To whom the word of the LORD came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.
- La parole de l'Éternel lui fut adressée au temps de Josias, fils d'Amon, roi de Juda, la treizième année de son règne, (Ⅱ) - ὃς ἐγενήθη λόγος του̃ θεου̃ πρὸς αὐτὸν ἐν ται̃ς ἡμέραις Ιωσια υἱου̃ Αμως βασιλέως Ιουδα ἔτους τρισκαιδεκάτου ἐν τη̨̃ βασιλεία̨ αὐτου̃ (Ⅲ) - Quod factum est verbum Domini ad eum in diebus Josiæ filii Amon, regis Juda, in tertiodecimo anno regni ejus. (Ⅳ) - 2 ׃1 אשר היה דבר יהוה אליו בימי יאשיהו בן אמון מלך יהודה בשלש עשרה שנה למלכו (Ⅴ)

It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah king of Judah, unto the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.
- et au temps de Jojakim, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, jusqu'à la fin de la onzième année de Sédécias, fils de Josias, roi de Juda, jusqu'à l'époque où Jérusalem fut emmenée en captivité, au cinquième mois. Then the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,
- La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων (Ⅲ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens : (Ⅳ) - 4 ׃1 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר (Ⅴ)

Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee; and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee, and I ordained thee a prophet unto the nations.
- Avant que je t'eusse formé dans le ventre de ta mère, je te connaissais, et avant que tu fusses sorti de son sein, je t'avais consacré, je t'avais établi prophète des nations. (Ⅱ) - πρὸ του̃ με πλάσαι σε ἐν κοιλία̨ ἐπίσταμαί σε καὶ πρὸ του̃ σε ἐξελθει̃ν ἐκ μήτρας ἡγίακά σε προφήτην εἰς ἔθνη τέθεικά σε (Ⅲ) - Priusquam te formarem in utero, novi te,/ et antequam exires de vulva, sanctificavi te,/ et prophetam in gentibus dedi te.] (Ⅳ) - 5 ׃1 בטרם *אצורך **אצרך בבטן ידעתיך ובטרם תצא מרחם הקדשתיך נביא לגוים נתתיך (Ⅴ)

Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, I cannot speak: for I am a child.
- Je répondis: Ah! Seigneur Éternel! voici, je ne sais point parler, car je suis un enfant. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πα ὠ̃ δέσποτα κύριε ἰδοὺ οὐκ ἐπίσταμαι λαλει̃ν ὅτι νεώτερος ἐγώ εἰμι (Ⅲ) - Et dixi : [A, a, a, Domine Deus, ecce nescio loqui,/ quia puer ego sum.] (Ⅳ) - 6 ׃1 ואמר אהה אדני יהוה הנה לא ידעתי דבר[1] כי נער אנכי פ (Ⅴ)

But the LORD said unto me, Say not, I am a child: for thou shalt go to all that I shall send thee, and whatsoever I command thee thou shalt speak.
- Et l'Éternel me dit: Ne dis pas: Je suis un enfant. Car tu iras vers tous ceux auprès de qui je t'enverrai, et tu diras tout ce que je t'ordonnerai. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με μὴ λέγε ὅτι νεώτερος ἐγώ εἰμι ὅτι πρὸς πάντας οὓς ἐὰν ἐξαποστείλω σε πορεύση̨ καὶ κατὰ πάντα ὅσα ἐὰν ἐντείλωμαί σοι λαλήσεις (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Noli dicere : Puer sum :/ quoniam ad omnia quæ mittam te ibis,/ et universa quæcumque mandavero tibi loqueris./ (Ⅳ) - 7 ׃1 ויאמר יהוה אלי אל תאמר נער אנכי כי על כל אשר אשלחך תלך ואת כל אשר אצוך תדבר (Ⅴ)

Be not afraid of their faces: for I am with thee to deliver thee, saith the LORD.
- Ne les crains point, car je suis avec toi pour te délivrer, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν ὅτι μετὰ σου̃ ἐγώ εἰμι του̃ ἐξαιρει̃σθαί σε λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Ne timeas a facie eorum,/ quia tecum ego sum ut eruam te,/ dicit Dominus.] (Ⅳ) - 8 ׃1 אל תירא מפניהם כי אתך אני להצלך נאם יהוה (Ⅴ)

Then the LORD put forth his hand, and touched my mouth. And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have put my words in thy mouth.
- Puis l'Éternel étendit sa main, et toucha ma bouche; et l'Éternel me dit: Voici, je mets mes paroles dans ta bouche. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐξέτεινεν κύριος τὴν χει̃ρα αὐτου̃ πρός με καὶ ἥψατο του̃ στόματός μου καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἰδοὺ δέδωκα τοὺς λόγους μου εἰς τὸ στόμα σου (Ⅲ) - Et misit Dominus manum suam, et tetigit os meum, et dixit Dominus ad me : [Ecce dedi verba mea in ore tuo :/ (Ⅳ) - 9 ׃1 וישלח יהוה את ידו ויגע על פי ויאמר יהוה אלי הנה נתתי דברי בפיך (Ⅴ)

See, I have this day set thee over the nations and over the kingdoms, to root out, and to pull down, and to destroy, and to throw down, to build, and to plant.
- Regarde, je t'établis aujourd'hui sur les nations et sur les royaumes, pour que tu arraches et que tu abattes, pour que tu ruines et que tu détruises, pour que tu bâtisses et que tu plantes. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ κατέστακά σε σήμερον ἐπὶ ἔθνη καὶ βασιλείας ἐκριζου̃ν καὶ κατασκάπτειν καὶ ἀπολλύειν καὶ ἀνοικοδομει̃ν καὶ καταφυτεύειν (Ⅲ) - ecce constitui te hodie/ super gentes et super regna,/ ut evellas, et destruas,/ et disperdas, et dissipes,/ et ædifices, et plantes.] (Ⅳ) - 10 ׃1 ראה הפקדתיך היום הזה על הגוים ועל הממלכות לנתוש ולנתוץ ולהאביד ולהרוס לבנות ולנטוע פ (Ⅴ)

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, Jeremiah, what seest thou? And I said, I see a rod of an almond tree.
- La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée, en ces mots: Que vois-tu, Jérémie? Je répondis: Je vois une branche d'amandier. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με λέγων τί σὺ ὁρα̨̃ς Ιερεμια καὶ εἰ̃πα βακτηρίαν καρυΐνην (Ⅲ) - Et factum est verbum Domini ad me, dicens : [Quid tu vides, Jeremia ?] Et dixi : [Virgam vigilantem ego video.] (Ⅳ) - 11 ׃1 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי לאמר מה אתה ראה ירמיהו ואמר מקל שקד אני ראה (Ⅴ)

Then said the LORD unto me, Thou hast well seen: for I will hasten my word to perform it.
- Et l'Éternel me dit: Tu as bien vu; car je veille sur ma parole, pour l'exécuter. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με καλω̃ς ἑώρακας διότι ἐγρήγορα ἐγὼ ἐπὶ τοὺς λόγους μου του̃ ποιη̃σαι αὐτούς (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Bene vidisti :/ quia vigilabo ego super verbo meo,/ ut faciam illud.] (Ⅳ) - 12 ׃1 ויאמר יהוה אלי היטבת לראות כי שקד אני על דברי לעשתו פ (Ⅴ)

And the word of the LORD came unto me the second time, saying, What seest thou? And I said, I see a seething pot; and the face thereof is toward the north.
- La parole de l'Éternel me fut adressée une seconde fois, en ces mots: Que vois-tu? Je répondis: Je vois une chaudière bouillante, du côté du septentrion. (Ⅱ) - καὶ ἐγένετο λόγος κυρίου πρός με ἐκ δευτέρου λέγων τί σὺ ὁρα̨̃ς καὶ εἰ̃πα λέβητα ὑποκαιόμενον καὶ τὸ πρόσωπον αὐτου̃ ἀπὸ προσώπου βορρα̃ (Ⅲ) - Et factum est verbum Domini secundo ad me, dicens : [Quid tu vides ?] Et dixi : [Ollam succensam ego video,/ et faciem ejus a facie aquilonis.] (Ⅳ) - 13 ׃1 ויהי דבר יהוה אלי שנית לאמר מה אתה ראה ואמר סיר נפוח אני ראה ופניו מפני צפונה (Ⅴ)

Then the LORD said unto me, Out of the north an evil shall break forth upon all the inhabitants of the land.
- Et l'Éternel me dit: C'est du septentrion que la calamité se répandra sur tous les habitants du pays. (Ⅱ) - καὶ εἰ̃πεν κύριος πρός με ἀπὸ προσώπου βορρα̃ ἐκκαυθήσεται τὰ κακὰ ἐπὶ πάντας τοὺς κατοικου̃ντας τὴν γη̃ν (Ⅲ) - Et dixit Dominus ad me : [Ab aquilone pandetur malum/ super omnes habitatores terræ :/ (Ⅳ) - 14 ׃1 ויאמר יהוה אלי מצפון תפתח הרעה על כל ישבי הארץ (Ⅴ)

For, lo, I will call all the families of the kingdoms of the north, saith the LORD; and they shall come, and they shall set every one his throne at the entering of the gates of Jerusalem, and against all the walls thereof round about, and against all the cities of Judah.
- Car voici, je vais appeler tous les peuples des royaumes du septentrion, dit l'Éternel; ils viendront, et placeront chacun leur siège à l'entrée des portes de Jérusalem, contre ses murailles tout alentour, et contre toutes les villes de Juda. (Ⅱ) - διότι ἰδοὺ ἐγὼ συγκαλω̃ πάσας τὰς βασιλείας ἀπὸ βορρα̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς λέγει κύριος καὶ ἥξουσιν καὶ θήσουσιν ἕκαστος τὸν θρόνον αὐτου̃ ἐπὶ τὰ πρόθυρα τω̃ν πυλω̃ν Ιερουσαλημ καὶ ἐπὶ πάντα τὰ τείχη τὰ κύκλω̨ αὐτη̃ς καὶ ἐπὶ πάσας τὰς πόλεις Ιουδα (Ⅲ) - quia ecce ego convocabo omnes cognationes regnorum aquilonis,/ ait Dominus :/ et venient, et ponent unusquisque solium suum/ in introitu portarum Jerusalem,/ et super omnes muros ejus in circuitu,/ et super universas urbes Juda :/ (Ⅳ) - 15 ׃1 כי הנני קרא לכל משפחות ממלכות צפונה נאם יהוה ובאו ונתנו איש כסאו פתח שערי ירושלם ועל כל חומתיה סביב ועל כל ערי יהודה (Ⅴ)

And I will utter my judgments against them touching all their wickedness, who have forsaken me, and have burned incense unto other gods, and worshipped the works of their own hands.
- Je prononcerai mes jugements contre eux, à cause de toute leur méchanceté, parce qu'ils m'ont abandonné et ont offert de l'encens à d'autres dieux, et parce qu'ils se sont prosternés devant l'ouvrage de leurs mains. (Ⅱ) - καὶ λαλήσω πρὸς αὐτοὺς μετὰ κρίσεως περὶ πάσης τη̃ς κακίας αὐτω̃ν ὡς ἐγκατέλιπόν με καὶ ἔθυσαν θεοι̃ς ἀλλοτρίοις καὶ προσεκύνησαν τοι̃ς ἔργοις τω̃ν χειρω̃ν αὐτω̃ν (Ⅲ) - et loquar judicia mea cum eis/ super omnem malitiam eorum qui dereliquerunt me,/ et libaverunt diis alienis,/ et adoraverunt opus manuum suarum./ (Ⅳ) - 16 ׃1 ודברתי משפטי אותם על כל רעתם אשר עזבוני ויקטרו לאלהים אחרים וישתחוו למעשי ידיהם (Ⅴ)

Thou therefore gird up thy loins, and arise, and speak unto them all that I command thee: be not dismayed at their faces, lest I confound thee before them.
- Et toi, ceins tes reins, lève-toi, et dis-leur tout ce que je t'ordonnerai. Ne tremble pas en leur présence, de peur que je ne te fasse trembler devant eux. (Ⅱ) - καὶ σὺ περίζωσαι τὴν ὀσφύν σου καὶ ἀνάστηθι καὶ εἰπὸν πρὸς αὐτοὺς πάντα ὅσα ἂν ἐντείλωμαί σοι μὴ φοβηθη̨̃ς ἀπὸ προσώπου αὐτω̃ν μηδὲ πτοηθη̨̃ς ἐναντίον αὐτω̃ν ὅτι μετὰ σου̃ ἐγώ εἰμι του̃ ἐξαιρει̃σθαί σε λέγει κύριος (Ⅲ) - Tu ergo, accinge lumbos tuos,/ et surge, et loquere ad eos/ omnia quæ ego præcipio tibi./ Ne formides a facie eorum,/ nec enim timere te faciam vultum eorum./ (Ⅳ) - 17 ׃1 ואתה תאזר מתניך וקמת ודברת אליהם את כל אשר אנכי אצוך אל תחת מפניהם פן אחתך לפניהם (Ⅴ)

For, behold, I have made thee this day a defenced city, and an iron pillar, and brasen walls against the whole land, against the kings of Judah, against the princes thereof, against the priests thereof, and against the people of the land.
- Voici, je t'établis en ce jour sur tout le pays comme une ville forte, une colonne de fer et un mur d'airain, contre les rois de Juda, contre ses chefs, contre ses sacrificateurs, et contre le peuple du pays. (Ⅱ) - ἰδοὺ τέθεικά σε ἐν τη̨̃ σήμερον ἡμέρα̨ ὡς πόλιν ὀχυρὰν καὶ ὡς τει̃χος χαλκου̃ν ὀχυρὸν ἅπασιν τοι̃ς βασιλευ̃σιν Ιουδα καὶ τοι̃ς ἄρχουσιν αὐτου̃ καὶ τω̨̃ λαω̨̃ τη̃ς γη̃ς (Ⅲ) - Ego quippe dedi te hodie in civitatem munitam,/ et in columnam ferream,/ et in murum æreum,/ super omnem terram,/ regibus Juda, principibus ejus,/ et sacerdotibus, et populo terræ./ (Ⅳ) - 18 ׃1 ואני הנה נתתיך היום לעיר מבצר ולעמוד ברזל ולחמות נחשת על כל הארץ למלכי יהודה לשריה לכהניה ולעם הארץ (Ⅴ)

And they shall fight against thee; but they shall not prevail against thee; for I am with thee, saith the LORD, to deliver thee.
- Ils te feront la guerre, mais ils ne te vaincront pas; car je suis avec toi pour te délivrer, dit l'Éternel. (Ⅱ) - καὶ πολεμήσουσίν σε καὶ οὐ μὴ δύνωνται πρὸς σέ διότι μετὰ σου̃ ἐγώ εἰμι του̃ ἐξαιρει̃σθαί σε εἰ̃πεν κύριος (Ⅲ) - Et bellabunt adversum te,/ et non prævalebunt,/ quia ego tecum sum, ait Dominus, ut liberem te.] (Ⅳ) - 19 ׃1 ונלחמו אליך ולא יוכלו לך כי אתך אני נאם יהוה להצילך פ (Ⅴ)
