Thus hath the Lord GOD shewed unto me: and behold a basket of summer fruit.
- Le Seigneur, l'Éternel, m'envoya cette vision. Voici, c'était une corbeille de fruits. (Ⅱ) - οὕτως ἔδειξέν μοι κύριος καὶ ἰδοὺ ἄγγος ἰξευτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Hæc ostendit mihi Dominus Deus : et ecce uncinus pomorum. (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃8 כה הראני אדני יהוה והנה כלוב קיץ (Ⅴ)

And he said, Amos, what seest thou? And I said, A basket of summer fruit. Then said the LORD unto me, The end is come upon my people of Israel; I will not again pass by them any more.
- Il dit: Que vois-tu, Amos? Je répondis: Une corbeille de fruits. Et l'Éternel me dit: La fin est venue pour mon peuple d'Israël; Je ne lui pardonnerai plus. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν τί σὺ βλέπεις Αμως καὶ εἰ̃πα ἄγγος ἰξευτου̃ καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἥκει τὸ πέρας ἐπὶ τὸν λαόν μου Ισραηλ οὐκέτι μὴ προσθω̃ του̃ παρελθει̃ν αὐτόν (Ⅲ) - Et dixit : Quid tu vides, Amos ? Et dixi : Uncinum pomorum. Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Venit finis super populum meum Israël ;/ non adjiciam ultra ut pertranseam eum./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃8 ויאמר מה אתה ראה עמוס ואמר כלוב קיץ ויאמר יהוה אלי בא הקץ אל עמי ישראל לא אוסיף עוד עבור לו (Ⅴ)

And the songs of the temple shall be howlings in that day, saith the Lord GOD: there shall be many dead bodies in every place; they shall cast them forth with silence.
- En ce jour-là, les chants du palais seront des gémissements, Dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel; On jettera partout en silence une multitude de cadavres. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ὀλολύξει τὰ φατνώματα του̃ ναου̃ ἐν ἐκείνη̨ τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ λέγει κύριος πολὺς ὁ πεπτωκὼς ἐν παντὶ τόπω̨ ἐπιρρίψω σιωπήν (Ⅲ) - Et stridebunt cardines templi in die illa,/ dicit Dominus Deus :/ multi morientur ;/ in omni loco projicietur silentium.]\ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃8 והילילו שירות היכל ביום ההוא נאם אדני יהוה רב הפגר בכל מקום השליך הס פ (Ⅴ)

Hear this, O ye that swallow up the needy, even to make the poor of the land to fail,
- Écoutez ceci, vous qui dévorez l'indigent, Et qui ruinez les malheureux du pays! (Ⅱ) - ἀκούσατε δὴ ταυ̃τα οἱ ἐκτρίβοντες εἰς τὸ πρωὶ πένητα καὶ καταδυναστεύοντες πτωχοὺς ἀπὸ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Audite hoc, qui conteritis pauperem,/ et deficere facitis egenos terræ,/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃8 שמעו זאת השאפים אביון ולשבית *ענוי **עניי ארץ (Ⅴ)

Saying, When will the new moon be gone, that we may sell corn? and the sabbath, that we may set forth wheat, making the ephah small, and the shekel great, and falsifying the balances by deceit?
- Vous dites: Quand la nouvelle lune sera-t-elle passée, Afin que nous vendions du blé? Quand finira le sabbat, afin que nous ouvrions les greniers? Nous diminuerons l'épha, nous augmenterons le prix, Nous falsifierons les balances pour tromper; (Ⅱ) - οἱ λέγοντες πότε διελεύσεται ὁ μὴν καὶ ἐμπολήσομεν καὶ τὰ σάββατα καὶ ἀνοίξομεν θησαυροὺς του̃ ποιη̃σαι μικρὸν μέτρον καὶ του̃ μεγαλυ̃ναι στάθμια καὶ ποιη̃σαι ζυγὸν ἄδικον (Ⅲ) - dicentes : Quando transibit mensis,/ et venundabimus merces ?/ et sabbatum, et aperiemus frumentum,/ ut imminuamus mensuram, et augeamus siclum,/ et supponamus stateras dolosas,/ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃8 לאמר מתי יעבר החדש ונשבירה שבר והשבת ונפתחה בר להקטין איפה ולהגדיל שקל ולעות מאזני מרמה (Ⅴ)

That we may buy the poor for silver, and the needy for a pair of shoes; yea, and sell the refuse of the wheat?
- Puis nous achèterons les misérables pour de l'argent, Et le pauvre pour une paire de souliers, Et nous vendrons la criblure du froment. (Ⅱ) - του̃ κτα̃σθαι ἐν ἀργυρίω̨ πτωχοὺς καὶ ταπεινὸν ἀντὶ ὑποδημάτων καὶ ἀπὸ παντὸς γενήματος ἐμπορευσόμεθα (Ⅲ) - ut possideamus in argento egenos et pauperes pro calceamentis,/ et quisquilias frumenti vendamus ?/ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃8 לקנות בכסף דלים ואביון בעבור נעלים ומפל בר נשביר (Ⅴ)

The LORD hath sworn by the excellency of Jacob, Surely I will never forget any of their works.
- L'Éternel l'a juré par la gloire de Jacob: Je n'oublierai jamais aucune de leurs oeuvres. (Ⅱ) - ὀμνύει κύριος καθ' ὑπερηφανίας Ιακωβ εἰ ἐπιλησθήσεται εἰς νει̃κος πάντα τὰ ἔργα ὑμω̃ν (Ⅲ) - Juravit Dominus in superbiam Jacob :/ Si oblitus fuero usque ad finem omnia opera eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃8 נשבע יהוה בגאון יעקב אם אשכח לנצח כל מעשיהם (Ⅴ)

Shall not the land tremble for this, and every one mourn that dwelleth therein? and it shall rise up wholly as a flood; and it shall be cast out and drowned, as by the flood of Egypt.
- Le pays, à cause d'elles, ne sera-t-il pas ébranlé, Et tous ses habitants ne seront-ils pas dans le deuil? Le pays montera tout entier comme le fleuve, Il se soulèvera et s'affaissera comme le fleuve d'Égypte. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐπὶ τούτοις οὐ ταραχθήσεται ἡ γη̃ καὶ πενθήσει πα̃ς ὁ κατοικω̃ν ἐν αὐτη̨̃ καὶ ἀναβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς συντέλεια καὶ καταβήσεται ὡς ποταμὸς Αἰγύπτου (Ⅲ) - Numquid super isto non commovebitur terra,/ et lugebit omnis habitator ejus,/ et ascendet quasi fluvius universus,/ et ejicicetur, et defluet, quasi rivus Ægypti ?/ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃8 העל זאת לא תרגז הארץ ואבל כל יושב בה ועלתה כאר כלה ונגרשה *ונשקה **ונשקעה כיאור מצרים ס (Ⅴ)

And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD, that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day:
- En ce jour-là, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, Je ferai coucher le soleil à midi, Et j'obscurcirai la terre en plein jour; (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἔσται ἐν ἐκείνη̨ τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ λέγει κύριος ὁ θεός καὶ δύσεται ὁ ἥλιος μεσημβρίας καὶ συσκοτάσει ἐπὶ τη̃ς γη̃ς ἐν ἡμέρα̨ τὸ φω̃ς (Ⅲ) - Et erit in die illa, dicit Dominus Deus :/ occidet sol in meridie,/ et tenebrescere faciam terram in die luminis :/ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃8 והיה ביום ההוא נאם אדני יהוה והבאתי השמש בצהרים והחשכתי לארץ ביום אור (Ⅴ)

And I will turn your feasts into mourning, and all your songs into lamentation; and I will bring up sackcloth upon all loins, and baldness upon every head; and I will make it as the mourning of an only son, and the end thereof as a bitter day.
- Je changerai vos fêtes en deuil, Et tous vos chants en lamentations, Je couvrirai de sacs tous les reins, Et je rendrai chauves toutes les têtes; Je mettrai le pays dans le deuil comme pour un fils unique, Et sa fin sera comme un jour d'amertume. (Ⅱ) - καὶ μεταστρέψω τὰς ἑορτὰς ὑμω̃ν εἰς πένθος καὶ πάσας τὰς ὠ̨δὰς ὑμω̃ν εἰς θρη̃νον καὶ ἀναβιβω̃ ἐπὶ πα̃σαν ὀσφὺν σάκκον καὶ ἐπὶ πα̃σαν κεφαλὴν φαλάκρωμα καὶ θήσομαι αὐτὸν ὡς πένθος ἀγαπητου̃ καὶ τοὺς μετ' αὐτου̃ ὡς ἡμέραν ὀδύνης (Ⅲ) - et convertam festivitates vestras in luctum,/ et omnia cantica vestra in planctum,/ et inducam super omne dorsum vestrum saccum,/ et super omne caput calvitium :/ et ponam eam quasi luctum unigeniti,/ et novissima ejus quasi diem amarum./ (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃8 והפכתי חגיכם לאבל וכל שיריכם לקינה והעליתי על כל מתנים שק ועל כל ראש קרחה ושמתיה כאבל יחיד ואחריתה כיום מר (Ⅴ)

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
- Voici, les jours viennent, dit le Seigneur, l'Éternel, Où j'enverrai la famine dans le pays, Non pas la disette du pain et la soif de l'eau, Mais la faim et la soif d'entendre les paroles de l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ ἡμέραι ἔρχονται λέγει κύριος καὶ ἐξαποστελω̃ λιμὸν ἐπὶ τὴν γη̃ν οὐ λιμὸν ἄρτου οὐδὲ δίψαν ὕδατος ἀλλὰ λιμὸν του̃ ἀκου̃σαι λόγον κυρίου (Ⅲ) - Ecce dies veniunt, dicet Dominus,/ et mittam famem in terram :/ non famem panis, neque sitim aquæ,/ sed audiendi verbum Domini./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃8 הנה ימים באים נאם אדני יהוה והשלחתי רעב בארץ לא רעב ללחם ולא צמא למים כי אם לשמע את דברי יהוה (Ⅴ)

And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.
- Ils seront alors errants d'une mer à l'autre, Du septentrion à l'orient, Ils iront çà et là pour chercher la parole de l'Éternel, Et ils ne la trouveront pas. (Ⅱ) - καὶ σαλευθήσονται ὕδατα ἕως θαλάσσης καὶ ἀπὸ βορρα̃ ἕως ἀνατολω̃ν περιδραμου̃νται ζητου̃ντες τὸν λόγον κυρίου καὶ οὐ μὴ εὕρωσιν (Ⅲ) - Et commovebuntur a mari usque ad mare,/ et ab aquilone usque ad orientem :/ circuibunt quærentes verbum Domini,/ et non invenient./ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃8 ונעו מים עד ים ומצפון ועד מזרח ישוטטו לבקש את דבר יהוה ולא ימצאו (Ⅴ)

In that day shall the fair virgins and young men faint for thirst.
- En ce jour, les belles jeunes filles et les jeunes hommes mourront de soif. (Ⅱ) - ἐν τη̨̃ ἡμέρα̨ ἐκείνη̨ ἐκλείψουσιν αἱ παρθένοι αἱ καλαὶ καὶ οἱ νεανίσκοι ἐν δίψει (Ⅲ) - In die illa deficient virgines pulchræ et adolescentes in siti,/ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃8 ביום ההוא תתעלפנה הבתולת היפות והבחורים בצמא (Ⅴ)

They that swear by the sin of Samaria, and say, Thy god, O Dan, liveth; and, The manner of Beersheba liveth; even they shall fall, and never rise up again.
- Ils jurent par le péché de Samarie, Et ils disent: Vive ton Dieu, Dan! Vive la voie de Beer Schéba! Mais ils tomberont, et ne se relèveront plus. (Ⅱ) - οἱ ὀμνύοντες κατὰ του̃ ἱλασμου̃ Σαμαρείας καὶ οἱ λέγοντες ζη̨̃ ὁ θεός σου Δαν καὶ ζη̨̃ ὁ θεός σου Βηρσαβεε καὶ πεσου̃νται καὶ οὐ μὴ ἀναστω̃σιν ἔτι (Ⅲ) - qui jurant in delicto Samariæ,/ et dicunt : Vivit Deus tuus, Dan,/ et vivit via Bersabee ;/ et cadent, et non resurgent ultra.] (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃8 הנשבעים באשמת שמרון ואמרו חי אלהיך דן וחי דרך באר שבע ונפלו ולא יקומו עוד ס (Ⅴ)
