And the sons of the prophets said unto Elisha, Behold now, the place where we dwell with thee is too strait for us.
- Les fils des prophètes dirent à Élisée: Voici, le lieu où nous sommes assis devant toi est trop étroit pour nous. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πον οἱ υἱοὶ τω̃ν προφητω̃ν πρὸς Ελισαιε ἰδοὺ δὴ ὁ τόπος ἐν ὡ̨̃ ἡμει̃ς οἰκου̃μεν ἐνώπιόν σου στενὸς ἀφ' ἡμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Dixerunt autem filii prophetarum ad Eliseum : Ecce locus in quo habitamus coram te, angustus est nobis. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃6 ויאמרו בני הנביאים אל אלישע הנה נא המקום אשר אנחנו ישבים שם לפניך צר ממנו (Ⅴ)

Let us go, we pray thee, unto Jordan, and take thence every man a beam, and let us make us a place there, where we may dwell. And he answered, Go ye.
- Allons jusqu'au Jourdain; nous prendrons là chacun une poutre, et nous nous y ferons un lieu d'habitation. Élisée répondit: Allez. (Ⅱ) - πορευθω̃μεν δὴ ἕως του̃ Ιορδάνου καὶ λάβωμεν ἐκει̃θεν ἀνὴρ εἱ̃ς δοκὸν μίαν καὶ ποιήσωμεν ἑαυτοι̃ς ἐκει̃ του̃ οἰκει̃ν ἐκει̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν δευ̃τε (Ⅲ) - Eamus usque ad Jordanem, et tollant singuli de silva materias singulas, ut ædificemus nobis ibi locum ad habitandum. Qui dixit : Ite. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃6 נלכה נא עד הירדן ונקחה משם איש קורה אחת ונעשה לנו שם מקום לשבת שם ויאמר לכו (Ⅴ)

And one said, Be content, I pray thee, and go with thy servants. And he answered, I will go.
- Et l'un d'eux dit: Consens à venir avec tes serviteurs. Il répondit: J'irai. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ εἱ̃ς ἐπιεικέως δευ̃ρο μετὰ τω̃ν δούλων σου καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἐγὼ πορεύσομαι (Ⅲ) - Et ait unus ex illis : Veni ergo et tu cum servis tuis. Respondit : Ego veniam. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃6 ויאמר האחד הואל נא ולך את עבדיך ויאמר אני אלך (Ⅴ)

So he went with them. And when they came to Jordan, they cut down wood.
- Il partit donc avec eux. Arrivés au Jourdain, ils coupèrent du bois. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπορεύθη μετ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἠ̃λθον εἰς τὸν Ιορδάνην καὶ ἔτεμνον τὰ ξύλα (Ⅲ) - Et abiit cum eis. Cumque venissent ad Jordanem, cædebant ligna. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃6 וילך אתם ויבאו הירדנה ויגזרו העצים (Ⅴ)

But as one was felling a beam, the axe head fell into the water: and he cried, and said, Alas, master! for it was borrowed.
- Et comme l'un d'eux abattait une poutre, le fer tomba dans l'eau. Il s'écria: Ah! mon seigneur, il était emprunté! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἰδοὺ ὁ εἱ̃ς καταβάλλων τὴν δοκόν καὶ τὸ σιδήριον ἐξέπεσεν εἰς τὸ ὕδωρ καὶ ἐβόησεν ὠ̃ κύριε καὶ αὐτὸ κεχρημένον (Ⅲ) - Accidit autem ut cum unus materiam succidisset, caderet ferrum securis in aquam : exclamavitque ille, et ait : Heu ! heu ! heu ! domine mi : et hoc ipsum mutuo acceperam. (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃6 ויהי האחד מפיל הקורה ואת הברזל נפל אל המים ויצעק ויאמר אהה אדני והוא שאול (Ⅴ)

And the man of God said, Where fell it? And he showed him the place. And he cut down a stick, and cast it in thither; and the iron did swim.
- L'homme de Dieu dit: Où est-il tombé? Et il lui montra la place. Alors Élisée coupa un morceau de bois, le jeta à la même place, et fit surnager le fer. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος του̃ θεου̃ που̃ ἔπεσεν καὶ ἔδειξεν αὐτω̨̃ τὸν τόπον καὶ ἀπέκνισεν ξύλον καὶ ἔρριψεν ἐκει̃ καὶ ἐπεπόλασεν τὸ σιδήριον (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem homo Dei : Ubi cecidit ? At ille monstravit ei locum. Præcidit ergo lignum, et misit illuc : natavitque ferrum, (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃6 ויאמר איש האלהים אנה נפל ויראהו את המקום ויקצב עץ וישלך שמה ויצף הברזל (Ⅴ)

Therefore said he, Take it up to thee. And he put out his hand, and took it.
- Puis il dit: Enlève-le! Et il avança la main, et le prit. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὕψωσον σαυτω̨̃ καὶ ἐξέτεινεν τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ καὶ ἔλαβεν αὐτό (Ⅲ) - et ait : Tolle. Qui extendit manum, et tulit illud.\ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃6 ויאמר הרם לך וישלח ידו ויקחהו פ (Ⅴ)

Then the king of Syria warred against Israel, and took counsel with his servants, saying, In such and such a place shall be my camp.
- Le roi de Syrie était en guerre avec Israël, et, dans un conseil qu'il tint avec ses serviteurs, il dit: Mon camp sera dans un tel lieu. (Ⅱ) - καὶ βασιλεὺς Συρίας ἠ̃ν πολεμω̃ν ἐν Ισραηλ καὶ ἐβουλεύσατο πρὸς τοὺς παι̃δας αὐτου̃ λέγων εἰς τὸν τόπον τόνδε τινὰ ελμωνι παρεμβαλω̃ (Ⅲ) - Rex autem Syriæ pugnabat contra Israël, consiliumque iniit cum servis suis, dicens : In loco illo et illo ponamus insidias. (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃6 ומלך ארם היה נלחם בישראל ויועץ אל עבדיו לאמר אל מקום פלני אלמני תחנתי (Ⅴ)

And the man of God sent unto the king of Israel, saying, Beware that thou pass not such a place; for thither the Syrians are come down.
- Mais l'homme de Dieu fit dire au roi d'Israël: Garde-toi de passer dans ce lieu, car les Syriens y descendent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν Ελισαιε πρὸς τὸν βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων φύλαξαι μὴ παρελθει̃ν ἐν τω̨̃ τόπω̨ τούτω̨ ὅτι ἐκει̃ Συρία κέκρυπται (Ⅲ) - Misit itaque vir Dei ad regem Israël, dicens : Cave ne transeas in locum illum : quia ibi Syri in insidiis sunt. (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃6 וישלח איש האלהים אל מלך ישראל לאמר השמר מעבר המקום הזה כי שם ארם נחתים (Ⅴ)

And the king of Israel sent to the place which the man of God told him and warned him of, and saved himself there, not once nor twice.
- Et le roi d'Israël envoya des gens, pour s'y tenir en observation, vers le lieu que lui avait mentionné et signalé l'homme de Dieu. Cela arriva non pas une fois ni deux fois. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ εἰς τὸν τόπον ὃν εἰ̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ Ελισαιε καὶ ἐφυλάξατο ἐκει̃θεν οὐ μίαν οὐδὲ δύο (Ⅲ) - Misit itaque rex Israël ad locum quem dixerat ei vir Dei, et præoccupavit eum, et observavit se ibi non semel neque bis. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃6 וישלח מלך ישראל אל המקום אשר אמר לו איש האלהים *והזהירה **והזהירו ונשמר שם לא אחת ולא שתים (Ⅴ)

Therefore the heart of the king of Syria was sore troubled for this thing; and he called his servants, and said unto them, Will ye not show me which of us is for the king of Israel?
- Le roi de Syrie en eut le coeur agité; il appela ses serviteurs, et leur dit: Ne voulez-vous pas me déclarer lequel de nous est pour le roi d'Israël? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξεκινήθη ἡ ψυχὴ βασιλέως Συρίας περὶ του̃ λόγου τούτου καὶ ἐκάλεσεν τοὺς παι̃δας αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτούς οὐκ ἀναγγελει̃τέ μοι τίς προδίδωσίν με βασιλει̃ Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Conturbatumque est cor regis Syriæ pro hac re : et convocatis servis suis, ait : Quare non indicatis mihi quis proditor mei sit apud regem Israël ? (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃6 ויסער לב מלך ארם על הדבר הזה ויקרא אל עבדיו ויאמר אליהם הלוא תגידו לי מי משלנו אל מלך ישראל (Ⅴ)

And one of his servants said, None, my lord, O king: but Elisha, the prophet that is in Israel, telleth the king of Israel the words that thou speakest in thy bedchamber.
- L'un de ses serviteurs répondit: Personne! ô roi mon seigneur; mais Élisée, le prophète, qui est en Israël, rapporte au roi d'Israël les paroles que tu prononces dans ta chambre à coucher. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν εἱ̃ς τω̃ν παίδων αὐτου̃ οὐχί κύριέ μου βασιλευ̃ ὅτι Ελισαιε ὁ προφήτης ὁ ἐν Ισραηλ ἀναγγέλλει τω̨̃ βασιλει̃ Ισραηλ πάντας τοὺς λόγους οὓς ἐὰν λαλήση̨ς ἐν τω̨̃ ταμιείω̨ του̃ κοιτω̃νός σου (Ⅲ) - Dixitque unus servorum ejus : Nequaquam, domine mi rex, sed Eliseus propheta qui est in Israël, indicat regi Israël omnia verba quæcumque locutus fueris in conclavi tuo. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃6 ויאמר אחד מעבדיו לוא אדני המלך כי אלישע הנביא אשר בישראל יגיד למלך ישראל את הדברים אשר תדבר בחדר משכבך (Ⅴ)

And he said, Go and spy where he is, that I may send and fetch him. And it was told him, saying, Behold, he is in Dothan.
- Et le roi dit: Allez et voyez où il est, et je le ferai prendre. On vint lui dire: Voici, il est à Dothan. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν δευ̃τε ἴδετε που̃ οὑ̃τος καὶ ἀποστείλας λήμψομαι αὐτόν καὶ ἀνήγγειλαν αὐτω̨̃ λέγοντες ἰδοὺ ἐν Δωθαϊμ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque eis : Ite, et videte ubi sit, ut mittam, et capiam eum. Annuntiaveruntque ei, dicentes : Ecce in Dothan. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃6 ויאמר לכו וראו איכה הוא ואשלח ואקחהו ויגד לו לאמר הנה בדתן (Ⅴ)

Therefore sent he thither horses, and chariots, and a great host: and they came by night, and compassed the city about.
- Il y envoya des chevaux, des chars et une forte troupe, qui arrivèrent de nuit et qui enveloppèrent la ville. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἐκει̃ ἵππον καὶ ἅρμα καὶ δύναμιν βαρει̃αν καὶ ἠ̃λθον νυκτὸς καὶ περιεκύκλωσαν τὴν πόλιν (Ⅲ) - Misit ergo illuc equos et currus, et robur exercitus : qui cum venissent nocte, circumdederunt civitatem. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃6 וישלח שמה סוסים ורכב וחיל כבד ויבאו לילה ויקפו על העיר (Ⅴ)

And when the servant of the man of God was risen early, and gone forth, behold, an host compassed the city both with horses and chariots. And his servant said unto him, Alas, my master! how shall we do?
- Le serviteur de l'homme de Dieu se leva de bon matin et sortit; et voici, une troupe entourait la ville, avec des chevaux et des chars. Et le serviteur dit à l'homme de Dieu: Ah! mon seigneur, comment ferons-nous? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὤρθρισεν ὁ λειτουργὸς Ελισαιε ἀναστη̃ναι καὶ ἐξη̃λθεν καὶ ἰδοὺ δύναμις κυκλου̃σα τὴν πόλιν καὶ ἵππος καὶ ἅρμα καὶ εἰ̃πεν τὸ παιδάριον πρὸς αὐτόν ὠ̃ κύριε πω̃ς ποιήσωμεν (Ⅲ) - Consurgens autem diluculo minister viri Dei, egressus vidit exercitum in circuitu civitatis, et equos et currus : nuntiavitque ei, dicens : Heu ! heu ! heu ! domine mi : quid faciemus ? (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃6 וישכם משרת איש האלהים לקום ויצא והנה חיל סובב את העיר וסוס ורכב ויאמר נערו אליו אהה אדני איכה נעשה (Ⅴ)

And he answered, Fear not: for they that be with us are more than they that be with them.
- Il répondit: Ne crains point, car ceux qui sont avec nous sont en plus grand nombre que ceux qui sont avec eux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε μὴ φοβου̃ ὅτι πλείους οἱ μεθ' ἡμω̃ν ὑπὲρ τοὺς μετ' αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - At ille respondit : Noli timere : plures enim nobiscum sunt, quam cum illis. (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃6 ויאמר אל תירא כי רבים אשר אתנו מאשר אותם (Ⅴ)

And Elisha prayed, and said, LORD, I pray thee, open his eyes, that he may see. And the LORD opened the eyes of the young man; and he saw: and, behold, the mountain was full of horses and chariots of fire round about Elisha.
- Élisée pria, et dit: Éternel, ouvre ses yeux, pour qu'il voie. Et l'Éternel ouvrit les yeux du serviteur, qui vit la montagne pleine de chevaux et de chars de feu autour d'Élisée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ προσεύξατο Ελισαιε καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριε διάνοιξον τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς του̃ παιδαρίου καὶ ἰδέτω καὶ διήνοιξεν κύριος τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃δεν καὶ ἰδοὺ τὸ ὄρος πλη̃ρες ἵππων καὶ ἅρμα πυρὸς περικύκλω̨ Ελισαιε (Ⅲ) - Cumque orasset Eliseus, ait : Domine, aperi oculos hujus, ut videat. Et aperuit Dominus oculos pueri, et vidit : et ecce mons plenus equorum et curruum igneorum in circuitu Elisei. (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃6 ויתפלל אלישע ויאמר יהוה פקח נא את עיניו ויראה ויפקח יהוה את עיני הנער וירא והנה ההר מלא סוסים ורכב אש סביבת אלישע (Ⅴ)

And when they came down to him, Elisha prayed unto the LORD, and said, Smite this people, I pray thee, with blindness. And he smote them with blindness according to the word of Elisha.
- Les Syriens descendirent vers Élisée. Il adressa alors cette prière à l'Éternel: Daigne frapper d'aveuglement cette nation! Et l'Éternel les frappa d'aveuglement, selon la parole d'Élisée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ κατέβησαν πρὸς αὐτόν καὶ προσηύξατο Ελισαιε πρὸς κύριον καὶ εἰ̃πεν πάταξον δὴ του̃το τὸ ἔθνος ἀορασία̨ καὶ ἐπάταξεν αὐτοὺς ἀορασία̨ κατὰ τὸ ῥη̃μα Ελισαιε (Ⅲ) - Hostes vero descenderunt ad eum : porro Eliseus oravit ad Dominum, dicens : Percute, obsecro, gentem hanc cæcitate. Percussitque eos Dominus ne viderent, juxta verbum Elisei. (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃6 וירדו אליו ויתפלל אלישע אל יהוה ויאמר הך נא את הגוי הזה בסנורים ויכם בסנורים כדבר אלישע (Ⅴ)

And Elisha said unto them, This is not the way, neither is this the city: follow me, and I will bring you to the man whom ye seek. But he led them to Samaria.
- Élisée leur dit: Ce n'est pas ici le chemin, et ce n'est pas ici la ville; suivez-moi, et je vous conduirai vers l'homme que vous cherchez. Et il les conduisit à Samarie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς αὐτοὺς Ελισαιε οὐχ αὕτη ἡ πόλις καὶ αὕτη ἡ ὁδός δευ̃τε ὀπίσω μου καὶ ἀπάξω ὑμα̃ς πρὸς τὸν ἄνδρα ὃν ζητει̃τε καὶ ἀπήγαγεν αὐτοὺς εἰς Σαμάρειαν (Ⅲ) - Dixit autem ad eos Eliseus : Non est hæc via, neque ista est civitas : sequimini me, et ostendam vobis virum quem quæritis. Duxit ergo eos in Samariam : (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃6 ויאמר אלהם אלישע לא זה הדרך ולא זה העיר לכו אחרי ואוליכה אתכם אל האיש אשר תבקשון וילך אותם שמרונה (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, when they were come into Samaria, that Elisha said, LORD, open the eyes of these men, that they may see. And the LORD opened their eyes, and they saw; and, behold, they were in the midst of Samaria.
- Lorsqu'ils furent entrés dans Samarie, Élisée dit: Éternel, ouvre les yeux de ces gens, pour qu'ils voient! Et l'Éternel ouvrit leurs yeux, et ils virent qu'ils étaient au milieu de Samarie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς εἰση̃λθον εἰς Σαμάρειαν καὶ εἰ̃πεν Ελισαιε ἄνοιξον δή κύριε τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἰδέτωσαν καὶ διήνοιξεν κύριος τοὺς ὀφθαλμοὺς αὐτω̃ν καὶ εἰ̃δον καὶ ἰδοὺ ἠ̃σαν ἐν μέσω̨ Σαμαρείας (Ⅲ) - cumque ingressi fuissent in Samariam, dixit Eliseus : Domine, aperi oculos istorum, ut videant. Aperuitque Dominus oculos eorum, et viderunt se esse in medio Samariæ. (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃6 ויהי כבאם שמרון ויאמר אלישע יהוה פקח את עיני אלה ויראו ויפקח יהוה את עיניהם ויראו והנה בתוך שמרון (Ⅴ)

And the king of Israel said unto Elisha, when he saw them, My father, shall I smite them? shall I smite them?
- Le roi d'Israël, en les voyant, dit à Élisée: Frapperai-je, frapperai-je, mon père? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ ὡς εἰ̃δεν αὐτούς εἰ πατάξας πατάξω πάτερ (Ⅲ) - Dixitque rex Israël ad Eliseum, cum vidisset eos : Numquid percutiam eos, pater mi ? (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃6 ויאמר מלך ישראל אל אלישע כראתו אותם האכה אכה אבי (Ⅴ)

And he answered, Thou shalt not smite them: wouldest thou smite those whom thou hast taken captive with thy sword and with thy bow? set bread and water before them, that they may eat and drink, and go to their master.
- Tu ne frapperas point, répondit Élisée; est-ce que tu frappes ceux que tu fais prisonniers avec ton épée et avec ton arc? Donne-leur du pain et de l'eau, afin qu'ils mangent et boivent; et qu'ils s'en aillent ensuite vers leur maître. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν οὐ πατάξεις εἰ μὴ οὓς ἠ̨χμαλώτευσας ἐν ῥομφαία̨ σου καὶ τόξω̨ σου σὺ τύπτεις παράθες ἄρτους καὶ ὕδωρ ἐνώπιον αὐτω̃ν καὶ φαγέτωσαν καὶ πιέτωσαν καὶ ἀπελθέτωσαν πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - At ille ait : Non percuties : neque enim cepisti eos gladio et arcu tuo, ut percutias : sed pone panem et aquam coram eis, ut comedant et bibant, et vadant ad dominum suum. (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃6 ויאמר לא תכה האשר שבית בחרבך ובקשתך אתה מכה שים לחם ומים לפניהם ויאכלו וישתו וילכו אל אדניהם (Ⅴ)

And he prepared great provision for them: and when they had eaten and drunk, he sent them away, and they went to their master. So the bands of Syria came no more into the land of Israel.
- Le roi d'Israël leur fit servir un grand repas, et ils mangèrent et burent; puis il les renvoya, et ils s'en allèrent vers leur maître. Et les troupes des Syriens ne revinrent plus sur le territoire d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ παρέθηκεν αὐτοι̃ς παράθεσιν μεγάλην καὶ ἔφαγον καὶ ἔπιον καὶ ἀπέστειλεν αὐτούς καὶ ἀπη̃λθον πρὸς τὸν κύριον αὐτω̃ν καὶ οὐ προσέθεντο ἔτι μονόζωνοι Συρίας του̃ ἐλθει̃ν εἰς γη̃ν Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Appositaque est eis ciborum magna præparatio, et comederunt et biberunt, et dimisit eos, abieruntque ad dominum suum, et ultra non venerunt latrones Syriæ in terram Israël.\ (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃6 ויכרה להם כרה גדולה ויאכלו וישתו וישלחם וילכו אל אדניהם ולא יספו עוד גדודי ארם לבוא בארץ ישראל פ (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass after this, that Benhadad king of Syria gathered all his host, and went up, and besieged Samaria.
- Après cela, Ben Hadad, roi de Syrie, ayant rassemblé toute son armée, monta et assiégea Samarie. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο μετὰ ταυ̃τα καὶ ἤθροισεν υἱὸς Αδερ βασιλεὺς Συρίας πα̃σαν τὴν παρεμβολὴν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀνέβη καὶ περιεκάθισεν Σαμάρειαν (Ⅲ) - Factum est autem post hæc, congregavit Benadad rex Syriæ universum exercitum suum, et ascendit, et obsidebat Samariam. (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃6 ויהי אחרי כן ויקבץ בן הדד מלך ארם את כל מחנהו ויעל ויצר על שמרון (Ⅴ)

And there was a great famine in Samaria: and, behold, they besieged it, until an ass's head was sold for fourscore pieces of silver, and the fourth part of a cab of dove's dung for five pieces of silver.
- Il y eut une grande famine dans Samarie; et ils la serrèrent tellement qu'une tête d'âne valait quatre-vingts sicles d'argent, et le quart d'un kab de fiente de pigeon cinq sicles d'argent. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λιμὸς μέγας ἐν Σαμαρεία̨ καὶ ἰδοὺ περιεκάθηντο ἐπ' αὐτήν ἕως οὑ̃ ἐγενήθη κεφαλὴ ὄνου πεντήκοντα σίκλων ἀργυρίου καὶ τέταρτον του̃ κάβου κόπρου περιστερω̃ν πέντε σίκλων ἀργυρίου (Ⅲ) - Factaque est fames magna in Samaria : et tamdiu obsessa est, donec venundaretur caput asini octoginta argenteis, et quarta pars cabi stercoris columbarum quinque argenteis. (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃6 ויהי רעב גדול בשמרון והנה צרים עליה עד היות ראש חמור בשמנים כסף ורבע הקב *חרייונים **דביונים[a] בחמשה כסף (Ⅴ)

And as the king of Israel was passing by upon the wall, there cried a woman unto him, saying, Help, my lord, O king.
- Et comme le roi passait sur la muraille, une femme lui cria: Sauve-moi, ô roi, mon seigneur! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἠ̃ν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ διαπορευόμενος ἐπὶ του̃ τείχους καὶ γυνὴ ἐβόησεν πρὸς αὐτὸν λέγουσα σω̃σον κύριε βασιλευ̃ (Ⅲ) - Cumque rex Israël transiret per murum, mulier quædam exclamavit ad eum, dicens : Salva me, domine mi rex. (Ⅳ) - 26 ׃6 ויהי מלך ישראל עבר על החמה ואשה צעקה אליו לאמר הושיעה אדני המלך (Ⅴ)

And he said, If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barnfloor, or out of the winepress?
- Il répondit: Si l'Éternel ne te sauve pas, avec quoi te sauverais-je? avec le produit de l'aire ou du pressoir? (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ μή σε σώσαι κύριος πόθεν σώσω σε μὴ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ἅλωνος ἢ ἀπὸ τη̃ς ληνου̃ (Ⅲ) - Qui ait : Non te salvat Dominus : unde te possum salvare ? de area, vel de torculari ? Dixitque ad eam rex : Quid tibi vis ? Quæ respondit : (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃6 ויאמר אל יושעך יהוה מאין אושיעך המן הגרן או מן היקב (Ⅴ)

And the king said unto her, What aileth thee? And she answered, This woman said unto me, Give thy son, that we may eat him to day, and we will eat my son to morrow.
- Et le roi lui dit: Qu'as-tu? Elle répondit: Cette femme-là m'a dit: Donne ton fils! nous le mangerons aujourd'hui, et demain nous mangerons mon fils. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν αὐτη̨̃ ὁ βασιλεύς τί ἐστίν σοι καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἡ γυνὴ αὕτη εἰ̃πεν πρός με δὸς τὸν υἱόν σου καὶ φαγόμεθα αὐτὸν σήμερον καὶ τὸν υἱόν μου καὶ φαγόμεθα αὐτὸν αὔριον (Ⅲ) - Mulier ista dixit mihi : Da filium tuum, ut comedamus eum hodie, et filium meum comedemus cras. (Ⅳ) - 28 ׃6 ויאמר לה המלך מה לך ותאמר האשה הזאת אמרה אלי תני את בנך ונאכלנו היום ואת בני נאכל מחר (Ⅴ)

So we boiled my son, and did eat him: and I said unto her on the next day, Give thy son, that we may eat him: and she hath hid her son.
- Nous avons fait cuire mon fils, et nous l'avons mangé. Et le jour suivant, je lui ai dit: Donne ton fils, et nous le mangerons. Mais elle a caché son fils. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἡψήσαμεν τὸν υἱόν μου καὶ ἐφάγομεν αὐτόν καὶ εἰ̃πον πρὸς αὐτὴν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ τη̨̃ δευτέρα̨ δὸς τὸν υἱόν σου καὶ φάγωμεν αὐτόν καὶ ἔκρυψεν τὸν υἱὸν αὐτη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Coximus ergo filium meum, et comedimus. Dixique ei die altera : Da filium tuum, ut comedamus eum. Quæ abscondit filium suum. (Ⅳ) - 29 ׃6 ונבשל את בני ונאכלהו ואמר אליה ביום האחר תני את בנך ונאכלנו ותחבא את בנה (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, when the king heard the words of the woman, that he rent his clothes; and he passed by upon the wall, and the people looked, and, behold, he had sackcloth within upon his flesh.
- Lorsque le roi entendit les paroles de cette femme, il déchira ses vêtements, en passant sur la muraille; et le peuple vit qu'il avait en dedans un sac sur son corps. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο ὡς ἤκουσεν ὁ βασιλεὺς Ισραηλ τοὺς λόγους τη̃ς γυναικός διέρρηξεν τὰ ἱμάτια αὐτου̃ καὶ αὐτὸς διεπορεύετο ἐπὶ του̃ τείχους καὶ εἰ̃δεν ὁ λαὸς τὸν σάκκον ἐπὶ τη̃ς σαρκὸς αὐτου̃ ἔσωθεν (Ⅲ) - Quod cum audisset rex, scidit vestimenta sua, et transibat per murum. Viditque omnis populus cilicium quo vestitus erat ad carnem intrinsecus. (Ⅳ) - 30 ׃6 ויהי כשמע המלך את דברי האשה ויקרע את בגדיו והוא עבר על החמה וירא העם והנה השק על בשרו מבית (Ⅴ)

Then he said, God do so and more also to me, if the head of Elisha the son of Shaphat shall stand on him this day.
- Le roi dit: Que Dieu me punisse dans toute sa rigueur, si la tête d'Élisée, fils de Schaphath, reste aujourd'hui sur lui! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν τάδε ποιήσαι μοι ὁ θεὸς καὶ τάδε προσθείη εἰ στήσεται ἡ κεφαλὴ Ελισαιε ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ σήμερον (Ⅲ) - Et ait rex : Hæc mihi faciat Deus, et hæc addat, si steterit caput Elisei filii Saphat super ipsum hodie. (Ⅳ) - 31 ׃6 ויאמר כה יעשה לי אלהים וכה יוסף אם יעמד ראש אלישע בן שפט עליו היום (Ⅴ)

But Elisha sat in his house, and the elders sat with him; and the king sent a man from before him: but ere the messenger came to him, he said to the elders, See ye how this son of a murderer hath sent to take away mine head? look, when the messenger cometh, shut the door, and hold him fast at the door: is not the sound of his master's feet behind him?
- Or Élisée était dans sa maison, et les anciens étaient assis auprès de lui. Le roi envoya quelqu'un devant lui. Mais avant que le messager soit arrivé, Élisée dit aux anciens: Voyez-vous que ce fils d'assassin envoie quelqu'un pour m'ôter la tête? Écoutez! quand le messager viendra, fermez la porte, et repoussez-le avec la porte: le bruit des pas de son maître ne se fait-il pas entendre derrière lui? (Ⅱ) - καὶ Ελισαιε ἐκάθητο ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ αὐτου̃ καὶ οἱ πρεσβύτεροι ἐκάθηντο μετ' αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀπέστειλεν ἄνδρα πρὸ προσώπου αὐτου̃ πρὶν ἐλθει̃ν τὸν ἄγγελον πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ αὐτὸς εἰ̃πεν πρὸς τοὺς πρεσβυτέρους εἰ οἴδατε ὅτι ἀπέστειλεν ὁ υἱὸς του̃ φονευτου̃ οὑ̃τος ἀφελει̃ν τὴν κεφαλήν μου ἴδετε ὡς ἂν ἔλθη̨ ὁ ἄγγελος ἀποκλείσατε τὴν θύραν καὶ παραθλίψατε αὐτὸν ἐν τη̨̃ θύρα̨ οὐχὶ φωνὴ τω̃ν ποδω̃ν του̃ κυρίου αὐτου̃ κατόπισθεν αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Eliseus autem sedebat in domo sua, et senes sedebant cum eo. Præmisit itaque virum : et antequam veniret nuntius ille, dixit ad senes : Numquid scitis quod miserit filius homicidæ hic, ut præcidatur caput meum ? videte ergo : cum venerit nuntius, claudite ostium, et non sinatis eum introire : ecce enim sonitus pedum domini ejus post eum est. (Ⅳ) - 32 ׃6 ואלישע ישב בביתו והזקנים ישבים אתו וישלח איש מלפניו בטרם יבא המלאך אליו והוא אמר אל הזקנים הראיתם כי שלח בן המרצח הזה להסיר את ראשי ראו כבא המלאך סגרו הדלת ולחצתם אתו בדלת הלוא קול רגלי אדניו אחריו (Ⅴ)

And while he yet talked with them, behold, the messenger came down unto him: and he said, Behold, this evil is of the LORD; what should I wait for the LORD any longer?
- Il leur parlait encore, et déjà le messager était descendu vers lui, et disait: Voici, ce mal vient de l'Éternel; qu'ai-je à espérer encore de l'Éternel? (Ⅱ) - ἔτι αὐτου̃ λαλου̃ντος μετ' αὐτω̃ν καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγελος κατέβη πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ εἰ̃πεν ἰδοὺ αὕτη ἡ κακία παρὰ κυρίου τί ὑπομείνω τω̨̃ κυρίω̨ ἔτι (Ⅲ) - Adhuc illo loquente eis, apparuit nuntius qui veniebat ad eum. Et ait : Ecce, tantum malum a Domino est : quid amplius expectabo a Domino ? (Ⅳ) - 33 ׃6 עודנו מדבר עמם והנה המלאך ירד אליו ויאמר הנה זאת הרעה מאת יהוה מה אוחיל ליהוה עוד ס (Ⅴ)
