- Observe mes préceptes, et tu vivras; Garde mes enseignements comme la prunelle de tes yeux. (Ⅱ) - Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye. (Ⅲ) - φύλαξον ἐμὰς ἐντολάς καὶ βιώσεις τοὺς δὲ ἐμοὺς λόγους ὥσπερ κόρας ὀμμάτων (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃7 שמר מצותי וחיה ותורתי כאישון עיניך (Ⅴ)

liga eam in digitis tuis,/ scribe illam in tabulis cordis tui./
- Lie-les sur tes doigts, Écris-les sur la table de ton coeur. (Ⅱ) - Bind them upon thy fingers, write them upon the table of thine heart. (Ⅲ) - περίθου δὲ αὐτοὺς σοι̃ς δακτύλοις ἐπίγραψον δὲ ἐπὶ τὸ πλάτος τη̃ς καρδίας σου (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃7 קשרם על אצבעתיך כתבם על לוח לבך (Ⅴ)

Dic sapientiæ : Soror mea es,/ et prudentiam voca amicam tuam :/
- Dis à la sagesse: Tu es ma soeur! Et appelle l'intelligence ton amie, (Ⅱ) - Say unto wisdom, Thou art my sister; and call understanding thy kinswoman: (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃πον τὴν σοφίαν σὴν ἀδελφὴν εἰ̃ναι τὴν δὲ φρόνησιν γνώριμον περιποίησαι σεαυτω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃7 אמר לחכמה אחתי את ומדע לבינה תקרא (Ⅴ)

ut custodiant te a muliere extranea,/ et ab aliena quæ verba sua dulcia facit./
- Pour qu'elles te préservent de la femme étrangère, De l'étrangère qui emploie des paroles doucereuses. (Ⅱ) - That they may keep thee from the strange woman, from the stranger which flattereth with her words. (Ⅲ) - ἵνα σε τηρήση̨ ἀπὸ γυναικὸς ἀλλοτρίας καὶ πονηρα̃ς ἐάν σε λόγοις τοι̃ς πρὸς χάριν ἐμβάληται (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃7 לשמרך מאשה זרה מנכריה אמריה החליקה (Ⅴ)

- J'étais à la fenêtre de ma maison, Et je regardais à travers mon treillis. (Ⅱ) - For at the window of my house I looked through my casement, (Ⅲ) - ἀπὸ γὰρ θυρίδος ἐκ του̃ οἴκου αὐτη̃ς εἰς τὰς πλατείας παρακύπτουσα (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃7 כי בחלון ביתי בעד אשנבי נשקפתי (Ⅴ)

et video parvulos ;/ considero vecordem juvenem,/
- J'aperçus parmi les stupides, Je remarquai parmi les jeunes gens un garçon dépourvu de sens. (Ⅱ) - And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding, (Ⅲ) - ὃν ἂν ἴδη̨ τω̃ν ἀφρόνων τέκνων νεανίαν ἐνδεη̃ φρενω̃ν (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃7 וארא בפתאים אבינה בבנים נער חסר לב (Ⅴ)

- Il passait dans la rue, près de l'angle où se tenait une de ces étrangères, Et il se dirigeait lentement du côté de sa demeure: (Ⅱ) - Passing through the street near her corner; and he went the way to her house, (Ⅲ) - παραπορευόμενον παρὰ γωνίαν ἐν διόδοις οἴκων αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃7 עבר בשוק אצל פנה ודרך ביתה יצעד (Ⅴ)

- C'était au crépuscule, pendant la soirée, Au milieu de la nuit et de l'obscurité. (Ⅱ) - In the twilight, in the evening, in the black and dark night: (Ⅲ) - καὶ λαλου̃ντα ἐν σκότει ἑσπερινω̨̃ ἡνίκα ἂν ἡσυχία νυκτερινὴ ἠ̨̃ καὶ γνοφώδης (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃7 בנשף בערב יום באישון לילה ואפלה (Ⅴ)

Et ecce occurrit illi mulier ornatu meretricio,/ præparata ad capiendas animas :/ garrula et vaga,/
- Et voici, il fut abordé par une femme Ayant la mise d'une prostituée et la ruse dans le coeur. (Ⅱ) - And, behold, there met him a woman with the attire of an harlot, and subtil of heart. (Ⅲ) - ἡ δὲ γυνὴ συναντα̨̃ αὐτω̨̃ εἰ̃δος ἔχουσα πορνικόν ἣ ποιει̃ νέων ἐξίπτασθαι καρδίας (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃7 והנה אשה לקראתו שית זונה ונצרת לב (Ⅴ)

quietis impatiens,/ nec valens in domo consistere pedibus suis ;/
- Elle était bruyante et rétive; Ses pieds ne restaient point dans sa maison; (Ⅱ) - (She is loud and stubborn; her feet abide not in her house: (Ⅲ) - ἀνεπτερωμένη δέ ἐστιν καὶ ἄσωτος ἐν οἴκω̨ δὲ οὐχ ἡσυχάζουσιν οἱ πόδες αὐτη̃ς (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃7 המיה היא וסררת בביתה לא ישכנו רגליה (Ⅴ)

nunc foris, nunc in plateis,/ nunc juxta angulos insidians./
- Tantôt dans la rue, tantôt sur les places, Et près de tous les angles, elle était aux aguets. (Ⅱ) - Now is she without, now in the streets, and lieth in wait at every corner.) (Ⅲ) - χρόνον γάρ τινα ἔξω ῥέμβεται χρόνον δὲ ἐν πλατείαις παρὰ πα̃σαν γωνίαν ἐνεδρεύει (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃7 פעם בחוץ פעם ברחבות ואצל כל פנה תארב (Ⅴ)

Apprehensumque deosculatur juvenem,/ et procaci vultu blanditur, dicens :/
- Elle le saisit et l'embrassa, Et d'un air effronté lui dit: (Ⅱ) - So she caught him, and kissed him, and with an impudent face said unto him, (Ⅲ) - εἰ̃τα ἐπιλαβομένη ἐφίλησεν αὐτόν ἀναιδει̃ δὲ προσώπω̨ προσει̃πεν αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃7 והחזיקה בו[C][c] ונשקה לו העזה פניה ותאמר לו (Ⅴ)

- Je devais un sacrifice d'actions de grâces, Aujourd'hui j'ai accompli mes voeux. (Ⅱ) - I have peace offerings with me; this day have I payed my vows. (Ⅲ) - θυσία εἰρηνική μοί ἐστιν σήμερον ἀποδίδωμι τὰς εὐχάς μου (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃7 זבחי שלמים עלי היום שלמתי נדרי (Ⅴ)

idcirco egressa sum in occursum tuum,/ desiderans te videre, et reperi./
- C'est pourquoi je suis sortie au-devant de toi Pour te chercher, et je t'ai trouvé. (Ⅱ) - Therefore came I forth to meet thee, diligently to seek thy face, and I have found thee. (Ⅲ) - ἕνεκα τούτου ἐξη̃λθον εἰς συνάντησίν σοι ποθου̃σα τὸ σὸν πρόσωπον εὕρηκά σε (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃7 על כן יצאתי לקראתך לשחר פניך ואמצאך (Ⅴ)

Intexui funibus lectulum meum ;/ stravi tapetibus pictis ex Ægypto :/
- J'ai orné mon lit de couvertures, De tapis de fil d'Égypte; (Ⅱ) - I have decked my bed with coverings of tapestry, with carved works, with fine linen of Egypt. (Ⅲ) - κειρίαις τέτακα τὴν κλίνην μου ἀμφιτάποις δὲ ἔστρωκα τοι̃ς ἀπ' Αἰγύπτου (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃7 מרבדים רבדתי ערשי חטבות אטון מצרים (Ⅴ)

aspersi cubile meum myrrha,/ et aloë, et cinnamomo./
- J'ai parfumé ma couche De myrrhe, d'aloès et de cinnamome. (Ⅱ) - I have perfumed my bed with myrrh, aloes, and cinnamon. (Ⅲ) - διέρραγκα τὴν κοίτην μου κρόκω̨ τὸν δὲ οἰ̃κόν μου κινναμώμω̨ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃7 נפתי משכבי מר אהלים וקנמון (Ⅴ)

Veni, inebriemur uberibus,/ et fruamur cupitis amplexibus donec illucescat dies./
- Viens, enivrons-nous d'amour jusqu'au matin, Livrons-nous joyeusement à la volupté. (Ⅱ) - Come, let us take our fill of love until the morning: let us solace ourselves with loves. (Ⅲ) - ἐλθὲ καὶ ἀπολαύσωμεν φιλίας ἕως ὄρθρου δευ̃ρο καὶ ἐγκυλισθω̃μεν ἔρωτι (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃7 לכה נרוה דדים עד הבקר נתעלסה באהבים (Ⅴ)

Non est enim vir in domo sua :/ abiit via longissima :/
- Car mon mari n'est pas à la maison, Il est parti pour un voyage lointain; (Ⅱ) - For the goodman is not at home, he is gone a long journey: (Ⅲ) - οὐ γὰρ πάρεστιν ὁ ἀνήρ μου ἐν οἴκω̨ πεπόρευται δὲ ὁδὸν μακρὰν (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃7 כי אין האיש בביתו הלך בדרך מרחוק (Ⅴ)

sacculum pecuniæ secum tulit ;/ in die plenæ lunæ reversurus est in domum suam./
- Il a pris avec lui le sac de l'argent, Il ne reviendra à la maison qu'à la nouvelle lune. (Ⅱ) - He hath taken a bag of money with him, and will come home at the day appointed. (Ⅲ) - ἔνδεσμον ἀργυρίου λαβὼν ἐν χειρὶ αὐτου̃ δι' ἡμερω̃ν πολλω̃ν ἐπανήξει εἰς τὸν οἰ̃κον αὐτου̃ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃7 צרור הכסף לקח בידו ליום הכסא יבא ביתו (Ⅴ)

Irretivit eum multis sermonibus,/ et blanditiis labiorum protraxit illum./
- Elle le séduisit à force de paroles, Elle l'entraîna par ses lèvres doucereuses. (Ⅱ) - With her much fair speech she caused him to yield, with the flattering of her lips she forced him. Statim eam sequitur quasi bos ductus ad victimam,/ et quasi agnus lasciviens,/ et ignorans quod ad vincula stultus trahatur :/
- Il se mit tout à coup à la suivre, Comme le boeuf qui va à la boucherie, Comme un fou qu'on lie pour le châtier, (Ⅱ) - He goeth after her straightway, as an ox goeth to the slaughter, or as a fool to the correction of the stocks; (Ⅲ) - ὁ δὲ ἐπηκολούθησεν αὐτη̨̃ κεπφωθείς ὥσπερ δὲ βου̃ς ἐπὶ σφαγὴν ἄγεται καὶ ὥσπερ κύων ἐπὶ δεσμοὺς (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃7 הולך אחריה פתאם כשור אל טבח[U] יבוא וכעכס אל מוסר אויל (Ⅴ)

donec transfigat sagitta jecur ejus,/ velut si avis festinet ad laqueum,/ et nescit quod de periculo animæ illius agitur./
- Jusqu'à ce qu'une flèche lui perce le foie, Comme l'oiseau qui se précipite dans le filet, Sans savoir que c'est au prix de sa vie. (Ⅱ) - Till a dart strike through his liver; as a bird hasteth to the snare, and knoweth not that it is for his life. (Ⅲ) - ἢ ὡς ἔλαφος τοξεύματι πεπληγὼς εἰς τὸ ἡ̃παρ σπεύδει δὲ ὥσπερ ὄρνεον εἰς παγίδα οὐκ εἰδὼς ὅτι περὶ ψυχη̃ς τρέχει (Ⅳ) - 23 ׃7 עד יפלח חץ כבדו כמהר צפור אל פח ולא ידע כי בנפשו הוא פ (Ⅴ)

Nunc ergo, fili mi, audi me,/ et attende verbis oris mei./
- Et maintenant, mes fils, écoutez-moi, Et soyez attentifs aux paroles de ma bouche. (Ⅱ) - Hearken unto me now therefore, O ye children, and attend to the words of my mouth. (Ⅲ) - νυ̃ν οὐ̃ν υἱέ ἄκουέ μου καὶ πρόσεχε ῥήμασιν στόματός μου (Ⅳ) - 24 ׃7 ועתה בנים שמעו לי והקשיבו לאמרי פי (Ⅴ)

Ne abstrahatur in viis illius mens tua,/ neque decipiaris semitis ejus ;/
- Que ton coeur ne se détourne pas vers les voies d'une telle femme, Ne t'égare pas dans ses sentiers. (Ⅱ) - Let not thine heart decline to her ways, go not astray in her paths. (Ⅲ) - μὴ ἐκκλινάτω εἰς τὰς ὁδοὺς αὐτη̃ς ἡ καρδία σου (Ⅳ) - 25 ׃7 אל ישט אל דרכיה לבך אל תתע בנתיבותיה (Ⅴ)

- Car elle a fait tomber beaucoup de victimes, Et ils sont nombreux, tous ceux qu'elle a tués. (Ⅱ) - For she hath cast down many wounded: yea, many strong men have been slain by her. - Sa maison, c'est le chemin du séjour des morts; Il descend vers les demeures de la mort. (Ⅱ) - Her house is the way to hell, going down to the chambers of death. (Ⅲ) - ὁδοὶ ἅ̨δου ὁ οἰ̃κος αὐτη̃ς κατάγουσαι εἰς τὰ ταμίεια του̃ θανάτου (Ⅳ) - 27 ׃7 דרכי שאול ביתה ירדות אל חדרי מות פ (Ⅴ)
