- Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: (Ⅱ) - ἡ σοφία ὠ̨κοδόμησεν ἑαυτη̨̃ οἰ̃κον καὶ ὑπήρεισεν στύλους ἑπτά (Ⅲ) - Sapientia ædificavit sibi domum :/ excidit columnas septem./ (Ⅳ) - 1 ׃9 חכמות בנתה ביתה חצבה עמודיה שבעה (Ⅴ)

Elle a égorgé ses victimes, mêlé son vin, Et dressé sa table.
- She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. (Ⅱ) - ἔσφαξεν τὰ ἑαυτη̃ς θύματα ἐκέρασεν εἰς κρατη̃ρα τὸν ἑαυτη̃ς οἰ̃νον καὶ ἡτοιμάσατο τὴν ἑαυτη̃ς τράπεζαν (Ⅲ) - Immolavit victimas suas, miscuit vinum,/ et proposuit mensam suam./ (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃9 טבחה טבחה מסכה יינה אף ערכה שלחנה (Ⅴ)

Elle a envoyé ses servantes, elle crie Sur le sommet des hauteurs de la ville:
- She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, (Ⅱ) - ἀπέστειλεν τοὺς ἑαυτη̃ς δούλους συγκαλούσα μετὰ ὑψηλου̃ κηρύγματος ἐπὶ κρατη̃ρα λέγουσα (Ⅲ) - Misit ancillas suas ut vocarent/ ad arcem et ad mœnia civitatis./ (Ⅳ) - 3 ׃9 שלחה נערתיה תקרא על גפי מרמי קרת (Ⅴ)

Que celui qui est stupide entre ici! Elle dit à ceux qui sont dépourvus de sens:
- Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, (Ⅱ) - ὅς ἐστιν ἄφρων ἐκκλινάτω πρός με καὶ τοι̃ς ἐνδεέσι φρενω̃ν εἰ̃πεν (Ⅲ) - Si quis est parvulus, veniat ad me./ Et insipientibus locuta est :/ (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃9 מי פתי יסר הנה חסר לב אמרה לו (Ⅴ)

Venez, mangez de mon pain, Et buvez du vin que j'ai mêlé;
- Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled. (Ⅱ) - ἔλθατε φάγετε τω̃ν ἐμω̃ν ἄρτων καὶ πίετε οἰ̃νον ὃν ἐκέρασα ὑμι̃ν (Ⅲ) - Venite, comedite panem meum,/ et bibite vinum quod miscui vobis./ (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃9 לכו לחמו בלחמי ושתו ביין מסכתי (Ⅴ)

Quittez la stupidité, et vous vivrez, Et marchez dans la voie de l'intelligence!
- Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding. (Ⅱ) - ἀπολείπετε ἀφροσύνην καὶ ζήσεσθε καὶ ζητήσατε φρόνησιν ἵνα βιώσητε καὶ κατορθώσατε ἐν γνώσει σύνεσιν (Ⅲ) - Relinquite infantiam, et vivite,/ et ambulate per vias prudentiæ.]\ (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃9 עזבו פתאים וחיו ואשרו בדרך בינה (Ⅴ)

Celui qui reprend le moqueur s'attire le dédain, Et celui qui corrige le méchant reçoit un outrage.
- He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. (Ⅱ) - ὁ παιδεύων κακοὺς λήμψεται ἑαυτω̨̃ ἀτιμίαν ἐλέγχων δὲ τὸν ἀσεβη̃ μωμήσεται ἑαυτόν (Ⅲ) - Qui erudit derisorem, ipse injuriam sibi facit,/ et qui arguit impium, sibi maculam generat./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃9 יסר לץ לקח לו קלון ומוכיח לרשע מומו (Ⅴ)

Ne reprends pas le moqueur, de crainte qu'il ne te haïsse; Reprends le sage, et il t'aimera.
- Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. (Ⅱ) - μὴ ἔλεγχε κακούς ἵνα μὴ μισω̃σίν σε ἔλεγχε σοφόν καὶ ἀγαπήσει σε (Ⅲ) - Noli arguere derisorem, ne oderit te :/ argue sapientem, et diliget te./ (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃9 אל תוכח לץ פן ישנאך הוכח לחכם ויאהבך (Ⅴ)

Donne au sage, et il deviendra plus sage; Instruis le juste, et il augmentera son savoir.
- Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. (Ⅱ) - δίδου σοφω̨̃ ἀφορμήν καὶ σοφώτερος ἔσται γνώριζε δικαίω̨ καὶ προσθήσει του̃ δέχεσθαι (Ⅲ) - Da sapienti occasionem, et addetur ei sapientia ;/ doce justum, et festinabit accipere./ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃9 תן לחכם ויחכם עוד הודע לצדיק ויוסף לקח פ (Ⅴ)

Le commencement de la sagesse, c'est la crainte de l'Éternel; Et la science des saints, c'est l'intelligence.

C'est par moi que tes jours se multiplieront, Et que les années de ta vie augmenteront.
- For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. (Ⅱ) - τούτω̨ γὰρ τω̨̃ τρόπω̨ πολὺν ζήσεις χρόνον καὶ προστεθήσεταί σοι ἔτη ζωη̃ς σου (Ⅲ) - Per me enim multiplicabuntur dies tui,/ et addentur tibi anni vitæ./ (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃9 כי בי ירבו ימיך ויוסיפו לך שנות חיים (Ⅴ)

- If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it. (Ⅱ) - υἱέ ἐὰν σοφὸς γένη̨ σεαυτω̨̃ σοφὸς ἔση̨ καὶ τοι̃ς πλησίον ἐὰν δὲ κακὸς ἀποβη̨̃ς μόνος ἀναντλήσεις κακά (Ⅲ) - Si sapiens fueris, tibimetipsi eris ;/ si autem illusor, solus portabis malum.]\ (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃9 אם חכמת חכמת לך ולצת לבדך תשא (Ⅴ)

La folie est une femme bruyante, Stupide et ne sachant rien.
- A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing. (Ⅱ) - γυνὴ ἄφρων καὶ θρασει̃α ἐνδεὴς ψωμου̃ γίνεται ἣ οὐκ ἐπίσταται αἰσχύνην (Ⅲ) - Mulier stulta et clamosa,/ plenaque illecebris, et nihil omnino sciens,/ (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃9 אשת כסילות המיה פתיות ובל ידעה מה (Ⅴ)

- For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, (Ⅱ) - ἐκάθισεν ἐπὶ θύραις του̃ ἑαυτη̃ς οἴκου ἐπὶ δίφρου ἐμφανω̃ς ἐν πλατείαις (Ⅲ) - sedit in foribus domus suæ,/ super sellam in excelso urbis loco,/ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃9 וישבה לפתח ביתה על כסא מרמי קרת (Ⅴ)

Pour crier aux passants, Qui vont droit leur chemin:
- To call passengers who go right on their ways: (Ⅱ) - προσκαλουμένη τοὺς παριόντας καὶ κατευθύνοντας ἐν ται̃ς ὁδοι̃ς αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - ut vocaret transeuntes per viam,/ et pergentes itinere suo :/ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃9 לקרא לעברי דרך המישרים ארחותם (Ⅴ)

- Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. (Ⅱ) - ἄρτων κρυφίων ἡδέως ἅψασθε καὶ ὕδατος κλοπη̃ς γλυκερου̃ (Ⅲ) - Aquæ furtivæ dulciores sunt,/ et panis absconditus suavior./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃9 מים גנובים ימתקו ולחם סתרים ינעם (Ⅴ)

Et il ne sait pas que là sont les morts, Et que ses invités sont dans les vallées du séjour des morts.
- But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell. (Ⅱ) - ὁ δὲ οὐκ οἰ̃δεν ὅτι γηγενει̃ς παρ' αὐτη̨̃ ὄλλυνται καὶ ἐπὶ πέτευρον ἅ̨δου συναντα̨̃ (Ⅲ) - Et ignoravit quod ibi sint gigantes,/ et in profundis inferni convivæ ejus.] (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃9 ולא ידע כי רפאים שם בעמקי שאול קראיה פ (Ⅴ)
