Moreover the LORD said unto me, Take thee a great roll, and write in it with a man's pen concerning Mahershalalhashbaz.
- L'Éternel me dit: Prends une grande table, et écris dessus, d'une manière intelligible: Qu'on se hâte de piller, qu'on se précipite sur le butin. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με λαβὲ σεαυτω̨̃ τόμον καινου̃ μεγάλου καὶ γράψον εἰς αὐτὸν γραφίδι ἀνθρώπου του̃ ὀξέως προνομὴν ποιη̃σαι σκύλων πάρεστιν γάρ (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me : Sume tibi librum grandem, et scribe in eo stylo hominis : Velociter spolia detrahe, cito prædare. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃8 ויאמר יהוה אלי קח לך גליון גדול וכתב עליו בחרט אנוש למהר שלל חש בז (Ⅴ)

And I took unto me faithful witnesses to record, Uriah the priest, and Zechariah the son of Jeberechiah.
- Je pris avec moi des témoins dignes de foi, le sacrificateur Urie, et Zacharie, fils de Bérékia. (Ⅱ) - καὶ μάρτυράς μοι ποίησον πιστοὺς ἀνθρώπους τὸν Ουριαν καὶ τὸν Ζαχαριαν υἱὸν Βαραχιου (Ⅲ) - Et adhibui mihi testes fideles, Uriam sacerdotem, et Zachariam, filium Barachiæ : (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃8 ואעידה לי עדים נאמנים את אוריה הכהן ואת זכריהו בן יברכיהו (Ⅴ)

And I went unto the prophetess; and she conceived, and bare a son. Then said the LORD to me, Call his name Mahershalalhashbaz.
- Je m'étais approché de la prophétesse; elle conçut, et elle enfanta un fils. L'Éternel me dit: Donne-lui pour nom Maher Schalal Chasch Baz. (Ⅱ) - καὶ προση̃λθον πρὸς τὴν προφη̃τιν καὶ ἐν γαστρὶ ἔλαβεν καὶ ἔτεκεν υἱόν καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριός μοι κάλεσον τὸ ὄνομα αὐτου̃ ταχέως σκύλευσον ὀξέως προνόμευσον (Ⅲ) - et accessi ad prophetissam, et concepit, et peperit filium. Et dixit Dominus ad me : Voca nomen ejus : Accelera spolia detrahere ; Festina prædari : (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃8 ואקרב אל הנביאה ותהר ותלד בן ויאמר יהוה אלי קרא שמו מהר שלל חש בז (Ⅴ)

For before the child shall have knowledge to cry, My father, and my mother, the riches of Damascus and the spoil of Samaria shall be taken away before the king of Assyria.
- Car, avant que l'enfant sache dire: Mon père! ma mère! on emportera devant le roi d'Assyrie les richesses de Damas et le butin de Samarie. (Ⅱ) - διότι πρὶν ἢ γνω̃ναι τὸ παιδίον καλει̃ν πατέρα ἢ μητέρα λήμψεται δύναμιν Δαμασκου̃ καὶ τὰ σκυ̃λα Σαμαρείας ἔναντι βασιλέως 'Ασσυρίων (Ⅲ) - quia antequam sciat puer vocare patrem suum et matrem suam, auferetur fortitudo Damasci, et spolia Samariæ, coram rege Assyriorum.\ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃8 כי בטרם ידע הנער קרא אבי ואמי ישא את חיל דמשק ואת שלל שמרון לפני מלך אשור ס (Ⅴ)

The LORD spake also unto me again, saying,
- L'Éternel me parla encore, et me dit: (Ⅱ) - καὶ προσέθετο κύριος λαλη̃σαί μοι ἔτι (Ⅲ) - Et adjecit Dominus loqui ad me adhuc, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃8 ויסף יהוה דבר אלי עוד לאמר (Ⅴ)

Forasmuch as this people refuseth the waters of Shiloah that go softly, and rejoice in Rezin and Remaliah's son;
- Parce que ce peuple a méprisé les eaux de Siloé qui coulent doucement Et qu'il s'est réjoui au sujet de Retsin et du fils de Remalia, Voici, le Seigneur va faire monter (Ⅱ) - διὰ τὸ μὴ βούλεσθαι τὸν λαὸν του̃τον τὸ ὕδωρ του̃ Σιλωαμ τὸ πορευόμενον ἡσυχη̨̃ ἀλλὰ βούλεσθαι ἔχειν τὸν Ραασσων καὶ τὸν υἱὸν Ρομελιου βασιλέα ἐφ' ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Pro eo quod abjecit populus iste/ aquas Siloë, quæ vadunt cum silentio,/ et assumpsit magis Rasin,/ et filium Romeliæ :/ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃8 יען כי מאס העם הזה את מי השלח ההלכים לאט ומשוש את רצין ובן רמליהו (Ⅴ)

Now therefore, behold, the Lord bringeth up upon them the waters of the river, strong and many, even the king of Assyria, and all his glory: and he shall come up over all his channels, and go over all his banks:
- contre eux Les puissantes et grandes eaux du fleuve (Le roi d'Assyrie et toute sa gloire); Il s'élèvera partout au-dessus de son lit, Et il se répandra sur toutes ses rives; (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το ἰδοὺ ἀνάγει κύριος ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς τὸ ὕδωρ του̃ ποταμου̃ τὸ ἰσχυρὸν καὶ τὸ πολύ τὸν βασιλέα τω̃ν 'Ασσυρίων καὶ τὴν δόξαν αὐτου̃ καὶ ἀναβήσεται ἐπὶ πα̃σαν φάραγγα ὑμω̃ν καὶ περιπατήσει ἐπὶ πα̃ν τει̃χος ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - propter hoc ecce Dominus adducet super eos/ aquas fluminis fortes et multas,/ regem Assyriorum, et omnem gloriam ejus,/ et ascendet super omnes rivos ejus,/ et fluet super universas ripas ejus ;/ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃8 ולכן הנה אדני מעלה עליהם את מי הנהר העצומים והרבים את מלך אשור ואת כל כבודו ועלה על כל אפיקיו והלך על כל גדותיו (Ⅴ)

And he shall pass through Judah; he shall overflow and go over, he shall reach even to the neck; and the stretching out of his wings shall fill the breadth of thy land, O Immanuel.
- Il pénétrera dans Juda, il débordera et inondera, Il atteindra jusqu'au cou. Le déploiement de ses ailes Remplira l'étendue de ton pays, ô Emmanuel! (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἀφελει̃ ἀπὸ τη̃ς Ιουδαίας ἄνθρωπον ὃς δυνήσεται κεφαλὴν ἀ̃ραι ἢ δυνατὸν συντελέσασθαί τι καὶ ἔσται ἡ παρεμβολὴ αὐτου̃ ὥστε πληρω̃σαι τὸ πλάτος τη̃ς χώρας σου μεθ' ἡμω̃ν ὁ θεός (Ⅲ) - et ibit per Judam, inundans, et transiens :/ usque ad collum veniet./ Et erit extensio alarum ejus/ implens latitudinem terræ tuæ, o Emmanuel !/ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃8 וחלף ביהודה שטף ועבר עד צואר יגיע והיה מטות כנפיו מלא רחב ארצך עמנו אל ס (Ⅴ)

Associate yourselves, O ye people, and ye shall be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and ye shall be broken in pieces.
- Poussez des cris de guerre, peuples! et vous serez brisés; Prêtez l'oreille, vous tous qui habitez au loin! Préparez-vous au combat, et vous serez brisés; Préparez-vous au combat, et vous serez brisés. (Ⅱ) - γνω̃τε ἔθνη καὶ ἡττα̃σθε ἐπακούσατε ἕως ἐσχάτου τη̃ς γη̃ς ἰσχυκότες ἡττα̃σθε ἐὰν γὰρ πάλιν ἰσχύσητε πάλιν ἡττηθήσεσθε (Ⅲ) - Congregamini, populi, et vincimini ;/ et audite, universæ procul terræ :/ confortamini, et vincimini ;/ accingite vos, et vincimini./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃8 רעו עמים וחתו והאזינו כל מרחקי ארץ התאזרו וחתו התאזרו וחתו (Ⅴ)

Take counsel together, and it shall come to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.
- Formez des projets, et ils seront anéantis; Donnez des ordres, et ils seront sans effet: Car Dieu est avec nous. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἣν ἂν βουλεύσησθε βουλήν διασκεδάσει κύριος καὶ λόγον ὃν ἐὰν λαλήσητε οὐ μὴ ἐμμείνη̨ ὑμι̃ν ὅτι μεθ' ἡμω̃ν κύριος ὁ θεός (Ⅲ) - Inite consilium, et dissipabitur ;/ loquimini verbum, et non fiet :/ quia nobiscum Deus./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃8 עצו עצה ותפר דברו דבר ולא יקום כי עמנו אל ס (Ⅴ)

For the LORD spake thus to me with a strong hand, and instructed me that I should not walk in the way of this people, saying,
- Ainsi m'a parlé l'Éternel, quand sa main me saisit, Et qu'il m'avertit de ne pas marcher dans la voie de ce peuple: (Ⅱ) - οὕτως λέγει κύριος τη̨̃ ἰσχυρα̨̃ χειρὶ ἀπειθου̃σιν τη̨̃ πορεία̨ τη̃ς ὁδου̃ του̃ λαου̃ τούτου λέγοντες (Ⅲ) - Hæc enim ait Dominus ad me : Sicut in manu forti erudivit me,/ ne irem in via populi hujus, dicens :/ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃8 כי כה אמר יהוה אלי כחזקת היד ויסרני מלכת בדרך העם הזה לאמר (Ⅴ)

Say ye not, A confederacy, to all them to whom this people shall say, A confederacy; neither fear ye their fear, nor be afraid.
- N'appelez pas conjuration tout ce que ce peuple appelle conjuration; Ne craignez pas ce qu'il craint, et ne soyez pas effrayés. (Ⅱ) - μήποτε εἴπητε σκληρόν πα̃ν γάρ ὃ ἐὰν εἴπη̨ ὁ λαὸς οὑ̃τος σκληρόν ἐστιν τὸν δὲ φόβον αὐτου̃ οὐ μὴ φοβηθη̃τε οὐδὲ μὴ ταραχθη̃τε (Ⅲ) - Non dicatis : Conjuratio ;/ omnia enim quæ loquitur populus iste, conjuratio est :/ et timorem ejus ne timeatis, neque paveatis./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃8 לא תאמרון קשר לכל אשר יאמר העם הזה קשר ואת מוראו לא תיראו ולא תעריצו (Ⅴ)

Sanctify the LORD of hosts himself; and let him be your fear, and let him be your dread.
- C'est l'Éternel des armées que vous devez sanctifier, C'est lui que vous devez craindre et redouter. (Ⅱ) - κύριον αὐτὸν ἁγιάσατε καὶ αὐτὸς ἔσται σου φόβος (Ⅲ) - Dominum exercituum ipsum sanctificate ;/ ipse pavor vester, et ipse terror vester :/ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃8 את יהוה צבאות אתו תקדישו והוא מוראכם והוא מערצכם (Ⅴ)

And he shall be for a sanctuary; but for a stone of stumbling and for a rock of offence to both the houses of Israel, for a gin and for a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem.
- Et il sera un sanctuaire, Mais aussi une pierre d'achoppement, Un rocher de scandale pour les deux maisons d'Israël, Un filet et un piège Pour les habitants de Jérusalem. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐὰν ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ πεποιθὼς ἠ̨̃ς ἔσται σοι εἰς ἁγίασμα καὶ οὐχ ὡς λίθου προσκόμματι συναντήσεσθε αὐτω̨̃ οὐδὲ ὡς πέτρας πτώματι ὁ δὲ οἰ̃κος Ιακωβ ἐν παγίδι καὶ ἐν κοιλάσματι ἐγκαθήμενοι ἐν Ιερουσαλημ (Ⅲ) - et erit vobis in sanctificationem ;/ in lapidem autem offensionis, et in petram scandali,/ duabus domibus Israël ;/ in laqueum et in ruinam habitantibus Jerusalem./ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃8 והיה למקדש ולאבן נגף ולצור מכשול לשני בתי ישראל לפח ולמוקש ליושב ירושלם (Ⅴ)

And many among them shall stumble, and fall, and be broken, and be snared, and be taken.
- Plusieurs trébucheront; Ils tomberont et se briseront, Ils seront enlacés et pris. (Ⅱ) - διὰ του̃το ἀδυνατήσουσιν ἐν αὐτοι̃ς πολλοὶ καὶ πεσου̃νται καὶ συντριβήσονται καὶ ἐγγιου̃σιν καὶ ἁλώσονται ἄνθρωποι ἐν ἀσφαλεία̨ ὄντες (Ⅲ) - Et offendent ex eis plurimi,/ et cadent, et conterentur,/ et irretientur, et capientur./ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃8 וכשלו בם רבים ונפלו ונשברו ונוקשו ונלכדו ס (Ⅴ)

Bind up the testimony, seal the law among my disciples.
- Enveloppe cet oracle, Scelle cette révélation, parmi mes disciples. - (Ⅱ) - τότε φανεροὶ ἔσονται οἱ σφραγιζόμενοι τὸν νόμον του̃ μὴ μαθει̃ν (Ⅲ) - Liga testimonium,/ signa legem in discipulis meis./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃8 צור תעודה חתום תורה בלמדי (Ⅴ)

And I will wait upon the LORD, that hideth his face from the house of Jacob, and I will look for him.
- J'espère en l'Éternel, Qui cache sa face à la maison de Jacob; Je place en lui ma confiance. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐρει̃ μενω̃ τὸν θεὸν τὸν ἀποστρέψαντα τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ του̃ οἴκου Ιακωβ καὶ πεποιθὼς ἔσομαι ἐπ' αὐτω̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Et exspectabo Dominum qui abscondit faciem suam/ a domo Jacob, et præstolabor eum./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃8 וחכיתי ליהוה המסתיר פניו מבית יעקב וקויתי לו (Ⅴ)

Behold, I and the children whom the LORD hath given me are for signs and for wonders in Israel from the LORD of hosts, which dwelleth in mount Zion.
- Voici, moi et les enfants que l'Éternel m'a donnés, Nous sommes des signes et des présages en Israël, De la part de l'Éternel des armées, Qui habite sur la montagne de Sion. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ καὶ τὰ παιδία ἅ μοι ἔδωκεν ὁ θεός καὶ ἔσται εἰς σημει̃α καὶ τέρατα ἐν τω̨̃ οἴκω̨ Ισραηλ παρὰ κυρίου σαβαωθ ὃς κατοικει̃ ἐν τω̨̃ ὄρει Σιων (Ⅲ) - Ecce ego et pueri mei quos dedit mihi Dominus/ in signum, et in portentum Israël/ a Domino exercituum,/ qui habitat in monte Sion :/ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃8 הנה אנכי והילדים אשר נתן לי יהוה לאתות ולמופתים בישראל מעם יהוה צבאות השכן בהר ציון ס (Ⅴ)

And when they shall say unto you, Seek unto them that have familiar spirits, and unto wizards that peep, and that mutter: should not a people seek unto their God? for the living to the dead?
- Si l'on vous dit: Consultez ceux qui évoquent les morts et ceux qui prédisent l'avenir, Qui poussent des sifflements et des soupirs, Répondez: Un peuple ne consultera-t-il pas son Dieu? S'adressera-t-il aux morts en faveur des vivants? (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐὰν εἴπωσιν πρὸς ὑμα̃ς ζητήσατε τοὺς ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς φωνου̃ντας καὶ τοὺς ἐγγαστριμύθους τοὺς κενολογου̃ντας οἳ ἐκ τη̃ς κοιλίας φωνου̃σιν οὐκ ἔθνος πρὸς θεὸν αὐτου̃ τί ἐκζητου̃σιν περὶ τω̃ν ζώντων τοὺς νεκρούς (Ⅲ) - et cum dixerint ad vos :/ Quærite a pythonibus/ et a divinis qui strident in incantationibus suis :/ numquid non populus a Deo suo requiret,/ pro vivis a mortuis ?/ (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃8 וכי יאמרו אליכם דרשו אל האבות ואל הידענים המצפצפים והמהגים הלוא עם אל אלהיו ידרש בעד החיים אל המתים (Ⅴ)

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
- A la loi et au témoignage! Si l'on ne parle pas ainsi, Il n'y aura point d'aurore pour le peuple. (Ⅱ) - νόμον γὰρ εἰς βοήθειαν ἔδωκεν ἵνα εἴπωσιν οὐχ ὡς τὸ ῥη̃μα του̃το περὶ οὑ̃ οὐκ ἔστιν δω̃ρα δου̃ναι περὶ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - ad legem magis et ad testimonium./ Quod si non dixerint juxta verbum hoc,/ non erit eis matutina lux./ (Ⅳ) - 20 ׃8 לתורה ולתעודה אם לא יאמרו כדבר הזה אשר אין לו שחר (Ⅴ)

And they shall pass through it, hardly bestead and hungry: and it shall come to pass, that when they shall be hungry, they shall fret themselves, and curse their king and their God, and look upward.
- Il sera errant dans le pays, accablé et affamé; Et, quand il aura faim, il s'irritera, Maudira son roi et son Dieu, Et tournera les yeux en haut; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἥξει ἐφ' ὑμα̃ς σκληρὰ λιμός καὶ ἔσται ὡς ἂν πεινάσητε λυπηθήσεσθε καὶ κακω̃ς ἐρει̃τε τὸν ἄρχοντα καὶ τὰ παταχρα καὶ ἀναβλέψονται εἰς τὸν οὐρανὸν ἄνω (Ⅲ) - Et transibit per eam, corruet, et esuriet ;/ et cum esurierit, irascetur./ Et maledicet regi suo, et Deo suo,/ et suscipiet sursum,/ (Ⅳ) - 21 ׃8 ועבר בה נקשה ורעב והיה כי ירעב והתקצף וקלל במלכו ובאלהיו ופנה למעלה (Ⅴ)

And they shall look unto the earth; and behold trouble and darkness, dimness of anguish; and they shall be driven to darkness.
- Puis il regardera vers la terre, Et voici, il n'y aura que détresse, obscurité et de sombres angoisses: Il sera repoussé dans d'épaisses ténèbres. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰς τὴν γη̃ν κάτω ἐμβλέψονται καὶ ἰδοὺ θλι̃ψις καὶ στενοχωρία καὶ σκότος ἀπορία στενὴ καὶ σκότος ὥστε μὴ βλέπειν (Ⅲ) - et ad terram intuebitur ;/ et ecce tribulatio et tenebræ,/ dissolutio et angustia,/ et caligo persequens,/ et non poterit avolare de angustia sua.] (Ⅳ) - 22 ׃8 ואל ארץ יביט והנה צרה וחשכה מעוף צוקה ואפלה מנדח (Ⅴ)
