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃6 שבקו לעבידת בית אלהא דך פחת יהודיא ולשבי יהודיא בית אלהא דך יבנון על אתרה (Ⅴ)

Moreover I make a decree what ye shall do to the elders of these Jews for the building of this house of God: that of the king's goods, even of the tribute beyond the river, forthwith expenses be given unto these men, that they be not hindered.
- Voici l'ordre que je donne touchant ce que vous aurez à faire à l'égard de ces anciens des Juifs pour la construction de cette maison de Dieu: les frais, pris sur les biens du roi provenant des tributs de l'autre côté du fleuve, seront exactement payés à ces hommes, afin qu'il n'y ait pas d'interruption. (Ⅱ) - Sed et a me præceptum est quid oporteat fieri a presbyteris Judæorum illis ut ædificetur domus Dei, scilicet ut de arca regis, id est, de tributis quæ dantur de regione trans flumen, studiose sumptus dentur viris illis, ne impediatur opus. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃6 ומני שים טעם למא די תעבדון עם שבי יהודיא אלך למבנא בית אלהא דך ומנכסי מלכא די מדת עבר נהרה אספרנא נפקתא תהוא מתיהבא לגבריא אלך די לא לבטלא (Ⅴ)

And that which they have need of, both young bullocks, and rams, and lambs, for the burnt offerings of the God of heaven, wheat, salt, wine, and oil, according to the appointment of the priests which are at Jerusalem, let it be given them day by day without fail:
- Les choses nécessaires pour les holocaustes du Dieu des cieux, jeunes taureaux, béliers et agneaux, froment, sel, vin et huile, seront livrées, sur leur demande, aux sacrificateurs de Jérusalem, jour par jour et sans manquer, (Ⅱ) - Quod si necesse fuerit, et vitulos, et agnos, et hædos in holocaustum Deo cæli, frumentum, sal, vinum, et oleum, secundum ritum sacerdotum, qui sunt in Jerusalem, detur eis per singulos dies, ne sit in aliquo querimonia. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃6 ומה חשחן ובני תורין ודכרין ואמרין לעלון לאלה שמיא חנטין מלח חמר ומשח כמאמר כהניא די בירושלם להוא מתיהב להם יום ביום די לא שלו (Ⅴ)

That they may offer sacrifices of sweet savours unto the God of heaven, and pray for the life of the king, and of his sons.
- afin qu'ils offrent des sacrifices de bonne odeur au Dieu des cieux et qu'ils prient pour la vie du roi et de ses fils. (Ⅱ) - Et offerant oblationes Deo cæli, orentque pro vita regis, et filiorum ejus. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃6 די להון מהקרבין ניחוחין לאלה שמיא ומצלין לחיי מלכא ובנוהי (Ⅴ)

Also I have made a decree, that whosoever shall alter this word, let timber be pulled down from his house, and being set up, let him be hanged thereon; and let his house be made a dunghill for this.
- Et voici l'ordre que je donne touchant quiconque transgressera cette parole: on arrachera de sa maison une pièce de bois, on la dressera pour qu'il y soit attaché, et l'on fera de sa maison un tas d'immondices. (Ⅱ) - A me ergo positum est decretum : ut omnis homo qui hanc mutaverit jussionem, tollatur lignum de domum ipsius, et erigatur, et configatur in eo, domus autem ejus publicetur. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃6 ומני שים טעם די כל אנש די יהשנא פתגמא דנה יתנסח אע מן ביתה וזקיף יתמחא עלהי וביתה נולו יתעבד על דנה (Ⅴ)

And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter and to destroy this house of God which is at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.
- Que le Dieu qui fait résider en ce lieu son nom renverse tout roi et tout peuple qui étendraient la main pour transgresser ma parole, pour détruire cette maison de Dieu à Jérusalem! Moi, Darius, j'ai donné cet ordre. Qu'il soit ponctuellement exécuté. (Ⅱ) - Deus autem, qui habitare fecit nomen suum ibi, dissipet omnia regna, et populum qui extenderit manum suam ut repugnet, et dissipet domum Dei illam, quæ est in Jerusalem. Ego Darius statui decretum, quod studiose impleri volo.\ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃6 ואלהא די שכן שמה תמה ימגר כל מלך ועם די ישלח ידה להשניה לחבלה בית אלהא דך די בירושלם אנה דריוש שמת טעם אספרנא יתעבד פ (Ⅴ)

Then Tatnai, governor on this side the river, Shetharboznai, and their companions, according to that which Darius the king had sent, so they did speedily.
- Thathnaï, gouverneur de ce côté du fleuve, Schethar Boznaï, et leurs collègues, se conformèrent ponctuellement à cet ordre que leur envoya le roi Darius. (Ⅱ) - Igitur Thathanai dux regionis trans flumen, et Stharbuzanai, et consiliarii ejus, secundum quod præceperat Darius rex, sic diligenter executi sunt. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃6 אדין תתני פחת עבר נהרה שתר בוזני וכנותהון לקבל די שלח דריוש מלכא כנמא אספרנא עבדו (Ⅴ)

And the elders of the Jews builded, and they prospered through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. And they builded, and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the commandment of Cyrus, and Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.
- Et les anciens des Juifs bâtirent avec succès, selon les prophéties d'Aggée, le prophète, et de Zacharie, fils d'Iddo; ils bâtirent et achevèrent, d'après l'ordre du Dieu d'Israël, et d'après l'ordre de Cyrus, de Darius, et d'Artaxerxès, rois de Perse. (Ⅱ) - Seniores autem Judæorum ædificabant, et prosperabantur juxta prophetiam Aggæi prophetæ, et Zachariæ filii Addo : et ædificaverunt et construxerunt, jubente Deo Israël, et jubente Cyro, et Dario, et Artaxerxe regibus Persarum : (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃6 ושבי יהודיא בנין ומצלחין בנבואת חגי *נביאה **נביא וזכריה בר עדוא ובנו ושכללו מן טעם אלה ישראל ומטעם כורש ודריוש וארתחששתא מלך פרס (Ⅴ)

And this house was finished on the third day of the month Adar, which was in the sixth year of the reign of Darius the king.
- La maison fut achevée le troisième jour du mois d'Adar, dans la sixième année du règne du roi Darius. (Ⅱ) - et compleverunt domum Dei istam, usque ad diem tertium mensis Adar, qui est annus sextus regni Darii regis. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃6 ושיציא ביתה דנה עד יום תלתה לירח אדר די היא שנת שת למלכות דריוש מלכא פ (Ⅴ)

And the children of Israel, the priests, and the Levites, and the rest of the children of the captivity, kept the dedication of this house of God with joy.
- Les enfants d'Israël, les sacrificateurs et les Lévites, et le reste des fils de la captivité, firent avec joie la dédicace de cette maison de Dieu. (Ⅱ) - Fecerunt autem filii Israël sacerdotes et Levitæ, et reliqui filiorum transmigrationis, dedicationem domus Dei in gaudio. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃6 ועבדו בני ישראל כהניא ולויא ושאר בני גלותא חנכת בית אלהא דנה בחדוה (Ⅴ)

And offered at the dedication of this house of God an hundred bullocks, two hundred rams, four hundred lambs; and for a sin offering for all Israel, twelve he goats, according to the number of the tribes of Israel.
- Ils offrirent, pour la dédicace de cette maison de Dieu, cent taureaux, deux cents béliers, quatre cents agneaux, et, comme victimes expiatoires pour tout Israël, douze boucs, d'après le nombre des tribus d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - Et obtulerunt in dedicationem domus Dei, vitulos centum, arietes ducentos, agnos quadringentos, hircos caprarum pro peccato totius Israël duodecim, juxta numerum tribuum Israël. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃6 והקרבו לחנכת בית אלהא דנה תורין מאה דכרין מאתין אמרין ארבע מאה וצפירי עזין *לחטיא **לחטאה על כל ישראל תרי עשר למנין שבטי ישראל (Ⅴ)

And they set the priests in their divisions, and the Levites in their courses, for the service of God, which is at Jerusalem; as it is written in the book of Moses.
- Ils établirent les sacrificateurs selon leurs classes et les Lévites selon leurs divisions pour le service de Dieu à Jérusalem, comme il est écrit dans le livre de Moïse. (Ⅱ) - Et statuerunt sacerdotes in ordinibus suis, et Levitas in vicibus suis, super opera Dei in Jerusalem, sicut scriptum est in libro Moysi.\ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃6 והקימו כהניא בפלגתהון ולויא במחלקתהון על עבידת אלהא די בירושלם ככתב ספר משה פ (Ⅴ)

And the children of the captivity kept the passover upon the fourteenth day of the first month.
- Les fils de la captivité célébrèrent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du premier mois. (Ⅱ) - Fecerunt autem filii Israël transmigrationis Pascha, quartadecima die mensis primi. (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃6 ויעשו בני הגולה את הפסח בארבעה עשר לחדש הראשון (Ⅴ)

For the priests and the Levites were purified together, all of them were pure, and killed the passover for all the children of the captivity, and for their brethren the priests, and for themselves.
- Les sacrificateurs et les Lévites s'étaient purifiés de concert, tous étaient purs; ils immolèrent la Pâque pour tous les fils de la captivité, pour leurs frères les sacrificateurs, et pour eux-mêmes. (Ⅱ) - Purificati enim fuerant sacerdotes et Levitæ quasi unus : omnes mundi ad immolandum Pascha universis filiis transmigrationis, et fratribus suis sacerdotibus, et sibi. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃6 כי הטהרו הכהנים והלוים כאחד כלם טהורים וישחטו הפסח לכל בני הגולה ולאחיהם הכהנים ולהם (Ⅴ)

And the children of Israel, which were come again out of captivity, and all such as had separated themselves unto them from the filthiness of the heathen of the land, to seek the LORD God of Israel, did eat,
- Les enfants d'Israël revenus de la captivité mangèrent la Pâque, avec tous ceux qui s'étaient éloignés de l'impureté des nations du pays et qui se joignirent à eux pour chercher l'Éternel, le Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - Et comederunt filii Israël, qui reversi fuerant de transmigratione, et omnes qui se separaverant a coinquinatione gentium terræ ad eos, ut quærerent Dominum Deum Israël. (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃6 ויאכלו בני ישראל השבים מהגולה וכל הנבדל מטמאת גוי הארץ אלהם לדרש ליהוה אלהי ישראל (Ⅴ)

And kept the feast of unleavened bread seven days with joy: for the LORD had made them joyful, and turned the heart of the king of Assyria unto them, to strengthen their hands in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.
- Ils célébrèrent avec joie pendant sept jours la fête des pains sans levain, car l'Éternel les avait réjouis en disposant le roi d'Assyrie à les soutenir dans l'oeuvre de la maison de Dieu, du Dieu d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - Et fecerunt solemnitatem azymorum septem diebus in lætitia, quoniam lætificaverat eos Dominus, et converterat cor regis Assur ad eos, ut adjuvaret manus eorum in opere domus Domini Dei Israël. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃6 ויעשו חג מצות שבעת ימים בשמחה כי שמחם יהוה והסב לב מלך אשור עליהם לחזק ידיהם במלאכת בית האלהים אלהי ישראל פ (Ⅴ)
