Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me; and, behold, he formed grasshoppers in the beginning of the shooting up of the latter growth; and, lo, it was the latter growth after the king's mowings.
- Le Seigneur, l'Éternel, m'envoya cette vision. Voici, il formait des sauterelles, Au moment où le regain commençait à croître; C'était le regain après la coupe du roi. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐπιγονὴ ἀκρίδων ἐρχομένη ἑωθινή καὶ ἰδοὺ βρου̃χος εἱ̃ς Γωγ ὁ βασιλεύς (Ⅲ) - Hæc ostendit mihi Dominus Deus : et ecce fictor locustæ in principio germinantium serotini imbris, et ecce serotinus post tonsionem regis. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃7 כה הראני אדני יהוה והנה יוצר גבי בתחלת עלות הלקש והנה לקש אחר גזי המלך (Ⅴ)

And it came to pass, that when they had made an end of eating the grass of the land, then I said, O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
- Et comme elles dévoraient entièrement l'herbe de la terre, Je dis: Seigneur Éternel, pardonne donc! Comment Jacob subsistera-t-il? Car il est si faible! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐὰν συντελέση̨ του̃ καταφαγει̃ν τὸν χόρτον τη̃ς γη̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πα κύριε κύριε ἵλεως γενου̃ τίς ἀναστήσει τὸν Ιακωβ ὅτι ὀλιγοστός ἐστιν (Ⅲ) - Et factum est, cum consummasset comedere herbam terræ, dixi : Domine Deus, propitius esto, obsecro ; quis suscitabit Jacob, quia parvulus est ? (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃7 והיה אם כלה לאכול את עשב הארץ ואמר אדני יהוה סלח נא מי יקום יעקב כי קטן הוא (Ⅴ)

The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD.
- L'Éternel se repentit de cela. Cela n'arrivera pas, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - μετανόησον κύριε ἐπὶ τούτω̨ καὶ του̃το οὐκ ἔσται λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Misertus est Dominus super hoc : Non erit, dixit Dominus. (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃7 נחם יהוה על זאת לא תהיה אמר יהוה (Ⅴ)

Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and, behold, the Lord GOD called to contend by fire, and it devoured the great deep, and did eat up a part.
- Le Seigneur, l'Éternel, m'envoya cette vision. Voici, le Seigneur, l'Éternel, proclamait le châtiment par le feu; Et le feu dévorait le grand abîme Et dévorait le champ. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος καὶ ἰδοὺ ἐκάλεσεν τὴν δίκην ἐν πυρὶ κύριος καὶ κατέφαγε τὴν ἄβυσσον τὴν πολλὴν καὶ κατέφαγεν τὴν μερίδα (Ⅲ) - Hæc ostendit mihi Dominus Deus : et ecce vocabat judicium ad ignem Dominus Deus ; et devoravit abyssum multam, et comedit simul partem. (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃7 כה הראני אדני יהוה והנה קרא לרב באש אדני יהוה ותאכל את תהום רבה ואכלה את החלק (Ⅴ)

Then said I, O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small.
- Je dis: Seigneur Éternel, arrête donc! Comment Jacob subsistera-t-il? Car il est si faible! (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πα κύριε κύριε κόπασον δή τίς ἀναστήσει τὸν Ιακωβ ὅτι ὀλιγοστός ἐστιν (Ⅲ) - Et dixi : Domine Deus, quiesce, obsecro ; quis suscitabit Jacob, quia parvulus est ? (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃7 ואמר אדני יהוה חדל נא מי יקום יעקב כי קטן הוא (Ⅴ)

The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD.
- L'Éternel se repentit de cela. Cela non plus n'arrivera pas, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - μετανόησον κύριε ἐπὶ τούτω̨ καὶ του̃το οὐ μὴ γένηται λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Misertus est Dominus super hoc : Sed et istud non erit, dixit Dominus Deus. (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃7 נחם יהוה על זאת גם היא לא תהיה אמר אדני יהוה ס (Ⅴ)

Thus he shewed me: and, behold, the LORD stood upon a wall made by a plumbline, with a plumbline in his hand.
- Il m'envoya cette vision. Voici, le Seigneur se tenait sur un mur tiré au cordeau, Et il avait un niveau dans la main. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος καὶ ἰδοὺ ἀνὴρ ἑστηκὼς ἐπὶ τείχους ἀδαμαντίνου καὶ ἐν τη̨̃ χειρὶ αὐτου̃ ἀδάμας (Ⅲ) - Hæc ostendit mihi Dominus : et ecce Dominus stans super murum litum, et in manu ejus trulla cæmentarii. (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃7 כה הראני והנה אדני נצב על חומת אנך ובידו אנך (Ⅴ)

And the LORD said unto me, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A plumbline. Then said the LORD, Behold, I will set a plumbline in the midst of my people Israel: I will not again pass by them any more:
- L'Éternel me dit: Que vois-tu, Amos? Je répondis: Un niveau. Et le Seigneur dit: Je mettrai le niveau au milieu de mon peuple d'Israël, Je ne lui pardonnerai plus; (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με τί σὺ ὁρα̨̃ς Αμως καὶ εἰ̃πα ἀδάμαντα καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ ἐντάσσω ἀδάμαντα ἐν μέσω̨ λαου̃ μου Ισραηλ οὐκέτι μὴ προσθω̃ του̃ παρελθει̃ν αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me : Quid tu vides, Amos ? Et dixi : Trullam cæmentarii. Et dixit Dominus : [Ecce ego ponam trullam in medio populi mei Israël ;/ non adjiciam ultra superinducere eum./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃7 ויאמר יהוה אלי מה אתה ראה עמוס ואמר אנך ויאמר אדני הנני שם אנך בקרב עמי ישראל לא אוסיף עוד עבור לו (Ⅴ)

And the high places of Isaac shall be desolate, and the sanctuaries of Israel shall be laid waste; and I will rise against the house of Jeroboam with the sword.
- Les hauts lieux d'Isaac seront ravagés; Les sanctuaires d'Israël seront détruits, Et je me lèverai contre la maison de Jéroboam avec l'épée. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀφανισθήσονται βωμοὶ του̃ γέλωτος καὶ αἱ τελεταὶ του̃ Ισραηλ ἐξερημωθήσονται καὶ ἀναστήσομαι ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον Ιεροβοαμ ἐν ῥομφαία̨ (Ⅲ) - Et demolientur excelsa idoli,/ et sanctificationes Israël desolabuntur,/ et consurgam super domum Jeroboam in gladio.] (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃7 ונשמו במות ישחק ומקדשי ישראל יחרבו וקמתי על בית ירבעם בחרב פ (Ⅴ)

Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, Amos hath conspired against thee in the midst of the house of Israel: the land is not able to bear all his words.
- Alors Amatsia, prêtre de Béthel, fit dire à Jéroboam, roi d'Israël: Amos conspire contre toi au milieu de la maison d'Israël; le pays ne peut supporter toutes ses paroles. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξαπέστειλεν Αμασιας ὁ ἱερεὺς Βαιθηλ πρὸς Ιεροβοαμ βασιλέα Ισραηλ λέγων συστροφὰς ποιει̃ται κατὰ σου̃ Αμως ἐν μέσω̨ οἴκου Ισραηλ οὐ μὴ δύνηται ἡ γη̃ ὑπενεγκει̃ν ἅπαντας τοὺς λόγους αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Et misit Amasias, sacerdos Bethel, ad Jeroboam, regem Israël, dicens : Rebellavit contra te Amos in medio domus Israël ; non poterit terra sustinere universos sermones ejus. (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃7 וישלח אמציה כהן בית אל אל ירבעם מלך ישראל לאמר קשר עליך עמוס בקרב בית ישראל לא תוכל הארץ להכיל את כל דבריו (Ⅴ)

For thus Amos saith, Jeroboam shall die by the sword, and Israel shall surely be led away captive out of their own land.
- Car voici ce que dit Amos: Jéroboam mourra par l'épée, et Israël sera emmené captif loin de son pays. (Ⅱ) - διότι τάδε λέγει Αμως ἐν ῥομφαία̨ τελευτήσει Ιεροβοαμ ὁ δὲ Ισραηλ αἰχμάλωτος ἀχθήσεται ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Hæc enim dicit Amos : In gladio morietur Jeroboam, et Israël captivus migrabit de terra sua. (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃7 כי כה אמר עמוס בחרב ימות ירבעם וישראל גלה יגלה מעל אדמתו ס (Ⅴ)

Also Amaziah said unto Amos, O thou seer, go, flee thee away into the land of Judah, and there eat bread, and prophesy there:
- Et Amatsia dit à Amos: Homme à visions, va-t-en, fuis dans le pays de Juda; manges-y ton pain, et là tu prophétiseras. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν Αμασιας πρὸς Αμως ὁ ὁρω̃ν βάδιζε ἐκχώρησον εἰς γη̃ν Ιουδα καὶ ἐκει̃ καταβίου καὶ ἐκει̃ προφητεύσεις (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Amasias ad Amos : Qui vides, gradere : fuge in terram Juda, et comede ibi panem, et prophetabis ibi. (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃7 ויאמר אמציה אל עמוס חזה לך ברח לך אל ארץ יהודה ואכל שם לחם ושם תנבא (Ⅴ)

But prophesy not again any more at Bethel: for it is the king's chapel, and it is the king's court.
- Mais ne continue pas à prophétiser à Béthel, car c'est un sanctuaire du roi, et c'est une maison royale. (Ⅱ) - εἰς δὲ Βαιθηλ οὐκέτι μὴ προσθη̨̃ς του̃ προφητευ̃σαι ὅτι ἁγίασμα βασιλέως ἐστὶν καὶ οἰ̃κος βασιλείας ἐστίν (Ⅲ) - Et in Bethel non adjicies ultra ut prophetes, quia sanctificatio regis est, et domus regni est. (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃7 ובית אל לא תוסיף עוד להנבא כי מקדש מלך הוא ובית ממלכה הוא ס (Ⅴ)

Then answered Amos, and said to Amaziah, I was no prophet, neither was I a prophet's son; but I was an herdman, and a gatherer of sycomore fruit:
- Amos répondit à Amatsia: Je ne suis ni prophète, ni fils de prophète; mais je suis berger, et je cultive des sycomores. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀπεκρίθη Αμως καὶ εἰ̃πεν πρὸς Αμασιαν οὐκ ἤμην προφήτης ἐγὼ οὐδὲ υἱὸς προφήτου ἀλλ' ἢ αἰπόλος ἤμην καὶ κνίζων συκάμινα (Ⅲ) - Responditque Amos, et dixit ad Amasiam : Non sum propheta, et non sum filius prophetæ : sed armentarius ego sum vellicans sycomoros. (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃7 ויען עמוס ויאמר אל אמציה לא נביא אנכי ולא בן נביא אנכי כי בוקר אנכי ובולס שקמים (Ⅴ)

And the LORD took me as I followed the flock, and the LORD said unto me, Go, prophesy unto my people Israel.
- L'Éternel m'a pris derrière le troupeau, et l'Éternel m'a dit: Va, prophétise à mon peuple d'Israël. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀνέλαβέν με κύριος ἐκ τω̃ν προβάτων καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με βάδιζε προφήτευσον ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ισραηλ (Ⅲ) - Et tulit me Dominus cum sequerer gregem, et dixit Dominus ad me : Vade, propheta ad populum meum Israël. (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃7 ויקחני יהוה מאחרי הצאן ויאמר אלי יהוה לך הנבא אל עמי ישראל (Ⅴ)

Now therefore hear thou the word of the LORD: Thou sayest, Prophesy not against Israel, and drop not thy word against the house of Isaac.
- Écoute maintenant la parole de l'Éternel, toi qui dis: Ne prophétise pas contre Israël, et ne parle pas contre la maison d'Isaac. (Ⅱ) - καὶ νυ̃ν ἄκουε λόγον κυρίου σὺ λέγεις μὴ προφήτευε ἐπὶ τὸν Ισραηλ καὶ οὐ μὴ ὀχλαγωγήση̨ς ἐπὶ τὸν οἰ̃κον Ιακωβ (Ⅲ) - Et nunc audi verbum Domini : [Tu dicis : Non prophetabis super Israël,/ et non stillabis super domum idoli./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃7 ועתה שמע דבר יהוה אתה אמר לא תנבא על ישראל ולא תטיף על בית ישחק (Ⅴ)

Therefore thus saith the LORD; Thy wife shall be an harlot in the city, and thy sons and thy daughters shall fall by the sword, and thy land shall be divided by line; and thou shalt die in a polluted land: and Israel shall surely go into captivity forth of his land.
- A cause de cela, voici ce que dit l'Éternel: Ta femme se prostituera dans la ville, tes fils et tes filles tomberont par l'épée, ton champ sera partagé au cordeau; et toi, tu mourras sur une terre impure, et Israël sera emmené captif loin de son pays. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το τάδε λέγει κύριος ἡ γυνή σου ἐν τη̨̃ πόλει πορνεύσει καὶ οἱ υἱοί σου καὶ αἱ θυγατέρες σου ἐν ῥομφαία̨ πεσου̃νται καὶ ἡ γη̃ σου ἐν σχοινίω̨ καταμετρηθήσεται καὶ σὺ ἐν γη̨̃ ἀκαθάρτω̨ τελευτήσεις ὁ δὲ Ισραηλ αἰχμάλωτος ἀχθήσεται ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Propter hoc hæc dicit Dominus :/ Uxor tua in civitate fornicabitur,/ et filii tui et filiæ tuæ in gladio cadent,/ et humus tua funiculo metietur :/ et tu in terra polluta morieris,/ et Israël captivus migrabit de terra sua.] (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃7 לכן כה אמר יהוה אשתך בעיר תזנה ובניך ובנתיך בחרב יפלו ואדמתך בחבל תחלק ואתה על אדמה טמאה תמות וישראל גלה יגלה מעל אדמתו ס (Ⅴ)
